Last year, the service person got glass inside the door of my rear door while replacing the glass, thus causing the latch of the door not to be able to open. After a body shop looked at it and briefly played with the latch, the door was able to open. Instead of paying the body shop $150 to fix the door for good, Safelite vacuumed out the glass. For a year it worked, but then last month the latch stopped working again and I found glass by it on the inside (see photo). I had to pay $698 to get the latch replaced and the door fixed. The corporate office said that the local shop was not responsible for latch and it was not covered under warranty.I will not trust them again with my car.

The rear window of my SUV got smashed the day before we were moving my daughter into her dorm. Fortunately we had another car to move her, but we were 9 1/2 hours away from home and needed to drive back to get to our other daughter. Eric was awesome and fit my SUV into the schedule so that it could be fixed and I still had time to drive home the same day. The guys at this Safelite really made my day and turned what was upsetting into a positive experience. The window seems to be installed well as it made it over 600 miles, at high speed and in the rain, and has been through the storms from Tropical Storm Fred already. Thank you so much!!

Poor service, poor quality handle fall off after a year. (i never touch that window, i just left it shut since they fix it). Secondly, they didnt put back properly the whole entirely rear internal cover of my car ( i think they removed it to fix the window) it left a whole inch gap, i need to snap it back myself (not easy man!!!)

Horrible!! small rock chip turned into major crack during there work. 130 dollar job now going to coat 900 for new windshield.

Very unprofessional. I made an appointment to have my windshield replaced two weeks in advance and arranged for a day off from work to get it done. When I arrived at the shop they said to wait to see if they had my windshield available. They found one but didnt have the correct molding available. So my day was wasted. They had two weeks to prepare and order the correct windshield and molding for my car. They even texted me to confirm my appointment before I arrived but didnt have the required parts.I am having another company replace my windshield.

Had a 2 day old dime length crack in front window serviced. I do not say repaired because it was not, actually it was made 5x bigger by the tech. So this went from free to now $500 because of the repair. The tech was nice but very unsure and seemed very inexperienced, has only done it a year. Unlike my career 30 years now Im super confident. I talked to MGT and will now have a competitor replace the window. I would not trust this service with the low quality and low experience of the tech. I made a BBB complaint to thier Coporate Office and did find on-line where some stores when thier tech makes the window worse they replace it free. Well this Manager is not offering this but I will not stop until this is resolved.

Excellent experience- windshield is as good/better than original.Do go online to book your appointment and receive a discount on the final cost.For about the same cost as elsewhere, a nationwide lifetime (while owning said car) warranty is included.I brought my car to the shop, as I didnt have a good location available for on-site replacement. The work took a little over an hour - faster than I expected, & the technician was personable & professional, as was the manager.The place is staffed with nice people who are very considerate of customers who are waiting.The manager even turned his office into a study area so that students wouldnt have to balance their study materials on their laps while waiting.How great is that?Very happy with my experience here!

Good price. Customer service lacking. Took a vehicle with broken windows in. They replaced the windows... and cleaned up some of the glass..... And didnt even wash the other exterior glass.

Had an issue with my power window. Called and scheduled an appointment. Received a call back later that day saying take the car to your mechanic. I said your website says you handle power windows??? He said I might have to order parts. I said screw it and called a competitor.

Did a good job but they tried giving me a used windshield with a chip in it.

Im seeing all these negative reviews and Im not sure why ( maybe just a bunch never satisfied people ) cause I had my appointment scheduled for today between noon and 5 and my tech, Eric, called me at about 10:45 saying he was running early and if it would be ok if he came out early. Got here in like 5 minutes and was done in like 30 minutes. Would HIGHLY recommend ( considering that when I called other places in town the person answering the phone did not realize they even had store in town )

One of the WORST/UNPROFESSIONAL experiences I have ever had.!!! Miscommunication after miscommunication. Quoited three separate prices for the identical service. Scheduled afternoon window replacement but one of us got that wrong. Rescheduled with the call center only to have the local office cancel that appointment. In the end it took three appointments to compete the work. They called and left EIGHT messages at my work regarding the credit card and scheduling. They had the credit card--it was on the original paperwork...Needless to stay, If Sullivan had not recommended them I would not have done business them. AND I CANNOT recommend them.

$93 for a small star in my windshield! For that kind of money, youd think theyd at least clean the windshield. It was said, We are unable to get bugs off a windshield. Ill get a DIY kit next time. On a positive note, the work was done quickly.

Needed our car window repaired, they got us in within a few hours. Very helpful on the phone and in the shop! You could still see the small chip in the window, but the employee did explain it might not all disappear after fixing it, which I thought was great for him to explain before he worked on it so there were no surprises. I plan on visiting again for any future needs!

If i could rate a 0 i would. Went in for a rock chip left 15 min later with a fractured window. Technician lied saying he informed of risk prior to service. Was informed store manager would call me. I have yet to receive a call.I will not be returning ..and would never recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is horrible.I will be getting my window replace by american eagle.

Very professional! There were a few hiccups with the scheduling - both due to errors on my part and theirs, but they gave me a discount for my trouble that paid for the house call to my job site. They finished in the allotted time and even vacuumed my front seat carpets. Terry was my tech and he did a fantastic job. Hope I dont need them again, but if I do I would be happy to use them again.

One of their employee in Champaign, IL made a illegal turn, cut me off and had the audacity to honk at me. I called the local office to complain but of course, I had to jump through hoops to get a live person but was put on hold. Safelite should remind and train the employees that when you’re in a service business, it’s not a good idea to be rude.

This is my worst experience of service ever. I went there to replace my car window. They did replace the window and then i find my botton to control the window is not work. Then they told me they cannot fix it. Well then I have to go to another mechanical repair store to pay for their fault.... Basically they cost me anther 280 dollar and they told me will send me a check but that never happens.

Safelite is garbage! I have had my windshield replaced twice now and it has leaked both times and they are now telling me they wont replace it again. The original replacement leaked in my ceiling. After they replaced it again it is now leaking under my dash. I took it back yesterday with photos of the leak and after leaving it there for 4 hours when we picked it up they said they ran water on it for 3 minutes and could not find a leak so they did nothing. It is raining today and my windshield is still leaking under my dash. I had no issues prior to safelite. I had them replace the windshield originally because of a small chip that was in the line of site of the driver. That windshield leaked from the ceiling. They sent a tech out to replace it. When the technician came to my house all he did was complain about how he was overbooked and told me it might be my drain in my sunroof being clogged. (Again, no issues prior to safelite) After he took my windshield out he showed me where it was missing sealant from the tech that did the original replacement. When I took it back yesterday I got the same BS about the sunroof even though the leak is now in a different spot with this replacement windshield and they did nothing. Garbage company, shotty work, terrible service! Avoid at all costs! If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. By th he way, this is a 2016 Yukon SLT with 45,000 miles, not an older vehicle. No issues prior to safelite.

I would also give them a zero if I could. 3 separate appointments. No replaced windshield. The first appointment at my home they said it had to be replaced. Could not be fixed. Never told me they werent bringing a windshield and I would have to drive to Champaign. Wasted 4 hours. 2 weeks later, dropped off car (2 hour drive to do this) just to find the next day, they never checked the new windshield - it was cracked and new ones were on back order. Another 2 hr drive to pick up the car that wasnt fixed. Wasted time, gas and mileage on 2 cars. Also to later find out it could have been done in my garage. 3rd and Last appointment I insisted it be done in my garage but they screwed around so long that it was now too cold. They just discovered Their new glue has to be applied in at least 56 degrees but didnt tell me that or ask if my garage was heated until the day of the appointment at 10am. Supposed to be fixed between 8-12N. They had to find a shop to work in, in Danville. Took till 2pm. I had to transport the car there and then get home just to then find out they were missing the trim from the new windshield and couldnt get it in for 3 days. I was done. Worst company Ive dealt with in a long time. Went with American Eagle glass in Danville and they had it done with in 3 days of me calling. No hassles. Ive dealt with Safelite in other cities and never had a problem. Will never use the one in Champaign again.

I did a chip repairing in this store but the result is not good. People are also not friendly which I dont really mind. They didn’t even give me the price before repairing but charge me 93 dollars for a 15 minute chip repair. It’s much higher than the price of other stores. After I represent my doubt, they change the price to 50 using the reason that I have StateFarm insurance.

DO NOT GO! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a small rock hit my windshield 2 months ago so I went to Safelite in Champaign, IL to get it fixed. Everyone said it filled nicely and it will have no structural issues. The fix was directly behind my rear view mirror and I was unable to see it....until today. 2 months later, the crack extended by 5x the initial length! When I called Safelite to see what my options were, they told me that the fixes are never 100% guaranteed. I will need a windshield replacement that they would credit the amount I paid for the repair previously making my total $300! Good thing this town has plenty of Auto-Glass repair shops because I would much rather half of my paycheck go to the small time shop Mikes Auto Glass Plus in Champaign, IL, than the corporate greed that is Safelite Auto....

The employees were very helpful and made my experience a breeze. I would definitely go back.
