Coming from Chicago to visit, we looked around for quality coffee shops and found this little gem.Man o man were the lattes were delicious. My wife tried the Spanish latte and could not stop complimenting the quality of the product. We wished we found this place earlier and definitely will be stopping in before we leave.
Alright, for context, Im a local and I come here to study and do work very often. Most of your experience pretty much depends on whos working that day. If its the girl, chances are youll probably find the customer service to be rude, the coffee not as great as other times, and pretty bad music selection. But it is worth noting that even this type of experience isnt all that bad. Personally, shes never been rude to me but I have seen her be a little off-putting to most other customers. I mean sure she isnt all that friendly but at the end of the day, she is just doing her job and it can sporadically get really busy here. As for the music taste... it is okay to like and play whatever music you like, but if youre reading this, it is not too late to lower it a bit. The general productive vibe of the place will thank you.On the other hand, if the guy is working, youll find the exact opposite experience--very kind and attentive customer service, great coffee, and good music taste. There arent really any other coffeeshops in Carson so thats part of what makes this one so great, its the only one and it is very pretty.
Interior decor was very nice. Latte was good, but pour over was served scalding hot. Barista was not attentive at all.
Cool and hip coffee shop with all types of regular, cold brew, and speciality coffees. environment is a place where youd want to be for awhile and the parking seems to be good as well. employees are nice and helpful. prices are even a bit more than a special coffee shop and thats why Im giving it a 4 instead of a 5.
Nice space with a more secluded reading room in the back. Their flat white was very nice. And the staff are always very helpful.
We visited on a Sunday at 11:30 am. We were attracted by the front door design and the interior environment. Very nice setting. My iced Americano was good; the jasmine tea was weak. The two stars is for the Barrista. She made it clear that she hates life and and was not interested in clients (wifes quote)
If you love coffee this is the place to be. They have so many different kind of drinks that I cant even keep count. Very friendly staff and they know how to treat clients well.
Great location and a cozy back area to read and work. Oh yeah, the coffees pretty good too.
We used to love this place so super disappointed when we headed here hoping for our pre pandemic experience... wasnt busy at all. Disappointed that they are no longer serving food. We were looking forward to the avocado toast! No bakery items either. Girl working was not nice at all and even though we were only ones in place she acted too busy to acknowledge us. Im not sure this place will be around much longer. We walked away with just our coffee and headed elsewhere to get food. I miss the old GreenDoor. 😪
The girl working wasn’t friendly. She saw us waiting for coffee on the wrong side of coffee bar and ignored us. The place wasn’t busy so our coffee was just sitting there while we waited on the other side of coffee bar. I asked for room, there was no room. Asked for 4 shots and it was very thin probably only two shots. Nothing but bad vibes from this place. Unfortunate cause we drove here from the airport to get some intelligencia to start our trip to la.
This place is a solid neighborhood staple and everyone who works there is extremely nice, no idea how other reviews can say they are rude, thats absolutely wrong. Ive been coming here for years now and have had nothing but delicious coffee and breakfest from some of the nicest people youd ever hope to meet. They work really hard here and show a lot of appreciation when customers come in, I cant go anywhere else, impossible.
I love the coffee here thats why I always come back! As I see the comments some say its overpriced. If I really like a place money isnt the issue. But the only reason this place isnt getting 5 stars, because the staff is rude, especially the girl in the morning. Horrible customer service! Dont think Im writing this because Ive had a bad experience once, its been a couple times and to different people Ive recommended there. I think customers would return if there was friendlier service. Blessings
Horrible place, first of all being a Carson local I thought this place would be nice. No, I would never come here again. The girl was rude, yelled that I took someone else’s coffee when I did not. Mind you I paid for a vanilla latte and she gave me a iced latte. I never said iced. I took it and just left. Rude employees, the manager should look into this
They were neither kind nor courteous my first and only visit. definitely not a neighborhood coffee shop, unprofessional is how I would describe it
Pretentious and rude staff coupled with overpriced food. Really overshadows the coffee which is the only bright spot. Save the headache and drive to Steelhead in Long Beach. Theyre friendlier, they have better cold brew, and larger cups for coffee.
Very rude staff, had come in and the barista who was a petite asian female come up with both of her airpods in and gave an annoyed glare when I walked in. I asked something about the menu and she gave a really bad attitude so I left without buying anything. all the reviews about the staff being rude is true.
Coffee is good but its overpriced. I could be wrong and theyre priced fairly. Maybe they do some special stuff or maybe their beans are special, I dont know. I just dont think its worth $7 for a latte with oat milk when other places I go to and get the same drink are $5-6. Yeah, Im complaining about a dollar difference, but that dollar difference matters when those other places are better and still cheaper. Anyway, I only come here if Im in the area and Im desperate for a latte.
Venue - Very nice, open, clean and chill place to come relax or work and enjoy coffee.Parking - some street parking in front and additional in the rear.Pricing - Avg prices.Coffee - Good stuff avg taste and good pastries available.Service - Friendly staff and willing to help if anything needed.Overall great experience and would be back.
Great coffee and breakfast selection. Definitely on the pricey side though.I came here to work, around 11am on a weekday. There was a ton of seating available and outlets too! I was able to grab a whole table to myself for most of the day.Ordered the Breakfast Toast - fried egg, avocado, toast. It was good but again, overpriced. Had banana bread later and that was 100% warmed up mmmParking is super easy in the lot. It says 2 hour max but I had no issues parking for 4-5 hours at least.
Had the raspberry mint cold brew. Cashier wasnt very helpful. Brew was strong and flavorful, forgot to add cream or sugar so probably wasnt as good as it could have been. Location is absolutely beautiful. Lots of fun knick knacks and mugs. Visited on 4th July
Think we nearly had 19 courses in total, including homemade bread which in my personal opinion was more than enough;)
This is one of the best coffee shops in the area. You wont be disappointed. Great atmosphere too. The wife and I have had many a date night here.
Pros: staff is super friendly, music is good, and coffee is goodCon; design isnt all the best, and the coffee is extremely overpriced
Customer service is awesome. 5 star customer serviceIt’s cute inside. But feels more like hype.prices are expensive for coffee that’s just ok.... it taste like peanuts. 🤷🏼♀️ 6.50 for about 16 oz mocha.... probably won’t come back but was a nice place to try out. they have some really delicious looking pastries inside.Really cute presentation though on the drink 👍🏻✨
Its SO smooth and theres no bitter taste that I sadly find at many other coffee spots. I dont even have to add any type of sweetener because its perfectly palatable as is.
For some reason I felt that the level is a bit below than in intelligentsiaMore specifically, Gibraltar coffee was bad, but pastry and food is more or less good
This was my first time there. The staff is very polite and they were very helpful. Oh and the food and drinks, delicious. Definitely coming back!
The coffee is consistently delicious with multiple flavor notes not found in your average over roasted coffee shop. The food is also worth checking out, awesome sandwiches! And with a very relaxed atmosphere and a truly knowledgeable and friendly staff, this is a model coffee shop!
Brightly lit, open space with ample seating. Upscale coffee and espresso drinks, with all the trappings one expects from an urban, successful cafe these days (including a bright green La marzocco espresso machine). Pastries include vegan and gluten free choices. Two choices of almond milk (unsweetened and regular)! When crowded, the echos off the concrete and metal all around produce quite a din. Friendly staff. Easy parking around the corner, free lot.
This is a great local coffee shop. The coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is also great. Stopped in for a quick cup of drip coffee to start the day. I wish I had a couple hours to sit and enjoy the morning.
Fantastic coffee shop! Great look and feel. The baristas are very knowledgeable of coffee and brewing methods, their suggestions are informative. The he menu is pretty interesting. Lots of flavorful items. Everything I have ordered here has been very delicious. The whole place is very clean, including the restrooms.I love the atmosphere here. The seating is spacious, although a little lack in comfy. But it is a nice place to plop your laptop and get some work done. The music played is tasteful and not too loud. The large windows to the street are pleasant to view. This is a very classic cafe. They have a pretty extensive display of for sale items. You can expand your brew methods with what they have in stock and be able to enjoy some awesome made at home coffee.
Good but really pricey. 6 bucks for latte before tip. People working in a modern coffee shop
The vibe indoor is definitely stylish with shiny metals. There is a sign out by the Green door that says coffee so not too hard to miss.Parking is free(no ticket)inside the structure which youll find if you just drive by the Green door block. My iced cold brew was $5.50 after tax (free splash of oatmilk)
Great coffee shop. I have been driving by it for awhile now and finally checked it out. It is beautiful inside although when I went in there was unfortunately no available seating. However, a lot of people were working I. There so it appears to be a go to place for getting some work done. I had the cold brew and it was probably one of the best cold brews I have had in awhile. I also had one of their chocolate croissants and it was delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out.
Great independent coffeeshop. Quirky fun merchandise. Intelligentsia coffee but they make things their own way. Nice place to hang out and do work.
So nice inside, earthy while modern. Love the water they used in the coffee and tea. Just need less hating from the girl making the coffee. Water has memory. So please be responsible for your energy.
Saw good reviews and decided to give it a try. The decoration is amazing, and definitely a place where it’s nice to hang out. However, the coffee wasn’t that great for me. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and there was little to no taste of espresso shot. I was disappointed since I was looking forward to trying this hip place.
It’s always a nice experience to come here and have a coffee, latte. The sandwiches are so delicious and the environment is awesome.
Yes, yes, yes and YES! My kind of coffeeshop. Customers are the hip and young crowd. Cozy interiors very chill. Saw several students studying. The first time we went, the place had no free tables so we sat outside where it was kinda cold (for me but not for locals). Great coffee! Delectable ice cream. But pricey of course. The second time we visited, it was less full so we were able to get a table next to the green door 😂.Id return to this cafe in a heartbeat with a good book. Its the kind of place where you could sit in a quiet corner and read all afternoon.
Great place for anything. Manager Jenny is very helpful. Great vibe....
I had a cold brew with almond milk. The coffee was regular I definitely did not think it was worth $7. Price is not an issue to me especially when it comes down to coffee. Some of you will agree or disagree but an iced coffee FROM McDonalds wouldve satisfied my tastebuds better! The space is beautifully decorated and it has a lot of awesome paintings all around the shop. The shop is in a weird location aswell as the parking.
Love this place for the atmosphere, coffee and food. Good place to read and work —but— the only thing that is spotty is the wifi. I’d go there much more often if the wifi was stronger and consistent. Free parking available in the structure in back of GREENDOOR, shared with the residents who live upstairs of the storefronts.
Amazing place!! So glad I found this spot. Coffee is outstanding. Decor is exciting.
Delicious food, snacks and coffee and drinks. Friendly environment.
Nice selection of great tasting drinks, without being overly priced or complicated. The is always friendly. Free WiFi, mellow music, and seating inside and out. Very popular with near by college students. So, it can get full quickly.
I loved the atmosphere. Great service with calming feel to it. Great for meeting friends.
I love this place! They have such amazing food and drinks. I asked the barista for a recommendation and I ended up getting a really fun matcha drink. They have a cute outdoor area as well. A really great place to sit and get some work done. Ive had two of their toasts, the avocado and hummus, they were both amazing!
Intelligentsia ☕ good food --What else do you need?
Probably the best coffee I can find in the South Bay area. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a good staff. Definitely worth checking out.
Expensive but had a very cool atmosphere. Great for homework or a quick stop with friends or family!
These guys were very accommodating and knowledgeable. They had a minor technical error that delay my purchase no more than a few minutes with no one else in line and they still felt the need to provide me a complimentary drink. Green Door certainly goes out of the way to ensure great customer experience.
Spanish latte was amazing, the ambiance was nice and the staff was very friendly. Definitely coming back.
Beautiful look. Great staff. I’ve only tried their espresso and I didn’t care for it. Very bitter even this a dark roast. I couldn’t stay long... the music was not my taste. Fast anxious hip hop and RnB. Not a relaxing environment. No wonder most of the folks studying have ear buds in. I think a change in music would bring it up to 4 stars. Music/sound is so important. Should match the venue. I felt like I was in a club.
Nice place. I got an americano and a lavender iced drink of some kind. Very tasty. I was on the run but hope to sit and take in the ambiance next time. Super clean and friendly place!
Great coffee and pastries. Love the GD which is 4 shots of espresso shaken with ice, milk and a scoop of ice cream. Go with pistachio to pick up the slight nuttiness of the coffee in the beginning of the sip. The affogato is also wonderful but who doesnt like espresso and vanilla ice cream - hot and cold, sweet and bitter! The star of all of this is the espresso. One of the few places where I can order a latte and not have to add sugar because every sip has a slight sweetness at the end. Even though this location may be out of the way I make it a point to come this way when I have a craving for a thoughtfully well made espresso related drinks. Oh! And the pastries are pretty darn good, too!
Fantastic espresso in a modern, stylish environment. So nice to have a cool coffee house near home. Loved the chocolate hazelnut Danish too!
It’s really a Nice vibe and ambiance however I’ve visited the shop in West Hollywood as well as Carson and sad to say they both have gnats and flies All over their pastries smh, I thought I was in the movie “Friday After Next” at Holy Moly Donuts haha. If they can get their pest under control this would be a cool spot but as of now... It’s a Strong No!
Nice ambiance but coffee and muffin was average to good.
Very cool industrial rustic vibe happening here. Sat at the bar and watched them make my matcha latte and was not disappointed! They make all of their syrups there and while enjoying your espresso or tea you must try the huckleberry donut with matching donut hole on top by Cake Monkey! Not as affordable as your typical coffee joint but if you are a bit of a coffee snob or just looking for a step up in your brew then this is a must treat for you.
Unique! Big plus, its not Starbucks coffee and its so good. Cafe space is hip, with an industrial sheek very well done. Certainly the best coffee shop anywhere in the area.
This place is super cool. Yummy coffee and a great place to hang out and get work done. Fun vibe.
Cute atmosphere and delicious food. Chicken pesto sandwich is the best.
Acid coffee. Starbucks please! I feel like the environment they try to create should match their service. Lets just say when you sit up at their coffee bar, I have been made to get up and collect my drink and pastry once name is shouted. I make this a point because its not like a ton of customers have ordered. On a high note, pecan pie is a must!
Great little coffee house. The staff is friendly and helpful. In fact, if youre ever in the area you should stop on by. I highly recommend it.
Absolutely love the aesthetic.. rustic with a POP of green. Only thing is 8 dollars for a Green tea Lemonade with a hint of mint ??!!! I think the heck not lol.. check yourself Greendoor !!
