Thriving game store thats survived covid. Always have a great time going there to buy miniatures and paint that probably wont get used (if you know you know lol). Today I purchased the dice forge expansion rebellion and am excited to play it. Half the fun is getting to talk to everyone there while Im checking out. If your I need of anything tabletop, give them a visit!

Can’t really say enough good stuff about these guys, really. The owner will order you anything that he doesn’t have in stock. I’m a 40k guy and he’s found and ordered several kits I needed for my army. When P3 paints took a dive I was lost…my army’s main color is Exile Blue. I went in looking for a pot one day and of course he told me the news…no more P3.Then he told me he’d JUST opened a pot and I was welcome to have it. I couldn’t believe it! How awesome is that!? Just gave it to me! That pot kept me going til I found a cashe elsewhere and bought it out.Calls my phone and let’s me know when my items are in and doesn’t throw a fit if I forgot them or money is tight.Selection is good, employees are knowledgeable and more than willing to help. It’s just a great place to go no matter what kinda gamer you are. I refuse to order kits online, or anything else for that matter, and instead make sure I shop local as keeping the doors on places like this open should be priority for everyone in the gaming community.Tempest is a great place to start gaming or for us die hards looking for hard to find items. Or, to just play a game with friends. Highly recommend this spot for Warhammer and MtG players.

Friendly atmosphere with staff who will get to know you the more you visit, and a wide selection of hobbies and on the off chance they dont have what you want theyll order it for you and notify you when its there. Overall a great place 👍

Beyond the usual nerd stuff you would expect, they also have a ton of games that anyone would enjoy. I was in there for almost two hours just looking at everything they have. I happened to be there during a game night and it was nice to see people having fun playing DnD with their friends. Great place!

Was my first visit and everyone was super friendly and helpful! They have a very large selection of Warhammer products. It also looked like they were well stocked with other gaming accessories at a fair price. I will return!

If youre a tabletop gamer, this is a pretty solid place to go to. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and show a passion for the many games, figures, cards, and other stuff present. I went in on a Friday and it was packed with gamers setting up tables. My roommate and myself were waiting for some pizza and chatted someone there while purchasing some new dice before a dnd session and they had some incredible insights that helped our game run much smoother. If youre a gamer and you have some time and cash to spend, this is the place to do it; theyre amazing.

They had a great selection of games and cards. I loved the figurines they had. Definitely will go back for more board games.

The owner rich is knowledgeable about the products, games and such that he is carrying. Special orders come in at reasonable times for special orders. With the selection of games though I am hard pressed to find a game that they dont carry. Frequent gaming events in the afternoons and weekend round out the store and what you would look for in a local game store. I would recommend this store even for a quick look through.

I love this local game shop. They have a wide selection of board games, pen and paper RPGs, and table top miniature games (Privateer Press and Games Workshop). There is plenty of space to play any game, and there are frequently people working on painting /assembling models. The staff is very helpful but unobtrusive and the clientele are pleasant.I try to stop by every time Im in town.

This is a great community shop run by folks that appreciate the gaming hobby. They have rare games in stock that they could easily sell online for inflated prices but choose to sell them to the local community instead. Im glad a store like this is still around, especially with all the counterfeit games being sold online today.

Incredibly helpful and patient staff. I went in with almost no knowledge of playing tabletop RPGs and multiple staff members helped get the supplies AND information I needed to get started on the right foot. Fair prices and great environment. You can come here for any board game needs, deck building games or any other hobby gaming supplies.

Friendly local game store with a great selection of board games as well as all of your rpg needs. They host various game nights throughout the week. Online retailers might be lower priced but its worth the minimally higher price to support a local business with knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I have never had a bad experience here. I am always welcomed when I arrive and the support from the owner is excellent. I have shopped other places in CR and Iowa City and Coralville but none have offered the selection or atmosphere of Tempest. The knowledge and selection keep me coming back.
