Carpenters is awesome. A friend of mine has taken his vehicle to Carpenters on a couple of occasions and had great results. I took my truck to Benji Carpenter (owner) since I believed him to be honest and capable (based on stopping in when dropping off my friend who got his car worked on there). I had the timing belt replaced along with the water pump and drive belts. Benji went ahead and checked over the rest of the truck, including brakes and transmission. Even lubed the u-joints. I definitely trust his shop do do all the work needed on my family vehicles. Pricing is very reasonable. Give him a shot, you wont be disappointed.

Honest beyond belief !He will check codes when he is not swamped with cars ahead of your issue, but folks, that time and years of training and experience costs his shop money while he stops to be polite and try to help you out! If you want free codes read, go to ADVANCE.... simple stuff they can sell you something you might or might not need.To the Lady who balked @ $50 diagnosis fee, You get what you pay for! He saved us $4,500 transmission ADVANCE said we needed with their FREE code read. It was only 1 sensor @ $200... so, folks, read ALL reviews first !Some well meaning folks just dont understand.

For anyone needing auto service in the Columbia/Cayce area, I cannot stress enough how good and honest Benji, at Carpenters Auto Repair treated me. My van broke down and even the tow truck driver said that I was taking it to the most honest guy around. Benji was honest about it not being worth it to fix it and did not charge me for the diagnosis. When my boyfriend went there to pick up my van, he too had the same impression. Honest, Good, People. Rare these days, so this was refreshing.

Best place hands down for car repairs

One of my cars was having some issues with the front brakes so I stopped by one of the national auto shop chains. They basically told me that all of the brakes were shot with major issues, leaky drums etc, and gave me a quote for $800 to fix it all. I thought that seemed steep, so I brought it over to Carpenters because my brother told me good things about them. Bottom line, Benji and his boys got me out of there for about 1/4 of what the national chain quoted me and confirmed as I suspected that much of the work the original shop wanted to do was unnecessary. Carpenters Auto Repair has been very accommodating. I called Benji at 8 am to have my battery installed and the installation was completed within 15 minutes of arriving at his shop. I definitely plan to use Carpenter Auto Repair for any future repairs.

Ive recently moved to S.C leaving the only person I trusted with my truck so when I called around to find someone else to fill the role I found Benji from Carpenters very professional and patient. A week later when I finally scheduled work to be done Benji took these qualities to another level and continued throughout the week. I now have a new person I trust with my truck and will recommend Carpenters to who ever will listen.

Benji and his crew are the best - they are friendly, honest, and very reasonably priced. Nobody talks down to you or tries to upsell you on services you dont need. If they cant do something that you need done, they can refer you to a shop that is just as honest and reliable as them.

Put the cheapest tires he could find on the front didnt bother matching the rest of the tires and over filled my oil

I have been taking my vehicles to Benji since he first opened his shop.Benji is very honest. I really love that as I am a woman and I dont know anything about a vehicle!!! He has serviced,repaired, etc. not only my vehicles but friends and familys. benji is a good honest family man!

Benji ( the owner) was extremely helpful! We were traveling to Florida from North Carolina, stoppedI to get gas, turned off the truck and it wouldnt start! We googled auto repair shops this repair shop came up with high reviews. Benji is fair, honest, and very professional! We understand and have experienced the reason for such high reviews! We feel very thankful and fortunate to have come acrossed his repair shop. No one likes to have auto troubles, oftentimes they can unfortunately turn out to be quite expensive! We feel very fortunate not to have had that happen. If there is ever an opportunity to take advantage of travelers this is it. If we lived in the area we would be using Benji for any of our auto repairs. I would highly recommend his shop.

Went in before the holidays to ask if he could just check my car to make sure it will run ok to go to FL and back once or twice and he told me he would charge me like $50 to do it. Left and went to a different mechanic that checked it for me for free..

Out of town travelers look no further. These guys are honest. I cant say enough good things about them.I was traveling back to North Carolina when I had problems.Benji gave me some great advice. My transmission went out and it was under warranty back in NC. They checked out the problem and agreed it would be better to have the work done back home where it was under warranty.Benji helped me figure out the cheapest way to get it home, helped me load the car on an auto hauler, and didnt charge me anything. I cant thank him enough. Nice to see there are still some good people in the world.
