Absolutely amazing service. Both guys, JR and Ed helped me move a ton of stuff very quickly. They both got a very large couch through narrow doorways with ease and I am amazed at how good they are at fitting stuff through. There’s no way I could’ve done my move without them and definitely recommend this service to anyone moving in Chicago. You wont be disappointed.

We used Coffey Bros Moving to move from Ravenswood to Portage Park and it could not have gone better. JR, Eric and Ed were so awesome! Michael l and Andrew are the best you should make your move with them. Coffee Brothers I have used them several times and these guys really took care of me they are five star fancy. They really took good professional care of my daughters things. I hate moving and have had bad experiences with crews banging up furniture and/or the apartment. I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and care my Coffey team showed. Im very careful with how I treat my possessions and they wrapped and moved everything almost as carefully as I would.They were on time, polite and came in under time/estimate. Ill use them in the future.

Coffey Bros moving saved the day for me! I had originally booked with another company- but they canceled on me the evening before my morning move. Coffey Bros was able to accommodate my specific moving time on a very short notice. The price is very reasonable and everyone was so pleasant to work with. We hired the Coffey Bros. Moving services for our moving needs. J.R., Jimmy, and Linton came and did our moving. All three of them did an amazing job! They were courteous, professional, and extremely hardworking! They made sure our furniture was wrapped in blankets and bubble wrap to protect it from scratches and other damages. This was nothing but a total disaster and nightmare . Not only did it take 10 hours to pack and unload, but my furniture was left in a room and not put together. I will blame Mark for much of this because Mark knew exactly what I had to move, he then tried to tell me that’s not what I told him in our conversation when in fact I have an email that I sent to three moving business and I read to him exactly what was on my list when he called me and asked what was to be moved. Mind you that they didn’t have any boxes to move because we rented a truck and done that already. They had to leave a lot of my stuff back at the house because the truck was not big enough. Totally destroyed my stainless steel fridge, lost pieces, dented, scratches it’s beyond your imagination. Dresser drawers were dropped and broke and were missing parts for fridge and screws to put the bed together. Oh and I forgot to mention one of the men decided to leave in the middle of the move because he had another job to go to, so now there’s three movers. Mark should’ve known there should’ve been at least been five men to move. So now it’s after 8:30 and they’re not finished and the boss decided to make them stop because he wanted to charge me now by the hour, which has now gone from $1500 to $2000 and that was for 8:30, much more needed to be done so he was blaming me because they were not finished. Mind you I had a house with a stove, refrigerator family room front room furniture two bedrooms sets and other basic home furnishings.I messaged Mark and received no response I also called and spoke to a Chris who was supposed to email me so I could talk to someone about all the damages, didn’t get that email. Worse moving experience ever. Shame on Coffey BrosI want compensation for these damages. My fridge was barely 2 yrs and was in perfect condition. I have pictures of this messI have to give the men who did what they could to help me some credit. They were very respectful and they actually came back on their own time to help me.

We were left in a serious bind by another moving company. We called Coffey Bros and with short notice the immediately fit us in the following day. JR, Jimmy and Linton arrived full of energy, very personable and friendly. Fast and efficient they got the job done quicker than originally quoted. 10/10 great service next time we move I know just who Im calling thanks guys absolutely fantastic!

The moving crew were over three hours late and pushed back all of the service elevator timings at both locations. We used the packing option also. Very expensive clothing were thrown in boxes; they were too cheap to use the proper boxes to hang clothing. They broke a brand new bed frame then decided to just leave it behind. The movers were more interested in the apartment city views than actually doing their job. We filed a claim with the company and have yet to hear from them. This move that we were better off doing on our own cost us over $5k. Zero stars would be more fitting for this company.In regards to your response to the comment below, your company was hired by me for a move. These are legitimate claims that were made and I welcome your legal team. 🤦‍♂️

Hello. This is my 2nd time moving with this company. They offer excellent customer service and they wrapped glasses very nicely. The guys handle things with care and most importantly, they are very professional, friendly and responsible. I will recommend these guys to my family and friends for future references.

It was absolutely amazing. I used Coffee Brothers in 2017 & will ALWAYS recommend them to everyone, especially my sr. Citizen friends. I was looking for a moving company who could move furniture and items for a single bedroom unit a week before I need to leave my old apartment. Coffee Bros. Moving stepped in for the challenge and did an awesome job. Keep in mind, it was the last weekend of May 2021 and EVERYONE in Chicago was moving. Thank goodness they had a moving slot open that weekend.They provided me with exceptional service during my first call, setting up the move, getting a quote, and the initial paperwork.During the move I had two awesome dudes who wrapped all of my furniture, carefully moved-out everything down two narrow flights of stairs, loaded everything into the truck, which was followed by a smooth drive to my new apartment, and move-in of items into my new apartment. I signed all the required paperwork at the end, sent what I owed on the invoice, and that was a wrap. I actually ended up spending $100 less than what I expected to spend, so that was awesome.Overall an awesome experience and I would recommend Coffee Bros to others.Just a final thing, I think I got incredibly lucky in finding a moving company a week before a move, so a huge kudos to Coffee Bros for having an open time slot on such a short notice.In general, I recommend people call and schedule a moving company at least 2-3 weeks before a move. If people plan to move on a major moving weekend (the final weekends of a month, especially during Spring or Fall months), schedule at least a month in advance.

Coffey Bros provided excellent moving services. Our movers (shoutout Miguel, Andres and Oliver) were insanely flexible, professional, efficient, and skilled. This crew was a pleasure to work with and made my roommate and I feel very cared for! They were very adaptable to the obstacles that occurred on moving day (problems with construction and my apartment building having an unexpected issue with the loading dock) and really took away a lot of my stress. All of my stuff arrived in great shape! I would recommend this company and especially this crew to any family and friends!

Wow what an amazing team! We recently moved from Chicago to the burbs with 3 kids in tow, lets just say I was a bit unprepared come move day. I guess I didnt realize how much packing I was not going to get done with mom duties and work demands. Nonetheless, the movers called for more support/supplies and an additional truck to help me get it all completed in one day. I was a bit embarrassed that we had so much more packing left to do before they arrived but they were ready and willing to help. The bill did turn out higher than our estimate but understandably since I didnt prepare well. Again so thankful they were able to accommodate my changes at such shot notice. They took great care of my things, I didnt have any damage concerns and honestly I was a little concerned with recent reviews but I had a stellar team and no problems at all. I would recommend 100%I should note, that they did wrap all of my belongings with plastic and blankets and had some impressive moving skills to show off..lol So they are definitely the real deal here folks! My neighbors were moving out the same day we were and their movers never showed up.. I guess due to labor shortages. Man were we lucky they were able to accommodate my extra stuff!!!Oh and JR was my coordinator, he was such a pleasure to work with in the office.Thanks Coffey Bros!

JR led his crew Jimmy, Tony and Lynton to a speedy and efficient move. These guys have tons of patience and experience. Moving into a high rise with an window for elevator time is always a race against the clock. These men hustled and organized and staged and made it work. Outstanding performance.

When I received the estimate for my move I was told it would be completed in one day. I was very clear about what the move entailed including 3 stops. The move spilled over into the next morning. I was told the movers would meet us at any time that was convenient the next morning. They were told to come an hour and a half later than the time I requested wasting even more of my time. The move also cost $2000 more than the estimate I was given. I was also told I would only pay for the exact time that was needed the next morning but instead was charged a 2 hour minimum plus another travel fee. The crew was very nice and hardworking but the rest of the experience was terrible. Sadly I was a repeat customer which wont be the case in the future.

JR and Alonzo were fantastic! I had such a wonderful experience moving with Coffey Bros. They were super quick and efficient and made my move super smooth. They were very kind and handled by belongings with care. Ken also was very responsive and was available day of. I would highly recommend them for your move and will be using them in the future!Edit after unpacking all of my belongings: all of my furniture was heavily wrapped in blankets, shrink wrap and tape etc. I have not found any damage whatsoever, although I have done several moves and have gotten better at packing. Im surprised by all of the horrible experiences left by previous reviewers. I think JR went out of his way to make sure that everything was handled with care and asked me several times throughout the move how I thought it was going, if they were moving fast enough etc. Seems other customers either had different people with different experiences, or Coffey Bros has made some nice improvements! It took longer than expected, but mostly due to elevator issues on my buildings end.

I’m leaving this review a few months after my move because I just finished opening all the boxes. The reason I gave 3 stars, the move started off good but ended poorly. The sent two young men and it was going well but, then I saw my mattress 😳 two gapping holes, next I have yet to find the feet to my television. The guys took it apart and I haven’t found them yet. Call the drivers as soon a they pulled off… no answer. Call at least twenty times, left messages, nothing. Next my beautiful kitchen cart, broken. Last but nit least, I called the company and was basically told, “ don’t know how much you’ll get for the damages, might nit be worth it”. So 2 1/2-3 stars.

Updating this review:Short story is that we have not received our claim check (that has been approved).Long story: Its been months since our claims have been approved by their Claim Department, 2 months since 3 checks have been sent to our home and now its been 2 weeks with no reply to my emails asking for the next check (was a check ever sent) to be sent via certified mail so I could track it. They dont do wire transfers either..I moved in June and and got this claim approved in July. This has been outrageous.We had the best crew for our move! JR, Linton and Patrick were extremely kind, courteous and helpful. They showed up a little early and were much quicker than their estimate!I highly recommend Coffey Bros for your next move!

Short version: Coffey Bros. abandoned the job without completing it, and tried to charge us nearly double what we had already paid to come and complete it the next day. We ended up contracting with another company (Midway), who got it done for half what Coffey Bros. quoted me.We contracted with Coffey Bros. to unload our UHAUL when we arrived in Chicago from out of state. Our inventory (which Coffey Bros. saw and approved) included an antique, heavy upright piano.The crew alerted us that the piano was too heavy for their three person team to handle. We had no problem with that (obviously we dont want them endangering themselves), and assumed they would make a call and that the Coffey Bros. office would find a way to complete the work that we contracted with them to do.Instead: the crew left with the piano still on the truck, and the office did absolutely nothing about it. I called them four times that evening, and was never called back with a resolution. The next morning, Mark offered to send a crew to unload it - for nearly double what we had already paid for the work up to that point.We ended up having to contract with a different moving company to get the job done (Midway, in case youre wondering) - and they did, for less than half what Coffey Bros. quoted me. To be clear - I am not knocking the Coffey Bros. crew. This is about managements complete lack of willingness to adapt and deliver the service they promised.

Team that showed up was lead by Blake, and was efficient, friendly, safe, and overall did a good job. They showed up early and finished ahead of schedule. It was my first time using Coffey Bros for a move, and overall Im pleased. There were a couple dinged items here and there, unfortunately, which is why Im going with 4/5 stars. They were otherwise flexible and helpful and really apologetic, definitely going a step further. Im not happy about the damage, but its mostly minor, and Im appreciative of their gestures to make it up to me. I dont want to have to move house again anytime soon, but if I do, Ill probably look at Coffey Bros again. I think i would recommend them to others, as well. Im overall happy with their service

The Boens Brothers crew was amazing!! They completed the job even quicker than expected (so cost was below estimate) and were professional and great throughout. We would recommend them to anyone!!

One of the worst experiences. We agreed based on my manifest of items that I would need 4 movers. They come with 3.... so it takes significantly longer and thus more expensive. They damaged my trees backing into my driveway. They damaged my furniture and it took several days to realize this because they tried to hide it instead of being frank about the damage. Thats inexcusable. We told them what rooms items belonged and they basically put anything wherever they felt even though everything was clearly labeled. They damaged my wooden floors in both of my houses even though I explicitly asked them to bring matting to make sure this wouldnt happen like other movers would. They damaged my stairs, they damaged my tenants furniture. They slide the furniture around instead of lifting causing this damage. Then to top it off, they had the audacity to call me after I paid significantly more than the quote to ask for more money. When I relented and let them charge more, they charged even more than we agreed on and never gave me a receipt. They charged me for their lunch break (even though I paid for their lunch). Never use these people

If you’re looking for poor customer service and damage to your property and even your neighbor’s property, look no further. Our neighbors used this company to move. I saw the driver about to pull onto our property and asked them not to bring the truck in our driveway/yard. They did so anyways, tearing up our newly sodded lawn. To make matters worse, they weren’t going to tell us that they damaged our lawn! Then when I contacted the customer service team, they seemed to not care and actually implied this wasn’t a problem because “I wasn’t a customer”. A customer service agent even hung up on me. This company has pervasive employee issues, with many of them apparently lacking integrity — something you absolutely need in your movers. Look elsewhere.UPDATE: As youll see from the owners response below, they truly dont care about customers. Read their response. They first say they cant comment without hearing the recording (of my 5 calls with 5 different people). Then they proceed to say they wont engage. So first they admit they dont have the info or full story and then they say they wont help after Coffey Bros damaged property. This clear evidence of terrible customer service and lack of integrity should send you running. And just to be clear, even frustrated/angry customers should be helped - the best businesses do that. Of course people are angry when a random truck drives in their newly sodded lawn. Coffey Bros really showing their true colors.

I used Coffey Bros to make a local move in Chicago in the middle of the summer. My moving day was June 30th, potentially the most hype moving day of the year. Despite short notice, they accommodated my moving date and schedule. In terms of the actual move? I moved from a third floor apartment and the crew that came were INCREDIBLE. Their names are JR, Patrick, and Linton. From the beginning of the day each of them were kind, optimistic, and assured me about any of my concerns. JR was the foreman of the crew and he also communicated with me throughout the day (even before they arrived) to ensure that I knew how things were progressing, and how the move was aligning with my initial estimate. Despite having downpour of rain, all of my things were moved out of my apartment quickly and handled with care and dignity. This was the first time I have ever hired movers and I cannot recommend Coffey Bros enough, ESPECIALLY JR, LINTON, and PATRICK. They have my business for life.

Ive never used a moving service ever before and Im glad I chose Coffey Bros as my first choice. I cant believe how fast Patrick and JR wrapped and moved all my stuff and they were super friendly too! They did a quick assessment and jumped right in to the job with a lot of hustle. Good help is hard to find, Ill be using them again in the future.

Beyond dissatisfied with Coffey Bros.They will attract you with a decent price upfront (in my case, I was precise in regards to what I was moving and received a quote for $1,583.50 (Quote #4364 received in 07/02/2020). In that process I was persuaded to pay for a USD 100 insurance that would cover me up to $10,000.The setup process was not bad and the movers arrived on time to start the work, when I was kindly informed by the mover in charge that they would take no less than USD 50 in tips per person and usually USD 100 tip is ideal. Remember: the etiquette for tips for movers is 20 per person when they do a GREAT job.My issues started when they looked at the wardrobe we had and stated they could move it in 1 piece. I was sure that would not work, so I asked them to disassemble it, which never happened, forcing me to grab tools and start disassembling it myself. When I got to the frame, they once again said they would not separate the parts and moving the frame in 1 piece was safe. Wood flooring of the apartment was also damaged in the move-out process.After everything was removed from the apartment, it took them 45 minutes to start driving to the new address - all that time being paid by me.When we got the new address, the wardrobe was smashed - theyve said that would be covered by insurance and that I should not worry. Theyve continued with the move and ended up causing a deep scratch in my living rooms wood floor. At the end of the move, they have informed that they would be charging extra costs for materials, including freaking USD 308 for tape and shrink wrap - I can buy a factory of tapes and shrink wrap for that money! They have also charged me 45 minutes extra, exactly the time they were doing God know what after finishing up the loading of the truck in the old address.The finish this horror story, after several weeks of wait trying to get their feedback regarding my insurance claim, I was informed that all my claims have been DENIED, despite extensive materials / pictures being offered to attest their lack of professionalism while performing their work, using an abusive Engineered Wood Liability Release Form to justify the fact they wont pay me anything - if you are out of your mind and still considering hiring them, I beg you NOT TO sign this form for your own benefit.In the end of the day, my move ended up costing me:- USD 150 - paid in advance with zelle- USD 2,122.12 - paid after the move – same day- USD 220 - tips I stupidly gave to the movers==============================================TOTAL = 2,492.12Yes, that is it! A 1,000 swing from my original quote.If you see Coffey Bros = RUN AWAY!

This was a complete disaster start to finish. Two hours late arriving, and while I appreciated the heads up and reasoning given (truck broke down), that is where the professionalism ended. Not only did it take over 12 hours for a 2600 sq foot house despite 5+ guys working, there was significant damage to our walls and stairs. The movers were laughing and messing around, carelessly tossing things around, swearing, etc. Zero professionalism and frankly, some of the most inefficient movers I’ve ever hired. I would absolutely look elsewhere.

Edited: movers damaged my items, and didn’t tell me. Received the “industry standard” 39$ dollars back on a 3 week old 2000$ mattress. Hope this clears up my statement :)

Blake, Ramon and Martin and helped me move my one bedroom apartment within Chicago. They showed up right on time and went straight to pack all my furniture. Within 1.5 hours they were almost done loading the truck. Impeccable service.

I was quoted a 4 1/2 hour move which took 7 1/2 hours. I had a small 3 bedroom apartment with only one bedroom set. I have never experienced a move that took this long ever in my life. A king size platform bed and dining room table were the only two items needed to be broken down. Heavy items would be a medium book case and table top. I packed all of my things to make it an easy move. Yet with this being done they were still taking forever to have my items packed onto the truck. I even asked the guys if they could speed up the process because I needed to be out by a certain time. This was a 3 man crew by the way. Not only did it take forever, but they came in a tiny box truck, I’m sure the size of the truck played a huge part because they had to play Tetris to have all of my items packed in it. Needless to say all of my items were not packed, because I’m missing a few items. My wedding dress I had preserved was left in the back yard for two days. Thank God my old tenants called me to inform me I had a package delivered, needless to say it wasn’t a delivered package, but it was my WEDDING DRESS. I will never use this company again. I still tipped the movers because they took very good care of my items but the time it took and my most precious item left behind speaks volume.

My movers were JR, Linton and I forget the 3rds name. To start, JR told me he suggested a $70 tip per person before they even started! I get tips are standard in this business, but who actually tells you a suggested amount before they start the job? Tips are based on the performance and getting the job done. They were nice and talkative throughout the process, but ultimately caused some damage to items through negligence and carelessness. I have a wooden bed frame and they completely snapped the leg off the headboard - not an easy task to do unless you drop it. After a 16+ day process of getting minimal responses from the claims department, they told me I would be getting a check for $13.50 in the mail. That barely gets me a meal at McDonalds let alone a new bed. They never unloaded an art piece and it took multiple phone calls and emails to track it down and get a response. They finally did get it back to me 2 weeks later. I have a nice wooden table that suffered some scratches because they were using it as a surface to shrink-wrap other items. Nice guys, but moved too quickly which caused mistakes and came off too aggressive asking for a dollar tip amount plus below-average customer service/claims experience.CUSTOMER RESPONSE - appreciate the reply but your information and timeline is incorrect. My move occurred on 6/28 and I emailed JR Ortiz on 6/30 with pictures of the art piece and the broken bed asking for next steps to process the claim. The main guy who was onsite for the move told me he would take care of getting the claim started which never happened. I finally received an email from your claims department on 6/7 - here is what is said As for the claim Im going to have to ask that you fill out the proper forms (even if you sent things to JR already - sorry but THAT procedure I know) heres the boilerplate email and form...

I called this company because they were very highly rated and they did have the availability I was looking for. Unfortunately I wont know anything about their services. As I was getting the quote I asked some questions about the deposit $150.00 non-refundable which seemed surprising since I called several local companies in the area with similar ratings and their deposits were both smaller and more importantly refundable. We hadnt gotten to the price yet either which their estimate was $800 for a very small move. 1 bedroom of furniture with 5 large pieces, some boxes and a few small items.This cost estimate was double what other local moving companies were charging since I had called several. The representative got an attitude and tried to insist that the prices were standard which is just a lie since Id spoke to several other companies already. They have a right to charge what they want but their representative did not need to get an attitude about their pricing. Their services may be great but their pricing is double what other companies with the same rating and services charge.

My move ended up taking much longer and being more expensive than estimated. My inventory was accurate, weather conditions were good, and there was not a lot of traffic. I did have one piece of furniture that ended up being more difficult than expected, so some additional time/cost was to be expected. However, it should not have turned my 2.5 hour move into a 4 hour move. (The movers also arrived after the start window. They were not horribly late, but I was the first move of the day, so they were not late because a previous move ran over.) The movers were kind and professional during the move. They damaged the wall at my old apartment. I was told that somebody would reach out to me about next steps regarding repairs. Nobody ever contacted me. I reached out on my own and had a hard time getting in touch with somebody. When I did manage to get in touch with somebody, I was told that they would deny my claim and not repair the wall, despite the fact that I had purchased additional insurance. Also, one of the movers took my cell phone number off of the paperwork and sent me an unprofessional text from his personal number the night after my move asking to see me. I was happy with the service when preparing for my move, but I ultimately did not have a great experience with Coffey Bros.edit: The review above was the one I originally posted, which was two stars at the time. I subsequently received a long, unprofessional email from Coffey Bros in response to my review that had exclamation points, rhetorical questions, and words that were completely capitalized. The email asked me to take my review down and threatened legal action for defamation (despite everything in my review being true). This company is horribly unprofessional. I do not trust the legitimacy of their reviews at all, as they give discounts for good reviews and threaten legal action for less than great reviews.

Sam, Jesus and Emmanuel did a great job moving my mother-in-law from her apartment to an assisted living facility with a final stop to a storage unit. Got it all done with 3 stops in just over 5 hours. Great communication for booking and day of. Would recommend!.
