I love ice cream, probably too much. The Sundae Stop is awesome. First off, they have flavors I havent seen, but I wonder why they arent a huge thing... like strawberry-vanilla-orea, or peanut butter and jelly! It tastes like peanut butter and jelly! They have common flavors too! They have lots of vegan options too. Oh, and I have a friend whos son who is allergic to eggs and nuts, and they have these amazing cookie dough bites that he can eat. We both love them. Check out the Sundae Stop!

If you have not tried their crêpes youre really missing out! Its the best Ive tried. It was warm and the Nutella melted so nicely. TRY THE CRÊPES!!!

I went for the first time today. The aesthetic of the ice cream shop is amazing; everything is inspired by the CTA with emphasis on the red line. I got the Oero Sundae with Coffee Oreo and it was great!

Oh my goodness, so the ice cream is amazing, but somehow.. somehow they managed to make the best Cheddar broccoli soup in Chicago... they make soups during the colder times to bring people in and by golly- wow, HAVE THEY SUCCEEDED!

Sundae Stop is my new go to for ice cream in Chicago. The Fruity Pebbles is absolutely unmatched! So many amazing flavors to try here. My friends and I are obsessed with this place! I visited on Sunday unironocally 😆.They charged us twice and didnt ask if our orders were together or separate. Felt scammed and when we asked for a refund they handed us chocolate as an apology and said they have to talk to their boss. While the refund was issued a few days later, the ice cream was just ok. Cute shop though

I had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream in a waffle cone and it was AMAZING! They make the waffle cones fresh right in front of you and you can 100% taste the difference. All their ice creams are homemade in house and the CTA-inspired design of the location definitely aids itself to the overall atmosphere! 5+ stars.

Our usual stop after dinner. The peanut butter chocolate is our go-to. This visit the Oreos we’re on display, and we were curious about the creative display, which annoyed the server in the empty shop. She didn’t have the capacity to explain the Oreo themed specialties. Then suddenly she felt the need for small talk and made the entire transaction awkward. This is the sound of my feet voting, not to return. Bye-ye

The delicious smell of waffle cones being made was the first delightful impression of Sundae Stop. The staff was super friendly and attentive as we asked to taste many different flavors before choosing our favorite ones. The ice cream was full of flavor and they offer unique flavors such as Ube, Fruity Pebbles, and PB&J as well as the classics. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly.

UPDATE: The owner replied and demonstrated they really dont care about actually listening to customers/are clueless about running a business so my rating is down to 2 stars. I would have been willing to give this place another try, but now that I see what kind of person the owner is, I will NOT go back. 1. Our mocha is rich otherwise it would be thin and boring - what? That makes NO sense. Your mocha is literally thicker than molasses and richer than dark chocolate fudge. The formula is clearly off. Ive had vegan mocha ice cream before that was actually good, so your very strange argument as to why you cant fix the problem is ridiculous. Youre saying theres no in-between, its either water or ultra-rich? Nope, thats false, and shows youre unwilling to accept valid feedback from customers or make necessary changes. 2. If youd read my review, I said the NON-ICE CREAM vegan items arent listed anywhere! So nobody has any idea what those are! I literally said your flavors are already posted, but everything else isnt. 3. Yet again - it wasnt even the ice cream that was out of stock, it was everything else. Several ice cream flavors were out, sure, but everything else was out too. Stuff Id read about online and in other reviews was not in stock, and staff didnt know when it would be available again. Also, if you dont have enough ice cream to make it to Saturday evening (day one of the busy weekend) that sounds like a consistent problem anticipating customer demand. You should not be selling out so early of everything. 4. OK so I was charged $20 for three scoops of ice cream in a dish? And this would be the first time in my 30 years that an ice cream shop hasnt charged a penny for toppings. I dont believe this is true. Nowhere is it posted that toppings are free.Original review:While I was really happy to see so many awesome vegan options, pretty much everything was out of stock and they werent sure when itd be back in. Also, nothing listed the vegan options. Sure, there was a list of vegan ice creams, but nothing that listed out what toppings, baked goods, cones, etc. were vegan friendly. The cashier tried to tell us, but it was super hard to hear (loud in there), so we didnt catch most of it. The vegan mocha ice cream I would never order again. This is a great local ice cream shop! Typically we would go to Oberweis, but they were unexpectedly closed and I’m glad they were, as it gave us a chance to try something new. We had turtle sundaes with butter pecan ice cream and they were so good - especially with their pralines on top, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. The guy that helped us out was so nice too! Can’t wait to try them again!

One of the best vanilla milkshakes Ive ever had. A lot of times, vanilla milkshakes will be wayyy too sweet, and almost make you thirsty? That was definitely not the case with Sundae stop.Milkshake was super creamy and delicious. I will definitely be back to try some of their more fun flavors.

Paid $7 for a single scoop of vegan key lime pie ice cream. Was basically a hunk of ice with some like flavoring. Theming is cool but food is overpriced and not very good.

Delicious ice cream with lots of vegan options. Im not vegan but I almost got the vegan key lime flavor because it was so tasty. I ended up with a coffee cookies and cream which was 👌👌👌Not cheap, but not crazy prices either. The kids size is plenty for one person.

They guys at the Sundae Stop are amazingly friendly and make a mean waffle cone. They make them right before your eyes. And they make their ice cream onsite in small, delicious batches. Ive never had an ice cream cone dripping with hot fudge, but now I cant imagine having it any other way.And their cookies are the bomb. I had a chocolate chip cookie and it really hit the spot.If you find yourself near the Belmont Brown or Red Line Stop, so in and give something a try. Youll be glad you did.

Not sure if we went on an off night or what... customers behind us were helped first, line was backing up when they weren’t that busy, one staffer was manhandling a banana split, and the other gentleman gave us a hard time about him putting on gloves to scoop the ice cream, I might add he was pretty sweaty. Probably not going back there...

Amazing flavors and vegan/dairy free options! They were so friendly and knowledgeable of the ingredients. Love that everything is homemade. Really hope they add more almond milk based flavors soon as I can’t have coconut milk. The vegan mocha was perfection!

The chocolate ice cream has Nutella in it and it is hands down the most incredible chocolate ice cream Ive ever had.

This was my first time here and we were welcomed with open arms. We were greeted at the door. As we approached the counter we were told about the days specials and other offers available for purchase. The two associates worked as a team to provide us with a speedy service. They informed us of the options we had and repeated our orders back to us to ensure they got it right. They deserve all 5 stars kudos ... NOW the parking enforcement officer on the opposite of the street thats a different story.

My co worker and I went to this ice cream shop today after work! Absolutely amazing! Great Customer service, friendly attentive staff and the ice cream is the best you will ever taste! We even met the owners as well! This is such a cute place! Worth stopping by. I recommend the Oreo! So good!

Something about the owner of this shop just doesnt sit right with me. Its like every time me and my girlfriend stop by hes just constantly invading childrens space. Very talkative to young boys. Real shady business going on here.

The home made ice cream was stellar but what truly stands out about this place is the customer service. Genuinely nice people work there and make you want to come back time and time again.

This place has so many things that should be in every ice cream shop. For one thing, they have excellent flavors and use top notch ingredients. Another thing is that the sundae stop has is amazing workers who are really kind to everyone. Ill be back soon!

The Sundae stop was just a random place I choose after getting dinner. I am very happy that I found this place. I got an oreo sundae and its bogo on Sunday. It was extremely tasty and its very nostalgic as it reminded me if my days riding on the Redline train to and from work. I will definitely be back here. It was an amazing discovery!

Sundae Stop was a great experience, even on a cold, snowy evening! They have some great creations of both cookie dough and ice cream varieties, offering shakes and sorbet, as well as sundaes and a never before seen taco cone. The decor of the location is fantasticly Chicago, featuring art of the train lines and train seats for table chairs. The staff were super nice and kind, and a staff member (who I believe is an owner) remembered all our names as we walked out, wishing us well. Definitely give it a try, its a new place on the block that has what it takes to stay. 👍

Extremely friendly and helpful staff made visiting here a joy. The ice creams were delicious, and after sampling the cookie doughs, I know thats what Ill be having next time. This has become a top spot in the dessert rotation in Lakeview!

Cookie dough bites were not my taste. Too sweet and artificial tasting for me. Sadly, did not try the ice cream so unsure about it.

Best chocolate pb ice cream I have ever tasted. Its so rich and smooth. Plus getting it in a brownie Sundae is just the ultimate dessert. My parents tasted it too when I brought leftovers home and they were flippin out!

Stoped in for their free tasting, omg so delicious. The apple pie was great and they had a coffee and oreo that was great but I dont recomend having a large amount at once as its a bit strong but is great in a small amount.
