I went to the store at 3:17 and they said they would be closed for an hour for lunch, I said no problem and I gave them two hours (I ate as well) I come back to the store and it’s closed? Why would you still be closed but yet tell customers that you will be back in an hour? Won’t come back again.
This Games Workshop store has always been a pleasant visit. Staff are helpful without being aggressive or pushing product. Definitely recommend a visit if you are interested in Warhammer hobbying.
Good store. Knowledgeable staff. Up to date inventory.
Zach at Warhammer Brookline was extremely helpful and friendly - he proceeded drop what he was doing and teared open all of his recently delivered boxes to find me a copy of a Codex I needed. Really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back because of the service and atmosphere.
It was ok its a Gamesworkshop store
Run by an extremely nice guy who has been following all COVID rules very well. One of the few stores I feel safe picking up from.
Zach was extremely helpful. 100% would recommend.
*Please note this review is during a period of restrictions on retail businesses due to COVID-19Zach was helpful, knowledgeable and a considerate shopkeeper when I went in to pick up a specific boxed set. I had called ahead for availability and was assured that a box was set aside for when I came in.When I arrived, the storefront displayed attention to detail even with alterations made to accommodate restrictions due to the pandemic. Only 3 people are allowed in at any time, so 2 customers and a shopkeeper. Zach was very informative, answering questions on the state of the hobby from modeling to game-play. Zach went above and beyond, ensuring that I received a promotional coin when Id already crossed the street on my way out. I am sure that traffic is down but these days its revitalizing to be a patron and interact with someone who clearly takes pride in customer service and their business overall.I am very happy to see that Games Workshop is maintaining its retail presence showing an interest in the long-term customer experience and continuing to establish local hobbyist communities. I hope they match this by supporting their talent long term as well.
While its definately on the small side for big 4x6 sigmar/40k games, what it lacks in physical game spqce makes up with Awsome being an place to grab last minute quick pickups if you need paint or hobby finishing supplies, also great for ordering that special order piece youve been looking for, very convenient location!
Its Games Workshop, so if you know what you are getting into, its amazing. If you dont, you will be horrified by the pricing I am sure, but they make the best table top miniatures in the world, and its awesome to get to see the full line in the flesh.
The store itself is small and therefore limits the ammount of shelf stock, but the staff are friendly and it seems pretty constantly busy for the times I have been in. Seems like a good place to pickup a game. Parking is rather hit or miss, being street parking.
Pick up a primaris repulsor and some Smurf blue spray paint and necron brass
The store manager and both the on calls are incredibly friendly and welcoming and their attitude makes the store feel like a safe environment
Great friendly shop with manager who knows his stuff and great to deal with
A shadow of their former service. Honestly I had some average expectations and was hesitant but I suppose not everything lives up. Over cramped with what I was told was “30% of the full selection” I was there to really pick up the game and learn. But the service worker was aloof and only noticed us when their bent shelves were collapsing. He told me 3 times their products were online, so online I go. I can save the effort of coming back here again.
I visited the store today.. had a good experience there. Its been a long time since I played. So it was good to be there, staff was helpful and engaging.. definitely be back
This store is great. It keeps my 9 yr old from wanting to be on video games. Zach, the store manager is fantastic. He is always there to help and encourage even the younger kids who want to play.
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable
So much stuff here. I enjoyed shopping. And the people there are so friendly and helpful.
It has an extensive selection of books and minis, they have regularly scheduled games that can be joined, and the manager is really nice!
Great shop, beautiful models and very helpful ownership.
Been meaning to return to Warhammer after 15 year break. Zach was incredibly helpful and friendly. My friends and I are complete noobs and felt totally welcome. The store openly advertises their community and even hosts painting lessons. Great shop, great staff, will be back. Thanks, lads!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Regular events going on for painting and playing (see Facebook page). Great inventory of models and paints.
Staff was really nice and helpful in finding the model I was looking for.
Small store but good selection there. Employees very knowledgable .
Good place to play friendly casual games.
Great store. The staff are very friendly, happy to teach those new to the game
Adam (the manager) is the most helpful person Ive ever met
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
A nice gaming shop, with a welcoming community, and knowledgeable staff.
Big fan of GW games. Good place to pick up Age of Sigmar or Warhammer 40k. Legions of Nagash ftw
Here you can buy all of your warhammer playing needs, even a large selection of paints and brushes for model painting. The store tables for playing and painting, so your hobbying needs will be met.
Copy/Pasted from my review of the store on their Facebook page:Ive been darkening the door of Warhammer (Games Workshop) stores since the turn of the century and I can safely say that this is one of the better ones. Second to only the now extinct Battle Bunkers, Warhammer Brookline is an amazing place to hang out and experience the hobby we love.Review BreakdownSize (5 stars): While not a huge store, Warhammer Brookline is able to punch above its weight class by utilizing space efficiently. No, there probably wont be 5 games going on at once but the store can definitely handle 2 or 3 (maybe even 4 if corporate allowed them to utilize the two demo boards). Additionally, there is plenty of space to walk around without feeling claustrophobic.Ambience (5 stars): Lets get the music out of the way. If youve been to a Games Workshop store in the last decade then the music hasnt changed. Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean, and other epic fantasy themes are played over the airwaves to set the mood for the store. Lighting is phenomenal in the store. None of that soft white nonsense that plague some hobby stores. No, Warhammer Brookline sports impressive arrays of bright lights that are daylight (think ~5,000K) colored. This helps with color selection, photography, and just making the place feel alive and welcoming.Stock (4 stars): Ive never seen product fly off the shelves so fast. However, a few items could not be found and there were only two copies of each supplied Codex/rulebook. I expected Games Workshop to supply a bit more for the opening though they probably will rectify this by the Grand Opening ceremony in a month. Should not be an issue in the future.Game Boards (4 stars): Like all current Warhammer (Games Workshop) stores Warhammer Brookline uses the pre made modular boards the company released a long time ago. The boards are great for instant terrain and are paint to a high enough standard. Furthermore, the terrain supplied is of high quality (it is well painted Games Workshop terrain that can be bought in the store) and adds depth. No 5 star here probably because I grew up in the Battle Bunkers with custom boards with built in rivers and scenic effects. As such generic boards always get dinged in my book. However, the boards here still look amazing and are better than most boards you will find in third party hobby stores. I hope that Warhammer Brookline will seek to increase the variety of boards and terrain in the future.Staff (5 stars): If I could give 10 stars here, I would. The store manager is an amazing guy. Down to earth and not pushy about sales (yeah thats a shocker if the last time you visited a store was back in 2006). There is a general love of the hobby that emenates from him that just creates a welcoming and fun environment not many people can match. In an age where Customer First is drowned out by Profit Margin, the manager (its a one man show in case you were wondering) goes above and beyond to show that his player base matters. In all honesty, this is perhaps the most important aspect for any store and even more so with a Warhammer store. The company needs more people like the manager of Warhammer Brookline, Adam Pratt, if it hopes to return to its former glory.Overall Rating: 5 stars (I like to round up) - its FINALLY here, and boy was it worth the wait!
Zach was a huge help in getting is started.
Friendly staff
10/10
I was brought in and they did not agree to me
