Ben is the best owner/host! Extremely charismatic, fun, warm and welcoming space, even when waiting outside on a cold rainy day during Covid times when it was window service only I felt the love for all people.

Ended up here on a Sunday after discovering our local favorite in Bath was closed unexpectedly. Because of the reviews I decided to take the drive and wait in the 30 minute line. Service and offerings didn’t disappoint! My guests from Boston raved about the muffin, breakfast sandwich, and coffee. Will look forward to our next visit!!!

I live in Vermont, and always make It a point to stop into Dog Bar Jim on my way up and down the coast of Maine. It’s a tiny place with big flavors! There’s always something new on the menu that puts a smile on my face. Even to most experienced palette, your socks will be knocked off.. If you ask what that hint of flavor is...It’s a secret!

Hands down, the best coffee in the Midcoast area. Ben essentially ruined coffee for me because anytime I think about going somewhere else or even making coffee at home, it pales in comparison to whatever magic hes working with. Oh, and the food? Yea, be sure to come hungry.

This place has amazing food and wonderful coffee. The staff is beyond friendly and a blast to talk with. Whenever we are in town we stop by. If there is a line dont turn away, they are quick and its worth the wait.

Ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and hash browns inside it, as well as a large iced coffee for $6. Let that bill total sink in, and the food was delicious. The sandwich literally melted in my mouth and the iced coffee was both bold and smooth. Highly recommend! Over the weekend ordered a breakfast sandwich at a deli on Maine street and it was over $6 and not nearly as good, and another one at a bakery on Union street which was over $10 for the sandwich and a blueberry muffin. Learned my lesson, I am sticking with Dog Bar Jim for the best food at the best price!

Ben serves the best lattes I have found and his pastries, muffins, hand pies, and sandwiches are creative and so very delicious! Ben also plays a stellar mix of music and offers great banter and discussion while working his magic behind the counter.

Life is too short to drink your caffeinated beverages elsewhere. This is the place to be.

Dog Bar Jim is the best local coffee shop in the Midcoast. The owner is a sole proprietor and operator and knows his stuff w/r/t coffee, with many years of experience in the arena. His cortados are properly strong, intense, and just the right amount of milk to tackle the natural acidity of the espresso. Great brewed coffee choices as well as baked goods and breakfast items. The establishment has a casual vibe and is equally suitable for regulars and visitors. You cant go wrong here. Great location in the eminently walkable and charming Brunswick. Not far from Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theatre and Maine Street.

Dog Bar is a Brunswick staple. Family run coffee shop with kickass drinks, food, and decor. Jim is a community icon, and we love him very much! The love for this shop is apparent!

DBJ is amazing. The lattes are wonderful, sticky buns superb, and the iced tea refreshing, not to mention the great owner, Ben.

Great local place for coffee, bagels, scones, etc. It is a very welcoming place. Sometimes there is a wait but thats because they interact with customers which is nice. It seems like there is always a conversation going on. Make sure to get there early if you want the homemade pastry items, sometimes they sell out. Overall a great place to have in the neighborhood.

Awesome little spot. Had an iced chai with a shot of espresso in it and an onion bagel with the smoked trout smear on it. Everything was delicious and the owner Im guessing was excited and fun to talk with, he made you feel welcome and was personally handling all the services and customers himself. I will be making Dog Bar Jim a regular stop. Oh and they have an adorable little deck with water bowls for pups and some outside seating in addition to the couple of cozy bars and tables to sit st indoors.

This place feels like home the moment you walk in the door. The owner is outgoing and made us feel like we had been going there for years on our first visit. He was friendly and welcoming to both my 7 year old son and I. There is parking out back and on street parking available as well. Lots of nice options to caffeinated your day or feed the belly. A comfortable place to sit and catch up with family and friends. Well worth a stop in Brunswick.

Crazy ingredients mixed perfectly! So happy to know that there is a cozy pad on the quiet street where a local enthusiast making his crazy good concoctions in the oven. Keep mixing it up!

This is fantastic coffee without the pretentious attitude. Cool environment with interesting mugs and art give you insight into the owners sense of humor. The guy is also a great conversationalist and that makes me stick around for another cup generally. Highly recommended, contender for best in show in Cumberland County.

If you are looking for a quaint little coffee corner to call home, this is the place for you. Great service and great food. I will definitely be going again!

There isnt a whole lot on the menu but what is there is done incredibly well! The shops a little off the beaten path of main street, but the extra block is worth it. Atmosphere, prices, and staff are all right on point. Definitely check it out!
