Decent drug store, adequate service. Pharmacy is the best part of this business
I don’t necessarily mind the long waiting times, it is COVID-19 era after all. It’s the rude way of helping customers that bothers me every time I go in there, I stop in to shop out of necessity, not because I enjoy going in there. I havent seen the rude a manager in a while so thats the reason why I left the 4 stars for the staff earned it. Not the manager
Initially I almost didn’t visit this location due to the terrible reviews, but I sort of had no choice and so gave it a shot. And I’m glad I did! Everything went very smoothly and I was totally impressed. Even with out of state controlled medication.
Horrible customer service! I think a prerequisite for the job is to be as rude to people at the pharmacy as possible. Lacy is 100% the rudest individual Ive ever talked to. You wait forever for a prescription that is supposed to be ready and is not. Dont even think the window is going to be any faster. You will sit for atleast 15-20 min before they even acknowledge that youre even there. Do yourself a favor and go to CVS,walmart, latienda anywhere but here. Very unprofessional!
I love that Walgreens is always open. The people here are friendly as they are helpful. Ive had some issues with the Pharmacy in the past( long waits). But no one here has ever been rude to me. This is one of the few places in Carlsbad that serves night owls like me. They always have my brands that I like to buy. The photo center is awesome. I give them an overall rating of 4 stars because I still think the pharmacy has room to improve.
Called ahead to verify my prescriptions were ready. Drove down. No one in line in the drive thru. No one in line in the store (could see through the window). Waited 28 minutes for them to come to the window and tell me nothing was ready. Worst pharmacy ever. Worst customer service ever. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Pharmacy staff are the rudest most condescending people Ive ever dealt with and the Pharmacist is not any better. I wouldnt recommend using this pharmacy to anyone. Wanted to give 0 stars but it wouldnt allow me to. Time to look for a new pharmacy!
The pharmacy here is the worst I’ve ever been to. I had to go a full week without medicine because they “didn’t get a call from your doctor’s nurse” even after the THIRD time she had called, which turns out they had it filled already and didn’t bother to put it into the system. Another time they simply forgot to fill my medicine. Honest to god worst pharmacy I’ve ever had to go to
It’s a Walgreens; not much to review. Lines are long sometimes. I stood at the photo desk for awhile before and no one bothered to come over. The cool thing is they let you ship fedex and pick up here. Works for me since I don’t have a address here.
We are traveling through Carlsbad, NM from Michigan and my husband needed one RX refilled. We stopped at the pharmacy on our way into town on Thursday at noon. My husband was told it would take 2-4 hours to fill the prescription so he asked if he could pick it up the next day.Since we were making a trip back to the pharmacy I decided Friday morning to order a refill using the Walgreens app. I indicated I would pick up the RX at noon that day.I usually receive text alerts if there is a problem filling the RX or when the RX is ready for pick up.At 3:00 p.m. I had not heard from the pharmacy. So I used the app to check the status of my order. It said “Incomplete” and to contact the pharmacy.I called the pharmacy and was put directly on hold. The recording said there was one person ahead of me. After being on hold for 15 minutes the call abruptly dropped. We decided to go to the pharmacy. As soon as I walked in I asked to see the manager. He listened to my plight then walked me back to the pharmacy. The pharmacy tech told us since the RX was for a Class 2 controlled substance the pharmacist would have to contact the home pharmacy and receive a release to dispense the drug. Apparently this particular pharmacist thought this was too much trouble and just put both refill requests in the ‘I’ll deal with this later’ file. Once he was told by the store manager to follow through with what was necessary to fill the RXs we were told it would take 45 minutes to an hour to have them ready. My husband’s was ready in an hour and a half and mine took 2 hours. When we went back to the store to pick them up there were five cars in the drive through, so I went inside where I was sixth in line at the pharmacy counter! While I waited in line the pharmacist looked at the clock then left the pharmacy. As I was leaving the store he was returning to the pharmacy with a Red Bull! I’m not sure pharmacists should be drinking Red Bull while they are dispensing medication!I would avoid this pharmacy at all costs especially if you are from out of state.
Need help desperately, I go to pick up medicine I cant expect to wait in line for at least 1 hr with 5 people in front of me. Never have medicine in stock and always have to wait 6 or 7 hours before the prescriptions get filled.
Very poor service and rude i ordered pictures and they said they were not ready but my notification from them said it was and a employee told me it doesnt matter what it says because they get to them when they want. You would think i company of this size would try to correct the these problems but the do not care .
The staff was very nice, helpful and patient with me.
The staff are very friendly and always wait on customer in timely fashion. Always let you know ahead of time that meds are ready. I am very satisfied.
Revised... New system and automated alerts this place has come along in the last 2 years. Credit where credit is due. OLD review... avoid like the plague, 2nd time I have had to wait more than 2 days for medication. Your health is important to you find help elsewhere.
I received very poor customer service from the pharmacy manager. If I can give a score of zero I would.I did not receive the correct medication and I tried to return it when I went through drive through. They refused to take it back even when I said it was not the right medication. They told me that was what my doctor had prescribed, a generic one but I called my MD and got a copy of the prescription and it says no substitution. Meaning, the pharmacist probably broke the law when they gave me the incorrect medication. If they did not carry the brand they should have told me instead of having to pay for something that ended up making me sick. I took the medication thinking jt was okay but I got really sick. I called in and was told I was wrong when I had spoken with my doctor to confirm. Not only that they said they do not sell that brand name and do not carry it. That would have been useful before I paid. The other pharmacy I went to told me they did not have it and had to order it. The pharmacist was the rudest I have encountered and to think I waa already not feeling well. Then I was told the stupidest thing... that they would call my doctor for a new prescription. New prescription for what? To get medication that they don’t even have and will not even order. I was so upset with the experience, I filed a complaint with customer relations. They should not treat people like this. I have been a Walgreens customer in other states for 6 years and I love the pharmacy but makes me really want to switch to CVS permanently. At least they told me the truth, that they do not carry the medication and ordered my medication. That particular CVS branch though, I had to leave the area. I will only be staying in this town for a few more weeks but I have lived in the East and West Coast but this is worse customer service ever. I hope they realize that if they hate their job, there are people there that need it and are more deserving:-( Horrible. Do not go to this Walgreens pharmacy please!
Very poor customer service Ive given this place too many chances. Why have a way to fill your prescriptions ahead of time if your just gonna wait til I get there anyways. I pay good money for the lack of care of and customer service. So CVS Here I come. RIP Walgreens
I print out photos at least once a week or every other week. EVERY time I go there, I must sit at the counter for 10-15 minutes waiting for someone who works in the photo department. They are NEVER in the photo department. Every time I have to literally go find a different employee, who sees me standing there, and ask them to page the photo department because they have customers sitting there waiting.
The pharmacy manager is so ugly and rude. She is not the least bit interested in helping people. Why on earth have this job if dealing with people is such an inconvenience? She yelled at me just for trying to afford my prescriptions and then screamed across the pharmacy area at me for not knowingthe price had changed on a drug. Will be contacting a regional manager as well as a store manager.
I had to wait 2 and half hours to pick up my prescription and the line wasnt even long the problem was the people working didnt know what they were doing...
My husband and I travel for his job quite a bit, Walgreens is Nationwide so moving prescriptions around is easier. We have used Walgreens in 5 states and have always had great service. This particular Walgreens pharmacy has got to be hands down the WORST. They dont have enough people working. Just standing in line to refill a prescription is 20-30 minutes. If you want to wait its at least an hour. I came in from a doctors visit with a prescription 9/28. Was told it wasnt in stock to check Wednesday. Went back Thursday 10/3, stood in line again for another 30 minutes just to be told they still didnt have it. I asked if it could be ordered, they said no. I went to walgreens again 10/9, at about 11am, stood in line for another 30 minutes and was told they did get it in but it wasnt unpacked. Check back in a couple of hours. Called at 3pm was put on hold then hung up on twice before I got a pharmacist. Yes it was in. Went back at 5:45pm stood in line again, was told it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I sat in a chair facing the pharmacy, they could definitely see me. At 6:50 I received a text saying that the insurance turned it down because it was to soon to refill. What?! I knew that wasnt right. I ran out 5 days prior and I dont even take what Im supposed to. All of my medication and vitamins are in little pill bags that I take each morning. So there were no mistakes of over dosing myself. I knew that this medication was due to be refilled 9/28. My feeling is that it had not been unpacked and they didnt want to admit that they hadnt unpacked it yet. Meanwhile there is this poor old woman who had just been discharged from the hospital propped up against the counter waiting, they told her to get in line. She obviously could barely stand so the 5 of us in line said no really its okay take her first. Turns out she had dropped prescriptions off 2 hours earlier and came back. Well they couldnt find them so they left her standing there and started working around her. Finallt they told her that they couldnt find them could she come back tomorrow? I finally get to the front of the line and ask what the deal is with the insurance. She says its like the text says, its to soon. I ask when they are due to be refilled. She says the 10th. I say its the 9th and TriCare allows scripts within 3 days of their due date (even though I know shes lying) She says I can only tell you what it says. I took my script and left. When I go in today Im getting a print out of all scripts Ive had filled there and on what dates. Talking to people around town who use Walgreens Ive heard that they are notorious for losing electronically sent scripts so many of the docs give paper scripts. If you can avoid them do.
Typical Walgreens. Tell me my prescription will be ready in 5 minutes, its 30 minutes later amd still not ready. This lady sitting next to me was wainting for a flu shot for 45 minutes. Were the only 2 here. Go to CVS
Pharmacy is a joke! They always have 4-5 people running around. Medicines are NEVER ready so you have to wait for them to make it. Staff is ridiculous and don’t care that you wait over a week for a prescription that’s been called in already.
Pharmacy employee was EXTREMELY Rude!!! There was no need for the ugly attitude !!! Changing pharmacy’s ASAP !l😊
Ironic that I havent even been able to go in for my epilepsy meds (I cant drive because I have epilepsy, so the drive-thru isnt an option) because they have had a broken light that flashes as bad as a strobe light at the pharmacy. No matter how many times I complain, they dismiss it.
Ive always had a good experience when i go to Walgreens. Employees are always helpful and nice.
Over the past several months it has been a hassle to get a prescription filled! Today took the cake though! They had the prescription for 10 days and I was told 2 days ago that it would be filled today. They knew they needed to order it. Go in to pick it up and what do you know! They didnt fill it, didnt even know if they had ordered it for yesterdays shipment! This Walgreens is a joke! Yes we are aware that medicine is a special order one but damn! When you have the script for 10 days it should be filled on time! Too bad theres no way to give negative stars on a review.
Great customer service! David is extremely helpful and knowledgeable on almost everything in Walgreens!
Awesome staff on most days, but be aware the lines get long quickly. But thats the new normal I guess.
Worst experiences I have ever encountered as far as pharmacies in this town... you call and are on hold for 45 minutes or longer, OR I called one day, was on hold 32 minutes only for them to pick up and hang up!! Scripts never ready! It’s such a nuisance here.. every month as it gets closer to needing refills I become uneasy knowing what I’m going to have to go thru!
Wanted to give 3 stars but... The pharmacy is EXPENSIVE for non-script items like blood glucose test strips, $10 more than WALLY WORLD (for 50 count). Service was very slow, but not rude as others have stated.
That our kind and helpful and the stir is all ways clean.
Walmart could learn quite a bit from Walgreens as far as keeping isles neat and clean and having nearly every single item in the store fully stocked, not to mention the rewards program with walgreens is extremely useful with whatever you need to buy, they have a sale on nearly every single item in the store as well so keep them in mind!
Yes, sometimes lines are long and take a while, but Carlsbad has an employment issue everywhere.I feel like the employees genuinely try and are very helpful, Sankar in particular as well as the informed pharmacists that make sure you know to take your meds with food or avoid sunlight, whatever the case may be.
I have been working with the staff on a unique order, and they have been wonderful!!!! I realize how busy they are and appreciate them taking time to assist me.
This place has the longest wait period I sat outside on the drive thru for 45 minutes waiting on a prescription that was sent in three days ago
This place is worse than a government DMV line. Call them and you will have to wait longer than 10 minutes - if they actually answer.
Do not use this pharmacy. Tried to get prescriptions filled 3 weeks ago and they still were unable to do their job. Was told multiple times that they would call us back and it never happened . Clerks are clueless. Bins of medication laying all over the floor. Very disorganized, unprofessional staff, long lines, and complete disregard for customers needs make this the worst pharmacy I have ever been to.
Horrible, disrespectful Pharmacists. If you take any Controlled Medication, you will be treated like a dog. Would love to give 0 stars.
This is the absolute worse pharmacy I have ever tried to contact. I sat on hold for 20 min for an error their pharmacists made by billing ins for a prescription that was not filled there. BEWARE
I would have given zero stars but it wouldnt let me. 5 days to fill a prescription. Zero follow through with the physicians office. The pharmacy licenses are not displayed in compliance with state law where people can actually read them and staff refuses to give pharmacy licencing information upon request. This is litigation waiting to happen.........
I enjoy shopping here, the prices are good and the workers are helpful and friendly. It is a clean store.
I loath shopping here; the prices are ridiculous and the staff are clueless and apathetic. Could use some deep cleaning.
Waiting more than 30 minutes at the drive window through before i was even helped. Horrible slow
Slow pharmacy. Everything I go to pick up medicine I can expect to wait in line for at least 45 mins with only 2 or 3 people in front of me. Almost all of the pharmacy employees have no idea what they are doing and have to ask for help. Never have medicine in stock and always have to wait 6 or 7 hours before the prescriptions get filled.. Id give no stars if I could
The appeal of the store is overcrowded with boxes in the aisle at times. Other than that it is a clean appealling store. There are never enough employees. ESPECIALLY in the pharmacy. Wait time when your prescription is supposed to be already filled is 20-30 minutes just during a normal time. If there is a new employee or it is rush time I have waited an hour to 1 1/2 hours. Also I go to pick up my prescription tonight, which granted it is Labor Day, but they are closed on Monday at 6:30 with no sign on the window. There was nothing to indicate early closure on the machine when I called it in.
Open 24hrs ... Very convenient
I rate this store with one star, only because they are at least consistently the most time consuming place I have to visit in Carlsbad, NM.
Pharmacy is a joke. Moving my business elsewhere.
So the lady with the glasses is very rude as I was trying to get medical information ...she ether antisocial or 50 shames of lame
The doc called in a prescription for my son 3 days ago, after being told repeatedly they were working on it we went to the store the next morning and were told they lost it. Went back to the Dr. And got another prescription and took it back. All day today, we have called and the doctors have called asking where is the medication ! As of an hour ago, we called yet again and were told maybe they would have it tomorrow?! Ridiculous !
Dont go to the pharmacy window unless you have 45 minutes to kill
Worst pharmacy waiting line long and when you call you are on hold and takes longer than 30 min or it hangs up when someone answers having you call again to be put on hold..
Pharmacy is pretty bad, but the store is OK.
Great service
The care in that place is very bad and very bad for the COVID 19 test
