This is a very cute place. It has a huge list of flavors, the prices are great and the line isnt as big as other places. They also sell hotdogs for a full meal hahahaThe only thing is that it could do a visual makeover... but being understaffed I guess it got other priorities. If you need a job give them a call!
Very good ice cream and fun atmosphere. A double scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone will run you $5.50. The flavors seem to change regularly, for example I had pumpkin and cinnamon. Great for the family to grab an ice cream and head back towards the rail tracks to watch the Marta and freight trains pass.
We always love going to frosty caboose. The prices are reasonable, especially for kids, and you can sit and watch trains pass from the parking lot. Just dont get too close to the tracks. Sometimes the line is long, but its definitely worth the wait my two year old loves going to frosty caboose.
Tasty, and cute that it’s literally a train car. Was pleasantly surprised that they have my favorite flavor: green tea! It’s a good location to walk around in. The guy at the register was really nice too!
Great ice cream and the family loves stopping by once a month. Be sure to ask for Whipped Cream, Sprinkles and Pecans on your cone or cup!
Three of us went at 8:15 on a Saturday night. There were a few parties in front of us, but the line moved fairly quickly. As we ate our ice cream, the line grew, so we definitely went at the right time.We got a scoop of banana pudding ice cream in a waffle cone, a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough in a bowl, and half cookie dough and half cookies and cream in a waffle cone. It came out to a little more than $12, before tip, which isn’t too bad. The banana pudding was amazing, with actual vanilla wafers in it. The cookie dough and cookies and cream were really good too. Half and half scoop is the way to go because you get more ice cream out of it.They have plenty of parking. They also have 2 trash cans. There’s not much space to eat, so we just stood around a tree planter while we ate.A few problematic things:- In COVID times, he lady ringing us up was wearing a mask, but it wasn’t covering her nose.- One of the guys scooping our ice cream wasn’t wearing a mask at all.- Unrelated to COVID, one of their sundaes is called “Orient Express,” used to describe their sundae with green tea. “Orient” is politically incorrect and I really wish they wouldn’t use this term, especially considering solely white people are working there.Overall, though, I would recommend. Please fix the mask situation though.
We’ve been coming here for years. Our favorite ice cream in Atlanta. Cool place to eat ice cream and watch the trains. Great location. If I’m not mistaken, the ice cream in made by a local manufacturer.
Gives a wonderful old-school ice cream place feel. Been here a couple times and theres usually a good amount of people in line, but not too bad a wait, maybe 10-ish min. Great shakes as well with overall good serving sizes too. Workers have always been friendly. Good place to take the kids.
You should try it. Real tasty flavors with character. Add nice service and bring good company = fun
Went in and was greeted with a warm welcome by a young man sam and a young lady Samantha. They walked me through the Menu and helped me make my selection. Delicious, cheap and quick food! Very Satisfied with my visit and the customer service!!
We have been here a few times and had decent experiences. Today when I went the manager held a dirty open/close sign on my 3 year olds head to prove she was over 36” and couldn’t get the free kids cup. We would have paid for her ice cream. Touching my toddler was unnecessary and embarrassing. I read the reviews and can see that this has been going on for many years. As someone else said, it took the fun out of ice cream. We left and went to Roll It Up Ice Cream close by and had a much more welcoming experience.
Neat atmosphere and worth visiting. I wasn’t overly impressed with the ice cream. Decent, but doesn’t stand out.
My husband and I love frequenting the Frosty Caboose. The ice cream is delicious and made locally down the street at Greenwood Ice Cream which is very cool! The prices are fare and the staff friendly and efficient!
Tasty treat in a cute little venue!
Love this place. They give you so much ice cream, and its so good. I love that you can sit and watch the trains pass by while eating your ice cream. So peaceful!
The ice cream was great. Sundaes, cones, sprinkles. Tasty a d cool.
Lots of options, classics and regular. Not too expensive either
This place is delicious!!!! Fast & friendly service. I tried the coconut ice cream and banana split.
Yummy ice cream served from a vintage caboose!😋
Friendly, speedy service.Prices are a bit higher than expected.Menu boards need an update.Went here trying to support family-owned businesses. Will go back on a warmer day!
Cute ice cream place where you walk up to the old train car and order! My husband and I love to go here after a date night in Chamblee. Their ice cream flavors change but a few regulars are always on the menu! I’m type 1 diabetic and really appreciate that they have flavors that I can have (almond amaretto) is my favorite
This place was cute. The icecream was pretty good! The whole fam enjoyed it. The mocha almond fudge was delicious! And the best part was all there dairy free options! They had a bunch! My sister loved that.
I got banana pudding because I’ve never had that flavor before. It was really good. The service people are patient and helpful, and the ice cream is AMAZING. It’s creamy while still being not to heavy, and didn’t melt for a long time without being too cold. Even though I was on a school trip with 21 people, they turned us all around within ten minutes.
One of my favorite local places to get ice cream! I’m glad that they’re still open late in the winter, and love the new flavors too!Only thing that was a concern is that the couple of times I’ve gone, a few of the staff is either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly; the person who was ringing up orders had her nose exposed, and one of the servers who handed me my cone was not wearing a mask at all.
Best ice cream in Atlanta hands down! Fresh, delicious, scrumdidylumpcious! You also cant their affordable prices! My wife got the sundae and it was so big we both shared it!
Oh my I cant find the right words for this place. I love it!And I love ice cream!
Awesome staff. Helpful and great ice cream! Prices are not as expensive as other not as good Ice cream joints.
My favorite place to get a root beer float!
Best ice cream in ATL
The best ice cream i have ever had
Very nice people and great ice cream, has become a special place for my daughter and I
Best ice cream in the world hands down
A nice ice cream venue next to the railroad tracks (fitting), so you can watch trains pass as you enjoy your favorite dessert.
Very good ice cream, but i don’t understand the train car
Always great service, great options and delicious flavors. Cant wait for Spring to start getting the mango ice cream again. Their shakes, banana splits and sundaes are delectable.
The perfect after dinner family ice cream spot!
My husband and I come here very frequentlyThe ice cream is made local and is always delicious. I recommend the chocolate peanut butter! The staff is always friendly and the location is great and easy to get to. Come here if you want a great dessert!
You think you know what good ice cream is? Allow me to introduce you to GREAT ice cream! Y’all... you can buy it in pints and quarts too! Five stars (or cones) 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
Ice cream was cold, loved it.
Always excellent! Key lime pie is the best. Adorable train caboose converted to an ice cream shop. Next to a real railroad train tracks. Great spot for kids and adults!
Great little ice cream stand (and more). They have a seasonal menu as well as the favorites and special flavors.
Excellent double vanilla milkshake is the bomb!!!
Stopped by this cute little spot because we were really craving some sweets and maaaaaaaan was it one the best decisions we’ve made in a while. They make everything fresh to order right in front of you and everything had the perfect amount of sweetness. Its across from vintage pizza and they have a huge parking lot that’s easily accessible. It took everything out of me to not go back and grab seconds 😭 yes, it’s THAT good. Try their strawberry milkshakes 🤤🤤🤤
Love this place. Great place to visit year round.
Lemon sorbet was outstanding. Blue Raspberry Italian ice was solid.
Kids of all ages love it! Nice spot to enjoy ice cream and watch the trains go by.
Nice atmosphere and a simple but tasty selection. Recommend their banana pudding and their pumpkin pie icream, umm!
This place is definitely cute but it’s tiny. You can only access the window to order food by way of a tiny, cramped rail. There were over 2 dozen other people and only one couple wore a mask. It’s impossible to social distance on the tiny ramp and I just felt uncomfortable with my two small kids the entire time. My other issue with this place was how quickly their ice cream melted! My son’s ice cream literally started melting before we even received it and half of it melted by the time we left the line and walked to the back towards the train tracks. It was a very disappointing experience.
Absolutely amazing selection of flavors. They have delicious ice cream. There is usually a line in summer but it adds to the ambiance and I enjoy that there are other people around. Just be sure to bring the bug spray for the mosquitoes.
Nice variety, tastee items.
Ice cream was good
Defenilly a good decision for tonight as a dessert and the flavors are really good...and not expensive at all
Perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth
Love their location and their ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose! My favorite flavors are pistachio and peach (with peach pieces on it) 😋🤤. I totally recommend going to get an ice cream and then hang out by the train tracks in a full moon night!
The fudge was warm
Great icecream and place to watch planes, and trains. No bathroom, but everyone serving had a mask on.
Best ice cream! Eclectic setting with a host of shopping sites. Ask for the butter pecan! The owner and her team are always polite, efficient and serve the tastiest treats. No dairy rule? No worries. They have other options too!
Totally cool little ice cream caboose. Good assortment of flavors! Great place to stop by if you are in the area
Amazing ice cream, amazing milkshakes and AMAZING customer service!!!!!!!
This place has a cool train-car setup and very close to Marta. Service was pretty fast and the ice creams are really delicious. Ive been visiting at least once a month now. I would recommend this one.
We are so in loved with this neighborhood gem. They have amazing ice cream and top notch milkshakes. The staff is friendly and you can get rewards points. It has no really seating but there is a a lot of benches a few blocks down.
Really a train caboose, selling good ice cream and NYC-style dirty-water dogs (New Yorkers will be familiar with that). No indoor seating. I had a delicious scoop in a cup. Will likely go back when in the area.
Yummy 😋
They were out of most flavors. Luckily, they had the kind I like!
Pretty cool walk up ice cream spot in Chamblee. No interior seating but plenty of places to sit scattered around the caboose. The green tea and pistachio ice cream choices were really good. Ill definitely be going back.
Love this place. Ice cream is good and the open air ambiance and trains rolling by is great. They should put out some picnic tables though for sure.
Good selection of ice cream. The almond amaretto was great. My son loves trains, so getting Ive cream next to the tracks was a big treat for him. Just wish there was a better seating option or some sort of sectioned off area for kids. Also be aware that there is no barrier between the active railroad tracks and the grassy area next to the parking lot.
Nice little ice cream shop! Ordered the chocolate peanut butter and there were big chunks of peanut butter that wasn’t mixed in. It was still super tasty and it’s overall a really nice spot.
Fresh, creamy, and delicious! Everything I’ve had there has been great, but I highly recommend the Cookie Monster and chocolate almond fudge.
Banana pudding ice cream is awesome even worth 5 lactaid pills
Kids love it great variety. Nice to watch the train pass by. Especially if you have a little conductor with you lol
Great place for a little treat! Cute little caboose with a wide variety of homemade ice cream flavors -some of which are seasonal. I really like the banana pudding! It’s a great place to bring the kids and watch the trains go by while they enjoy their ice cream!
Such a great experience. Amazing icecream and atmosphere. We sat out on my tailgate and ate our icecream.
Nice place to have a good ice-cream .
Unique place - choc ice creame was bomb
Just got an awesome green tea milkshake from this place. I meant to take a picture of it... But I forgot before I finished half of it. 😋 This seriously might be one of the best milkshakes Ive ever had. The ice cream that they use is restaurant-quality.Definitely recommend coming here to enjoy a treat and browse through the antique shops nearby.
This is my new go-to for ice cream in Chamblee/Brookhaven! I love that its a small business, and the owner is also the one taking orders. The workers here are all really friendly. The menu also isnt too expensive. Ive had both their cones and shakes, and will always recommend this place to my friends!
Best ice cream in Atlanta. No other comments necessary.
Awesome ice cream! Great selection of flavors, and it really is in a caboose. If you are lucky, you will actually see a train go by. Or at least, a Marta train...If you havent tried this place, I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
The icecream has no flavor... Ive been there at least 4 times these last few months and disappointing everytime. They need to bring back the cherry 🍒 Italian ice
Fast service and friendly. Got one of our flavors wrong but thats okay.
