She was kind, transparent, knowledgeable, helpful, and made the entire experience one that made you feel like you were on a vacation at a 5 star ⭐️ resort and you didn’t want to leave. She “deserves” to have her own location and be a store manager. Like seriously. My late father’s business was successful on the greater south side of Chicago for over 50 years. So I know full well what “old fashioned customer service” truly is. In fact, the other two associates were very pleasant when interacting with them too. The people at Road Runner are friendly and professional. This store is geared towards the serious runner and will always have the up-to-date running shoe. The best thing I can note is the proprietary insoles that are molded to fit your feet with their equipment. At different thicknesses these insoles can be chosen to perfectly fit in any shoe and will provide excellent comfort. The associates will help you find the right shoe for your fitness needs. Brand is not the only plus here the different types of soles depending on your needs will make you think differently about what makes the perfect shoe. Road Runner has the ability to do this for you. Also the insoles are interchangeable between shoe.Whatever level of fitness you’re on I recommend Road Runner. Go and pay them a visit it will be worth it. I love roadrunner sport, when I was just getting started and didn’t know what would feel good they gave me plenty of opportunities to experiment with different pieces of gear over months until I found what worked. Now that I’m in marathon training they provide much support. I won’t shop anywhere else

Quickest shoe buying experience! I went in with a general idea of what I was looking for but my Fit Expert, Rene, made it easy to find the perfect shoes. He was very knowledgeable and really listened to what I needed. I’m glad he recommended I try the shoes on and run on the treadmill because that was the selling point for me. Your Lincoln Park location allows a predatory towing company to monitor the parking lot. This results in harassment and harm to long term customers of RR sports. Until you correct this, no customers of yours, no matter how loyal, should come to the Lincoln Park location.

I have been a fan of Road Runner Sports for a while now, but only online. I have to say that my first visit to an actual store was simply amazing. A huge place with a great stock of running shoes and everyone was super friendly. I have to give a big shout out to Cailyn though. She was such a tremendous help and very knowledgable. Thanks to her for having me take a run on the treadmill before purchasing my shoes and even suggesting to have me fitted for custom insoles, which I also ended up buying as well. Today was my first time here; actually, it was my first time buying running shoes (don’t look at me that way; I know it’s crazy!) Renee was kind and considerably knowledgeable - he knew his stuff! I had no idea what kind of feet I had! (I know, crazy again) I was nearly a size bigger than I thought and the left foot is so much more different than the right. I was flabbergasted. He recommended some shoes for me and I ended up purchasing those and the insoles! It was an enlightening experience and Renee was just awesome! I suggest everyone give this a try once in their life. I can’t wait to be in my shoes all day, every day!

Went in for a pair of shoes to wear in the gym when Im working with the trainer, not a pair specifically for running. Staff was attentive, knows their stuff and didnt try to oversell. The first pair of shoes suggested was actually the current model of a pair of New Balance that Ive purchased 4 previous times so I took a pass this time. No worries; I tried on 3 other shoes and purchased a pair of Asics that fit really well. I picked up some socks too. This shopping trip was by far a better experience than when Ive gone to a similar store in the neighborhood. I will be back next time I need a new pair of shoes.

Ive bought three pairs of runners from Road Runner since 2016. The thing that keeps me coming back is the knowledge of their associates with why certain shoes may make sense for my foot and arch. Again, each step of the way, with the sole customization, through the shoe walk or try-on is never rushed. Every piece of their customer experience is at your pace, and is why I think they are a leader in shoes for runners of all types.

My fit expert Ibrahim was great! Not only did he help me get a great pair of running shoes, but also a great custom insole as well. I would highly recommend and return to this location.

Be aware that the foot analysis process takes 1-2 hours and plan accordingly. We started running recently and needed better shoes. Read good reviews regarding how Road Runner measures your feet to advise you on the perfect pair of shoes. We rushed over there on the train after work in the city, ready to buy the perfect pair of shoes. Got to the store at about 6:05pm. No one offered help for an additional 5 minutes. Then we were told that the foot measurement process takes 1-2 hours (closing was at 7pm) and we were advised to come back on Saturday. I thought we could be in and out within 45 minutes; apparently not. Disappointed.

I went in today looking for new running shoes. I have flat feet and needed supportive running shoes as mine are pretty worn out. I’ve never written a review before but felt as if I needed to because the customer service was absolutely phenomenal! Jerry was so so great at taking time to listen to my needs and help me customize insoles and a great pair of Brooks. They did an analysis of my foot, they way I walk etc. to help narrow down what shoes to pick. It was an awesome, personalized process. It was definitely the lunch hour rush yet I was in and out of there under 30 mins (including the foot analysis and customizing insoles). 10/10 will be back!

I had the best experience at Road Runner sports ... so much that I need to share . The woman who assisted me was super helpful find my HOKA shoe size and pick out the best color for my needs. When I went to check out the manager? Was there and together the came up with the very lowest price available. I was truly blown away. We recently went in to buy my son running shoes and we’re greeted by Herman. Herman was very personable and knowledgeable. He did an analysis on my son’s walking and running gate to help select the appropriate shoe for him. After the analysis we learned that he was a running coach who has coached at University of Michigan and USC. He was awesome, which made our experience great! My wife ended up buying new running shoes as well.

The knowledge and helpfulness at this store is amazing. Specifically this guy named Stephen. The first time I went in he made me my custom orthotics. He listened to my needs and helped me decide which one was best for me. I took my daughter who has super flat feet and my husband who has heel pain and they both left with the perfect pair of shoes for each of them. Online shopping is fine but if you really want someone to talk you through finding the best pair of shoes for you go to someone who is as knowledgeable and kind as Stephen.

I have bough 2 pairs of shoes from Road Runner. The first pair was not bad because i just wanted a casual walking shoe. The second i wanted a running shoe and was directed to try on some pairs and see how it felt. Unfortunately they did not have my size in the store that day and i was recommended to buy the shoe online, which i did on my phone in store. While checking out i was signed up for a VIP membership for 40-50$ annually that i have been unable to cancel for 2 months. you must call a number that puts you on hold for 30+ minutes then hangs up with no resolution.Overall the shoe selections is not bad at all, im very happy with the first pair, and moderately happy with the running shoe pair but considering this store was unable to help me with my Membership issues, when they are the ones that told me to sign up for it for a discount on the shoes, is unfortunate.Edit: I have been able to cancel my annual subscription after a third phone call/hold. my review of the shoes stands, and while i disagree with the corporate practices, it does not take away from this specific location its self, the employees were kind in store

I visited Roadrunner Sports this week and had a fabulous experience. Rene--who helped fit me for a new pair of running shoes--was knowledgeable, helpful, upfront, and transparent about every step of the process. I didnt feel rushed or pressured, and I left with a pair of shoes that made me excited for my next run.Ask for Rene if you plan to visit--cant recommend enough!

If I could give more than five stars, I would! I visited Road Runner on June 9 to buy a new pair of running shoes. The last time I visited in December, I was welcomed, but the person who assisted me asked if I knew what I wanted, got the shoes, asked if they fit, and said, Ill meet you at the counter. He was not helpful at all.June 9 was a totally different experience! Allison greeted me at the door where I was waiting to enter because of Covid precautions. She asked why I had come in - to buy shoes or accessories. I said both! She took me to a six-point analysis machine and the I was able to see on screen that my feet are of average width, I have high arches, etc. I also walked on the treadmill (would have worn my running shoes but expected the experience from December...) and Allison then showed how my Achilles looks at different points of my stride.This was all so helpful. She then took all of that information and brought out shoes for me to wear based on the data and her assessment: I need a shoe with stability, for example.I tried on two pairs of shoes and ended up with Asics Gel Kayano again...I just cant quit Asics! I was also fitted for custom inserts that I ended up buying. The inserts last 1000 miles of running, so I thought it was worth it to try this time.I cant recommend Road Runner enough, especially the service given by Allison (and honestly there was another sales consultant there who seemed to be giving great service, too).

My husband and I went here to look for shoes I saw online. We expected to go in, try on shoes, and leave. What we got was a fully comprehensive, educational and personal experience that resulted in the PERFECT shoes, inserts, and socks. Dakota from the Kingsbury Chicago location was fantastically helpful. He was so informative, kind and efficient. After he helped me find my shoes, I encouraged my husband to buy shoes too with Dakota since he was just THAT GOOD, and we did not want to wait and come back another time and not get the great experience we had with Dakota. Dakota spent 2hours with us trying on shoes, using the treadmill, analyzing our feet/walking. He was fantastic. He shared his favorite styles of shoes, but also had us try on many types of shoes so we could make our own decision that is best for us. He was perfection. If there is a employee award/recognition, he 100% deserves it!

Walked in wearing a pair of running shoes that I thought were the perfect shoes and size and walked out w shoes and insoles that were night and day different than ones I started with. Ethan was the store associate that helped me out during my latest visit. He was really nice and knowledgeable about running. We shared our personal records and he fitted me with some custom insoles.I’ve been going to Road Runner Sports for over two years and have bought 2 different pair of shoes, 2 insoles, some shorts, socks, etc. Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive to visit a specialty running store that I’d previously never heard of before. The first time I stopped in they won me over with incredible customer service; everyone was so happy and willing to help. Not only were the employees hustling with a smile on their face, but they were genuinely having a good time. I can only speak from the outside looking in, but this seems like a good company to work for.What keeps me going back is the technology they use to create custom insoles and educate you on what type of shoes best support your individual running style. I’m tough on my feet which has led to some injuries and had been running with the very cumbersome and expensive Brooks Beast because of the cushion technology offered in such a hulking shoe. The staff was quick to point me elsewhere and I’ve upgraded to a lighter Brooks running shoe with custom insoles to support my high arches.I’d consider myself a veteran, but each time I visit Road Runner Sports I learn something new about myself and the hobby. I really like this place and highly recommend it if you’re looking to find a shoe that’s going to aid you in your journey as opposed to simply finding a shoe that fits.

DAVID was extremely helpful in fitting me for new running shoes and inserts after showing my walk in slow motion and a very accurate digital rendition of both my feet, including arch height and step angles. I liked the tech, but more importantly the expertise.

I came in looking for running shoes and advice on what best shoe would work for me, but the staff did not seem very knowledgeable. I tried speaking to their manager and she offered very little to help. I would better recommend you go to Fleet Feet if you need to purchase any type of shoe. They actually insure that you are walking out with shoes that will work best for whatever you are training for.

The store has a nice layout which helps decrease the overwhelming feeling that a lot of sporting goods stores create. Each customer who arrived while I was there was greeted by a salesperson who offered and helped them find shoes that properly applied to their running goals and foot specifics. Their membership program provided instant benefits and is reasonably priced for even the once a year shopper. Overall a great experience shopping here.

I love road runner sports, they have a free assessment for people to get fitted in the correct running shoe. The associates were very kind and patient. They explained every step and all the information grabbed by: a short record of you running barefooted, and a machine that takes a scan and accurate measurement of your foot for the mouse accurate size. I never knew I was half a size bigger on my right foot and now I know why I always wanted a wider or bigger shoe. Very awesome experience and informatiom for myself.

Best experience I’ve ever had at a shoe/running store. Thought of myself as an intermediate runner with a good idea of what I needed. What I loved about this place is that they do super in depth fit test to figure out what shoe best fits your foot. When I arrived Ethan had me do that first thing. He is a college runner with an insane amount of knowledge of running, running form and shoe fit. Figured out I had a half size difference between my feet, and that I had high arches and rigid ankle stability. I was set up with a shoe and insoles based on the fit test and my personal preferences. Tested out the shoes and they were great and 1000x better with the insoles. You can buy worry free knowing that if you don’t end up liking the shoes you can bring them back and they will set you up with another pair. Can’t thank Ethan enough for improving my run time!!
