The cables on our garage door snapped in the middle of the day unexpectedly. I didnt call until after hours but they still offered to have someone out ASAP that night if I needed to get my car out. I declined because it wasnt an emergency and their repair guy was still out first thing the next day. He was super nice, explained to me right off exactly what was needing repaired and had the work done in under 20 minutes. They were just super prompt and professional.

I had a broken spring and wanted a subpar opener replaced. Send Overhead an email on a Sunday afternoon, had a response Monday morning and installation took place Tuesday morning. The customer service was excellent.My technician was Aaron S. He was great. Felt like he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the installation process.I absolutely will be using Overhead Door again with any garage door needs. From the beginning of the process to the end they exceeded my expectations. Appreciate their help getting our issues taken care of.

Mr. Powell.Our door was garage door was slightly damaged and I called another door company So the first guy that came out to fix the garage door, served in the military, super nice and he even did some work for on the springs and told his company that he only gave me an estimate.I told him that we were wanting to upgrade the door, but now was not a good time. I was just wanted to put a CARRIAGE BOLT in to hold it together. He said that wouldnt work. He told me the current door could not be fixed, it was a time bomb, that eventually would split apart.He gave me a quote for almost $930 to replace just the bottom panel. I knew that I could buy the panel from Menards for $330.So the next guy, Aaron, from Overhead doors came out, looked at it and without telling him what I wanted to do he said.If you want I can just put a CARRIAGE BOLT in it and it will not look great, but hardly noticeable.The garage door is fixed and I am very happy for that, but even more having an honest employee.Please give Aaron a raise!

My electricty was shut off due to line work so I detached my overhead door so i could get my vehicles out. The electricty came back on and when I started the garage door opener the cable came off on one side and twisted the door and rail. So with a pending snow storm coming the next day I called overhead door and asked for an emergency fix. To my surprise the serviceman, Aaron, was out within two hours and had everything fixed and adjusted properly. Very professional and a job well done and a happy customer.

Overhead Door repaired the remote-controlled garage door on my 1930s era home. They were able to do so on the afterfnoon of the same day I called in.Technician Bryan is familiar with (even old) Raynor doors, and did excellent, thorough work, is also very pleasant and personable.When I called to make the appointment, I knew Overhead Door had worked on this same door in the past. The office scheduler found the record: 2003!!One repair every 17 years is beyond awesome! See you in 2037!

I always get great service from Overhead Door Company. Theyve been out a few times over the years and always try the least expensive option first. My 20 year old garage door motor finally needed replacing but they only did that after trying to repair it. I was only charged for the new motor and labor for that. The time and parts spent on attempting the repair were not charged for. The new motor is much quieter too.

Our garage door was damaged from the Derecho . They came out quickly and the salesman was good. Our door kept getting not shipped when they thought it would which got frustrating.The only thing that really upset us was after the door install I found 5 nails and nuts bolts and some metal pieces on the driveway and garage floor.

Old house had 2 door openers installed. Both failed a few months before warranty. It only covered parts, so I had to install both motherboards myself. Current house has two doors installed. Weather stripping on both is brittle and chipping away, so needs replaced. Wireless keypad never worked well. It finally quit working all together. I called them today and asked someone about a quote for weather stripping and wireless keypad and was put on hold for about 5 minutes. After coming back they asked if they could help me (they obviously forgot they put me on hold) I asked again about a quote, to which I was put on hold and waited 15 minutes before hanging up. I gave 2 stars because the current doors and openers are still working properly.

The gentlemen was prompt and on time. We had issues with our garage door being a homeowner. Door was fixed beyond expectations, and he even went out of his way and did a little preventive maintenance. Garage door works better than before. I have nothing bad to say about this company they stand by their products.

I called Overhead this at 8 in the morning and Brian was here by 11. My garage door would not opened. I thought it was the garage door opener. He discovered and he was pretty confident that it was due to a wiring from a previous job on another project. He also lubricated the door, changed the light bulb in the opener. Answered and explained questions I had in general. Highly recommend Overhead.

I called Overhead Door of Cedar Rapids as one of our Liftmaster door openers quit after 20 years to get an estimate to replace it. I called and worked with Christie who was very knowledgeable of the product that we were interested in. She was able to answer all of my questions and had us on the schedule for the install the next day. Installer was on time answered any questions I had. Great to work with. Then I had one other question after install on a technical question in which Leon helped me walk through. The service and product were both great and would highly recommend this company !!!!

I was in a hurry on one day and accidentally backed into the garage door while the door was still opening. There was no damage to my car and garage door, but some of the wheels came out of track and the door wont close. I called them at around 8:15 and the guy on the phone was very professional and told me that he completely understands my problem and told me that they are able to come out around 1 pm and fix the garage door while I am at work. When I came home, I was really happy with their service and they even lubricated my garage door and now it operates very quietly. I was charged $137.50 for the service which is very reasonable . I had a Saturday afternoon emergency with my garage door--rollers off the track and whole door about to fall. Called Overhead Door and Bryan Bishop was here within 30 minutes. Called another fellow nearby to help because of the weight. Between them, in 1 1/4 hours (and $204) they had it fixed almost as good as new. Personable young men! Thank you for good service.

Monday morning I went to leave for work and our garage door would only go up about half a foot and stop. I called right at 8am and the friendly and patient woman who answered was able to diagnose the problem over the phone by asking just a few questions. She looked over the schedule and said they would be able to be out to see me that same morning. Jim called 20 minutes before he planned to arrive and he was THE BEST! Kind, warm, positive, and was thorough in explaining and educating me on what the issue was and even what I needed to consider going forward. He was honest, genuine, kind, respectful, and funny. This Overhead Door company and its employees are outstanding. We have lived in Iowa City several years and have had a couple of service calls on our garage door. Jamie and his assistant were here today to make an emergency repair so we could get our cars out of our garage. It was a major repair but they knew exactly what to do. In addition, when I called to request service, I got someone on the phone right away. The person who answered was reassuring, and she promptly requested service. It is so refreshing to find a company which offers great service. I give it the highest rating possible and would recommend this Overhead Door Company to anyone who needs help with their garage door.

Last night one of our two doors would not open, except manually. I called this morning at 8:30 and Christie asked me to go to the garage and look at the spring. Sure enough, it was broken! I was told someone would be here between Noon and 4:00. I got a call from Jim at 1:28, he was here at 1:41. He replaced the spring, tightened up the chain, oiled everything and as a precaution I had him replace the spring on the other door. He was out of here in 50 minutes. Very pleased with his attitude, knowledge, and thoroughness. Im glad the door had an Overhead Door sticker on it so I knew who to call. It definitely was the right call.

Great Employees here. on 2/18/2020 I went to a carwash in CR next to Walmart. Overhead Door was working on the full service bay doors, and as I pulled up an Overhead employee stopped what he was doing and opened up my bay door so I didnt have to get out. then when I was leaving he did it again he closed it for me, as the bays have heated floors, have to keep doors closed to keep heat in. most people would not have even paid attention. so again THANK YOU these are the kind of employees that are hard to find.

After multiple tries trying to get a hold of the company that installed my doors I emailed Overhead Door Company explaining my issue. They provided same day service replacing door sensors and circuit board parts on my Odyssey 1000 opener. I forget the technicians name... but he left a very detailed voicemail of what was done and offered to answer any questions I had. I am very pleased with the service. Thank you for putting your companies sticker over the original installers in my garage - it symbolizes the experience perfectly.

Had my torsion spring snap and needed a replacement so I first called the garage door company closest to me in North Liberty. They couldnt give me a quote over the phone so I stopped in and was going to be charged $150+ for a replacement spring as mine was not a typical size. This seemed really high so I called Overhead Door in Cedar Rapids and they told me it would be just under $80 even for larger springs. I stopped in and they were very friendly and helpful and even threw in a set of winding bars for free (which the other company didnt even carry). Overall very pleased with the service.

We purchased our garage doors from Overhead Door Co. of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City through our builder. Not only are the doors aesthetically beautiful, they are functional as well; which is of great importance, since our family uses the garage door as much if not more than our front door. Scott Wennermark was our sales rep and he was easy to work with and was both professional and knowledgeable. He took personal responsibility for ensuring our hinges and window inserts were done the right way and even made an extra trip to exchange the inserts out in order to meet expectations. This is our first Overhead experience and I would definitely refer this company to my friends and family.

I requested my contractor call Overhead Door because my previous house had Overhead Door and I only had to call the company once in 12 years, plus the time I updated my garage remote controllers. After moving to Iowa City, I built a garage and my contractor contacted Overhead Door for me. Overhead Door sent Dan to take measurements on a Wednesday afternoon and my door was installed on that Friday. I am amazed at how quiet my Odyssey 18x7 door is and it opens and closes smoothly. I kind of wish the remote was a little bigger like the old style so I would be less likely to lose it, but Overhead Door also installed a keypad for me just in case. Even though my contractor must have given Overhead Door my maiden name, Overhead Door found me and I was already in their system from the previous excellent service they provided.

Its Christmas Eve Day and our garage door gets stuck halfway open (actually she ran her car into the rail) bottom line its broken and open. Thinking there is no way I can find someone to come out today- I remembered that Overhead Door Company came out last year and We were pleased with their service- I called them and to my surprise they we open, I explained the situation and the nice young lady said they would be out soon- They arrived with in the hour !! The gentleman they sent quickly assessed the situation and began to work- He had it back together and working better than before in no time- He couldnt have been more friendly and professional. We had Overhead Door out 2 separate times and had mixed experiences. When we had the sensors replaced we paid $170 dollars which I thought was reasonable and the tech was very friendly and professional. A few months later we needed the springs replaced and that cost us $300 which seemed really pricey and the tech while it was a pretty cold day, was a little unprofessional while working on the door.

This company is fantastic! They installed new springs within a day or two of my call. They came when they said they would. They did a great job. When my door opener unit stopped working they sent a guy to do adjustments and got it going again. Im entirely and totally happy with this outfit, they have it together and are very professional. I replaced my garage door opener about 3 months ago and paid $400+, and I had to call them again as the door stop working. They came next day and just put away one item that was blocking and sent me a invoice of $50.00+. They were there for only few seconds. I like their work but not the price.... They should focus on retaining their existing customer like me.

I bought a legacy 800 model 2026 from overhead door co for 685$. From the beginning the opener gave me trouble so after 2 months of sporadic working I called overhead doors to come look at it. The tech came out and I told him what it was doing and I went in the house while he checked it. A little while later I came out and he was finishing whatever he did, told me it was fixed and left. The next day I got a call from the door co telling me the tech should have collected 75 dollars!!! and they wanted to collect it then. The said it was my fault the door didnt work right. I blew up on that woman telling her the door didnt work right since they put it in and I refuse to pay for the service call. She told me if I didnt pay up they would void my warranty on my 2 month old garage door opener. Told her she could void anything she wanted to and I wasnt about to pay and furthermore if I had anymore trouble with that opener I would rip that junk out and put in something I could depend on.Well, I change it with Lift Master that cost me half the price and now my door working great I lost some money but I will never use this guys again!!!

Unfortunately I only seem to have garage door issues on the weekend. I called for assistance at 10 AM today when one of the lift cables snapped while the door was going down. Got ahold of the receptionist, she took my info and told me the on call person would get ahold of me. Adam called within a hour, I told him what I needed and he told me hed likely arrive within a few hours. He was at my house within that time period and had the damaged assemblies swapped out in 20 minutes. I likely could have done it myself, but the fact that on a Saturday I was able to get service within 2 hours and they showed up with everything they needed and get it squared away made me write this review. I did pay overtime rates, but thats to be expected. Second time Ive called overheard doors, will absolutely use them again!

Competitors were going to be charging an hourly rate from their place of business to my home 30 miles away as part of their SERVICE, However, this was NOT the case with with this franchise.These were the people who originally installed the garage door opener, but I had forgotten. I shouldnt have......From the time I made the call, to the time they fixed the problem - Everyone was PROFESSIONAL! The parts were under warranty, batteries were given to me free of charge for my remotes, everything was reprogrammed, and they lubed my garage door parts. All I paid for was 1 hour of labor, a little lube, and sales tax.Just a little over $100.00. Much cheaper than the competition would have been!AND --- It was done all before NOON on the same day I called! I dont think I will ever forget their name again ! ! THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE!

After struggling with our wooden double garage door and 20 plus year old opener for four years, a spring broke, which necessitated a call to Overhead Door of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City. From the initial phone call to installation, all of the staff we encountered, from the sales manager to the sales rep to the service tech to the installer were professional, helpful and wonderful. We assessed the costs to repair/fix versus a new install of a door and opener. Today we have a more energy efficient door with a super quiet opener - which is tremendous! Id highly recommend this company for any or all of your garage door needs!

I have an Overhead Door installed in new construction in 2008. I noticed my keyless entry pad was burning through batteries, not even keeping it charged for 3 days. I called and spoke to someone and they said to send in the old keypad and they would repair or replace the keypad. Obviously the keypad being 10 years old, I very much expected to be charged for the new equipment. Much to my surprise, I received a new keyless entry pad in the mail. The packing slip said, Mail to customer, No charge per BS/LN Now I cant be certain, but I cant imagine that the entry pad has a 10 year plus warranty! That is real customer service. I cant thank you enough for replacing this at no charge. I wish your full names were on the packing slip, but thank you very much BS and LN.

On March 12 the springs on my door broke trapping my car inside with my wife having a surgery I needed to be able to get out of the garage for her appointments. Overhead door of Iowa City was at my home in less than an hour repairing and servicing my door. I am very please with the service and especially the quick response to my situation.
