Old time atmosphere with the knowledge and experience for building or putting back together anything that breaks down. Second to none with anything grown in the garden and Dale will walk anyone who asks through growing a garden from scratch.
Been coming here for supplies 40 years. Besides the family history of good customer service. Walking around inside takes me back intime. Dont change a thing keep it real.
Mr. Carpenter helped us out in a pinch today with some cotter pins for a rolling steel door we are repairing. Thank you sir!
Stocked up on seeds for my vegetable garden. I appreciated that I could buy just what I needed. Much more affordable then buying pre-made seed packets. The seeds are also from a local seed company! Bonus: I learned a lot about gardening practices for each variety. This is now my go-to place to buy vegetable seeds.
Ive found my second home! Its an old timey country hardware store, with just about every single thing you might want.
Great atmosphere and customer service.
My Grandad took me there often when I was little. That was in the early 70s. I can still smell it. Miss the old days.
Here in the Triangle, where very few things have remained the same as they were when I was a kid 70+ years ago, 125 year old Carpenter Farm Supply is an exception. Dale Carpenter, the fourth generation of the Carpenter family to own and operate the store, along with his son Dale Jr, run the store in much the same way as it was run in the 1940s when I went there with my granddad to buy farm supplies from Dale’s granddad. They are friendly and knowledgeable, and if they don’t have what you need they can usually tell you where to find it.And even if you don’t really need anything, just going in there is an experience, like going back in time to pre-RTP.
Its like being a kid again, growing up around old hardware stores like this. Shop local when you can.
Interesting store and nice folks. Not sure what I was expecting but the time spent musing over the blends of basic hardware and vintage was memorable. Stop in, say hello, buy some this or that, spend a little money and remember this experience the next time you find yourself in Walmart self check hell.
Friendly staff. Made my keys quickly and, as I would later discover, quite accurately, even though it was a copy of a copy.
Family run farm... Worth both stopping in and supporting locals and a great photo location for heritage
Friendly folks and a good amount of high-quality products available at great prices.
We were looking for an odd item that they didnt carry. It is a neat old store/old post office
Good prices on horse feed!!
One of the very few surviving OLD TIME COUNTRY supply stores. Livestock feed, hay, straw, seeds, plants, tools, supplies. All with great service.
Best honey in the area. They have everything your grandfather used. Love this store
I love stopping at this little Hardware/ Nursery they are so friendly and knowledgeable about when to plant vegetables and herbs its better to stop in there than to go to Walmart or are Lowes because they give you good information.
Best Farm Supply Place Ever. Been there forever and have a lot good farming advice if needed. Customer service is excellent. Ive been going here for about 5 years now and my grabdpa has been going here for probabaly 50 years or more. Always have what you need and if they dont they can get it. Prices are great as well. The environment is one of the best things though. When you walk in its got an old timey vibe and alway have plenty of peanuts and Pepsi/Coca-Cola. They also load everything for you if your getting something heavy such as bags of fertilizer. Highly Recommended!!
Friendly folks who are always ready to help you find what you need, even if they dont have it. (which is a rare occasion!)
Unique experience. This place is a treasure.
Great place go visit wonderful people!!
Almost like an museum. Over 100 year old store. Take your kids out there to show how farmers shopped for their needs a century ago.
Very Helpfull staff, with lots of knowledge
Very friendly and helpful on the phone
I needed lag bolts and they had them. In and out in 2 minutes. This place is a gem!
Just have to shop here....
Friendly and helpful staff
To me going there is traveling in time to a time of years gone by.
