The whole Metro family was extremely helpful and made the purchase very easy. The salesman, Cheech, was knowledgeable and helpful on every aspect. The parts counter was helpful and answering questions and getting a windshield for my bike. The sales desk staff was also helpful in finding apparel and a hat for me.

Customers beware!!! This dealership charges 3% on all credit card purchases. You dont know this until after the sale. There is no sign on the door or at the counter that states the additional charge. Was told that if I didnt want to pay the fee I could you the in-store ATM. Tried to pull out the cash but I was over the ATM limit. Owner was upset that he had to pay 5900.00 in credit card fees last year. To me, thats the cost of doing business. I wonder how much money he made on sales for the 5900.00 in credit card fee. When I questioned the GM about this un-common practice he asked me to leave and never come back. I went 30 miles to next Harley dealer and they were more than happy to take my credit card with 0 so-called fee.

I have owned 9 new bikes and a dozen used over the last 50 years. I was never made to feel more welcome or valued as a customer. No games and I got a good price on my trade. All the bikes new and used had clearly marked prices on them. Thats not the case at the majority of dealerships Ive been to. I was encouraged to take a test ride and asked to pick out 3 that I was interested in. Thats not common, either. So I strongly suggest before you buy anywhere else, you give the guys at Metro a shot.

Fast friendly service and plenty of parking
I was looking for a solid Heritage Classic for a good price. The team of Cord and the GM Cody came through and made my first purchase at Metro Harley a great experience. They are friendly, not pushy or high pressure. They gave me a more than fair deal and I am a proud owner of a beautiful Harley. In the Cedar Rapids area you have several dealers to chose from but in reality you should only chose one and that is Metro if you want a friendly environment staffed by folks who are honest up front and get you taken care of. You have a lifelong customer in us.
Took a while to get parts but they stood behind their quote and when things did not go to expectations they made it ride and fixed the issue.

We went in on a whim and purchased 2 bikes they had available. Since my partner is an over the road trucker I was the one that took care of everything. One part of the deal was to change my seat to a two seater instead of single seat. That was the only way I would have taken the bike I picked out. The sales person (who is now not there anymore) said they would just take the old seat and switch it with the new. It was agreed just to use a stock seat.Finally on the day the bikes get delivered I was called and informed that the bikes would be delivered late because the delivery guy had an emergency pick up. Found out that was a lie. They had to charge up the battery on my bike. Didn’t think much of it but after the bike sat for a week due to it constantly raining outside the battery was dead. Charged it up and some thing happened. Plus the bike was delivered with the old one person seat. So called them and had to fight to get the deal that I was supposed to get plus having issues with the battery. They come and pick up the bike now 1.5 months after getting it but not able to really use it to check it over. Keep having to call them and explain over and over about the seat. That took 3 weeks.Finally after threatening to return the bike they put on the seat that had to be ordered and changed the battery out on the bike, the sales manager Cody had called me after my partner had to get involved and basically made it sound like I was a lair and trying to make me feel bad about everything he had to do.I have decided when I ever need to get a new bike I rather deal with McGrath than ever go back to metro for anything.
Paid $720 for new tires and installation on my motorcycle. For such an outrageous price I would expect at least a basic inspection of the vehicle. No such inspection was done. Had they checked anything (Fluids, brakes, etc) they would have noticed that my chain was shot. Since they didnt bother to tell me, it failed on my way back from Sturgis and my bike was totaled. At least I have new $720 tires. Thanks.

First of all, way to go with the hand sanitizer! Smart thinking! My daughter wanted riding bouts so he pointed her to clearance first. Then we looked at leathers and helmets. They have a very nice variety. They were having a sale so she saved. They were very helpful about everything!

Going to metro is like visiting good friends. They just want to help you. Before i went to get a bike there, they helped me locate several parts for my 86 fxstc. There employees are knowledgeable and well informed, if they dont know they will find out. Friendly even when they are swamped.

Metro Harley Davidson has some of the best staff and friendly staff. I can go in there with the question and havent answered quickly and easily outs any judgment on how big or small my Knowledge is. They have a no pressure sales team. They give you fair accurate and cost effective solutions to any problem you and your Harley.

Nice people but some of the sales people can be a little annoying. Most people who come here know what they want or are just looking. So if we tell you we are good, then well come find you if we need you. Asking how were doing 3 times during our short visit was a little overbearing. It would be different if multiple people were asking,but it was the same guy. Calm down man!

Late afternoon on Friday of Labor Day weekend, my daughter was on her way home from college and hit something in the road which caused a flat tire. Alone in an unfamiliar area she wasn’t sure what she should do, so she walked into Metro looking for some assistance. In no time at all, one of service team changed her tire and recommend she not drive very far on the spare but go to a tire store to have the tire replaced. Not only were they looking out for her safety, but refused the money my daughter offered for their assistance. As a parent, I can’t begin to express my appreciation for taking care of my daughter in such a professional way.

We currently had an unacceptable experience w this business. They were to tune a VZ800 Suzuki Bike and sync the carbs. Not only has the bike come back in worse shape than it was brought mechanically, it is scratched, had a brand new peg barely hanging on and a mirror ready to fall off (this only happens when dumped). If this business did not have the experience to work on an older model bike, they should have said so. We are now out nearly $600 with damage which needs fixed and it running worse than it had before; it died 5 times on the drive home. Unacceptable and we expected more from this business.

My wife and I were enjoying a ride today when our bike broke down about 20 minutes away from Metro. I called and they picked us up and helped us tremendously!!!! Even though when we returned to the store it was closed they took the time to figure out what was wrong with the bike and where able to fix the problem. There was no rushing us or anything. Just hands down awesome customer service!!!!! We would like to call out the service manager for helping us with everything and getting us back on the road. We will go there hands down for anything we need for the bike. Thank you so much for everything. They made the buying Expierence of my first bike so easy. They did all of the work. I just had to pick a bike, and fill out paperwork. They were able to get me a fantastic interest rate and an amazing deal overall despite my bad credit or lack thereof. I will never buy from another dealership. I was treated like family from the moment I walked in. What I really liked is that I was bombarded by sales people, but they were there when I needed them. They werent faking being nice too, which was nice. Even if you just stop in to talk bikes with them, youll leave happy.

Unless you have a Harley, they treat you like dirt. They do not stock any parts for anything other than Harleys. I ride in on a Suzuki, I walk in and it appears that I am invisible in the way that I am interacted with and treated by the staff. And then, if you do go ahead and order a part, it takes at least 5 to 7 days for it to come in. In todays society, that kind of weight for part delivery is on acceptable. I usually end up having them get me the part number, and go on Amazon, and I get it the next day

May 17th my husband purchased a (new) 2019 Harley-Davidson street glide special. He found a bike that he liked, metro offered him a decent price for his trade and weren’t shy about calling him daily once he put in an application to finance the remainder of the purchase price. He’d worked out some details about getting extras on the bike and paying for those separately.I myself had been kicking around the idea of trading in my bike for something bigger, better, and with a warranty. Metro seemed to take care of my husband, so I reached out to them (one of the two sales people that my husband worked with). They didn’t get back to me right away (so I reached out other places too). When I reached out again, and I got a quick “I haven’t forgotten about you” message (when, as I mentioned earlier, they called my husband daily until he finalized his purchase). Maybe since I’m a woman they didn’t take me seriously? I was hesitant to work with Metro because a couple of years prior, when I was bike shopping, a sales person called me “cupcake” and said the fat boy I was looking at was “too big for me” even though it was similar to the bike I was already riding (and had been riding 5+ years).Within two weeks of my husband owning his bike (wicked red denim) he noticed a major defect in the paint on the right saddle bag. He immediately brought this to Metro’s attention (he hadn’t even had 300 miles on the bike, since it rained almost daily for 2 weeks). Metro took a look at it and agreed that it was a defect during manufacturing and not something that “could have happened” once my husband owned the bike. They promised to call him back. They informed him that they, as a dealership receiving new bikes from HD had about three weeks to notice and/or correct any flaws found in the bikes. Metro over looked this flaw.Three days go by and my husband calls to check in – they promise to get back to him ASAP (once again). A couple more days go by and my husband calls again (he had to call over 3 times to finally talk to someone about this). They REFUSE to replace the saddle bag or correct this major flaw in any way. They take no responsibility for selling a new Harley with a defect. And, it took nearly two weeks to come to this conclusion. Clearly customer service goes out the window once a sale is made.In the meantime, I get a GREAT deal at Harley Davidson in Clinton IA (seriously, it’s worth the drive to go to Clinton). My husband said to the sale person that I had reached out to “you really dropped the ball with my wife – she was looking to buy from you, but you didn’t get back to her and she got a great deal in Clinton.” The response was a weak excuse of “she never told me what she wanted.” I have text messages that tell him what I want…he just quit getting back to me – maybe it’s because I’m woman he didn’t take me seriously? Metro didn’t bother making sure my husband was completely satisfied with his bike, so why even bother trying to sell me one?My husband planned to get a ceramic coating to protect his paint job on his bike, however, is now unable to. The paint defect would have to be buffed out, (remember the wicked red denim?) and denim (or matte) paint can’t be buffed because it ruins the finish. Therefore, the bike can’t be buffed, so it can’t be ceramic coated.Metro, we are disappointed in your lack of professionalism. You have failed in all departments. I have successfully steered some great pals away from Metro and to Clinton where I know they will be well taken care of. Not only did Clinton get me a great deal, they have been professional, knowledgeable, friendly and their customer service is above and beyond. Oh, and they treated me like a customer buying a bike, not a woman just kicking tires.
Great people and great work. They took care of me, gave me an amazing trade, got the work that I wanted done fast and did a great job. Ive been to many Harley shops around the Mid-west, Im stoked this is not only the closest to me, but also the best overall experience Ive had at any of them.
Helpful salesmen made this visit better, but unfortunately being limited to one brand of motorcycle, I was on the search again. They were hesitant to confirm they could even do a simple oil change on another brand of motorcycle. I understand them not wanting to risk damaging something they are not familiar with, but I came away with more of an attitude than service.
Boys from Boston broke down on our way to Sturgis and our GPS brought us to Metro Harley Davidson...we were welcomed and the Metro crew immediately started to work on my buddy’s Harley...There was a broken valve guide and they did not have the part in stock...The Metro crew reached out to all their contacts and resourced the part that was needed...They installed the part and saved our trip... I have never met a more friendly, professional, and welcoming staff then at Metro. It is a breath of fresh air to know there is a business in the U.S. that still cares about their customers and are all about treating them right. If you are looking to purchase a bike or have it worked on, you need to go here... I personally will fly from Boston to buy a bike from here....Metro, I’ll let you know when I coming, lol... Thanks again and you guys know what it is all about!!!! Sturgis here we come, FIRED UP!!!!

Its a really nice place to go in, but I wish the store was a bit bigger. Theres a bigger HD dealer in other locations (like coralville), but the people that work here are great. Ive heard the service dept is not the best, but Ive never had any problems. Just sometimes they are very busy so it may take awhile to get a repair done.

Was driving through cedar rapids on the way home and was going to stop in to the Harley Davidson store, whose hours are open until 6pm, to pick up a souvenir as I collect their shot glasses. Lo and behold they decide to close and turn off their lights at 5:50 p.m. This poor consideration for their customers is definitely a sign that they care more about leaving a few minutes early on a Tuesday night rather than follow through on their posted hours, something I consider to be a promise to their customers.
