After a morning hike i decided to have local coffee and I searched for it and came through Queen City Grounds. It was a nice small coffee shop with different people buying coffee on Sunday morning. The parking can be an issue as it has a road parking and sometimes you may not get the place. The ambience of the cafe was amazing and i loved the vibes. The menu is amazing and has different coffee options. I ordered Cappuccino hot coffee. I got the order quickly and it was amazing. I loved the coffee. Do try this as it is an amazing place.
If youre looking for a place that serves fantastic coffee made with love, care, and passion, look no further. Queen City Grounds definitely has the coffee game on lock in Charlotte. The Flat White I had was simply the best cup of coffee Ive had outside of my own home. It also helps that they roast their coffee beans in-house to meticulous quality. The staff is super friendly, the coffee shop is always super clean, they also have some pretty tasty sandwiches, and the upstairs loft has some of the best views of Fourth Ward.Come on in. Get a cup. Do some of that work youve been wanting to get done or just chill out for a while. On your way out, buy a bag of their beans to take home. And yes, they will happily grind it up for you.
Stopped in for some coffee to go, and was quite amazed at what a cool spot this is. The coffee is fine, if a bit expensive, but the location as a spot to relax, study, read or get some work done is quite exemplary. Its well appointed, with lots of comfy places to sit, and various excellent views. Next time Im in the area and need a place to hang out for a bit, Id definitely return!
Im so happy I found this place! In order to be more eco-friendly and reduce waste Ive been getting coffee beans from a grocery store using my own clean bag. In an effort to be more supportive of local business I reached out through fb to see if Id be able to do the same at their shop. I received a quick and helpful response and ended up stopping by that same day. I was able to purchase fresh roasted coffee beans and enjoyed a slice of delicious vegan coffee cake.... in my own container! They have lots of vegan options and everyone was super friendly. Ill definitely be returning. Please check them out!
Honestly, after one trip, this might just be my favorite spot for a quiet and relaxing breakfast to ease into the morning. Dining as a pair, and getting two wraps, two drinks, and a cinnamon bun... everything totaled about $35. Well-worth the price tag.The highlight was Alexisonfire. Petey the Pistol was also good, but felt like something was missing from it. Hot sauce fixes just about all problems, so it just got better once it was applied. Queen City Grounds will be a recurring pitstop in the AM, and I recently learned that there are multiple locations.Dont shy away from Queen City Grounds if you know whats good for you.
Stopped by for a quick bite to eat while passing through Charolette - a good vegan breakfast sandwich is hard to find but we found 2 at Queen City Grounds!I ordered the Legend of Zelda (because how can I not?) and my wife ordered the Fast Times at Vegan High and both were LEGIT.On top of that the staff were super friendly and laid back. The whole vibe was really great. Im making a point to stop back the next time Im in town.
New to the Charlotte and received a welcome packet with coupons from various restaurants and such in the area. Queen City Grounds had a gift certificate for $10 in the packet, so we stopped by and ordered the Chai drink. It was fabulous and went back again this week. You’ve gained a new customer with your marketing coupon. Thank you!
Love the ambiance and coffee. Neighborhood feel
I love QCG! The coffee is delicious- I suggest the cold brew with oat milk! The food is made to order, tasty and they have a lot vegetarian options. Inclusive place and all are welcome. This atmosphere is delightful! They’ve recently added some great new tables outside and we get to comfortably bring our dog along now too!
Really good black coffee, and the food is spectacular. the atmosphere is really cozy as well, and the seating area available is comfortable and relaxing.
Delicious breakfast burrito, probably the best Ive had, great ingredients (eggs, bacon, advocado and more), loved the spicyness. Very good vibe, great place to have breakfast or your coffee in a relaxing atmosphere.
Best coffee in Charlotte! Iced vanilla oat milk latte is one of the best I’ve ever had! And the service is always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!!
Modern place with a nice atmosphere and good drinks. Chai Tea Latte was sweetened just right with a ton of yummy cinnamon goodness on top. They have restrooms downstairs for customers & a nice hang out area upstairs. They also have food; we had the pumpkin cronut and pretzel. Some cool memorabilia (t-shirts etc) with their owl logo on them for sale - great souvenirs!
Great place to get a cup of coffee or a quick bite to eat. Staff is very friendly. My go to coffee shop uptown.
I love the atmosphere of this place! It always takes me a while to order. The staff are always very patient. It is a little pricey but my food always comes out piping hot and the coffee is DELICIOUS! I recommend the Fast Times at Vegan High sandwich. Sooo delish!
We just ordered take out but the atmosphere was amazing, will definitely be coming back to enjoy the place and the food and drinks.
Overpriced for just ok coffee. The food options look good
Our favorite local CLT Coffee shop! Not only do they have an amazing coffee lineup but rotating specialty coffee drinks (plus non coffee drinks too) AND made to order breakfast. My favorite breakfast burritos!
Havent tried the coffee yet because I still havent gotten it after 30 minutes of ordering 2 iced lattes. The guy taking my order today seemed like he didnt want to be there, he was asking people if they wanted cream or sugar and then after someone replied cream please, he told them to go get it themselves at the self serve bar. Whats the point? Customer service alone is a 1 or 2 out of 5. Lets see how the coffee is.Got the coffee. One was 4 shots, iced whole milk. The other 3 shots, iced, oat milk. I asked the dark curly haired barista if the milks were correct in the drinks (dairy intolerance) and she literally said, I forget at this point. Not coming back, maybe find better baristas who care about the craft. I paid around $13 and a $2 tip.
A well run and trendy coffee shop that had excellent Nitro brew on tap. Stop by if you’re in the area for sure!
Awesome matcha latte and my date decided to be adventurous and order the same. He is super picky and he enjoyed it as well! Also got a cool owl sticker at the register!
Best draft cold brew I have ever had
My new go to for meetups! I’ve been here twice and from now on, I’m taking everyone I know. The diverse staff is so kind, helpful and professional. I met Adam (co-owner) on my last visit. I had no idea who he was at the time but he was so awesome that I later asked another employee and she told me. The overall vibe here is just amazing. The caramel latte was the best that I’ve ever had. They have almond milk and oat milk if you prefer milk options that’s aren’t dairy. And the grit bowl!!!! OMG. I got it with tempeh and I can’t wait to go back again. They have food options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores including pastries. They also sell small gifts including jewelry and greeting cards. They validate parking in the parking deck for 90 minutes. There is seating upstairs for overflow. You must go! Thank me later.
Found this spot a few weeks back (was referred by Central Coffee since they didnt yet allow seating). spacious, clean & a friendly staff (special shout out to Kiara), this is one of my favorite coffee joints. I especially appreciate the seating options (tables, counter by the bar, comfy lounge- upstairs). oh yeah, the wifi is aces & they got plenty of outlets for juicing your electronics. gracias guys :)
Been going here for so long. Love that they have so many vegan options!
The coffee is delicious - smooth, and fairly strong. Great space too - sit by the window and look at Church St, one of the most beautiful sections of uptown Charlotte. Avoid the baked goods though - they are not baked in-house and are overwhelmingly sweet with no rea flavour. Would be much better to just get products from Amelies or another excellent nearby bakery if they cant bake their own.
Never fails! Drinks are always creative and delicious, and the food is a star. Does all the little things right, and nail it each time they swing for the fences with a wild special/new item. A personal favorite for sure.
This is an excellent coffee shop on the outskirts of the city. Street parking nearby is rarely an issue, and you can count on great customer service. The last few times I have been here, I have ordered a mocha and a latte. Great taste, although I wish the milk was steamed longer (I like mine hot!) Regardless the food and atmosphere are great!
My go-to coffee shop whenever I am in Charlotte. Love the cappuccino there
Do you want to chat with a friend, people watch, or get some work done? Do you want to sit in an arm chair, on a hightop stool, or on a couch? Coffee or tea? Inside or outside? At QCG, youll find plenty of space and natural light, Nightflyer Roastworks, Fud on the Muv (formerly Fud at Salud), local kombucha and artwork, and Moxie Mercantile goodies. Most of the breakfast and lunch options can be made vegan and there is a rotating bake case with vegan and gf options as well. QCG is active on Instagram so thats a good way to keep up with them.Milk options: whole, almond, and oat.Smoothies, beer, and wine are also available. If you have any questions, the staff will kindly answer!QCG welcomes dogs (outside) and even has puppuccinos for them.Parking options: metered street parking or Skyhouse garage (make sure to get a validation slip from QCG).Enter through doors on N Church (W 10th is an exit only).
So cute and really nice staff!
Super good flavor profiles ! Great place to eat & get work done ! 🔥
Y’all, if you want the best breakfast burritos and the freshest coffee in CLT, this is your spot. The Vegan Alexis on Fire burrito is my go-to fav...and I’m not even vegan! Give this place a visit. You won’t be disappointed.
Ive been wanting to try a kronut for so long now. Id heard really good things about this place so we decided to come here for a Sugarman kronut. It was really crowded when we got there and there were about 10 people in line in front of us.We got a pecan pie kronut and a lemon blueberry donut from Move That Dough. The donut was just ok to me. Im not a big cake donut person, so it was good for a cake donut. The kronut on the other hand was amazing! It was flaky and crispy. So good. The interior is gorgeous. They have a lot of seating too. Theres an upstairs balcony with more seating too.I definitely would come back here. Their breakfast menu looked interesting too.
Anyone that knows me and follows my music knows I drink a lot of coffee and Im also a bit of a snob when it comes to my coffee, well I found a place that meets even my coffee shaming ways; Queen City Grounds! My sister-in-law told me about this place so I had to check it out and boy am I glad I did! Coffee was off the hook and my breakfast was even better! I loved the atmosphere and the barista was great! She took her time and I could tell she wanted me to have the best possible cup of coffee she could make for me. I highly recommend this coffee house!
Order: Cappuccino, Drip Coffee, Grits Bowl, Fall ToastPrice: $19Positives: Seating, espresso, they roast their own coffeeNegatives: No pour overs (WHY DOES THIS CITY HATE POUR OVERS)?tldr: Queen City Grounds has fantastic coffee and one for the best interior spaces I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking coffee in. Dispute their lack of a pour over I’d highly recommend Queen City and an exceptional cafe.Thoughts: So if you read my reviews in order you know that I drove to this coffee shop from another coffee shop. Yes, we have a problem. Queen City Coffee was our second stop that day and a location we had planned to spend some time at working. It was actually very busy when we came in but we still managed to find some seating upstairs, and since I mentioned it, I definitely want to talk about their seating. They don’t have a massive amount of seating, but you could definitely get 30 to 50 people in this place without it feeling overly crowded. I think what really makes it feel less cramped is that the different places to sit are divided up around the shop. They have an upstairs area, a downstairs area, and several out of the way “nooks” around the shop.. It really makes it feel like you’re not in a crown even if there are a lot of people there. This would be a fantastic place to work or read while drinking your coffeeNow that we’ve talked about the space, let’s move onto their coffee. They roast their own beans, which is a huge plus because it lets them control exactly what they want in their coffee. Once again I found myself unable to order a pour over which was even more bizarre at this cafe because they are a full blown coffee shop. It sort of left me wondering if Charlotte just hates pout overs. Anyway we got drip coffee, and one of their seasonal fall lattes. The flavors for both were excellent. The latte was very well crafted, it wasn’t overly sweet and you definitely got that taste of espresso. The drip coffee was good, but it almost left me wanting a pour over because I think that would’ve pulled out the flavor more.Since we knew we would be there for a while we also ordered one of their toasts, and a grit bowl. Both of them were killer! The grit bowl was very warm, hearty, and filling without feeling overly greasy or cheesy. The toast was one of the few toast I’ve ever seen my wife order that I also would have ordered. Most of the time toast is this weird artsy slice of toast and a little bit of something-or-other on top. Most of the time it kind of just annoys me that someone is charging eight dollars for toast and half an avocado. At Queen City Grounds this wasn’t the case. It was a thick, flavorful piece of toast that tasted fantastic, had good body, and tasted homemade. You could really taste what was going on in the bread itself. Then it had this balsamic glaze on top with goat cheese and was really just out of this world. That’s a very rare thing for me to say about toast so great job Queen City!Clearly I haven’t visited even a fraction of the coffee shops that Charlotte has to offer but of the three that I went to I think this is the winner. The seating and space is fantastic, their food is great, and their coffee was really good, reagardles of the fact that for some insane reason they don’t do pour overs. I know that my wife and I would both find ourselves here on multiple occasions to get work done or just hang out drink coffee and read.
This is a nice coffee shop, very clean, very spacious.. parking can be a bear since its paid street spaces but its usually not too full in the late mornings. coffee is smooth and well roasted and staff is great. this is a great addition to Uptown!
Friendly staff, great menu including delicious vegan options.
This place had a nice atmosphere. I ordered the deluxe grilled cheese and it tasted like it was mostly just bread, a little disappointed. It seemed like everything vegan had an up-charge which always sucks. Boyfriend and I thought it was a little too pricey for what you get.
Mango smoothie was delicious. Kind people.
Great coffee and food. caramel latte with extra caramel and oat milk is my go to. breakfast sandwiches are Soo good, I recently tried their crimson raider with firecracker sauce 😋 (sn: its like sriracha spicy not super hot).they get fresh drop offs from local vegan bakery MovingThatDough on Saturday and Sundays like cinnamon rolls, specialty donuts and other goodies.parking can be a little spotty. they validate parking in deck next door, ask when placing order. spots in front meters were closed off so will run risk a ticket parking right in frontwish there was easier, more convenient parking to run in and go. overall awesome local coffee spot with great food choices.
What a blessing ❣to have everything you desire at your fingertips. My go to is the homemade caramel sauce latte and my daughters is the matcha latte. We are thrilled with their vegan menu. Were trying a different item each time and havent been disappointed. I look forward to many future visits. Queen City Grounds has been a blessing to our Fourth Ward neighborhood.
Good dirty chai. Room to sit down. Patient (enough) staff. Decor interesting enough to occupy a lonely traveler. Not a lot of social interaction between strangers. Not packed on a Sunday.Far from my home of south Florida this coffee shop has enough flare to occupy the mind of an urban traveler. Queen City does not mean it focuses on lgbtq++ but it is inclusive of them. There is one leather couch upstairs all the way at the end around the corner. I would have liked them to be a bit snobbier but I’m sure in in the minority there. I would have liked an opportunity to interact with the locals but this was not a talkative environment. Might be the covid. Might just be the atmosphere.
Good coffee, Great food. A vegan paradise.
Love the coffee here!! Would definitely go again if I were passing through!
Lovely atmosphere, everyone seemed very chill and nice. I swung by after my doctors appointment around the corner and was really pleasantly surprised. I got a flat white with soy milk and it was smooth, rich, and velvety. Would highly recommend if youre in the area.
It’s good
Great coffee! Great service an excellent selection of food. If you love coffee dont miss this shop.
Breakfast burrito is a must get. Seasonal drinks are okay. Lunch is great. Lots of vegan gf stuff. Slightly on the pricey side but worth it.
Im a bit of a coffee snop. I was a barista for 10 years and moved to NC about 18 months ago. Hands down the best coffee Ive had since moving here. Plus they have an amazing food menu. I am a vegetarian and they had several options to choose from. They even have local natural soaps, shampoo bags, etc. Eco-friendly, local, veggie options. Plus the place itself is large, industrial modern. A must go too 100/100 for me. Well done!
Great customer service and perfect atmosphere to work or relax. Excellent sandwiches as well. Love a coffee shop where I can also grab a great lunch!
This spot has become my #1 go-to for work. I work remotely and finding an environment that is conducive to my productivity—but that I also feel comfortable enough in to spend my entire day and week in—was difficult when I first moved to Charlotte. But this place hits every mark for me: an open layout with tons of natural light, a lot of variety in seating options, a chill but professional ambiance, GREAT food(seriously try the BLT), and good drink options. Would definitely recommend this as a good place to study, get work done, or have a lunch meeting.
Cool atmosphere and great coffee. I wish they opened earlier that 8 AM so I can get coffee go to the gym and get to work at 830 AM.
Very nice setting for meet and greets, work, or just hanging out. The breakfast burritos are excellent and always well made. I drink drip coffee so I can’t say about the fancy coffee’s. My only complaint or suggestion is to post the store’s hours when a holiday or other event comes up. I have come here a few times to be told they were closing (odd hours). No note on the door to warn you. That’s small. Otherwise this is a really nice place to hang out.
Nice vibe to the place, stayed for a little over an hour to play scrabble and drink coffee
Awesome feel and great menu. Everyone is nice and treats you with respect. Food doesn’t take long and huge hot cold selections. Overall atmosphere and team is great!
Great coffee, loved the layout and the upstairs seating!
This the goat🤩 We ordered latte and cappuccino. Both of 2 drinks tasted so good. Luv it
I’m a former barista and am always looking for the best coffee made in house and the best beans for home brewing. After trying many other roasters local and abroad located in various parts of the US, I always find myself coming back to QCG for the sure shot. Their coffee is reliably consistent for great taste where the notes described are always evident in every cup where I never have once found any bland, unpleasant, or “stale” tastes I find often in other coffees. Whatever you’re doing keep doing it!
Stopped by with our family to pick up some coffee for Thanksgiving weekend. Great feel and environment.
This morning was my first time visiting this hot coffee spot. It had been highly recommended by friends. The coffee was delicious, the shop itself so cute and eclectic! And the staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the visit - the artwork is beautiful! (Also they have a fun nook upstairs with board games and activities.)
Great vegan food. Starbucks-like atmosphere/ vibe.
A little pricey, but the staff is nice and the muffins are tasty.
Love this cozy place, they have food and beer/wine. It can get crowded on weekends but people don’t hang for too long. There’s plenty of places to sit and upstairs has a library as well! The coffee is wonderful and there’s plenty of options if you don’t do dairy! The service was great. The people are so friendly and patient with explaining the menu.
