Absolutely amazing! I spoke with Jessica and William primarily, who were both exceptionally kind and helpful people, but everyone that worked there was also great! They quickly fixed my tire even though I had to bring it in at the very end of the day. I highly recommend using them, you won’t regret it! Thanks again for your help guys!

I came to get tire replacements for $456.34 but ended up with a damaged TPM that was going off and on with the LR tire. I called for them to tell me to bring it in so I brought my car back and immediately there was a change in attitude and I was told to come back the next day so I did. They replaced the TPM but on the next day it goes off again(same tire) I immediately call them again for us to agree to bring it in that following Thursday which I did just for them to tell me to come back the next morning. (This new TPM sensor was worse than the damaged one instead of going off and on it just stayed off which indicates a defective part) I come back the next morning and instead of replacing the defective TPM that is clearly not working that they put in they just re-sync it and call it a day. Then told me if it happens again take it to a dealership to pay for a repair and that they are doing me a favor and it was never their fault . Almost immediately the same day(TODAY) it happens again same tire. I drive my 11 year old & infant son around and dont feel comfortable not knowing if my tire is losing air especially when on the highway.

This was the friendliest place! Welcoming, sense of humor, great AC in the waiting area...:) Jessica and Daunte were so helpful and took extra time to explain what turned out to be a complicated problem. Their service was fast, friendly, and fair-priced. I got an appointment quickly and Im glad I can rely on them being nearby. Great experience.

I cannot recommend Mavis Tires & Brakes (Cambridge, MA location) highly enough! Friendly, quick, and thorough. I made an appointment to come by due to one of my tires going flat. They figured out it was a sealing issue and took care of it right away in less than an hour, and replaced it with the spare. They also gave me information that I felt was trustworthy and reliable about the state of my tires and laid out a thorough recommendation and timeline for taking care of them. At no point did I feel any pressure to follow their guidance or experience any bit of that yucky coercion feeling that many of us experience when car repair shops try to make a quick buck off of you and your lack of car expertise, and you’re left wondering whether you actually need the repair and worry about whether it’s life/death or not and feeling like you have to pick between pricey repairs or your/others safety.I felt that their assessment and recommendation was fair, honest, and VERY reasonably priced, and they were very patient in answering my many questions. I will definitely be coming by here to have all four of my tires replaced and aligned in a few months. They didn’t even charge me for the tire sealing and said to come back if the same issue happens again before the tires are replaced! Most other places would have charged a ridiculous diagnostic fee on top of multiple inflated service charges (including the dealership where I purchased my used car from). Mavis Tires & Brakes break every negative stereotype you have of car repair shops!

I got four tires installed. I ordered online Wednesday afternoon. No deposit needed. Installed Friday. $536 for the tires, install $80, alignment $90, disposal $10. I don’t know much about tires, but the price seemed decent to me.They recommended I replace my rear shocks, struts, and brakes too. I didn’t want to, but I did. When I got it back I gave it a quick test drive, I have to admit that the car rides pretty nicely now.I don’t usually write reviews, but Matthew asked me to. I appreciated that they got all the work done quickly and that my car is in good shape now. Thank you.

Took my car in last minute for a flat tire. Staff was friendly and helpful. It took a little bit longer than anticipated but I ended up paying less than expected, even when they had to close a few minutes late to ensure my car was ready.

Came to get new tires due to what I thought was a problematic flat on one rear tire. The tire specialist was very attentive, informative and accommodating. He informed me that my tire had a small hole and just needed to be patched. He fixed it in no time flat and I was on my way. He also informed me that my other four tires were good for another 6months saving me time and funds that I am extremely grateful for. Great services. We got a flat tire on Mass Pike and needed a new tire right away. They took us and installed a new tire within a few hours. Very much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Stopped by at the end of the work day because I had noticed slow leaks in two older tires on my vehicle. Was helped immediately with a free consultation on my tires and educated on how to read the dates off the printing on the sidewall. Was given a ballpark pricing and turnaround time estimates that were very fair and most welcome from a local shop, will definitely be doing business with them.

Stay Away!!,They have had me replace my rear brakes on my car twice in the last 2 years. They didnt warrant the brakes they did last year and just chalked it up to rusting and pitting. They just installed another set of rotors and pads last month, and I noticed uneven wear on the back left rotor. They put the 2 inside brake pads on the back left wheel, the bumps on the pads did not sit well against the Caliper arm, but had this been on the inside of the right wheel it wouldnt have been an issue. I know nothing about cars and was able to figure out this was the problem. Their lack of attention to detail is concerning. Silver lining, their shotty work has encouraged me to learn how to replace my own brakes. Spend the money for tools and they will pay for themselves with your first brake replacement.

This place is GREAT! I unfortunately blew out a tire on a Sunday - After looking around at my options, Mavis was one of the few shops that provided car services on a Sunday. I definitely chose the right place! When I arrived at Mavis, the staff was very friendly and upfront as to what my options were with my vehicle. I was able to get a new tire shipped directly to the store and put on my vehicle with zero problems. Both Jimmy and Matt were two individuals who were super helpful! Overall if you are in the Cambridge/Boston area and youre looking for honest, hardworking, car mechanics, please take a look at MAVIS!!

I pulled in immediately after leaving Valvoline next door because something wasn’t right. It was busy so busy but Xavier was so friendly and helpful. He listened to me, checked everything, and found something that had been disconnected. Fixed in no time. I will be bringing my car back here for service!

I visited on Monday aug 23 and I have had a lovely experience. They were able to get me in for an alignment in a timely manner, and the mechanic who did my alignment gave me thorough insight into the ongoing issues with my car. He didnt need to go above and beyond but he did! The person at the front counter was so welcoming and friendly, and the manager was also very helpful and communicative. I will definitely be coming back for future work i need to get done on my car.

I was going to NYC, and had a tire with a bubble in it. I was at NTB at opening, and the store manager was there. She did not have the tire in stock, but rather than send me to another store, she took a really close look at my tire. Everyone else I asked gave me a stock answer (replace immediately...) but she said I dont recommend, but..., and it worked out perfectly.The manager shared the challenges of her job during these times, and I am impressed with her professionalism, honesty, AND that she did not charge me to rotate the suspect tire to the back.

These folks have saved my bacon on more than one occasion in the past, but today was truly outstanding. I was running an errand on the opposite end of the city from home when I realized I had driven over a large screw. I also realized Id forgotten my phone at home (who does that?!) and Mavis (the old NTB) was one of the few service places I feel like I could truly trust after having worked with other mechanics and service centers in the area. I drove into North Cambridge without an appointment or any way to make one. When I arrived, I wasnt surprised to hear that they had no room in the schedule for a walk-in and they were short-staffed, but Matt confirmed I had a fast leak and offered to make some calls to other nearby spots to see if anyone could get me in. We talked a bit more and it was pretty clear I was in a real bind, with the tire quickly going flat. Within a minute, hed made the decision to fit me in and get the tire fixed on the spot. As I was waiting, I overheard another happy customer telling Matt and the crew that they are heroes for saving his vacation - he had also had a tire problem on his way out of town and theyd been able to take care of him and get him safely back on the road despite working with a skeleton crew on a busy weekend day. I went to the Mavis in cambridge a while ago and they helped me get a mavis card to help pay. Y bill and went over everything thoroughly so I u derstoox all of the issue with my vehicle. JR is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond d to help me every time I go there. Good shop. Went into the city and ended up noticing my tires wouldnt fill up. Found this place and they took a look. The manager took me over and told me about my old tires, inflated them, checked for leaks, etc. They didnt charge me for this at all.I ended up going elsewhere for the tire replacement simply because this place is an hour and a half away from me, but otherwise I certainly would have brought it here. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

I needed a tire to be replaced, I went to NTB Cambridge (Mavis Now) 2501 Massachusetts Avenue because it’s close to where I live. They didn’t have my tire and they were going to need to order it so I agreed. The manager took my name and phone number down and they would contact me to order the tire. I waited 2 days and no call back, at that point I went on Amazon and found my tire $152 with installation at NTB Cambridge $168 which was almost $100 cheaper than the initial rough estimate from NTB so I ordered it and had the tire delivered to the NTB Cambridge store. I received a message from Amazon that the tire had been delivered ski I stopped by the NTB/Mavis Cambridge location to setup an appointment which went smoothly for Sunday morning at 9:30am. I arrived at the NTB/ Mavis store at 9:30 there was only one other customer there at that time. The estimated time I was told it would take a 20 minutes to change the tire out. So I sat down enjoying my cup of coffee on a rainy Sunday morning. As time was going by I could not help to notice my car at 10am still parked where I left it, at 10:30 my car has still not moved. At this time at 10:53am as I’m writing this review the tech came to me to ask me if it is the right rear tire that needs to be replaced. I then explained to him it is the passenger rear tire that is damaged (chunk of the side-wall is missing). The manager said to me that “it was a good idea that he checked with me” I nodded my head in agreement as I continued to type this review which helped me process my anger of having an appointment for a 15-20 minute job and still waiting at 11am for my car to be done. I have not left many reviews in the past of any businesses however I think that I should warn folks of what seemed normal practice of not valuing customers time, However the attitude of it being a privilege of having NTB/Mavis working on your car. It is 11:10 am and I’m still waiting for my tire to be changed out without the manager (white shirt) walking in and out of the waiting room not excusing the extremely long wait for a single tire to be changed. It is now 11:15 am and my car is still in a bay. I can safely and fairly say it is a 2 hour wait with an appointment to change a tire at NTB/Mavis Cambridge. I do not know if this is common at other locations however it certainly seems to be common at this location at 2501 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA NTB/Mavis

What a great experience! I was sold an SUV with three correct size tires and one wrong size tire. I was told that I would have to get another wheel. The staff at Mavis went above and beyond and not only finished the job properly but they actually stayed passed closing time to make sure my car was taken care of. I highly recommend their services to any and everyone.

Excellent quality, and their customer service is superb! OK, there is a flaw -they are overwhelmed, which indicates how popular they are, so dont expect a service to be fast, even if you make an appointment in advance. So the bottom line is - if you want a quality service at a very reasonable price and do not mind spending few hours in the shop or dropping a car with them, thats the place to go!

Great place! I had difficulties finding someone to install my new tire after the 4th of July weekend; my other places were either closed or booked up til Friday afternoon. They were so friendly, showed me exactly what had happened with my old tire that got a flat, fit me in the next day (as soon as the new tire came in) and gave me a good price. Just know, bc of change in mgmt the sign out front still says NTB not Mavis

The manager was incredibly rude. I was told it would take 2 hours max to get my winter tires replaced. 6 hours later I have not received a call to say my car is ready, so I call and they tell me they have not even started on my car. I asked if they could get it done ASAP (I needed my car that evening) and the manager got mad at me and told me to leave and get my tires changed somewhere else. I understand that sometimes things get backed up, but he took out his frustration on me. It was totally unwarranted and very unprofessional.

Matt and his team have earned my trust over several visits to their shop. They are transparent, honest, and go out of their way to do a great job. They are pleasant to work with and do quality work. I have had difficult experiences at other shops, and am so glad to have found one around who can help me in a trustworthy, efficient, and reliable way.

The guys here are wonderful. Looked at my leaky tire right away, when they couldnt find anything wrong with it they put sealant on the inside and didnt charge me anything for the repair. Ill definitely be back here!

Ran over a screw over the weekend which punctured my tire. Brought it in to the Cambridge MA tire center. Was happy they have Sunday hours. Very friendly great service. They fixed my tire good as new. Would highly recommend and will be going back if needed.

Three out of the last 4 visits there, they knocked it out of the park. The only thing that went wrong on the 3rd visit was they didnt have the tire I needed. Neither did ANYONE ELSE in the area! I cant blame them for that, so 5 stars.

These guys were awesome - I came in with what I thought was a slow leak from a previously patched tire, but couldnt tell which tire was causing my sensor light to go off. Matt and his guys took every tire off, checked them all for leaks and checked the two patches to make sure they still were holding, and rotated all the tires. They didnt find a leak, so Matt talked to me about the tire sensor light and why it may have gone off without making me feel like I was being talked down to or wasting their time. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, and was super delighted to discover that they dont charge for tire rotations. Definitely going back to these dudes when I need new tires.

I always have nothing but great service when I am at NTB. I went yesterday because air was running out of my rear tire. They took great care of me and before you know it, I was on my way. Even though they were very busy, they took great care of my car and I greatly appreciate their work.

My car had a metal plate in the undercarriage caught on something that I drove over and was scraping against the ground making a bad noise. The folks at NTB were able to quickly fix the issue within minutes on a Sunday, no less. Excellent service, highly recommend!

I went to this NTB location to check a problem with my tires and they were able to diagnose and solve the problem in short time. I was in and out during my lunch period! I will definitely be coming back here whenever I need any other work.

They are very busy. I called them after having an issue with another company. I have a fleet vehicle and it needed to be serviced that day. The man who answered said yes to come over right then. He said there was about an hour wait to be serviced. So I did, yet I stood waiting in the shop for about 20 mins while another custome fumbled to find info on his phone for his payment info. (Im guessing he was financing his needed work?) So I asked if I could come back in 30 mins, because I had not had a chance to have breakfast due to my morning complications and they obviously would be a bit longer working with the other customer. He said yes come back in a few mins.I came back and then the man told me they could not get to my car today. I told him I needed it serviced before I could use it for work. There was a woman who Im guessing is a supervisor, took my info and told me they would get it done by the end of the day.I went back twice, once to ask when they closed and then at 545 just before they closed.They had not serviced my car. They simply did not have time to get to mine that day. (I saw the back parking lot was full of cars that needed work too that day) So I was told I could come back at 8 am and they would fit me in.I did return the next morning shortly after 8am. They serviced my car by 1030!Thankfully the car is new so it works well to begin with yet an oil change is always good. Plus they either did an alignment or tire rotation because it is steering better too. The steering a was a bit off the past week after the last snow storm. I forgot to mention it because I was so out of sorts. However I could tell that they serviced the car well after driving it a bit!The work was well done!

I took my car for an oil change and it was done poorly. The oil cup was loose and resulted in my car losing power. I had to tow it to another mechanic to diagnose such an easy problem. Avoid a headache and take your car somewhere else!!!! The only good thing was that I got refunded all expenses, since the mistake happened at NTB, the bad was that I was left without a car for a week. Very disappointed with this place.Update: I got this oil change in July, and fast forward to Nov 2020---when doing the oil change, they forgot to close the cap correctly and it lead to an oil leak, the car running without oil, and the timing chain stretching. Good thing is that NTB has acknowledged to their mistakes and will fix it, BAD NEWS is that Ive been without a car for 2 MONTHS and they still havent fixed it.There is a lot of back and forth--it takes forever to get in touch with the right people. I think I call the Customer Solutions Group daily. Its moving at a very low pace, its almost like they dont care theyve left a customer without a vehicle. Very disappointed in the level of care and customer treatment.I just hope I can get my car back before Thanksgiving.

Sam and Eric took to the time to help me understand each part of the repair and I felt treated like a valued customer.I had gotten a flat tire from a rough pot-hole and had called a roadside service to put the spare tire on for me. This third party had cross-threaded the bolt which meant that in addition to a flat tire, I was looking at additional replacement parts. Sam and Eric were so diligent with working with me and the third party road service and I felt like NTB Cambridge went above and beyond to ensure my car was fixed.I will be using them again, anytime I have a problem, because of the service I received!

They told me i needed $2000 of work done in order to pass state inspection. when i said no, they then didn’t work on my car for three days. i only needed a fog light replaced, and i provided the fog light. i passed my inspection the same day i picked up my car with none of the work done. other than that they were nice.
