Incredible store these are some of my favourite items Ive bought at the store. Literally the only place I buy videogames at now.

At first, I just thought Id browse through the store and see what Retro Attack had in stock. Thanks to the quality customer service provided by Corey and Adam, they convinced me to come back and try trading in some of my old games. I gladly took them up on the offer and Im really ecstatic that I did. Throughout the entire interaction, Corey and Adam were the kindest, most welcoming duo. Corey was quite informative about the games I brought in and he was really transparent throughout the entire process. I really appreciate the experience I had here and look forward to coming back! This place really is a safe haven for gamers/collectors!

Super friendly staff with such a fun inventory. We bought an N64 and four controllers. One joystick broke and they remembered us, gave us a replacement without even asking for the broken controller return. Awesome!

Has one of the best selections of video games and systems in the Bay Area. As a good friend, I can see how much time and effort he puts into everything that goes into his store. He spends countless hours cleaning and testing games and systems to make sure he gives you the best possible product and experience when you buy from him. A place to buy sell trade video games in Santa Cruz County ( Capitola Mall in Capitola ) !

I have known Retro attacks owner Cory for years. He is super knowledgeable about anything you could possibly want in gaming. He has always given me fair deals with anything and everything I could have wanted. Often times he gives me a better deal than most which is awesome because I know how important getting the best quality old school games and systems is important to him. He works super hard testing and cleaning systems and games to give you the most optimal bang for you buck. Cant beat his customer service. By far the best old-school gaming store around.

I want to live here. It’s paradise. The game selection is good, but it’s the dizzying array of modern and retro action figures that really scramble my noodle. The staff is super nice too. You can tell they’re happy to be there.

This is a fantastic store with local owners that are unbelievably kind and helpful, and make you feel right at home. The store is well stocked with all kinds of hard to find video games and equipment, and retro toys. It is well organized, with fair prices. Its been a long time since Ive been in such a neighborly and welcoming store. I just love these guys.

Their new location at the front of the mall is STUNNING. Walking in there is like being transported in time. Ive been a customer through their 2 location moves and they continue to amaze. Not just the store but with customer service. Corey is clearly incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about what he does and makes everyone feel like an important frequent customer Prices are fair and trade-in is fantastic. Couldn’t be any better. Staff are very friendly and clearly enjoy their job, as well as helping customers :) I went in to get one of my favorite old games and walked out with some of the best purchases i’ve made! Will definitely be returning in search of more gems.

Ive been to this place 3 times in under the span of a month. First I went to get a Nintendo 64 not sure if they had one or not and right on the spot no questions asked they had one with every game I wanted with prices you cant beat. The second time I came the staff was so friendly and noticed me right off the bat knowing who I was and welcoming me with a its great to have you back they even recommend some games I was looking for from the first time. They made a mistake by giving me the wrong power cord and notified me immediately. Knowing I live over half an hour away they compensated the mistake they made and I didnt even ask for it. I will continue to shop here and know that my hard earned cash is not being taken advantage of I get exactly what I paid for here

Amazing staff, responsive, caring, and really care about their customers and the quality of their products. Atmosphere is always welcoming which further encourages you to continue visiting and shopping for their merchandise. Quickly became a favorite to my partner who quickly became a regular for said reasons. And as one of the store owners said, Retro attack makes dreams come true, and to this I agree as they are sure to bring back your childhood nostalgia relics into the present. Best place to find old games

One of the most nostalgic amazing places you could ever find the most collectible and valuable games on the market nothing but a great experience all around good quality products guaranteed to find something for somebody as a present or spoil yourself. Best trade in prices good customer service.

This place is by far the best place in Santa Cruz County to get all things RETRO! I love this store and they’re always restocking with a ton of quality games, toys, and accessories. Go hit up Retro Attack the next time you go to the capitola mall, you’re missing out if you don’t!

GREAT shop- huge selection of games and accessories. They share the spot with a toy shop which is equally cool! all employees are so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. You can find some rare stuff here. I picked up a game boy advance and some games, very happy with everything and will return. :D

I had an amazing experience with these guys. I pulled out some stuff that were just taking up space in storage, and they were thrilled to take a look. Cory handled the video games, George sorted through the toys. The transaction was effortless and efficient. On top of that, I felt like I was amongst my people! I love having this shop in town. Great selection, great staff and prices. Ive bought a few Gamecube games through the website and was able to pick them up quick and easy, Ill definitely be doing that again if I see a must have game online. Love this store. Its spacious and well organized. The owner is super knowledgeable and helpful. Everything is decently priced. They sell, buy and trade too. The toy section, Hadbro is a cool blast from the past and always seems to have new products every time I visit.

Retro attack is one of the only good things left in the dying Capitola Mall! The store is shared with a old school/collectible toy store. Video games on the left toys on the right. This review is for the video game store on the left side. This store is amazing and great for all ages. They sell new and old school video games and are locally owned by true born and raised Santa Cruz natives that have been doing this for years! The owner has been selling video games in Santa Cruz county forever! They started at the Flea market/online then grew to a store front on water st and now to there current and best location yet inside the Capitola Mall. Sure the mall is dead but at this point they are what I call a destination store, meaning your most likely to be heading to the mall for this store then to just stumble upon it waking by. Unlike most video game stores and GameStop they don’t carry 50 copy’s of “filler” titles like madden 12 or need for speed underground but have actually sought after/rare games like Pokémon, Mario, etc. They offer the best trade in prices for used games in Santa Cruz and if you are looking for a specific game they will find it and get it in stock for you!! Highly recommend checking out this spot for all your video game needs in Santa Cruz county! PS starting in March they will be relocating in the mall from there spot by zumiez to the old radio shack spot by the main entrance. Almost 4x the size of there spot in the mall now!!!

Went to the new location in Capitola Mall today. This store is half retro gaming and half retro toys. Cory and one of the employees met me me outside to help me carry in 100+ games for trade in. Cory was was quick in determining the trade in value and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount that he offered. This store has a little bit of everything for the retro collector. From video games and consoles to action figures, Funko Pops and retro board games. His business partner George was busy cleaning and finding places to display his merchandise. They have a lot of great stuff crammed into a fairly small space. Cory, George and Yoshi were very welcoming, friendly and informative. I will definitely be doing business with them again. I highly recommend this place for the retro collector.

Alot of retro games AND retro toys

I was searching everywhere for a Nintendo Wii and came across this store on Facebook. We went in and see a nice collection of retro action figures and video games. We ended up buying a Nintendo Wii and a couple games for a really great, no haggle price. Even included some extras for no charge. Will definitely be stopping by everyone Im in town to pick up new stuff.
