Sal has been my go-to repairman since 2003. He has always been ongoing trustworthy, honest, professional, knowledgeable, sincere, and a good friend who provides excellent service. He once found me a car to purchase when mine was a loss for repairs The car he found me turned out to be an excellent deal. Another time, I left my RV on his lot for months when I could not yet afford the repairs and he never complained to me about it until his insurance company gave him grief over it. He has helped me when I didnt have enough money for repairs and also when I did have the money for repairs. I trust him explicitly! Lewis and the other members of his staff are equally nice and knowledgeable. I could even sell my car to one of them if I wanted to. This is a relationship that has lasted decades and will continue to do so. I highly recommend McCarthy Automotive! 5 STARS ALWAYS!

Ive been going to McCarthy for nearly seven years. If I had to describe their top three characteristics, its as follows: 1. Trustworthy. The proprietor, Sal, has never tried to inflate what needs to be done or upsell me on additional services. They have always stated what they feel is required, even when I have asked them about work that other mechanics have suggested; if they dont think its needed, they wont suggest it. 2. Utilitarian. They do what you need and nothing more; no bells and whistles. I had to change my fuel line. They used an off-brand gas cap because it was half the price and equally effective. 3. ON TIME. This is truly a rare thing. When they say something will be ready, 90% of the time it is. If youre looking for a trustworthy, no-frills mechanic who delivers what they promise, this is the place.

Im so glad I found McCarthy! My car was becoming slow in starting and I knew it was the starter. My husband and I already had it diagnosed and knew it wasnt the alternator or battery as it was brand new. The dealership and even AAA Car Care Center (yes Im an AAA member) wanted to charge $600 to replace it, while other shops I reached out to wanted me to bring the car in to diagnose it although I already stated it was diagnosed already...I reached out to Sal on a Saturday, he responded in less than an hour and was able to schedule my appointment for that Monday. He was very honest, professional, prompt, and upfront about price/costs, which was a third of what I was being quoted by everyone else. He replaced the starter within an hour. Hes definitely in my digital Rolodex and I highly recommend him. He truly saved us time and money. Thank you SAL!!

I needed my brakes worked on, and didnt have much time. I dropped the car off, and it was ready in about 3 hours. He replaced my brakes and rotors for less than I expected. Sal was polite, no upselling, overall just did his job and returned my car quickly. Great job Sal!

Ive been taking my car to McCarthy for several years. Theyre always there for me. They take care of my car on short notice, when necessary. They have fair prices and they do good work. I would definitely recommend them and Ive moved 25 mules away, but still bring my car to them.

Was not at all happy with how things turned out. I started out having McCarthy do some small oil changes and stuff on my Infiniti, all had gone well. Then when I needed to get new brakes and front rotors redone, Mr. Sal gave me two prices. We settled on a $750 Brembo front rotor brake job. Already outrageously expensive, but when they had gained possession of my vehicle they also informed me that I was going to need a rear wheel bearing housing unit. A $100 part and $275 labor fee. That alone pretty much sucked, as I am a student barely making it by. When it was all said and done and I had my car back, and with a hit of over $1100, obviously. I decided to pop my tire off and check out my new top of the line rotors; but it was then that I realized that I had been straight up okie doked. On closer inspection of the rotors, it turned out that they were not Brembo rotors at all, but some cheap mid grade rotors that had the same cross drilled and slotted depressions as Brembos have. Anyway, the point of this story is to tell you that though McCarthy may do the work you ask them to. But they will also buy the most expensive part at the lowest quality for what you asked, charge you up the ass for the labor, and give you absolutely no brakes on or discounts (pun intended.) And if this happens to you, also realize that there is nothing the BAR can do for you (per usual) because again; youve probably only made a verbal agreement as to what you want. Hope my unfortunate experience helps. They are unethical and only out to get your money (per usual.)
