The tire professionals. If it takes long to get service its because they do things right. They are helpful and care for your safety. I strongly recommend discount to anyone who needs to replace some old tires. If youre on a budget these guys will hook you up.

Bought new tires for my noble steed. Prices are fair. Nice variety of tires & rims. Staff is attentive. Recently went back to repair a puncture. The tire was repaired in a timely manner. They facilitate the purchase by offering you a credit card. Upon approval you will qualify for incentives, such as 0% interest for an alloted period of time or a promotional rebate.

Jose did a great job of assisting. He tried to get me a good deal on my set of tires. I did find a better deal at Sam’s, but I called Discount tire, and they price matched and lowered the price for me. The entire staff was extremely kind and friendly and made me feel welcomed.

This location was great! Customer service was amazing, friendly and very attentive. I was told Id be here no more than 30 minutes for a tire repair and they kept their word. The service was great, and they are following the COVID guidelines. You need a mask to go inside, if you dont have one they can provide one for you. There is a tent in the front where you can get registered and they come to your car for further instructions. Seating inside is also separated as per COVID guidelines. I arrived early in the morning so there were barely and customers here.

Everyone I spoke with was super nice and helpful, and they were very efficient. My car was done before I expected. There was plenty of space between seats in the waiting area and it was very clean. Great experience.

Friendly reminder to please plan/anticipate your visit!!!I came in yesterday after work to ask for an appointment, one of the employees was kind enough to quickly acknowledge my need of assistance. Luckily they had a spot available at the time I needed for the next day. I came in on time today for my appointment, and didn’t have to wait in line. Eddie was very helpful with explaining and giving a quote for several options to repair or replace two of my tires. Before I made a final payment, Eddie went over about what services were going to rendered, prices and an estimate of how long the services would take. Great customer service!

Good customer service, but they take very LONG.I came in at 2:50 for a rotate and balance and was told I my car was going to be finished by 4:45. Well, people that got there an hour later than me to purchase tires left before me. They charge them and they would put there cars in right away. I had to go up to the guy that checked me in to tell him I needed my keys at 4:40 because they kept skipping my car. He looked upset and said well then let me put the car in to do the rotate and balance. It is upsetting that they skip cars and dont respect the time frame they tell you or the order people get there for the service.

On vacation in SPI. Drove to this location on my spare. Told I needed a new tire and that my certificate wasnt valid from San Marcos even though I evidently paid for it. Bought the tire and was told an hour and a half. I said cant someone just put the new tire on the rim and Ill put it on my car? They said ok give us 25 minutes. Its been 30 minutes and they havent even started my tire.Horrible customer service!

Horrible service. For a simple flat repair they have you waiting for 2 hours!!! They should have an employee take care only of those types of jobs that will only take about 5-10 minutes to repair.

If you really like sitting in the waiting room of a tire store, this is the place for you. Took 3 plus hours to get tires changed. Then the next morning one of them was flat. Made an appointment, thinking it would be quicker (wrong), and took an hour and a half to fix the tpms on one rim that they messed up. Seriously, go to any other discount tire but this one.

Stay away from this place. Went in for a simple patch on a slow leak located in the middle of the thread and they came back saying that they cant fix it and I have to buy a new tire. The free tire repair its just a hustle to sequester your vehicle and force you to buy a new tire. They wouldnt even mount my spare tire.

Unfortunately the tires I needed were not available. I was going to have to wait approximately one week. So, I had one tire that was in bad condition changed for my full size spare until I could get what I needed. I did not place the order; I am going to another location. Overall my visit was quick, professional and polite.

Found tires I wanted had shopped around they had the best price had them in store made appointment was in as soon as I got there very professional the only negative when they told me the truck was ready gave it a walk around found a fastener was missing on the front drivers side somehow they missed it I am glad I checked because the same thing happened when I took my wife’s escape except I did not notice it right away spent over 1k and they forget a 5 dollar fastener same side driver front beside that everything went well just check the work whenever you get your vehicle serviced

I needed to have my tire pressure monitor system reset because I replaced the battery to my car and that made the whole system get thrown off. The tire pressure light would come on every time I would drive and it got irritating. So I stopped at Tipotex Chevrolet in Brownsville thinking it would be an easy fix since that is where I get my oil changes, only to find out that I would be charged $65.00 for labor work. I knew the whole thing would take less than 10 minutes. Of course I opted to not go through with the process and instead called Discount Tire on a whim. From the get go their customer service was exceptional and very welcoming over the phone. I explained to the gentleman the situation and he said they would help me out. I asked him if there was a fee and he jokingly said only a few Gatorades. I stopped by the next day at their tire pressure station, and the gentleman assisted me in resetting the system and pressurizing the tires to the correct PSI, of course at no charge at all. This is not the first time I visit Discount Tire since my purchase of a new set of tires two years ago. They offer the best prices in town and have exceptional customer service.

I was first helped by Adrian Padron and he was very kind and helpful. He made my experience of buying my first tire very quick, easy, and pleasant. The man who changed my tire was also very kind and pleasant. Ruben was the last person to help me and he was extremely kind and helpful and took the time as I was leaving to tell me about the benefits Discount Tire has to offer. I will definitely return in a year when I will need to replace all my tires and will recommend Discount Tire to my friends and family because of the great experience I had.

Made two payments on my card and still no rims they told me two weeks going on 3 months service is good but how can I pay for something I dont have not fare

My experience at Discount Tire in Brownsville was excellent. Went in today for tire rotation and balancing. Got me in right at my appointment time. Jose even remembered me from when I purchased the tires last year. They even helped me with a problem that didn’t involve my tires and steered me in the right direction for me to get additional service for my car. They even save the info on their systems so when I have went back I give them my info and everything they have serviced comes up. I have over 5 cars and we know to take them to discount for anything tire related. Their prices are very competitive. When we call over the phone they have patience and they do their best to inform us with the prices and brands.

03/03/20I am on a work schedule here in Brownsville, TX for 2 months and I reside in Kentucky. I noticed one morning my front tire was low on air and I was driving to the San Antonio airport the next day so I was planning to fill it with air and see if there is a slow leak. One of my clients suggested to go to Discount Tire here because they check the tire and fill it for free. Sounds good and I went to get it filled. When I returned back from weekend travels, my tire was low again so there was a slow leak needing repair.Here’s where the story gets good and for the most part, the pressure sales tactics and sales trap is the WARNING I am bringing to your attention today. So I had the Discount Tire Sales Rep check the tire while on the truck and they could not find the leak. I expected them to remove the tire and look for the leak and I offered to pay them to plug the leak, even though they said the repair was free of charge. I thought this was a little odd but hey, free repair. The repair service is free because they have no intention of repairing, but instead pushing you into a corner to buy a new tire from them.So the young salesman, Manuel, looked at the tires and then started to paint a picture of deception, with the intent of misleading me to purchasing new tires, even though I have over 60% tread life still remaining.Any marking or wear was considered to be unsafe in his opinion. I explained to just find the leak, repair it and I had no intention to buy any tires today, especially if not needed. Again, I offered to pay for the tire repair and again he refused saying it was free. He brought the truck into the bay, I wasn’t allowed in to watch them locate the leak. My truck was on the lift, and again they said that they were not able to find the leak and that it may be on the side wall or by the rim. Just to make sure, they were going to remove the tire to get a better look and he explained that if the tire was removed, and leak was unrepairable, that I would be REQUIRED to purchase a new tire from them. I didn’t understand why I had no option than to buy the tire. So to clarify, they could not find the leak with the spray bottle, then they wanted to make sure that I understood if they took the tire off and felt it was unsafe (by their standards) to repair, that they would not put the tire back on or allow me to do it on their property and I would have to get a tow truck to remove my truck from the premises or purchase a tire from them. Also, they would not put my spare on for me because they said that the spare tire was over 10 yrs old…even though the truck isn’t 10yrs old yet. Before I left KY, I had the spare checked for leaks and rot and made sure of the correct air pressure. The spare was in near new condition. I was not allowed to replace my own tire, on my own truck, on their property. So for any reason, if the salesperson wanted to sell a tire, they could determine that the tire was unsafe and leave the vehicle owner stranded with 3 wheels until the owner bought new tires or called a tow truck.This process was shady as hell. Management needs to be reprimanded for these tactics because I’m sure that’s what they are teaching their salesmen to do, lie and cheat to sell tires that the consumer doesn’t need. I looked online and found that Discount Tire had a 2.5 star rating. Low and behold, the 3rd review (09/30/19) I read was another consumer that had this exact same thing happen to him, except that he was caught in their web of lies and was stranded there because he allowed Discount Tire to remove the tire from his vehicle.I followed a co-worker’s advice and went to Kelly’s Used and New Tires. They lifted up my truck, removed the wheel, easily found the tire leak in the tread (easy repair), repaired it and put the tire back on. Good as new, for $8 and only 20 minutes of my time. This is what I asked for initially at Discount Tire but they lured me in with the free service…then tried every pressure sales pitch and lie to corner me into buying a new tire from them. H

Customer service is alive, and well in Brownsville Texas at Discount Tire. I work at an RV dealership in Washington State. I have a customer that had a wheel go bad on him on a trip through Texas. I called all sorts of places looking to see who could get this gentleman get back on the road. Mark at Discount tire stepped up, and got it all handled. Cheap price, good location, excellent courtesy but an hour to just change out one tire thats usually just takes 10 minutes at most.

Been going to discount tire for as long as its been here in Brownsville. Top notch customer service, they have always taken care of my flats, balancing and tire rotations. Even took cate of my daughters Highlander when it got a flat and cause i took it in ir was complementary. Hence why i keep coming back, plus they are all over the us and i used them in Dallas once.

Its so convenient to have tire pressure check. Clerks are so courteous despite the 100 degree weather.

Went in this morning and purchased two tires for a little over $200 for my Mazda5, everything went fine, got home and decided to take the motorcycle out for a spin and thought “oh I ought to check the air pressure on my tire” being that discount tire has a sign that says “free air” I thought, “close, practical and fast”, I pull up and an employee comes out and asks what the pressure is and starts filling the front tire, a few seconds later another employee comes out and says “we don’t do motorcycle tires” the guy filling it says “sure we do, it’s a tire” and continues filling it. A few seconds later as he is getting ready to fill the back the second employee comes back with a supervisor who says “ we don’t fill motorcycle tires because we don’t have the right tools, sorry”.Really, there are “special tools” to fill a motorcycle tire? Why not just say the truth like “it’s not our core business” or “ We don’t sell motorcycle tires so we don’t provide the air service” or “the free service is a hook to get new customers” or “our insurance doesn’t cover us in case of an accident”. But really ....“we don’t have the right tools”. Makes me question if they think their customers are morons.So I left with only the front tire checked and had to go all across town looking for a place with “special” air pump tools for motorcycles, luckily I found a special motorcycle gas station with special motorcycle air. Makes me regret getting my tires there as a matter of principal.

On my first visit I had my front left tire repaired at no cost. That’s right, Discount Tire fixes a punctured tire for free ( as long as the tire is not too worn down). Two weeks later I had to get four new tires and the price I paid for four Michelin tires was cheaper than the cheap tires my dealership was tried to sell me; plus I received free tire rotation and repair for the life of the tires. What more do you need to hear? Discount tire is a safe bet for quality, service and price.
