Looks pretty good wish they didn’t label them Vietnamese food because it is not.The food is average (3 stars)on the salty side. The kind greeting from the owner to the rest of the customers was great to see.The spring rolls did have fresh veggies with a heavy peanut sauce that was not helpful.The Vietnamese sandwich was a bit odd. The bread was doughy, the meat thick and salty, the pickled radish and carrots made the sandwich wet. Cucumber and cilantro were too few and the essential mayo missing.The pho? Well, a hint of lemongrass likely from a package with warm soup just isn’t gonna make the noodles blend with the toppings. The veggies were fresh but the large cut green onions stayed raw while the sprouts and basils barely cooked. The soup just didn’t blend at all .

I had the veggie and rice with chicken. The seasoning was wonderful, so many vegetables, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Often times, I think chicken in Asain dishes is overcooked. Not in this dish. Woke up this morning wanting to go back.This was my first of many visits. There are so many dishes I look forward to trying.

The food here is awesome and the owner is friendly and had a great attitude. The menu is small but we ordered two different dishes and they were both fantastic. Ill be back when Im back in town for sure!

Great customer service. Greeted from the moment we walked into the door with a smile and pleasantries. This experience is hard to come by in these post-covid times so we were very excited we visited this restaurant. But the Vietnamese food was not what we are accustomed. We know how to make the foods we ordered at home so we could tell it was not homemade and some authentic flavors were replaced with salt.

Delicious little place hidden in the walmart plaza. Every item on the menu is amazing, with some surprising options. Avocado smoothies, fresh tomato juice (not thick and salty like a v8), and giant delicious pho bowls. I got a Vietnamese coffee which was very good! Its nice for lunch, you can grab a sandwich and eat it outside to enjoy the view. Stop reading and go :)

Wow! Spectacular food and great service. I am from out of town and will return here anytime I come through Chattanooga. I have a Thai MIL and this dish is spot on. I asked for spicy and they did not disappoint. So thankful for the Thai Curry that warmed my belly on a cold day.

Ive seen this little place sitting in the plaza for a few years now but I had never gotten around to trying it. What a mistake that was! I finally tried it today and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was great! I will definitely be coming here again and telling others about it.

Didn’t think I’d ever see a restaurant like this in Chattanooga, I got really lucky finding this place. The fresh salad roll with shrimp made for a great lunch and is a healthy alternative to other local dining options. Highly recommend!!

This is the best Asian food in Chattanooga.My son and I went to the cafe & toast (thats right, no upper case letter) on its first day of operation,. Located in a strip mall next to the Lookout Valley WalMart, cafe & toast has had signs up for months that touted Singapore and Vietnamese cuisine.The menu is not extensive, but has what I consider the basics of Vietnamese food - pho, buns (banh mi), noodles and rice dishes. I selected the beef noodles. My son is a vegetarian, but they quickly said they could alter anything to be meat free. He opted for noodles with veggies. We also ordered some spring rolls made with the Vietnamese rice paper.All of the food was excellent. Portions were generous, but not massive. They brought out some sweet chili sauce to compliment the Sriracha, Hoisin, and soy sauce bottles on the table. Our water glasses were constantly refreshed and we were checked on several times.This is a great place and I look forward to trying all of their food.

Last night, I splurged and had dinner delivered. I ordered the chicken pho ga and some beef bun. It was the first time I have ever tried this restaurant and I have got to tell you… The food is unbelievably delicious. If I lived in Lookout Valley I would probably be there for every meal. Always wanted to try Vietnamese and finally did. I liked it better than most Chinese, but not as much as Twainiese. I like distinctive flavors and what I ordered was fine, but every bite was the same.

I am not sure what I was expecting when I brought my family to this restaurant. I always have high hopes for new restaurants that me and my family try when we are traveling.This one was just right down the road from our hotel and my daughter decided on this place and off we went. To say this place far exceeded any expectations we had going in would be an understatement.The three dishes we tried all had great flavor and were plentiful. My only disappointment is that this place isnt anywhere close to home!

Visited this restaurant as it boasted of Singapore cuisine. Being a true blue Singaporean, this is nothing Singaporean AT ALL. I ordered noodles and as you can see in the picture, it is so sad looking. It tastes horrible. I found huge chunks of raw garlic in my food. I felt cheated and disgusted. My husband ordered a Vietnamese dry vermicelli with extra pork. It didnt come with extra pork. It seems like they have trouble understanding English. When the order came, it tastes just as bad. They cant cook Vietnamese and Singaporean food. Also, the only customers we see come in are white people. This should tell you a lot of its authenticity.

The rices dishes may be good by the looks of. Their flavoring of a wanton/dumpling soup has subpar noodles as I was expecting egg noodles and the broth was unspectacular. Contains nothing flavorful that a wonton soup should contain. It was a throw spices in kind of mismatch soup of the day and the non Asian demographic wont know what a good soup taste like. The spring rolls were okay with lots of rice noodles and not the real vermecelli, which is an alternate yet not as good. The sauce that came with that is just a sweet mildly nutty type. Like another Singaporean reviewer said, this is not authentic despite the cashier was. Dissapointing over all.

The chicken pho was amazing! They used both cilantro and basil in the broth and gave it excellent flavor.

This is the absolute most fresh tasting place that I’ve been to in a while. And the hot milk tea is absolutely delicious.

The whole family got food sickness after eating here. None of the dishes tasted like they should. The leftovers were rancid two days later, stinking up the fridge.

Perfect. Best Asian cuisine in Chattanooga, TN. Owner/manager is very humble and polite. He will help newcomers to Viet cuisine decide what they would enjoy best. Service with a smile, and the best Viet cuisine this side of the Pacific. New Orleans has the largest Viet population outside of their nation, so I was lucky enough to be well experienced in their cuisine, which differs greatly from what most Americans think of when Japanese, Chinese, or Thai. I have tried places from NOLA to Portland, Oregon. This place is incredible. The food was perfect. Fresh, flavourful, just fantastic. Best Bun EVER. I have yet to try their Thai, but I am sure it is stellar as well. Prices on a budget are also easy to find, whether lunch specials are available or not. Try the milk tea! You will regret not coming sooner. I was humbled by the quality and the cleanliness. The owner also pays attention to the energy and vibe of his restaurant. Very special place. HIGHLY recommended, for the curious or the experienced palate.

Went there Friday evening, waited for 4 mins, before I was told to be seated. Then waited at a table with my kids and wife for 20 minutes and no one came to take our order, so we left..VERY disappointed..I heard they had great food...

Friendly, helpful, funny owner. The menu isn’t extensive but everything is fresh and made in house; they’ll adjust the content and spiciness of their dishes to accommodate your taste. Steamed dumplings and spring rolls were outstanding. We had shrimp fried rice that included a generous portion of perfectly cooked shrimp. No alcohol served here but you may be able to bring your own (?). The total bill for 2, including a generous tip was $40. Where else can you eat so reasonably outside of fast food joints?

Ordered via DoorDash. Pho was good, although I didn’t receive chopsticks or hoisin and sriracha on the side. The broth was good enough that I didn’t need the condiments though. The banh mi looks good and so does the pork and rice dish. Can’t wait for lunch tomorrow! Definitely recommend checking out this restaurant.

We ate here based in the reviews. Visiting from out of town. Started with the Salad Rolls - they fell apart and the peanut sauce was runny. They were okay. I had the shrimp pho, large pieces of shrimp but the broth was very salty. My guy had the Fried Rice with shrimp, chicken and beef was basically Chinese. Large shrimp but again salty and just alright. Not impressed!

I drove by this place so many times, and decided to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The garlic chicken and rice was really flavorful and great texture. Ill be coming back here in the future.

My first time at Cafe & Toast. Met friends for lunch and since I had no experience with this cusine I asked the owner to order for me. He brought me the Singapore fried rice with chicken. It was wonderful. So much so that I ordered another to take home to my husband. Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful atmosphere.

Good food. A stop we look forward to when passing through. Try the Vietnamese coffee and take a box home.

Ordered delivery, packaged nicely. Given nice sauces for my spring rolls and dumplings. I got beef pho and my mom got shrimp pho. Everything was amazing. Broth was delicious. We have lived close by for awhile and never eaten here. Will definitely order again soon !!

The Pho was delicious. Ive had most of their menu items. Garlic chicken and the green curry is a good start if you are having trouble ordering. But the owner will steer you right as well.

Pho was full of flavor! Hit the spot. Ordered delivery for safety Covid precautions. Gave 4 stars bc delivery service and/or restaurant forgot my silverware (plus my hoison/sriracha sauce). Grilled pork with vermicelli was a little bit salty according to my son.

October 1st 2020- Their latest health inspection graded them a 65 which is a FAILURE! Multiple violations that could easily cause illness in people eating from this restaurant. Its a matter of public record. I will post a picture from the news report.

One word: FRESH! This place is so amazing. Chattanooga, you better appreciate having such an excellent eatery in your town. We had the Pad Thai and Chefs Beef Pho. Both excellent with full spectrum taste profiles.

Cafe and Toast is simply amazing! It is truly authentic food. The service is phenomenal and all the food is freshly prepared so make sure to get a delicious appetizer while you wait for your food. They have amazing lunch specials too! Ask the owner for recommendations because he is extremely knowledgeable! This is a must eat in Chattanooga!

Food is OK but nothing special. Overpriced a little but service is good and fast. Their tomato juice is a joke for $5.50. Not coming back.

I ate at three restaurants in this same shopping center, and this restaurant, although not great, won the award for best. The pho just passed, but the expensive carrot juice drink was 90 percent sugar and ice. I am pretty picky when it comes to đồ ăn Việt Năm, since I’ve eaten homemade pho dozens of times. This is just okay.

Food is good. Kids enjoyed it - however for some one who is used to Indian food - taste is not that strong. He told he could have made it a little strong - but by then the food is way gone!Had the best lime soda here - salt and sweet. Would recommend if in the area - but indicate while ordering if you’re looking for a specific taste.

Oily spaghetti noodles for lunch special. No flavor and poor quality. I expected better. I would have waited any amount of time. I wouldve bought the more expensive item if I was aware that was needed. I just wanted some nice food on my time out with my spouse. This was so sub par. I will never go back.

Best meal I’ve had in a while! I ordered the sweet, spicy pho with shrimp and will definitely be back for it again. Can’t wait to try other items on their menu as well. Great food!

Our family stopped by for a late lunch here on our way to Gatlinburg from Alabama. Food was delicious. I had a bowl of Pho. The kids and hubby ordered garlic chicken, chicken curry, and pork chop rice plate. I sampled their meals so I would have to agree that theirs tasted good too. My sons and hubby told me I picked a really good place for them. They even told me they want to dine here on our way back from our family vacation. Unfortunately they close on Sunday. I gave this place a 4 cuz they did not have variety of pho choices and veggies and the noodles were too soggy and soft when they served it to me.

Server never filled up our tea, I had to get up and take cup to him. I asked for extra bowls to share pho and all 3 were dirty. All the plates had chips in them. Asked for some white rice and he said they were out but all the food that came by after that had rice on them. Food was just OK. Pretty sure I was overcharged, I never saw check. He keeps it at register and rings up when you leave. Will never go back.

Their dumpling noodle soup is really wonderful. A must try dish. My 5 year old and I loved this dish. And he kept saying it’s out of the world 😀

Not your run-of-the-mill Asian food restaurant... the Singapore influence/fusion seems to provide an extra special something to the food and recipes. More ingredients, different spices and slightly different ways of preparing the food seems to make it very fresh, light and savory yet wholesome and substantive. Like the Singapore spicy chicken fried rice and Shrimp, chicken & vegetable spring rolls. Makes the menu quite different and much more interesting and definitely delicious! 😁😛

I love this place! We tried it for the first time yesterday, and were blown away! Food is extremely delicious, and fresh. Also, the best iced coffee I’ve ever had, in my life, from anywhere!! Service is fantastic. Will definitely be back, as often as possible!!

My new favorite plaxe to eat, the rice is the best i have had, better than the Rain Tai Bistro, small and hidden . I havent eaten many things off memu because the one thing i did was great so i keep eating that!
