I was able to buy what I needed. However, MAC cant provide the same experience with not being able to sample makeup on you or do makeovers. That of course was unfortunate.

I live by my Mac, best cosmetics ever I mean ever however I was at the 540 Michigan store Chicago III made a purchase with the hopes of using my Mac pro membership discount, had my receipt emailed to me headed back to Michigan checked my email to find out that I never received my pro discount..called the store immediately In was told there isn’t anything that can be done unless you come back to the store.. I just feel that as long as you have your receipt with all the information and as long as the sales person can pull up your information that they should’ve been able to reimburse my discount..Poor customer service especially when it’s the SALES PERSON ERROR...not a fan of store 540 N Michigan
Rude - I wasn’t allowed to enter the store. They had a sales associate stand right at the entrance preventing people from entering and they only had one customer inside - I will not visit this store again
I ended up at MAC pro for a special event exclusive to members but was extended to yelp elite! Lucky me! I just started getting into makeup a year or so ago so it was nice to learn new tips and tricks that I can utilize on myself. The class was taught by Keri and Sandy who were both great and knowledgeable MUAs. It was a nice event. A 15% discount was offered for the evening which I didnt use because I didnt know exactly what I wanted to buy.I only gave 4 stars because an exclusive goodie bag was suppose to be offered at the event and I didnt receive anything.
Awesome experience! As someone who doesn’t wear makeup often, I wasn’t sure how to color match my foundation. Morgan helped me, and she made the experience so fun and easy - she tried a few different kinds/colors, asked me questions about what I like and don’t like, and answered all my questions. She was super pleasant and sweet, and just all around helpful. This is after I was at the dior counter at saks and decided not to purchase because the salesperson was stale and told me my beauty regime wasn’t “up to par.” Night and day experiences! MAC products were awesome but Morgan was the best part! Thanks!

I purchased the wrong shade of concealer at a different MAC location, and only had a few minutes to run into 540 N Michigan Ave to exchange it. Aileen greeted me with a smile and asked how she could help. I explained that I purchased the wrong shade and only had a few minutes in between meetings. She was very friendly, asked the right questions, made suggestions and got me out of there very quickly. I appreciated her expertise and her respect of my time. I love MAC products, but will return to this location each time I am in Chicago to see Aileen : - )
Havent seen a Mac store in forever. Was able to get my make-up done a great artist named Noah. Love him. I couldnt stop taking pics of myself with the amazing job he did on me.

I have been a Mac cosmetics customers for years. I love the products, the quality, the price. However, there is one thing that always disappoints me no matter the Mac store! I have visited a couple of Mac stores in different States ( Seattle, Indianapolis, Chicago to name a few) and I always had the same issue. The salesperson never made an attempt to make any further suggestions. I might be going in to get certain things but it’s their job to ask further questions, understand my needs and suggests products that I might not even know they have.On top of it, many times I have gone to the register just to discover that I have been given the wrong shade of a product or a different product and with no apology they salesperson would go on to say that she substituted what I needed with something similar because they didn’t actually have what I was asking for!!What I feel that Mac is missing is classy, well educated in cosmetics salespeople.If you visit other high brand cosmetic stores you immediately realize the difference in customer service and knowledge and this at last is enough to get you away from Mac.I have ended buying Mac products on line just to avoid the disappointment of interacting with the salespeople.
One of the best MAC stores to get help at! Super friendly staff that is willing to help you find the perfect makeup. They were out of something I needed called the Nordstroms Mac counter next door and had it put on hold for me.
MAC is my favorite make-up brand and this location doesnt disappoint. Jessica S helped my sister and I find new shades for a new, fresh everyday look and she took her time to teach us each step/technique as she applied. The space itself is a little tight with all of the guests, but I expected it to be crowded this time of year on Michigan Ave. Also, they have quite the display of chromacakes and airbrush accessories since its a Pro Store!

What can I say. Its MAC. hotel was next to the second year in a row. Needed some things *restock( and salesman was great. Really knew his stuff. Im picky. His makeup looked better than mine. Thats MAC!!!
Went in to ask for help with eyeshadows since I was getting my engagement pictures done and it wasnt coming out how I wanted it to. Everyone was so helpful. I had the best experience with one of your employees showed me step by step what to do and helped me apply my eyeshadow, eyelashes, and even showed me how to do my eyebrows (which I have been doing all wrong). She seriously saved me! And my engagement picture turned out amazing. Im in debt to her forever!

They recommended wrong foundation even though I told them I have dry skin, still gave me something that caused bumps on my face. I went there to shop again and told them about what they did to me, appreantly they did not welcome that and they were never nice to me. Pretty sure because of the way I look because i watched them while dealing with other customer and they were nicer to them. So disappointed:(
I was close to leave the store, despite the fact that no other store in Chicago accepts M.A.C. gift cards. The service at this store is a mess! Workers simply look at you as an obligation, not as a client. They treat you bad, have no patience to attend, and provide a very poor service overall. Just a glimpse of what I went through over there: I arrived at the store with a gift card, asked a person to check how much I had in it and she told me somebody would help me. This guy comes and very impatient tells me I have $20 and I tell him my friend recommended two products and I wanted to know their prices. Like it was an obligation, he tells me, but I make up my mind and decide to go for a foundation. He asks me my type of skin and I tell him I dont know, to which he answers: really? o_0 I was with two other friends and they asked him exactly what a concealer worked for, to which he answered: a concealer... conceals! At this point we were about to leave the store, when I decided to grab my product and he put the cherry on top of his crappy service by handling me the product with the receipt and asking me: do you want a bag? And then it was my turn: really?

First time in a long time that I did not feel lame in a MAC store- sometimes the staff can be pertencious. Great service that went above and beyond, ultimately getting me to buy waaay more than I planned.

This Mac Cosmetics location is the best in Chicago. The staff are well educated and have a passion for the latest trends. After a few minutes, you will be well informed about what you need to improve your image.
Mac makeup is great but the employees here seemed to be kinda harsh. I didnt totally feel welcome and possibly judged for being there. Maybe everyone was having a bad day but I dont seem to want to go there again.Ill just order online or go to a department store MAC where employees tend to be more friendly.
Rock n roll clubs have nothing on the decibel level at MAC Michigan Avenue store and the customer service was so poor almost hateful. Have you ever been anywhere where the music was so loud you couldnt even hear yourself think ? I had to shout for the clerks to even hear me, lip reading would have come in handy and if that were not enough the staff not only unhelpful, but actually rude. From now on I will ONLY buy MAC at Nordstrom where they know how to treat a customer.

Hosea and Jessica are the best Makeup Artists/ Sales Associate ever!.. both so ethical, friendly, and deligent in their trade.. Jessica Started doing my makeup when the girls at the Watertower MAC counter refused me on the day that was meant to be my son’s bday because one had to leave and the other were just there laughing on the phone even though I did book that day in advance 😏 .. We had to call Bloomingdales if they could help and mind you, my son’s 4th bday party is going on and I’m downtown in tears looking like why me(smh) but Jessica left all she was doing and she made me feel so comfortable and beautiful:) .. likewise Hosea did the same when I called impromptu Dec 3rd to get my makeup done. He accepted my late appointment + made me look so on fleek (Lol google the meaning) and he is also funny.. SO GUYS, thank you so very much and God bless the work of your hands 🙏🏽
I was in the store yesterday and couldnt get legitimate help from ANYONE. My friend was with me and had the complete opposite experience, which I suppose is what made it so frustrating. She and I both wanted to pick out a few eyeshadows and she eventually got help picking out three. I, on the other hand, could get no help from the woman assisting her, who kept dodging my questions about pigments (which I now understand I should have bought instead) by telling me repeatedly its messy and refusing eye contact while helping two other women who had just walked in. I understood that they were busy, so I looked around for help from someone else to no avail.Finally, an associate said she would send someone over to help me and never did. I wound up picking out a color on my own (that I am not completely happy with) and was rushed through check out, while my friend got polite responses and an offer to register her email so that she could save the colors shed purchased.I was really excited for my first trip to the store but will not be going back or buying MAC products.

I purchased a lipstick, and they by accident sold me wrong color . I wanted to exchange it for the right color, it was passed 30 days, so manedger name Gary tald me that it is too much to ask to fix that sales person mistake, cause its been a lot more than 30 days after I bought it. Worst customer service ever. I have been buying make up in MAC for years now, so upsetting to receive this kind of treatment.

Very disappointed! I went into mac last night for the taraji p henson early release. I had my email to let them know that I was invited but not invited to the meet and greet perfectly fine, now once she left I came back and no one would not open the door for me I had been waiting for 30 mins so I really wanted to buy the products and go but they acted as if I was a crazy really nasty and rude I see why alot of people dont care for mac as much anymore I was able to get the products but wow not cool at all I swear this location is not the best!
