I had outsized mementos from my father’s passing to ship overseas via the USPS, one which met postal service requirements, and one that didn’t.I thought the incorrect parcel needed a custom fit box, but once the staff and I reassessed the contents, we realized the company already had a box into which everything would fit and meet USPS mailing requirements.I did not stay to see the repacking to the finish, but once I received the items at my location overseas, I was very pleased to see all the items were carefully wrapped for shipping, and arrived in perfect condition! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I had never been here before, so I was glad to find an all-inclusive shipping center, but the rude service needs to be highlighted to support comments that have already been made on this platform.When I walked up to the counter, the lady behind the counter had a phone to her ear while she was dialing. Maam, how can I help you? I thought she was talking to the phone, so I remained silent. Then she curtly and loudly repeated herself. After answering her question, I helped myself to the hand sanitizer at the front desk, and she let out an audible sigh of frustration and shook her head disapprovingly, you cant use that. you need to wipe it off. With no explanation, she handed me a tissue to clean my hands. I later realized that it was because she was about to have me use the touch screen, so she was concerned that the sanitizer wouldnt dry in time to allow my finger to be detected.The job was done, but the professionalism is disappointing. Will not be returning unless I must.
I left a package that I thought was pre paid. Debbie called me to let me know so I could come pay and get it shipped quickly. She is always so knowledgeable and willing to help me with all of my mailing needs.
THE WORST! I have been here (reluctantly) a hand full of times now and the manager is incredibly rude and unaccommodating. Always feel like my business is an inconvenience to them which is a very strange thing. Also during Covid I witnessed the employee scolding several people who didnt properly read her illegible door sign about customer count and masks.....done. Also they charge crazy rates
I went in and asked for a simple favor – to have a box weighed …I was immediately and sharply just told a firm “no!” Not a “Can you wait just one minute sir,”, “sure just put it on the scale”, or “yes, I’ll be happy to,” no…what I got was a NO. So my wife who has an office across the street and uses this place a fair amount will longer be going there and instead of walking over with her business she’ll just drive down to the FedEx on East Boulevard where they’re always, always nice
Dilworth Packing is a one-stop shop for all your shipping and receiving needs. My experience with them has always been a good one. The offer a nice variety of services and should the need arise for you to use any of those services- you would be well served by going to DPC.
Unfortunately, like many of the other reviews, I was not helped at all by the woman working at Dilworth Packing Co. I came in with a DHL package with what I thought was all the necessary paperwork and shipping labels to send internationally. This was my first time shipping internationally and had some questions to ensure I was processing this correctly. The woman had absolutely zero patience and offered zero assistance in helping me ship this package. I was missing the commercial invoice which I stated was in my package and I would be happy to retrieve. She kept telling me that no, I did not have the appropriate documents to send. When I asked for assistance in getting all the appropriate documents, she kept telling me no sorry you dont have the right documents. Maybe Im wrong but I assumed a packing store would have the ability (and patience) to assist an inexperienced customer but thats not the case here. Will never be going back.
DHL told me that this place was a drop off facility, their website and window literally state that they are a shipping outlet for DHL but you cannot drop off a package here. I was told if I was a DHL shipping customer then I could ship a package through them. Very irritating as I drove out of my way to go and very misleading information.
Dilworth Packing Company has been hosting our mailbox for about 2 years now....we do a lot of international shipping and they have always been very helpful straightening out the addresses that arent always presented to us very clearly. Very responsive and accommodating to our requests - especially at the beginning of the pandemic...they allowed us to email the details for an international envelope to be prepared for us so all we had to do was quickly come in and drop the letter off so we didnt have to spend any time inside or waiting. Highly recommend!

I Had to get my finger prints done here for my new job. The lady working the front was unprofessional and rude. My appt was 11:50 I got there 11:40 she made me wait till my appt to do my finger prints! Wasting my time and even hers lol!

Much like other reviews on this chain, the owner, Deborah Starns, lacks the professionalism to interact with customers effectively. I simply asked about shipping information and instead of lending a helping hand, she asked if I could step to the side so that she could help the person behind me. Deborah was rude and extremely matter of fact, and in a time where customer service should be at an all-time high she completely dropped the ball. This was my first and will be my last interaction with Dilworth Packing Co.

I visited for the first time to ship gifts to family members. I want to say first of all this is not a complaint. Your employee was kind and courteous but I do think I was a little misguided on the rates she quoted. I asked for the cheapest rate, including USPS, was in no hurry, and was surprised that cheapest would have been FedEx. She quoted rates for UPS and USPS and I took her word but stunned at the rates. I dont believe she actually quoted USPS ground regular delivery rates but rather Priority Mail rates.Even with a surcharge they couldnt have been that high. Maybe USPS ground is not a service you offer or maybe I didnt ask the right questions (I sure tried). I should have researched on my own so I blame myself to a certain extent for overpaying. I was in a hurry and had to get to work- just dont want this to happen to someone else.
Ive been coming to this place for years, to send packages to distant family - so helpful and convenient! So much easier than going to the Post Office, and friendlier folks! Id recommending these guys to anyone!

Everything was done like clockwork. They arrived on the date and time agreed. They did a wonderful job packing. Everything (furniture, carved animal, bronze sculpture, etc.) arrived on the day agreed in great shape with no damage.

I went into this store today to send a letter, I parked in the space in front of the store For Dilworth Customers only MIND you I went into the store and used their services...then went next door. The lady must have immediately called security because he comes into the threading place not 5 minutes later telling me I have to move my car. Im mid pluck in the chair and I stated that I bought something at the packing store. He said I must move my vehicle now (mid procedure) or be towed. This is absurd! Firstly, the sign says nothing about towing; secondly, I was a patron of that store! I kindly told him to call the tow service. Of course I was able to get outta there before any tow trucks arrived (not that I think any were actually on the way).I read up on the city ordinance and it seems they cant actually enforce towing for a number of reasons, and I would be able to release my vehicle anyways if the tow driver came. Care to challenge Dilworth Packing Co?Id refer you to city ordinance 4608.Never mind though, Ill never use your service again. The previous posts are spot on; the lady behind the counter seriously lacks any customer service skills.

The owner/manager is one of the rudest women I have ever encountered working a customer service based job. I am writing this review after at least 6 visits to this business. After so many visits and her terrible attitude, I had to write a review. When you go in you are not greeted with a smile or a warm hello. Instead, the woman behind the counter looks at you like why are you here? My most recent experience was I went in to drop off UPS packages that were return items with labels already attached, she literally stood there, looked at each one and threw them across the room to the outgoing pile. And I dont mean a gentle toss, it was a blatant throw. A couple of my items were breakable but she could have cared less. I suppose if I were paying her directly she would be less of witch. Another experience was I went into Dilworth Packing, dropped of my package, then proceeded to walk a few doors down to grab a coffee to-go and she comes running out of the store, yelling at me to move my car from her space. I cant believe I can spend money in her business but then cant leave my car parked for 5 more minutes to walk 2 doors down and grab a coffee. I am a customer service provider myself and it truly baffles me that someone with ZERO personal skills would own or manage a public business. If you are that miserable and hate the public then find a different career!!!
Every time I go to this location I have the worst experience. However their location in south end is absolutely amazing and has the best customer service. I would not recommend the dilworth location. Extremely rude and the worst customer service ever!!!

Horrible service, wouldnt accept DHL packages because they didnt have paperwork how can you run a shipping company and not be aware of the different types of postage. Easy Post compacts the paperwork to be efficient so that it saves time and eliminates ink. Do better... Youre supposed to be professionals.
The owner is one of the rudest individuals Ive come across in a long time. Seriously I have spent more money at this location than I can count. This has been out of my last two visits the worst. A few weeks ago I assumed it her behavior was from someones order she was working on that made her upset prior to me. She snapped at me, but I went on. Today... There was no one was in front of me and I expressed I needed assistance with an order. I gave her all of the information she had asked for and when I told her what the major piece that she missed, she snapped back. Let it be known she had assistance today and took a phone call during our discussion. Why couldnt he have taken the call?You are running a place of business that customer service should be your priority. Debbie your customer service and attitude have changed. I hope things get better, but Ill wait in long lines at the post office or visit other businesses that offer the same service with quality and professional attitude before visiting your business again.

I called the store to inform them that my glasses were being shipped there before an international trip and I really needed to receive them. The lady said they closed at 5:45, I told her I would be there around 5:40 because of traffic but that I really needed them (glasses)and I rushed down to the store.... when I arrived at 5:44, she was already out of the door and getting into her car. It was almost like she didn’t want to help at all. She was rude and you guys will definitely not be getting any business of mine or my friends or family any more...Rude service and not helpful.
Seriously, Im not really sure what the hell peoples problem is with this place but I havent had an unpleasant experience here at all and Ive been multiple times. I think its a great local business and I think that the customer service is fine. I think they are much more friendly than going to a UPS or a FedEx. Give this local business a chance.
Just tried to go to the store. Door says theyre open until 5:45. Door was locked at 5:00pm. Guess I wont even get the chance to experience the rude staff everyone else seems to mention in their reviews. (There was no sign despite the response below)
I went to Dilworth Packing to utilize their Fieldprint services required for employment verification for a new job. Debbie was very patient, helpful, and funny throughout the process and utilizing the finicky machine. She even asked me about what my new job will be and wished me luck. I found her very nice and incredibly funny, I liked her a lot. I was very surprised reading so many reviews calling her rude. I am going back to her to help get my passport photos taken in the near future. I wanted to share my experience as it was vastly different than many of the negative reviews here.
Incredibly rude, particularly the woman manager. Helping a customer is truly a burden here. Go to the UPS store on West Blvd. The family who runs it gives much better service.
Dilworth Packing Co is the best mail service I have ever had. I have several mail boxes there and the Dilworth Packing Co team always calls me when I receive a fax or package. They are also very helpful when I call, being sure they answer all of my questions. I highly recommend Dilworth Packaing Company to everyone.

I had a DHL package shipped to this store before the holidays. When I called to verify if it was there a female employee was very flustered and all but yelled at me over the phone that she was too busy to check on it. I assumed it was stolen because I didn’t want to call back and check again given this woman’s attitude, and am honestly scared to pick it up now due to my anxiety. Please take a customer service class or two.

I cant speak to all employees here, but In my experience, Debbie is rude and very unhelpful. Not everyone knows how to ship internationally. Debbies customer service, patience, ability to explain and assist are all terrible. I will not be using Dilworth Packing Co. in the future based on my interactions with her in person and over the phone (since my drop off the package has gone missing either by Dilworth or DHL - still working with DHL to find out what happened; I tried calling Debbie at Dilworth to see if she had information and she was condescending and rude, like she was in person). Also, I too arrived at the store at 2:30pm on a day they are supposed to close at 3pm and the doors were locked and the store was shut down without a note as to why. Very inconsiderate to customers to consistently close early when people travel to store for service and make plans based on online hours.
They aren’t friendly and charge to tape the box that is ready with label already. My interaction was with a woman and she was not customer service oriented or pleasant.

I have come here on a rare occasion when I didn’t have time to get to an actual UPS or FedEx location. Today was the last time! I walked in with a box that needed to have the shipping label taped to the box and possibly one piece of tape placed on the box to seal it better. As I walked in the rude woman kept using a loud tool to perform some task. When she finally stopped she came to the counter and told me she would charge me 50 cents to do so. I told her I’d go elsewhere where I wouldn’t be charged. I think she was relieved.I’ve never had a good feeling about this location and I can see from all the negative reviews that this is how they do business. Anyone who doesn’t understand the effect of all the negative reviews should wake up to the new reality

This will be my last visit to Dilworth Packing. The encounters Ive had have been uncomfortable and made me feel I was inconveniencing the owner because I was simply dropping off for UPS, despite the large sign on the door marketing as a drop off location. Today I waited in line for five minutes to be told no drop offs were being accepted this week, if youre stopping a service at least post a sign on the door. I would rather wait in line at the post office or UPS, much better customer service.
I received exemplary service out of Dilworth Packing. They were able to respond within an extremely tight deadline to get my art packaged properly and shipped without damage or delay to Cincinnati.
Dilworths packed and shipped fragile packages for me to California, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida and Kentucky. It was important to me and my family to receive the packages quickly, safely and unbroken.Dilworth packing did a fantastic job in a timely manner and the staff was fantastic to deal with. When a question arose about one of my requests, I received a personal call from owner Debbie Starns who made sure my needs were being met as well as to notify me when the packages were shipped. I Really appreciated the excellent service and personal attention received. Kudos to Dilwards in Charlotte! I would recommend their services to anyone needing to ship valuables as well as anyone who prefers mexcelkent customer service.

Awful..I would only refer my worst enemy to this place.I recently paid too much to have a birthday present to a family member.They accepted payment to send a package to a po box. They sent it via Fedex, btw that does not deliver to po boxes.!! The birthday in question was Feb.24. To this day no one knows where my package is and the best that the manager offered was to file a claim with Fedex. Taking NO responsibility. When i asked about the money that I paid her in good faith, her reply was FedEx might pay it.🙈🙉🙊. What the Hell.!!!!
Ive called 3-4 times requesting a quote with no calls back. I left multiple messages and even spoke with two employees. One of the employees was very pleasant, the other was very rude. We ended up taking our business to another local shipping company.

Awful customer service. Surely they realize that there are OTHER UPS shipping stores around. This is my second time here. Shame on me. First time, meh, she didn’t seem friendly and was very hurried, even though I was the only customer present. I asked for a receipt, she said “we’re unable to print receipts” But, I wanted to give Dilworth packing another chance since it’s local and I work close by. Today, same scenario. Hurried, unfriendly, throwing the packages in the bins. No respect for its contents. This time, I asked for a plastic sleeve to place my label. She said she has to charge me for it. Ok. So I asked if I could just use her packing tape. She also said that she would have to charge me for it. NOW, I realize, she’s just giving me a hard time. Out of principle, I did not leave the one package that needed the label, but sent the rest with Dilworth Packing Co. let’s just hope they get to their proper destinations. Ugh. This is the LAST TIME. I WOULD RATHER DRIVE TO THE SELWYN LOCATION. They said Good morning, I dropped my package off, they placed my label in the plastic sleeve, placed it on the package and gave me a receipt. And bid me a good day. In that order.

Horrible service. Lady behind counter was insanely rude to me .I have worked in customer service most of my adult life and I dont know how this place stays in business. Never going back.In response to your reply where you make this seem like its my fault.I am not speaking about the phone call, Im speaking about when I physically entered the store and the woman behind the counter did not greet me. I stood for a few moments while the lady continued to tape a large box. She finally, after a large sigh, put the tape down and turned around and asked what I needed. I pulled out my phone to pull up the confirmation that had been emailed to me saying that my package was waiting for me at your location. I gave my name and was immediately told my package was not there. I was told this without the woman even looking for my package. Also, the woman took one look at me and my tattoos and made some sort of assumption that I didnt deserve to be treated with any respect. I then tried to show my email confirmation to the woman because I was confused as to where my package was and she couldnt have been less interested in that. She then stated again that my package wasnt there and that I needed to call DHL and upon that she turned around and continued taping the box.I then called DHL and there in fact was a mix up and it had been sent to the wrong location. DHL told me by the next day my package would be at the location I requested. I called the next day and the same woman answered the phone and told me my package was not there and again I was confused. DHL attempted to deliver my package 2 days in row, one at 5:46pm and again at 5:47 pm. Based on what your store hours say you close at 5:45. The delivery man said both times people were there but wouldnt accept the package because you were closed. Because of this, the clothes that I had ordered specifically for a special event didnt actually get into my possession until 5 days after it originally arrived in Charlotte. I did not get to wear them for the event that I ordered them for.DHL apologized and were very curtious and respectful towards me but the experience I had at your store and over multiple phone calls was extremely unpleasant. Instead of you apologizing for this you have placed the blame on me and I think this is very poor business management. I hope that people read this and continue to give bad reviews when they are treated the way I was.

First visit here. Woman grabbed my drop off box. Told me they wouldnt be taking drop offs anymore. Scanned it. Then threw it on the floor in front of me. Fedex is half a block down East blvd- Go There.
I only go here when I am in a rush, because there is never a line. Why no lines? Because the owner is the least friendly, least helpful person with terrible customer service. She always acts annoyed when you have a pre-paid drop off, super passive aggressive. However, this last experience takes the cake: I walked in today with 3 holidays packages, 2 were pre-paid and one I needed to pay for. Debbie told me (and several other customers) that she is NOT accepting ANY drop-offs during the holidays. I explained that I shipped there often and I had to pay for one and she said That is fine but I cant accept the other two. If you decide to open a shipping store you are going to get pre-paid drop offs, its a fact of life and if you dont like it then change your line of business...its part of the deal. So I drove across town to drop off my other packages and then called UPS and Fedex to let them know one of their contracted vendors was ruining their reputation and likely violating the terms of her agreement by refusing to take packages. Its the HOLIDAYS and youre acting like Scrooge McDuck! Good customer service keeps clients coming back, especially to local businesses despite the insanely high prices. After this experience Debbie can kiss my business goodbye. Hopefully UPS and Fedex give her a hard time for acting like a jerk.There were at least 6 people turned away while I was there, and I bet all 6 never come back. I like to support local businesses but not rude people like Debbie. Use the UPS store on East Blvd, near the light rail. They are super nice. Also the Fedex store is an option even though their staff arent very smart. Above all, avoid Dilworth Packing Company.
