This place was amazing! They have a pretty large selection of Italian staples and treats in the market side, but the kitchen side was so good. Their food was reasonably priced and was so flavorful. The meatballs were delicious. We also had the truffle garlic bread, butcher sandwich, and Emilia salad. The dessert case was great too. Top for real Italian anything in Charlotte so far.

Hold my beer and watch this is what this felt like. My wife wanted pasta and we were torn between Zia Pia and some other local restaurants. We waited forever for anyone to even acknowledge us then it was a be right with you with zero intention of such. After we ordered we went next door for a glass of wine to pair with our Zia Pia. we were pretty much done with ordering our wine, found seats, and drank about 3/4s of our wine before our food was ready. When we received our food it was mediocre at best. We were really disappointed as nothing seemed fresh or presented like anyone really cared; just thrown on a plate. Every touch point seemed to be flawed, tremendously.Id try it again but Im not rushing back...

I wish I had given zero stars to this place. I happen to order this Contadino Sandwich which was served with side salad. First of all the sandwich was cold not even Luke warm. Secondly the side salad that came with this dish was a joke it was a pasta in a small cup like a dipping sauce cup. When I asked the lady cashier about this she didnt give a proper reply which I felt a bit awkward. If your charging $ 10 for a sandwich it should be of a very top quality it looked completely bland to me flavorless. To to the owner/operator with regards to your response I dont want to reconsider it. I would have reconsidered it if I would have received a convincing reply where you have replied to other peoples review in an apologetic manner but coming to me you were a bit partial which is clearly evident. First of all I was never late I have arrived at the same time when I got the notification when it said the food was ready for pick up. Secondly I was referring to the portion size of the pasta side i.e. I am basically comparing the size with a small cup. I never mentioned that I havent received any Olive oil or some sort of that. Lastly I have even mentioned that the sandwich that had the pesto sauce was a bit bland flavourless to which you never had an answer Thank you so much.

Authentic Italian. I cannot wait to go back and try other dishes. I had a delicious meatball grinder and the bread was perfect, crispy on the outside, soft and delicious on the inside. They have imported olives that are meaty and taste like Italy. You should go. Today. Don’t wait.

Best Italian Food in Charlotte, hands down! Whether you are looking to stop in and enjoy a nice, authentic meal or if you’d rather purchase some fresh, imported ingredients to take home, this place has it all!! Watching everyone work in the open kitchen makes you feel as though you are sitting in a bistro in Italy! I will definitely be back!

This is our first time here and we had the best experience . I am picky about my Italian food. And as a small and unpretentious place it makes you feel like you are in Italy eating at a Trattoria when it comes to the flavors. The marinara sauce is one of the best I have had. The Emilia salad was perfectly dressed. And the Italian ricotta cheesecake pie was so well balanced in terms of richness and sweetness. Definitely we will be back and we recommend it!

It was so good yesterday I went back again today. I had the pumpkin ginger soup and a harvest salad today, yesterday it was the soup and 1/2 a sandwich. The soup was hot and very tasty. The bread on the sandwich was crusty, just like in Italy, with great tasting cheese and sliced pork, the salad was a combination of Fargo, chick pea, beets and butternut squash on field greens with a delicious olive oil dressing. All, super delicious. If I lived in town Id go more often. Sadly I leave tomorrow.

For us when we walk into 7th St Public Market we don’t have to speak a word. Why? Because time and time again we have eaten at Zia Pia’s and loved the food and service. Our last visit we sat at their counter and had the opportunity to visit with Victoria, owner. Her heart and soul is invested in this gem of a restaurant. We also love the market. If you are going to indulge in carbs may I suggest buying some of their pasta, bring it home and create your go to sauce, simply the best.I would be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to Josh and Celine over at Assorted Wine Table. They will be happy to recommend a glass or bottle of wine that pairs perfectly with your food.

Food is good, but you have to be there at least 1 hour before it closes if you want to have a dish prepared. If it is 40 min before it closes, they will turn you down

Order 4 meals to be delivered by Grub Hub, 2 kids meals, 2 adult pasta meals. The pasta marinara was smaller than the kids meal, almost no sauce, very dry and tasteless. The pasta of the day was also very small portion, I would rate it average. All was very disappointing.

The lady who took our order went back into kitchen and was licking some kind of sauce off all her fingers. After seeing this happening not just once but twice we decided to alert the management. No one seemed alarmed. The owner/management even came over and said she wanted to clarify that the lady wasnt preparing our meal, but the gentleman was. I said ok, but she is still handling food that is going to be consumed by guests. I was floored! They literally didnt think it was a big deal At all.

There is a sign that says brunch is from 10AM - 2PM, the guy behind the counter said the food wasn’t ready for 15 more minutes. It was 10:30. Lame!!

Very small and overpriced portions served in paper plates. Trying to cut down on the cost of cups so you have to buy them for $1.50. If you want to feel bad about the food you buy, give your money to them and see how its done.

The white lady at the cash register at Zia Pia was extremely nasty towards me and she only cared about the money. Food was over priced as well. The pasta was undercooked but the meatballs tasted great. I wouldn’t go back because of that ladies attitude.
