Love this store; fresh tortillas, fresh meats, the best selection Ive seen since Pasco, WA. What really gives the 5*......the service. ALL the associates were friendly, knowledgeable, and walked me to items I had in question versus just telling me the location. Best market in Carlsbad!

Great grocery store, everything is really neat and clean. Love their deli section, not to mention the hot food. Sushi on the other hand is just okay, wouldnt really recommend. It was my first time trying it out here.

La Tiendas may lack as far as a lot of selections in their produce & grocery dept.s. However, they more than make up for it with their customer service. Im somewhat disabled thats why I love shopping this grocery store. At check-out its a breeze as they do all the work. Sometimes theyll ask but generally they simply just take my stuff to my vehicle. Ahh.. I love that of customer service.

Better stocked than Walmart. Better selection of groceries, too. Example: bean sprouts. None at other grocery stores.

Great service. Beats waiting in line to get into Walmart. They have pretzels so I can make my holiday treats.

Anthony, the cashier (he had curly hair), was very nice and personable. He made very nice conversation with my mom and I and made us laugh. Wasnt awkward but rather a delight to be around.

Its clean but the produce and vegetables arent very fresh. Prices are somewhat different than wallyworld. Beer & liquor are more expensive than other places.

It’s been my favorite store for 30 years

La Tienda is sometimes the last on the list of go-to shopping centers in Carlsbad. But it has its pluses. Nobody has more varieties of spices or Mexican inspired beverages. The bakery is excellent. Most store made cakes are pretty but La Tiendas are delicious as well. Glad the store is part of Carlsbad.

Very well stocked grocery store! I usually come here for the bargains on meat and fresh vegetables.

Always have fresh tortillas ready first thing in the morn.

I love the la tienda thriftway chain and I think this store probably is highly underrated they offer a lot of really interesting products and their prices literally kill The workers always seem friendly and nice and checking the local paper to see which one special will help you really stretch that dollar savings.

La tienda pharmacy is the best service pharmacy in town! And the grocery store is stocked and the checkout service is fast!

Nice mid size market which in never that crowded. Deli has some plates to go and there are burritos for the grab and go crowd. Meat and produce department are adequate and fairly price. Large selection of beer and liquor and prices are ok compared to other markets. Most surprising is that there is a sushi bar in this Mexican theme market. Freshly made corn and flour tortillas straight from their press. Lots of parking and no crowds to wade through.

They have a great selection throughout the store with groceries, alcohol, and the deli is great! They make fresh tortillas and have burritos, rellenos, and tacos ready at their back counter. One stop shop.

We went in just for a couple of pre-made sandwiches to take to the caverns. None of the sandwiches on the cooler case were very fresh, and some were more than 10 days old. We went to Walmart instead, where found fresh and delicious sandwiches.

I love their store made chips, but little by little they started to reduce the amount they put on every bag, the bag is supposed to be two lbs and by now it’s way less than that. A total rip off, did they think customer wouldn’t notice their bags are now almost half of what they used to be, and for the same price. I’m all for supporting local stores, but once I realize they try to rip their customers off, they lost my business.

Staff was very friendly even though they were very busy trying to keep food on the shelves. Store was clean but cramped with pallets of replacement food stacked everywhere they could get it. Doing a great job in a bad situation. Congratulations

We get oyr freshly made tortillas there when in the area, used to like their chicken strips but last 2 times we have been there they dont have them..like their freshly made stuff in bakery

I HATE VANILLA CUPCAKE WITH FAKE LIGHT WHIP CREAM! 🤢😷☠ I tasted fake dully vanilla with nothing alike tiniest white rice. Also, last the topper fake light whip cream is so less sugar heavy cream and taste awful nothing less heavy sugar! I wanted real sugar and real homemade perfect cupcake. 😱😡😠

I like this store, but I have issue.. the cashiers need to be a little more friendlier! Customer service very important and everytime I go I always get the same attitude no customer service. Just remember I as a customer and like others we make your pay checks so think about it!!

Both the girls at the bakery and the deli were rude. I would rate the tacos and the girl at the Mexican Bar 5 stars, but the woman working at the deli was so incredibly rude I left in disbelief at the customer service. Its usually not bad there, but she was just so terrible. It was like I was inconveniencing her by having her do her job. I even tried being super polite and making a joke to try and lighten her up. She didnt acknowledge my thank yous. My fiance made a mistake in what he ordered so I jumped in to correct it and, I was then treated like an idiot. Wish she was wearing a name tag so I could have addressed it with La Tienda directly. However the girl at the taco bar was pleasant and so was the rest of the staff in passing. The tacos were good like always. But deli girl ruined my visit. Im sure with this being Carlsbad it will not change, seeing as how youre lucky if you get decent customer service almost anywhere you go in this town.

I went here just for the deli. It was a great deli with a huge selection of food. The food I got was amazing!

I liked this store for their lunch counter. My most recent trip there and ultimately my last left me very unhappy with my overall experience. The lady at the register checking my fiance and I out was very unpleasant. She treated us as if we were stupid for not knowing how their system worked and was ugly towards us while trying to look for her coworker, who was bagging our food, for support. The coworker wasnt as rude and seemed uncomfortable with the push for attitude from her. Her bad day, or whatever the issue was, did not need to become mine.

What I like about La Tienda is everythings always in the same place so you dont have to go looking around to find it, like some stores move things around! I dont feel lost in La Tienda. Really good burritos and tacos at the burrito bar. The store itself stays open later in the evening, but the burrito bar closes at 2:00. Really wish it stayed open later. Tortillas, chips, and taco/tostada shells are made fresh in store. The deli also has real food, not just fried items or sides from a tub like the other two grocery options Carlsbad has. You have to get it early, through. Oilfield workers wipe it out fast--just like they do every where else in town. Only two complaints: 1)You really have to check the expiration dates on stocked items. Im always finding items way past their expiration date, and 2) the parking lot is pretty bad. Small spaces with too many oilfield trucks trying to get as close as they can to the entrance. Also, way too many people flying through the parking lot using it as a shortcut between Canal St and San Jose Blvd.

Awesome food deli.I had a pint of Green Chile stew, fresh pinto beans, a fresh bolillo roll and it was the BOMB!A full service grocer reminiscent of a pros ranch market...BUT BETTER!

I love this store!!! It has a wonderful Hispanic bend to it and has a bakery, deli, pharmacy tortilla factory and meat depart. Prepared hot food counter and a place to dine. Awesome cashiers and you buy New Mexico Wine in the liquor department.

Best place to buy homemade taco shells or birthday cakes

Stopped in to grab some goodies for a picnic. Wife had some Tacos made and I got some Chicken from the Deli area. The food turned out to be terrific and made for a great meal in the wilderness. Great folks working very helpful and friendly

A little pricey on regular groceries, but a decent selection of groceries, great deli that is very cheap, and a good variety of alcohol. Friendly employees that will actually make you smile or laugh. (Possibly part time comedians) or maybe I got lucky!

Add came today in newspaper. Meats on sale.... Leg quarters, sirloin steak etc... Nothing in bins except higher priced items. I went at 0630am to get to this sale and the meat person came as I was leaving at 0715am. I am not happy at all!! I love this store, cashiers, manager, and especially deli staff mainly(Melissa), she is wonderful with my 2 year old nice. And my elderly mom. The store is looking great, just supply when you have sales. Thank you.
