Knowledgeable courteous staff. Best in class spice and seasoning products that rivals far more expensive suppliers. They always seem to source their products from best possible producers from the countries that are well known for those spices. They never advertise, they rely on word of mouth. They support home cooks with recipes and very informative online catalogs that are encyclopedias for spices and herbs by their own right. It is worth it to sign up for their email list to get recipes and promotions. Stores are clean, well lit and well organized, with nostalgic east India vibe. Many products are salt free. Their blends are well thought out with many unique to them. Prices are competitive and surprisingly lower than expected for the quality. It is easy to find cheaper quality and pricing in regular food stores, but for those who appreciate high quality seasonings, it is hard to beat. The shallot pepper seasoning is essential and they do not seem to promote it or highlight it, a perfect replacement for salt and pepper.

I made my usual purchase, California pepper. That stuff is awesome on many dishes!

A little hard to find at first, but well worth the effort. The people really know their spices and the woman who assisted me helped me put together a nifty collection for my cousin. All I had to mention was that my cousin in FL loves to cook fish and enjoys spicy dishes. I left armed with a great sturdy box for shipping and a super array of spice goodies. PLUS! I was given two large bottles of spices FREE! and a bumper sticker and a pin encouraging us to vote!If you want to improve your cooking or inspire another, stop at Penzeys. Aromatic and delightful.

Any Company that puts the betterment of our society on the whole above the race for the all mighty dollar profit --- has my attention. We will be restocking all of our spice rack with Penzeys Spice products. Now this, is the America I remember and love so deeply.

Great selection of spices, obviously, but I really cant say enough about how great the staff is. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable about their products. I sometimes ask a weirdly specific question as a half-joke, something I dont need to know but might be interesting, and I have never stumped a a Penzeys employee. Theyre like magic. Theres ample parking, including multiple accessible spots. Altogether a great place.

The lady that helped me was very informative on the spices and gave great suggestions as well as updating me on how to get recipes and signing up for emails for coupons on their website. I love this store.

That’s not very good customer service. They are not ever very busy and it it 10:15am on a Friday so there is no excuse.

The smell of spice greets you when you open the door and the selection is amazing.

The first thing you do when you walk in that store should be to just stop dead in your tracks, take a deep breath, and let the spice smells relax you completely. Then, wander around to get cooking ideas, and dont hold on to your wallet too tightly. I love Penzeys, and I love their humanitarian perspective.

I love going here. I do feel you pay a premium, but it is worth it. All the spices you could want. Also make sure you sign up for the email beforehand. They are always giving away stuff if you spend a certain amount. This is stuff they dont point out with the signs they have out.

Wonderful location. Beautiful, clean, staff was warm and inviting. The individual who helped us even considered our $29.95 purchase enough to qualify for the $30 min for the free gift. People may complain about Penzeys politics, but those politics are one of the reasons we LOVE them! A message of loving others is written in everything they do. Their staff always seems happy. Im on a low salt diet and they have a lot of alternatives that I can get that I love. Some are very low or no salt but still give me high flavor.

I was introduced to Penzeys Spices in the early 1980s while living in Madison. It was love at first sniff, all those glorious bottles filled with the unknown delights that I had yet to discover, heaven all in one store!Now almost 40 years later I love Penseys more than ever. It has been a joy to see one small shop that I related to in Shorewood grow to what it has now become; a bigger shop in my neighborhood in Brookfield with probably twice as many wondrous spices that I still get excited about! I also love the fact that the staff I come in contact with cook, like really, really cook and because of this I have been recently introduced to the delicious aroma of Indian cuisine coming from my own kitchen in the form of Authentic Chicken Tikka Masala and Murg Makhani, also known as Indian Butter Chicken. Oh my goodness, the complex flavors that made my tongue dance after the first taste of Chicken Tikka Masala had me hooked! All this loveliness came about as I mentioned to the sales lady, I did not care for curry, neither did she BUT her daughter and husband had introduced her to non-curry Indian food and now my family is a recipient of another cooks gracious sharing. Cooks do that! So if you are looking for fresh, everyday or out of the norm spices I highly recommend taking a trip up Janacek Road and turn left onto Janack Court and look on your left for Penzeys Spices. I took my Swiss daughter there last week while here on vacation and she was shocked to see such a display. You might not know this but in Europe there are no Chocolate Chips and Baking Soda is purchased at the Pharmacy in little packets that contain about a teaspoon full. How do they survive??

They are anti-Walker. I tried to bring my Walker in with me and they offered nothing but hateful rhetoric. Apparently they dont like people into the right spice blend, even applied conservatively. Alas, there is not a red pill to swallow in the entire store. They just try to push old, blue spices onto customers regardless of whether the customer wants it or not.I would not shop here, although the all-white neighborhood seems safe. They do a good job keeping out of minority neighborhoods which is appreciated by the clientele. Just dont bring your Walker.

Omgosh!!!!! I LOVE this place!!!!!! I cook a lot n we r big on spices. U can find like 5 different curries n 4 different Camillas, 4 different cinamons! What can I say there is almost no spice u cant find here. Its all alphabetized, easy to find. There has only been 1 rare spice I stumped them w n they never heard of it. No! Theres been 2. One exotic Indian spice n a strange one that I found in Wal-Mart under the herbs. One problem. I do alotta reading on organic NON GMO produced products. The NHI has now declared glyphosate/round up a probable carcinogen, n about everything is now raised w genetically modified plants that have been sprayed with Round up. Monsanto developed this product over 20 years ago. At the current time many lawsuits against Monsanto r in our courts causing varies diseases. My mom took 5 months in terrible suffering to die so I am trying to cut the odds down. Currently u can find alotta spices(& vitamins) at amazon, target n Meijer which r USDA ORGANIC NON GMO. Im hoping Penzeys begin to introduce these. I am willing to pay extra. U really dont use that much in each in reach recipe. One complaint: an employee dropped a bottle of spice on the floor, it shattered n cut my foot open pretty well. No apology, no nowitnessesthing. That was tacky. I had, I could have pressed charges, I didnt drop it. But no apology? Thinking back I should have handled it differently. A letter to corporate n pictures.
