I was in the area from out of town, and I was able to stop at Advanced Auto Repair and have this issue diagnosed and, luckily, fixed same day. I was visiting from out of town to look at a car at a dealership in the area and was arranging for a mechanic to inspect it. I called Advanced Auto Repair and was greeted by Hamed. I initially asked him if he would be able to look at the car, and even though they were booked, he said he would be able to work me into his schedule. While I didnt end up getting the car inspected, he provided sound car buying advise to me. Even though I had just met him on the phone, I felt as though he treated me as a friend, and I was very appreciative of his professionalism and care. 5/5.

We broke down driving through from pretty far away and Hamed couldnt order a bolt we needed because the local parts stores were closing or already closed. He went from garage to garage in his strip and found one to get us back on the road. In the end, the breakdown didnt cause as much of delay in our trip as it could have.He could have charged us anything and we would have ended up paying it, but he was very fair with the pricing. Believe the good reviews; this mechanic is a keeper. My experience at this shop was extremely wholesome, the only negative is that he is so far from where I live! I did a pre-purchase inspection and felt that Hamed cared a lot about my satisfaction and the value I was going to get out of my car. He was very thorough and laid out all the facts he new about the car type before proceeding with the inspection - in fact, made it clear that he would not purchase the car and carefully spelled out why it was a bad buy and gave me the time to verify with my local mechanic. I had been using a local mechanic for most of my repairs but Hamed was referred by a family friend.I had recently noticed there was clogging from pollen/debris around my windshield molding and it was starting to separate from the actual windshield. I had received a quote from two other locations and Hamed offered not only the most competitive price but also explained thoroughly what my problem was, how he will fix it, what to do so I can avoid it next time, gave me the turn around time and sent an invoice quickly to approve prior to any services being done.Turns out the gutter from my windshield was clogged and wasn’t draining properly. Had no idea that was even a thing but Hamed showed me in person where it was for future reference.The customer experience he provided is bar none the best I’ve had anywhere I’ve gone. Started coming to this place since I started distrusting my old Dealership. I was pleasantly surprised and happy I did. Advanced Auto Repair diagnosed and fixed a problem (multiple engine codes issues) with my wifes 2005 Honda CRV. It took a little extra time and effort on Hameds part and the end result was a fixed car. Price was reasonable for the amount or time it took to repair (and less than the Dealership would have charged it for). I was happy with all aspects of this visit and the repairs and will continue coming here for service. In addition to this, Hamed diagnosed another knocking problem I told him about with this vehicle. He found the issue and since it was something I could fix (Im fairly handy with easier mechanical repairs) he told me what to do and what parts to get. This solved the knocking problem and saved me a few bucks in the process. I would recommend Advance Auto Repair if you are looking for a good mechanic at reasonable prices!

My wife suffered two flat tires shortly after starting her 90-minute drive home from work one evening and was towed to this shop 15 minutes before it was scheduled to close at 7:00 PM. Hamed, the owner, went above and beyond to remedy her situation (at the expense of his own priceless family time). Not having the proper tires in stock, Hamed called several places (after his shop had closed, bear in mind) until he was able to secure two tires, which a friend of his went to fetch. To keep a long story short, Hamed and his friend finished a rather involved job (removing and replacing tires from rims, rotating, balancing, etc.) fully over an hour-and-a-half past his closing time so that my queen bee could make it home safely that evening. Thank you, Hamed, for your kindness, selflessness, and generosity. You are a Class A person.

Had two wheel bearings replaced (due to a loud scraping sound that thankfully wasnt the transmission). The driver-side wheel was so corroded it took Hamed many additional hours of dedicated work to repair it (something I imagine another shop might advise to just get a new car due to the hassle). The wheels sound brand new now (and at the moment this car is my only carriage.) The transmission fluid got replaced, new mirrors installed and an oil change. Would definitely recommend this shop for a pro experience. Thanks again !

If you are looking to fix your car perfectly without getting ripped off, Advace auto repair is the place to go. I was fortunate going to Advance Auto repair to fix up my car. Hamed is the most honest, knowledgeable, and professional mechanic I have ever met. Before I go to Advance auto repair I took my Lexus to a local mechanic in Manassas but he totally ruined my car. Then I went to Pohanka Lexus in hope to find out the right diagnoses to get it fixed. However, Pohanka lexus Charged me over $160 for diagnoses only, and guess what!! their diagnoses was totally wrong and they quoted me with a massive bill. Moreover, I was looking desperately on google to find the right place. After reading the shop reviews carefully I felt that I should contact Hamed and give it a shot. Long story short, after one week hamed told me that my car is ready to hit the highway. I went to his shop and picked up my car and it drives even better than ever. Thanks Hamed for the excellent job!!!!

I had a issue with my Blue Tec Merecdes that should have been covered under warranty, but my claim was initially denied. Hamed took the time to disassemble the components to prove to the warranty company that issue was indeed a defective part that should be covered. Alright, here is the deal. I like to be straight forward with my reviews and let me tell you that Hamed is a professional!I wanted to install a spoiler for my FRS and I was too close on doing it myself as I had called other locations and it didnt go any lower than $120.I got suggested by a friend of my mothers and I took my car there to have my spoiler installed. He told me everything to know and to be aware of when it came to just drilling a couples holes in the trunk.I only wished I lived closer to Chantilly so I could keep my regular car maintenance with him.Thanks Hamed!

Im coming back here because i want existing and new customers to not experience what i did. No something must have happened to Hemed.. People do change and he has changed for the worse! He has become greedy in a (delusional ways), ruthless, and unprofessional. First of all, be very careful when he asks you to leave your vehicle there. He breaks things intentionally in order to make you come back again, in other words, he misuses the loyalty that is usually built on trust at the expense of your hard earned money. This despicable, unprofessional behavior has even been corroborated by two mechanics who worked there before including his own uncle. I personally am the recent victim. He overcharged a simple and uncomplicated work to compensate for apparent low turnover. For example, he could not explain to me why he charged me $800 for induction service and smoke test where the price is more that 35% of dealership price. His arguments that hes using top of the market spares, is utterly lies/fraudulent. For example, he charged me for a mobile 1 oil filter($20) but he actually placed a Acdelco oil filter which is $3) This is how low Hemed has gotten! A client whom i personally referred to a while ago told me that her dad found questionable breakdowns on some pipes and other items outside the engine immediately after procuring the vehicle from advanced auto which did not correspond to the usual/expected wear and tear.Im super sorry for the people that i have referred to this place because some of them were ripped beyond imagination. i feel bad to have defended him in the past unknowingly.Two weeks ago he pulled out my cooling fan, placed a nail on my rear right tire and messed up my throttle body during the pathetic induction service that was uncalled for yet suggested by himself. I first found this place because my father told me about it and told me that there is great service. I went to the shop to get a total of 3 screws removed from my tire. Hamad, a great mechanic was generous to charge me under what they pay you at a tire shop. 3rd time i went i needed troubleshooting (low price again) Hamad wants his customers to feel welcomed he talks to you like he knows you for years. He is VERY VERY VERY honest. While i went for the 3rd time my steering column was acting wierd, he offered me to go to the dealership to have a special coverage done. He didnt want me to spend 700. Like i said he is humble and an honest mechanic. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND if you are in the DMV.

I called this place blind in June 2013- I got my dream car, an old Audi, and it was used and in bad shape. I told the shop owner and only mechanic Hamed that I wanted to see what I could do. These are expensive cars to fix- just to get it in good working order would cost at least double what the car was worth. Most people would just ditch the car and get something cheaper, but Hamed understood exactly what I meant by dream car. He gave me a quick response- How do you want to do this?Its been almost 2.5 years since then. My car is almost entirely rebuilt from a mechanical standpoint; brakes, drivetrain, engine, transmission, whatever. This shop, and by that I mean really just Hamed by himself, went ridiculously past whatever the industry standard for service means:- Spent a few dozen hours researching the vehicle and its repairs at my request, since its a pretty rare and unique vehicle.- Covered me up front and paid for a tow truck to take the car two states from my residence in Pennsylvania to his shop in Virginia- Discussed with me at length options for replacement parts, stock vs aftermarket, comparing prices, cutting me deals, you name it.- Pulled and rebuilt the entire engine from the bottom up using replacement parts that I specifically asked him to order, and showing me how he was doing it step by step so that I could learn (also at my requests). Were talking upwards of $10,000 in parts and 80+ labor hours.- Blatantly under-charging me for the labor under standard rates rather than the industry standard. For reference, average labor rate for my car in 2013/2014 Northern Virginia is ~$150 to $175 per hour, Hamed charged me a cool $90 per hour instead.- Allowed me to borrow his BMW while he worked on my car when I wasnt at his shop.- Worked all day on his Sundays off, like 8 to 10 hour days, just to make sure each lengthy job could be finished over each weekend I was there.- Allowed me to stay with him at his house when I came down from Pennsylvania to save on hotel costs.- Spent 8 hours going over the car without charging me anything 2 months after it was rebuilt simply to re-check prior work and to look for anything missed or new problems. There werent any.I can keep going on this all day. Obviously this is an exceptional case, but the point stands- if you want the tippy top 1% of good car work from a great guy, this is the shop you should go to. Particularly if your car is German. I tipped this man $600 the day the car was finished because thats all I had left on my person, and because the quality of the work was worth it.Its been a year today, my car is approaching 170,000 miles, and it runs better and smoother as it gets older. So does his BMW that he works on himself. What started as a daunting project ended up being a year and a half of fun, jamming music in the garage, talking about life and politics and religion and philosophy and relationships and sometimes even cars. I cashed out with the car Ive always wanted, and hopefully made a life-long mechanic and friend in the process. I would give more stars if I could. Cheers, Hamed.
