Hello publicMyself and my parents lost our homes on the 17th of nov 2020 to a fire that liberty utility company started in 80 mph winds and almost within 2 minutes cost me my life. We went to clayton and priced a home, made an appointment to purchase a week later mike at clayton quoted us 17 thousand dollars more a week later for the same home cause he knew he could try a take advantage of our situation guess what, we didnt fall for that . So we found another place that treated us like human beings and were on our way but had had we stuck with clayton the results would morally and financially catastrophic. Thats our experience with mike, the older gentleman at clayton homes in carson city on hwy 50 nevada
Honestly I would give this place negative stars if I could. The customer service is extremely poor probably the worst I have had to ever deal with....even at corporate level. The 1year repair work will never be done and if they attempt to it will look like it was done by an 8 year old. Absolutely the worst experience ever. I have a 10 page complaint letter that I sent to them if any one wants to read it i will gladly send them a copy. Please for the love of God do not buy a house from these people !!!!!!! I am currently in the process of trying to find an attorney to go after them .........maybe if there are enough people with proof and legitimate complaints we could go class action?!?!? We tried getting the 1 year warranty work started at about the 11 month mark and 2 and a half years later it has yet to be completed. Terrible company who doesnt stand by thier work . Apparently you wont get what you pay for. Especially the warranty work. The stud spacing in the house ranges anywhere from 16-26 inches apart!!!! Im pretty sure that it is not built to code by anyones standars.........just a way for them to cut costs and corners!!!
Just walked in they had about 15 mins left and had a few questions to ask, but whom ever was there was very rude saying they were closing up. That’s very unprofessional, I didn’t stay inside long enough to get his name, but very rude older white guy. Wanted to talk about making a purchase as well a few other things.
The best place for quality manufactured homes. Mike & his team do a great job!
Gets a 1 only because there is no 0. They will lie to your face and don’t care when they get caught. They have no morals or ethics and will do anything they have to to screw you out of the land. We had to make several trips to there office because they wouldn’t return calls.
This has been a nightmare. Our disabled daughter was one of four tribal members who were able to get a home through a HUD grant. Clayton homes has made her and all involved feel like second class citizens. The homes were to be finished by June 1st.We finally took occupancy mid October because Clayton Homes had not been back in more than two months and did not appear they would finish. We just got excuses and they blamed issues on subcontractors.Three significant items left undone: no thermostat, no working chimney nor is the chimney pipe in the house, sealed combustion hot water heater with no venting which makes it unusable. All three issues leave this house unlivable. So sad we had to take possession without these things resolved. The project manager kept making it our issue and our problem. She has lists and had not done anything to rectify except ask the tribe for our phone number. She needed to get the repairs made.I’m not including the three inch gap from wheelchair ramp to the ground, the top soil pile that was never spread due to equipment failure, the missing house numbers, the dryer hook up that was electric although we specified gas.So frustrated and disappointed. Please think twice before using Clayton homes for a project or your next new home.
Absolutely the worst experience in the world! Not only did we end up spending way more money than we were told we were going to spend but we were also with out a house for six months, when we were told it should only take at most two months. Anytime we asked what was happening they would lie to us and say things are moving along, when they didn’t even have permits to start work. It doesn’t seem like they know how to do their jobs very well because I was able to go to the city and get more details on why this project was hung up. Then to top it all off when we start to have issues with there poor attention to details with our roofing starting to leak they tell me that they can’t have anybody out to look at it for at least two weeks.
I have owned homes fore most of my adult life and have never had an experience like the one I have had with Clayton homes. From the start they told me since I already owned the property and was buying a model lot home, that it would only take two to three months until I was living in it. It took over six months. I called and called and when I could get a response, they would make promises and then not keep them. When I would call them on it, they would say we have too much work and the Contractors cant keep up. They told me they were working on 26 home instillations at the same time as mine. So when I complained enough, they would do some work to get me off their back, then I would not hear from they for weeks.Once I moved into the home, there were things that needed to be fixed. so I had to call and call trying to get them to come out. When they did come out they would fix some things and tell me they would need to send someone else out to fix the others or that they needed to order something. Then I would not hear from them for weeks. A lot of the things still need to be fixed. I saw some hope of getting things fixed when the Clayton home company contacted me after 6 months of me living in the home. They wanted me to rate the experience. I told them my concerns and they said they would address them. They put me in contact with one of the corporate people to get things fixed.I just received an email from that person to inform me that would not fix my leaking door because in my area I probably need a storm door. another issue I had was that the counter tops were bubbling up Corporate informed me that was normal in the type of sink and counter tops I have. unbelievable.if I could rate them less than a 1 star I would
Unexpected surprise. Some are overpriced compared to stick built homes. However they have some good deals. The floor plans are smart.
A lot of their model homes are around the same square footage We are looking for a much larger home
Had a great experience here. The salesman was very helpful with many models on display.
Friendly no pressure sales. Homes really do sale themselves
Nice concept but they dont update their pricing and staff is rude. Doesnt seem like most can buy anything there.
Absolutely not!!!!!! Once we gave them the $500 dollars to get started we never heard from them again, never heard from the builders either, for 3 months. I was deployed and it seems they ignored my wifes phone calls. Once I returned home I drove to there place and spoke to them, they appologized and tried to make things write. a few more weeks went by with playing phone tag and never being able to actually speak to someone in person, we abandoned the idea of building with clayton because most of the property had been bought up and only junk lots were available, so we wanted the money back but were told it was a non refundable deposit for the INCOVENIENCE of clayton homes to build a file!!!!!! So it cost us $500 dollars to learn a valuble lesson from the people and there tactics. Please use extreme caution with Clayton homes and there Sales department!
Great prices, great service awesome contractors that they have.
Beware of this company. My grandkids are homeless and have been waiting over six months for the homes to be completed. We are a Very frustrated family. You hardly ever see anyone working on them maybe once a month someone will show up for it a few hours. Bad and unethical business.
Very helpful people here.
Had the worst experience ever with Clayton homes. Bought a home from them. They talked us into getting the model home so we could move in the end of August and didnt get to move in till the end of November. Our house is falling apart and because it was the model home they say it is as is they will not fix it even though we paid full price for the home. For the wait they said they would pay for our gas hook up it has been almost two months and I still havent got the check back. I payed for the gas. Our walk thru took four weeks to do and he didnt even fix everything said they would come back I have not heard nothing from them. Ultimately, very bad company with very poor work ethic and unprofessionalism. What a dissapointing and frustrating experience buying our home.
Helpfully looking for prices on a manufactured home
The best in low cost well built modular homes.
Wow, I was looking to buy a home, but these guys seem like scam artists. I will look elsewhere!
Judged me price is to high he wants to keep them not sale them
They answered all of our questions and they did not pressure us into buying a home. The houses are beautiful by the way.
Had a wide variety of homes to look at.
Nice smaller trailer with garage
Go have a look at The Tahoe manufactured home... I was amazed at this Trailer I would live in that thing in a heart beat.
One word. Horrible!
