I love this cafe! Everything is great from the service, the coffee, and drink and food items. The shop itself is lovely with lots of plants and local goods for sale along with whiteboard you can draw on. Its a really fun environment! The food tastes great and the baristas are knowledgeable and friendly!
Good coffee. Atmosphere is fun, and the service is fast. They know what they are doing. Did I mention the price was not bad?
My favorite coffee shop within the U of I campus area. Awesome vibe, great staff, amazing menu, and they make the BEST matcha latte.
This place is super cute! Went to go visit my friend and we went to this shop. Lots of space to sit. Great beverages and pastries. They even have a room where the walls are entirely whiteboard!Employees were super kind and welcoming.
Best coffee in the C-U area! Really cute study areas as well, especially after their revamp. The baristas are friendly and the coffee is really good. I also really appreciate how there are always new drinks to try.
An awesome space to grab a coffee/tea and hang out. Love that they showcase a local jewelry maker at the front of the cafe!
My favorite coffee shop. Workers are very friendly, coffee is great! I looooove matcha here too.Croissants and food is smth to improve!
One of the best coffee spots in town, nicest people, great wifi, amazing lattes. The spinach and cheese croissant melts in your mouth!
This cafe is so so good, and the service is so friendly! One of my favorite places to study
Great place to sit down and bust out some work. Good coffee and snacks to much on. Usually quite busy. Great sitting spots with convenient power outlets for your devices.
Always friendly service (actually friendly, not just neutral) and great coffee in a very neat environment. Great place to meet with a group to discuss something academic and draw on the whiteboard walls. Also love their collection of local goods (cards, mugs, stickers, etc)!
I love their cortado.
BrewLab Coffee provides patrons with a fabulous atmosphere. Not only that, but the baristas are as cordial as clerks get and are knowledgeable too.The product is expensive and service is a bit slow, both consequences of artisan brewing, I suppose. So if youre in a rush, Id suggest elsewhere; however, if youre looking to sit down and power through work, you cant go wrong with BrewLab.
Great place with awesome coffee options. I tried the Shamrock Cream Soda and it was pretty good which surprised me. Love Brew Labs!
She told me that she didnt have Matcha latte but she served it for other customer…and their Chai latte was so sugary but thin🥲 maybe should have ordered coffee.
Good coffee, but the mexican popsicles are to die for.
Had an amazing time here when I was visiting Champaign. Situated at the east side of the UIUC campus, Brew Lab is easily accessible from buildings around the Main Quad such as the Altgeld Hall and the Illini Union. They offer classic espresso drinks, cold brew, a few selections of single-origin pour-overs, and an extensive list of loose leaf tea. After asking for recommendations, I ordered the Kigoma from Huye, Rwanda, a washed processed light-medium roasted beans from Counter Culture. The pour-over is made on a copper V-60. The drink is rich and flavorful. The sweet and slightly bitter taste gives a strong toffee note, a hint of vanilla, and a mild citrus fruit acidity.I also tried out the iced cascara tea. Light, refreshing, fruity, with notes of raisins and Chinese dates. A very unique drink. In my view, BrewLab is the best coffee shop in town, and I highly recommend to check it out!
Were coffee people, and were SO glad we finally made it here! Top notch coffee, friendly baristas, and a bright, cozy space to hang. Well be back next time were in town!
I accidentally found this place on Google, and decided I needed to visit. They had an early bird sale for $2 off holiday drinks, so I headed in before work. I normally would have gotten a plain latte to test them out first, but opted to try the Merrymint Mocha to take advantage of the deal. It was probably the best coffee drink Ive ever had. It wasnt sickly sweet like starbucks holiday drinks. I fall into a trap working so close to Starbucks, when I want better coffee I usually hit Harvest Markets coffee bar, but its nice knowing that if Im running early for work I can drive a bit further for exceptionally better coffee.
This indi coffee house is outstanding. One of the best cappuccinos I’ve had. A must stop while in Champaign.
Good coffee shop!
Good coffee but theres always a line here
Good coffee and friendly service.
The seating area has a super nice aesthetic and they have some unique decor, like a giant map where you can tag different bike routes you liked around town. I had a cold brew, first time trying one so can’t compare but I liked it!
Really liked their iced oolong tea. good vibes, cute shop
This is a good place for local coffee and study when there is not COVID-19.
Great spot for coffee, away from the big chains.
I was driving through Champaign and decided to stop for a cup of Joe and to walk around the campus. I stumbled across this place by happenstance. What I found was a perfect cup of cappuccino, which is so rare. If my travels ever take me to Champaign again, I will certainly pay another visit.
Latte is great! They brew good coffee. They also sale bread and cookies.
Best Americano in Champaign
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff... Good cappuccino and delicious croissant. I was rather disappointed at their small selection of pastries but what they had tasted great... Neat vibe too...
Great cup of drip, so they have that dialed in. barista was really cool w customer in front of me...remade his order bc he was surprised how different his coffee was from starbucks. great vibe for a tiny shop. only one person working and a long wait, but its covid. if I lived near this spot, Id surly make t a regular stop.
Probably the best coffee in Champaign. The shop has a unique & slightly quirky vibe thats probably not for everyone, but if youre looking at just the coffee, I havent had anywhere in CU thats better. Sells Counter Culture beans by the 12oz, $2 off if youre buying them on a Tuesday!
Hands down the best coffee Ive ever had. Im very impressed.
Great espresso. Always get a cup before heading back to Chicago
BrewLab is the perfect combination of coffee and community. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee and tea are of incredibly high quality and always prepared well. A campus town favorite!
Cold brew was delicious and oat milk is great option thank you for having it. I loved the atmosphere of this place, very clean, well lit, with a I have a studio apartment in new york city and here, please meet my forest of beloved houseplants vibe. Which is a very chill vibe.
Its a good place, has some different types of coffee for people who like exploring. I think the location and vibe are stronger aspects than their coffee! Friendly staff and cute setting!
BrewLab is cute, a little small but thats not incredibly important to me. The size is actually charming and people make it work. I mostly review for quality of drink, and the espresso here is some of the best in town, if not the best. Lots of citrus on the nose. Its medium bodied, bright, has low acidity, with a complex finish. Each time Ive had its been served with cheer. I would say its a destination cafe, not necessarily one I could do work in because of the size constraints and the overflow of customers but that is kind of a good thing.
This place isnt as frequented as other cafes or coffee shops. That means its generally a good spot to study or chill at. Coffee is pretty decent and at a good price. Theres plenty of spots but nothing is comfy if that was something you were looking for.
Nice place to hang out with friends. I had an americano here, but it didnt taste that great.
Lowkey not a fan; thought Id treat myself to a quality cup of coffee with a friend and ended up getting some chocolate milk-like substance with a hint of three day old coffee in it. Nevertheless, you all seem to know the vibes that I do not nor will I ever, so just come see for yourself.
I like to go here and study multiple times a day. There aren’t many tables inside, but I’ve always been able to find seating. The staff is friendly and seems very knowledgeable about coffee—theirs is good. I like their teas as well. Prices seem a little inflated, though appropriate for its proximity to the heart of campus.
Nice little coffee shop. Cappuccino was good and coffee wasnt bitter. Worth a visit if you want a local not Starbucks proper coffee!
Pretty nice place, its pretty hipster though. Taste good though
Great coffee, well prepared, made our visit to the town remarkable
Always a great vibe when you come here! The coffee is always on point, and the staff is always friendly! Stop in and check them out!
BrewLab serves counter culture beans, which is a great roaster.I was impressed by the simplicity of the coffee shop and the politeness of the baristas.
A progressive coffee space! I tried their espresso and it was very well-balanced. Latte was also pretty good. A fun space to be in, with a hint of 3rd wave attitude.
Great experience here! Baristas are very friendly and the coffee is top-notch. Highly recommend.
Keep up the great quality coffee and Ill keep coming back. Youd see a lot more of my dollars if you were open past 7pm too :) Besides these non-complaints, I love this place!
Really good coffee, probably the best in town. Every brew is precisely crafted and the barista are very knowledgeable and helpful. Make sure to try the affogato, one of the best Ive ever had
My favorite cafe in town. Very friendly welcoming atmosphere with a good creative vibe that helps conversations flow (especially with drawing on the walls). They have serious espresso-chops too and pull an essentially perfect shot
I didnt actually stop in -just walked by on the way to get a haircut- but i have heard good things about this place from others, so it is worth a try....
The espresso here is top notch and comes with a side glass of Topo Chico. The space is sunny in the front with lots of succulents adorning the window, and more secluded in the back for folks wanting to do laptop work. All the walls are whiteboards, so its a popular spot to get group work done. A doorway inside connects to the bike shop next door where this is additional seating. Out front theres a nice patio, plenty of bike parking and tools/airpumps for your cycling maintenance needs. Top 3 coffee shop in town and the best on campus!
Coffee was really bitter (although that seems to be a fad these days) and expensive compared to the other stores nearby. The ambiance is amazing though and makes up for the coffee. It’s a good place to work.
Nice little place thats .8 miles from Illini. Decent prices. They have 3 menus, one of which is mostly (if not totally) single sourced beans. Id go again. Not much seating but they share space with a bike shop attached nextdoor.
Best quality coffee in town (in my opinion). Great study vibe + cool coffee culture events every now and then.
Quality coffee spot, a little bit of a hectic environment. Service was pretty good - I find it very cool that they serve Counter Culture coffee.
Great coffee! Great espresso! Nice & friendly staff. Perfect for coffee snobs or a nice place to study/work.
Nice place to be with friends. Their coffee is amazing. I love their capuccino!
Good coffee but they need to have more than one person working the counter.
Friendly staff, nice jazz vibes and amazing interior.Great equipment, from EKs and Victoria Arduino grinders to the classy Black Eagle.Well extracted coffee with a good Union variety of beans. Single origin and blend choices for filter.Spot on flat white and long black. Will deffo come back.🙏☕
Really enjoy coming to Brewlab Coffee to get a coffee and always a great place to hand out with friends, and they host various events for customers to have fun! Highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking great coffee and friendly staffs!
Great atmosphere and great coffee. If its busy, you might be waiting a moment for your coffee, but its completely worth it.
Nice little place with a good vibe. Dog friendly.
I love the atmosphere. Their coffee is pretty good and employees are super nice.
Place is amazing.Staff is amazing.Coffee is amazing.Mission is amazing.Lucky if you get a table.
One of my favorite places in Champaign to get a latte
Good place for physics chat over coffee!
Best coffee shop on campus with amazing pour over coffee. Only spot where the black coffee dont taste like bitter hot water
They have the BEST matcha latte in town, hands down! I’ve tried a lot of different places in CU, and this one is the best. It has a rich, true matcha flavor with only a tiny hint of sugar. Brewlab makes great tea and coffee, the staff are always friendly, and the space is fun. (My second favorite matcha in town is at Page Roasting Co. on First Street, although Brewlab’s is better priced.)
Great vibe for working, tasty drinks, friendly baristas
Kinda boujee, staff is knowledgeable, back seating area has personality, maybe stop here if you want an upgrade to Starbucks
The best Cafe in the campus area, they have delicious croissants! Also, their expresso is incrible good. Ive enjoyed so much this cozy atmosphere. Ill leave the town and I miss this place.
No doubt best coffee on green st . If you want well balanced coffee here it is, for cafe bene beans used there is medium roasted it will taster bitter than here. Also the owner has a great taste of hip hop, huge shoutout for him !
Great coffee, clean and neat space makes it great for studying, and the baristas are always friendly.
A great little coffee place!I was overjoyed to find a coffee shop that actually did manual brews! Both the times I have gone, on different days, with different baristas were amazing! My cup was brewed perfectly, and you get a pretty decent amount of coffee! The lady got a vanilla latte, and I just sticked with a regular ole black coffee, no need for cream or sugar when the coffee is actually good! The staff is very clearly knowledgeable on the best way to do a pourover.their walls are all markerboard, so you can write a note on the wall while youre getting your caffeine fix! They also have succulents for sale!
Loved everything about it! Great community-minded employees and great coffee
When asked the barista if he would warm up my croissant, he wouldnt warm it up saying you dont warm up a croissant and that it was made fresh that morning. First time Ive ever been told at a coffeehouse how I am supposed to eat what I purchased!
Crippling college coursework has forced me to seek refuge in the humble coffee shops around campus at one point or the other. All coffee shops on campus can satisfy my basic needs, but none truly provide the shelter I need from the looming threat of unsubsidized student loans. It wasnt until I accidentally stumbled upon the caffeinated oasis that is BrewLab that I truly found peace of mind. When my fears of job security grows larger or the realization that Ill be without adequate health insurance sneak into my psyche I can escape my problems by blissfully indulging myself in a delectable cup a joe.Long live BrewLab
Great little coffee shops just a couple of steps away the main thoroughfare of Green Street, not a chain with a good vibe, coffee from a local roastery, local pastries, craft sodas. Lots of plants are a bonus and add to the overall friendly feel.
Great vibes, awesome coffee. Hipster barista knows his coffee.
Sat down for a cappuccino yesterday and it was one of the best Ive had around here. Great staff, thats happy to talk coffee with you.
Nice people, espresso was too bitter...i suggest something with milk
Took me a little while to find the best coffee shop in Champaign, but this is it. Knowledgeable baristas, terrific coffee, and what more do you want!
