FACTUAL UPDATE WHAT OCCURRED ON NOV3, 2021:COMPANY CANCELED ORDERUpdated review Nov 3, 2021:THIS REVIEW IS FACTUAL AND FIRSTHAND ACCOUNT OF EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE.Once again, this business has deeply disappointed us.With several date changes and deep discussions with customer service and owner - Ryan Jones, owner, promised by the professional customer service guy D**. He told me after speaking with the higher ups, the fireplace wall unit would be delivered/installed on Nov 4 and no later. (I do have the transcript of this voice msg left by D**) They would call on Nov 3 to schedule morning or afternoon install.Today, Nov 3, my husband called and it reschedule one more time!!! Shop hasnt even started building it! WHY?Ryan Jones and I talked calmly to each other over the phone He told me that it was first he heard of the problem. UNTRUE.Reminded him of conversations with customer service. Customer service talked to him and higher ups and at morning meeting. When reminded of the below review and his response. He remembered.Ryan Jones continued to try to assure me that the unit will be built and installed on NOV 12th. He stated his mark on it which gets priority. He would send me emails with updates on unit progress which was fine. I wanted to see pictures of the progress. I, at first, wanted one everyday or every third day. I was no longer able to trust just words. I needed to have a visual for reassurance. He said they couldnt do that and I tried to negotiate with one picture when halfway done. Apparently, this was too much to ask.Ryan Jones abruptly stopped the conversation. He continued stating he couldnt work with unreasonable customers.. To me, it seemed he couldnt work with a client holding him accountable for what was promised or statements said.I was okay with the Nov 12th date if it was truly being installed on that date.Within an hour of conversation, my husband went to the Chandler location to pick up our down-payment refund. There was some issue with refund processing since it was paid for with debit and a FED stimulus debit card. It was taking a while and my husbands voice has attendance to carry across the room when we has speaking to staff. He was asked to leave the store but still didnt have the full refund and waited outside for it. While, waiting outside Ryan Jones did have words with my husband. Since, did not directly hear the conversation I am unable to comment on it.To make clear: this review is not about craftsmanship or how beautiful the unit would be in my home. I have no doubt it wouldnt of been amazing. --AND-- Yes, we did for warn them that reviews would be made and it would be truthful and factual. We did get a full refund of deposit.Im deeply disappointed in this company and how Ryan Jones chooses to run it.It deeply saddens me the sales gal wont receive her commission.++++++++++++++++ first review below +++++++++++++++I dont understand why when we called at the beginning of the week you had no idea that the fireplace/cabinet piece would not be completed in time for delivery/installation on Fri, Oct 22. You wait until the day before to reschedule it for 2 more weeks. My husband and I rearrange schedules to accommodate your delivery date. Not only once but several times. We also have to call contractors constantly to change dates for other projects that depend on the installation of the fireplace. You have not only inconvenienced us but other business as well. I think it is very inconsiderate on your part.I have no worries of the quality of the product and am sure it will look beautiful. Its about the communication and false promise. It is sad to see a company that was considered to be a superior business fall so fast. This review is in response to pure frustration.RESPONSE TO COMPANY REPLY : I am sorry if you feel we are defaming the company. What I stated is factual and I did not falsify what has occurred. Please contact us by email to discuss further.
Id go into a saga in detail but it seems the same as all the other negative reviews on this site. After spending close to $10K with Stone Creek back in 2017, we called upon them this year to help disassemble and move a Murphy bed. They cancelled in July, cancelled in September, raised the price and then, after I reached out the CEO and got one of the rudest emails ever (Why would I want to help you? he stated) he cancelled again. We are now on our own to move the bed -- after a four month wait. They give excuses about COVID and not being able to find employees but they continue to take on new clients while they cant support the ones they already have. Spend your money elsewhere.
Part 1: This is the absolute worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Frankly, I’m shocked they are still in business. We went to the Chandler store at the end of February 2021. We were told the project (a triple barn door pantry, a small bench and a file cabinet) would take 8-10 weeks to complete. We put in the order mid March and, paid half down and were told to pay the other half upon completion. It was supposed to be completed and installed by May 21. Lorrie (the sales rep) was contacted by us in early May to confirm it would be done on time. She confirmed that - Yes, everything was running on time. Well, May 21 came and went and, they haven’t even started our projects yet. We called her and were informed that it hasn’t even gone to engineering yet let alone the floor to be cut. All we heard were excuses after excuses about how it’s COVID’S fault, they can’t get workers to come into work, people are walking out, workers are sick, etc. You name an excuse, and we’ve heard it.At 12 weeks, I asked her if someone walked in the door today and wanted to start a project, what time frame are they giving them. She advised me 12 weeks. Well, I asked how can they give that time frame as it’s unrealistic because, it’s been over 12 weeks for us and, they haven’t even started our projects yet. She said, it’s what she has been told. They just lie & lie & lie to get your money. Had they just been honest in the first place with the time frame to get things completed, we would have at least had the option to go elsewhere if it were too long for us.Because of their lies and deception, we had other home projects on hold as we needed these items to be completed first. We really needed the Triple Barn Door pantry so, I asked them to please just get that done and, we can wait on the other two projects. So, I was assured they would start the pantry the following week. Of course, that didn’t happen. More excuses about why they couldn’t get it done.Well, 18 weeks after we first initiated the project, they called and wanted to set up an appointment for install & said all 3 pieces were complete. So, on July 20 the owner’s son RYAN and, another install guy came out to install the three pieces. They were both very nice and, apologetic for the amount of time it took to complete our projects. However, the job was still not complete. We owed another $9500 and, Ryan insisted on having us pay in full even though the project was not complete. We paid them $8500 and held back $1000 until it was complete. Our mistake as they got most of the money & were in no hurry to finish up what they needed to.What was incomplete were the Barn doors didn’t have the handles I ordered and paid for and, didn’t have the sliders on the bottom so, they glide. There was also a large gap in-between the middle barn door that needed to be fixed. The file cabinet had 4 drawer faceplates that were not stained fully. When we ordered the bench, we ordered it too long (our fault) and, asked them if the could fix it & let us know how much it would be. Ryan advised that because of all the hassle of waiting so long, he would fix it for no charge and, add a seat cushion. We were fine with that and, were satisfied because, of the wait we have been through with them. They said it would be 3 weeks to complete what needed to be completed. I called a month later as we still haven’t heard from them and, spoke to Ryan and advised him I was going to do a chargeback of the $8500 and, will repay it back with the $1000 owed after they finish the project. He was so angry that he hung up on me. This is the owner’s son. How unprofessional is that? Who hangs up on a customer? Horrible customer service from him. I dealt with Tammy in customer service several times and she was wonderful but, really all she could do was tell me what she was told to say.To be continued:
** edit to review below **While I was extremely disappointed with the delays and lackluster communication noted below. I will say I do LOVE my kitchen and believe they are high quality pieces that were worth the wait. I kept one star because of the delay and response to my disappointment.Rick designed a masterpiece for us that otherwise We wouldn’t have ended up with- and Barbara jumped hoops to keep it on task. Even with minor issues after install the staff was quick to address and come out to make final tweaks to ensure we were completely satisfied. I added pictures to this Google review.I am getting increasingly upset with this company. I certainly hope their cabinets come out 100% perfect which will maybe offset for the extreme upset due to numerous delays we’ve experienced. I ordered 30k worth of cabinets in AUGUST with an install date of 11/9.... we were wowed by their salesman and craftsmanship displayed.... but during the design process my husband had to personally run up there on countless occasions to get answers and expedite/confirm all was on track- God only knows how far behind we’d be had he not. That being said we were initially extremely disappointed of a moved 11/23 install date and had to move all our trades around to accommodate to be told TODAY 11/20 at 230pm they aren’t going to meet their 11/23 date. Mind you we’re living without a livable kitchen since 10/31 & let go of our dream of having a thanksgiving at our house because we were over promised and now still have no delivery. I’ll update this review if/when my cabinets arrive.
I would definitely not recommend buying anything from Stone Creek unless you want continuous customer service failures, wrong deliveries, and never ending frustration in your life. We bought a full kitchen remodel worth of cabinets from them. Production was delayed 2x and Stone Creek only had to time to call us the day before delivery date that they were delayed another 2wks....this was in Oct 2020. Its March 2021 now, and we still are missing toe kicks, side panel for a cabinet, a door for under the sink, trim, and a glass shelf. These missing items are not new orders....these were part of the original order that Stone Creek have failed to deliver time and time again. Between Oct 2020 and March 2021, their delivery trucks have arrived to bring items but theres always something wrong (wrong shade, wrong piece, pieces missing, etc). Customer Service lacks follow through, rarely calls with updates, and is not very helpful. Please learn from our mistake and frustration and do not do business with Stone Creek.Mar 10 update: Matt from Stone Creek corporate called me today and wants me to take down my review. After a heated discussion, he says that Stone Creek legal department will be sending me a letter because I refused to take down my review.
Bad service, HORRID receptionist. After outfitting our entire house with Stone Creek cabinetry, we tried for many months to get someone to give us pricing on additional items, which were measured for twice and never quoted despite our exhaustive efforts., so we gave up. Fast forward a couple years and we had a pipe leak that caused damage to one of the pieces. We tried to go back to Stone Creek and purchase replacement parts and here we are 5-6 weeks after our initial inquiry with no parts. The rude receptionist won’t even convey where we’re at in the process instead she’s insistent on asking (literally every time I call) if “we’ve dropped off the stain color match yet?” to which my reply is always “you guys did the original cabinets, it’s your stain.” When I inquired as to if that was noted in the file (since she continues to ask) she refused to answer and hung up. 4 emails and 4 calls to both our sales person (the sales manager) and the person assigned to do the work) have gone un-responded to, the blame is just shifted to another person at the company and messages left for the general manager remain unreturned. For the money we expected a better level of service. Needless to say, after we complete this fix, we won’t be returning to make further purchases.
Love the product, terrible communication. I have construction and install. Needed to know when it would happen. I called, customer service, never answer the phone, messages left. I call customer service, they were helpful. I got a email from Tammy who coordinates workers. We were told approximately 7 weeks. She said all construction crew would not be available for till 13 weeks out. Scheduled it with her. I emailed her less than 2 weeks before install to make sure the date is on target and no response. I would not recommend them because of this. I have stone creek kitchen cabinets and adding more. They are a beautiful product and hate to give them bad review, but really disappointed on communication.
Dont bother if youre looking for bathroom remodel. They had one Jack and Jill sink display no showers or vanities etc. Also never once ask if I needed any help or questions spent around 15-20 minutes in the showroom. Store says furniture kitchen and bath. The show room has just kitchen displays. They look nice but Id like to see things that Im gonna spend money on not just pictures.
We ordered on Oct 30th a 5 piece bedroom set with delivery yesterday, Jan 13th. It is a beautiful set and wonderfully made. It’s nice to see quality furniture being locally designed and built to your specifications. Make sure you wait for one of their sales to get the best price. The only negative is their delivery date(s) slipped a few weeks with spotty communications.
After shopping around at all of the usual furniture stores, we decided to buy from Stone Creek Furniture, which builds custom furniture in Phoenix and has design showrooms in Chandler, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. We worked with the design team in Chandler and created a beautiful master bedroom set, which included a king-size platform bed and a large chifforobe. Because we bought during a sale, Stone Creek did a matching night stand for free. The alder wood and hand-rubbed stain are beautiful. The process was fun and easier than you might think. Who wouldnt want to design their own furniture from a vast array of options for cabinet and drawer fronts, crown molding, trim, stains, and hardware? The reps use CAD and work according to your specs. Theres a lot of furniture on the showroom floors that helps in the decision-making process when it comes to design and different stains. The delivery and setup also went smoothly. I most definitely would use Stone Creek again for other projects when we redo our kitchen and design a media wall in our great room in the future. I love their work! If you decide to buy from Stone Creek, first camp out on their website for a while and be sure to watch for their periodic sales, which could save you 20%-25%.
This was one of the best companies I have ever worked with. They completed a kitchen remodel in two weeks, built in a bar and pantry and built custom bookcases and an entertainment center. All of the employees I worked with were very professional and we constantly get compliments on their work. I would say the craftsmanship is very good, not excellent, but for the price, its a great value.
Love the fact they build custom furniture so you can get designed and built the way you want. Nice showroom and easy to work with until something goes wrong. We had a custom built cabinet designed around an electric fireplace we had delivered to Stonecreek to insure proper fit. Well they messed up and made it a little to wide so there were small gaps on the sides of the fireplace. I emailed our sales rep pictures to review and she passed them along to someone else. Takes about a week of emailing back and forth finally getting them to acknowledge they messed up. Took another week for them to pick up for repair work. There were also a lot of nail holes that werent filled so I put blue tape on areas that needed touching up. So we get the cabinet back a week later stinking like fresh lacquer. We had to move it to laundry room the smell was so bad. They still didnt fix the nail holes. One more trip back for repair of nail holes. We finally got it back and it looks great now. It looks like it should have the first time it was delivered. They need to inspect things more closely before they leave the shop then they would be 5 stars for sure. We have other furniture we want for our home but unfortunately after this experience we will probably look elsewhere.
I had a very difficult time with this company. Buyer beware and if you feel something isnt right, back out of the deal. The quality of craftsmanship is not what I was expecting. It seems some people are satisfied but I ignored the warning signals all along so I blame myself mostly for the issues.
Josh, sales rep was knowledgeable and super helpful. Great pricing!
The 34 year-old kitchen, that had survived raising our children, was in dire need of renewal. Empty nesters at last, we pondered what to do next. Should we paint, replace or reface the existing cabinets? What about the old kitchen configuration was lacking? What would be the budget? Where to begin? So we compiled a dream list of features and benefits, and rough sketched a design. After checking out Home Depot and Lowes, and several cabinet wholesale distributors, we had an even better idea of what features were important to us. It was apparent that a complete replacement of the kitchen, including a reconfiguration of appliances would be our preferred solution. But what we encountered at all the businesses were a barrage of “can’t do, not possible, won’t fit, that’s not going to work” answers to our ideas. The quality of materials and workmanship we found were almost always less than we desired. Regarding the cost quotes- they all seemed to be sky-high.Then we met Tamara Kahlan at the Stone Creek facility in Chandler. She has been with Stone Creek for over a decade. We were heartened at how knowledgeable, efficient, and understanding Tamara is. With her experience and guidance, we quickly had the kitchen of our dreams on paper. We never heard “can’t do, not possible, won’t fit, that’s not going to work!”Stone Creek Furniture created every feature we wanted, and they did it in a timely fashion. All the materials and components, from the wood to the drawer slides, hinges, and hardware are top quality. The craftsmanship of the construction, and the stains and finish are all excellent. When we compared what we had found everywhere else, the decision to go with Stone Creek was easy.If you desire, Stone Creek can also supply all the peripheral needs of a full-on remodel, such as framing, drywall, electrician, plumbing, flooring, ventilation, etc. They’ve been in the business for many years, and have an answer to every question. To say we are satisfied is not saying enough. We are overwhelmingly and completely happy. We strongly recommend Stone Creek to everyone who wants custom designed, custom built, and custom installed cabinet excellence, at very competitive pricing, in their homes.Thank you Stone Creek!Jon and Janna Valentine
We love our custom kitchen renovation and expansion into our dining area. We chose Rift Oak, which is cut like a slice of pie out of the log, along with contemporary square edge panels and trim. Oak is the hardest hardwood and is less likely to be damaged with normal use. The growth rings in Rift Oak are visible if you have a stained finish. The black shadow box design on the top of the cabinets and at the ceiling is very attractive. We had our kitchen gutted and pre-work completed while on a European vacation. We returned for three weeks and the installation was completed before we left again for the rest of the Summer. The actual construction after we approved the final docs took about four weeks and the project was delivered on schedule. We closely managed the review dates and other critical timeline items prior to the release for construction to help ensure it came together before we left on vacation.Stone Creeks installation and construction crews and their sub-contractors are both creative and excellent craftspeople. Our new 650 cfm vent fan insert is relatively quiet with the converted 6 to an 8 inch dia. vent pipe.If you want fine custom furniture and cabinetry, with many hidden details like cabinet back inserts and bottom inserts, at a fair price and not big box or discount cabinet store particle board construction, this is the place. Stone Creek is very knowledgable and can do nearly anything you can think of. Recommend reviewing kitchen books for ideas if buying a kitchen.Dont focus on items that can be added later or handled during the contractor visit(s). Final dimensions can be adjusted after the preliminary engineering design is completed. This was the case with our island that replaced a peninsula. We went with more drawers than cabinets and two floor to ceiling pantries have finished interior soft close drawers. All doors, external and internal drawers have the soft close feature. Our new Miele Combination Steam oven was designed into one of the pantry cabinets and our drawer microwave was designed into the new island. We also had a new floor to ceiling hutch made for our server room to match the kitchen. The crinckle glass doors and wine rack are beautiful. The kitchen lazy Susans, spice door/drawer and the sloped spice jar liners in another drawer are very useful.Best of all the furniture is made in Chandler, AZ. behind the showroom. Several years ago we had Stone Creek fabricate and install a built in office and credenza along with a custom entertainment cabinet. This is truly custom all hardwood furniture and cabinetry. Rick, Ron and Barbara have been very patient with our numerous requests and changes. Their 3-D drawing imagery was very helpful (and easy to modify!) in visualizing the design. We originally pursued the project with a kitchen and bath specialty store but became frustrated with the high cost.
Great local owned family business good prices quality work and timely install..
Everyone was so helpful. I really love the furniture
Most beautiful furniture Ive ever seen!
I had a custom murphy bed, desk and entertainment center built in my house a few years ago from Stone Creek Furniture. At the time I purchased a five year warranty on wood care repair. I just called them and requested service on two doors that do not close properly and to fix a small ding in the wood. I was never told that this five year warranty that I purchased would involve a trip charge of $125.00. Needless to say I am beyond upset, they have lost any future business from me. I think when you spend over $6,000 dollars and purchase an extended warranty I should have been told. Disappointed customer to say the least. I will be posting on every website I can find to discredit this business.
Awesome place. Nothing but the finest craftsmanship done around town.
Amazing custom furniture and wonderful customer service.
Excellent quality semi custom crafted furniture!
Tamra was very helpful and professional.
I like their work but I don’t think their prices are reasonable. My friend got a media wall installed from them and it was an arm and a leg. They need to reconsider their prices. Overpriced!!!
It was pleasant.
Great place to work!!!
Excellent!
Friendly staff
