Cutey pa tootey!!This coffee shop is so convenient for myself since I live within 5 minutes. I like it better than Starbucks because the coffee tastes like coffee and doesn’t have all that artificial nonsense. Just simple, good coffee. Also, they have lots of handmade, local crafts that are sold in the shop. Paintings, stickers, candles and jewelry. This would also be a good location to study, not too noisy since there is only one barista and there are 3 tables with a bar near windows.Downside of one barista, it’s one barista and there might be a line of 2 people in front of you to order.

Cant complain at all with this shop. I worked at a coffee shop back home for almost 2 years, and these folks have a better drink selection than we did. I haven’t had any bad encounters, and the drinks have always been great. My absolute favorite drink is their iced muddy mocha.

Buffalo chicken wings were slightly spicy but slightly sweet and fabulous! They were not crunchy because they are soaked in the sauce.Tortillas had a light fluffy texture and taste. The chicken you can see being grilled. The chicken is perfectly cooked and the skin in crunchy but not hard. The salsa looks like apple sauce but it is a fabulous salsa.

Coffee shop. Local flare. Has prepackaged foodstuff. Average pricing for a coffee house.Coffee - I drink it cold. Never burnt tasting. Consistently the same. Haven’t heard complaints about it hot.Staff - Friendly. Efficient. Probably the quickest average wait time experienced in Charleston by me. Quick to offer recommendations that actually work out.Biggest complaint I have about the place is it can be difficult to enter or leave the parking lot. Right turns in and out are easiest while turning left can be awkward and frustrating.

Muddy Waters Coffee Bar on Maybank Highway in James Island is a great place to stop for quality coffee, drinks, and breakfast. This place is super fast and convienent if you are in a hurry, but also a really good place to sit back and enjoy yourself if you have a little more time to do so. This is also a great place to have a business meeting or get some work done if you need a good spot to do that. The staff here is very friendly and works hard to get you everything that you need. I have been impressed every time I have been in here.

Excellent little coffee shop with friendly service. Comfortable environment and the coffee is very good. Only complaint is that it can take a little while to have your drink order taken/made depending on the time of day. Usually only one person working behind the counter and if there is a line it can take a bit. But if you arent in a hurry a fun and relaxing place to have a cup of coffee.

Its not hard to love Muddy Waters. Were visiting here from NY and wanted a place to chill on our way to James and Johns island and found Muddy Waters. The Americana was dreamy. I grabbed an extra shot (4 total) and enjoyed the bold flavor. My wife had the latte. It was very very good. Mostly though it was the service and ambiance. Lovely people working and relaxing. Great music playing. Not a lot of seating but not overcrowded either.Great find!

Review №42

It was a pretty average experience when I visited here. The location is cute and the service was nice, but the coffee was just sort of.. average. They use Counter Culture, which pretty much has the market on most smaller cafes, so the drinks taste about the same as anywhere else. I personally prefer places that host a local roaster, but that doesnt make this place inherently bad. Go here for a familiar, every day coffee that you know your money wont be wasted on. Find your exciting, adventurous coffee somewhere else.

This coffee shop was just ok. I don’t feel the cashier/barista taking my order was very inviting or helpful. This was my first time in the establishment, and honestly wasn’t a good enough experience to return. I told her I wasn’t sure what I wanted just yet, only that I wanted something hot. Normally, that is a que to make recommendations, but if they don’t ok fine I assume they are just giving me time to look. I asked if their caramel macchiato is like Starbucks or a true macchiato. (A true one is not overly sweet) she said they can make it both ways, so I asked for the traditional. I am not sure if she just didn’t understand my question or just didn’t know herself and was afraid to ask, but when I received my very tiny cup I was confused. It was literally two shots of espresso in a cup. That is not a macchiato. I left a tip and didn’t go back and say anything, but honestly it was just an ok place that didn’t stick out in my mind that would have me return.

At first, my husband liked his Muddy Mocha with almond syrup. He didnt like the fact that it wasnt as hot as he would have liked it to be. He said the milk cooled it down too much. I had a couple of sips of it, and I didnt like it. It tasted like the cardboard cup it was served in. I told my husband and he agreed that he could taste it, also. Not what we wanted for the price. Its a nice atmosphere with friendly people.

1st time here in 3 years, I asked for a small iced coffee with mint syrup and was charged $2.65 for a cup of hot coffee. After I repeated my order, she poured it into a plastic cup with ice and said Oh, now it be $3.67. Perplexed and in a hurry to meet a client I just looked at her, looked at the tip PLATE (not a jar) pocketed my change and sat down at the counter with cold air (its mid-November) blowing down my neck for 20 mins. I guess the cold air is to keep you drinking hot coffee that youre charged for refills.
