Fairly disappointing place. It isnt particularly clean, and the employees dont use gloves. The ice cream is expensive and is Dreyers; its better to buy a quart at the store and make your own cone. Its cash only, but there is an ATM inside. The island berry smoothie is good; however, they water it down with tap water if its too little.

The service here was horrible, there were two young women who are running the front counter. In which I asked questions about dairy free options and one of the girls had no idea about anything. In which I tried to order two separate items and one of the women were just completely clueless and could not give me what I ordered. Then I added candy to my order just for something sweet and she couldn’t do the math to give me my money back. Then on top of that I was not aware that they are cash only. There was no specification that it was cash only as well, in which I was told that out to only cash. I’m trying to have a nice vacation with my family, and this was not a good ending to my day.

Whats not to like? Its basic ice cream shop ice cream, which means its better than (most of) the grocery store stuff. They offer the usual -- ice cream in 15 flavors, ice cream in a bowl, ice cream in a cone (waffle or otherwise). But its not like this is a must-go location. If youre in the area and fancy a treat of ice cream, feel free to drop in; there arent any other noticeable ice cream shops in the immediate area.

Ive been going here since before I can remember. Only now as an adult have I noticed that the man who is probably the owner is unceasingly kind and humourous and engaging, even to kids just learning to order and pay on their own, which is kind of a big deal. Every time. All day long. Since I was a kid, and now for my kid. And lets not forget the waffle cones are kind of amazing.

The owner was so kind and made my 4 year old a special cone with cream and sprinkles for no cost. My other children ordered and the little one was not sure if she wanted anything because she had just woke up from a nap. Thank you for making my daughter feel special! She loved the ice cream! Souza’s cone is absolutely a great family business that cares!

The girls were disrespectful and didn’t know anything. They acted like they were slow and also was very disgusted they were so unsanitary and reckless.

Every time my kids and I go to the beach we stop in for a ice cream, the employees are always helpful, quick and polite. The waffle cones are amazing. I love this place, it makes for a perfect family friendly day on the beach.Shannon

I stopped here with 4 friends on 6-18-20. I was caught off guard given the environment we are in that they are still cash only. If this isnt enough to get you motivated to join the 21st century and care for the customer I dont know what will. I was further surprised that there were 3 employees, only one seemed to be doing anything and she was both dishing out ice cream and handling the cash without gloves while digging into the ice cream. Theyve lost me as a loyal customer. After reading other reviews its now apparent that they dont care about reviews, but there are better options right there in the village. They must survive on tourists alone that dont know any better.

Very disappointed to find a place in 2020 that not only refuses to take anything but cash, but also doesnt warn you until you are at the cash register. Poor experience in general with inadequate social distancing.

The ice cream was ok, nothing special. It was a bit pricey and my waffle cone was not filled all the way...when I went to pay the cashier was a bit rude when telling me they dont accept cards.

They are not honest. They dont publish they take only cash and after you already ordered they direct you to their ATM with charge high commision rate. Be aware!! There Icecream is industrial one you may buy at any grocey shop.

Friendliest service! She has owned the business 31 years thus you can expect great conversation about Capitola. Loved the ice cream and saltwater taffy. Kids loved as a break from the beach. Cash only.

There were several things wrong with my experience. The workers had an attitude as soon as I walked in. As a result, I didnt purchase anything and left the store. There is a better place a short walk away that has better service. Go there.

Workers were rude and openly insulted passersby while I paid. In addition, they are cash only but do not have any clear sign that says so, and the ATM has a $3 fee to use, effectively doubling the price of a scoop if you dont have cash. Theres another ice cream shop a block away; go there

Its a must to visit every time I take the kids to capitola. Been going for twenty years, the owners are awesome and always make the kids laugh would definitely recommend whenever youre in capitola to stop by.

Wanted some ice cream. Wouldnt had been a big deal if they would have at least advertised cash only but as soon as u get to the register to pay for your ice cream they say they are cash only and to use the atm. The arm charges $5 and has a 20$ minimum. I just wanted a $5 single scoop of ice cream but it ended up costing me 10$. Definitely a tourist trap and definitely trying to take advantage of customer for the atm fees :/ kinda a shame..

Dont go to this place! They want to cheat you for your money. The cashier took money from us and then later denied having received the payment. She asked us to pay again! They take only Cash and do not give a receipt. Shady place alert!!! I would give it no stars.
