I walked in just to check it out while my wife went next door. I found a great deal on a CZ S2 Orange that Ive been eyeing for months that I couldnt pass up and had a smooth transaction. My wife even agreed that it was a great deal. The owner and staff are hilarious and made my first experience a good one. Thanks, Gentlemen.

Just completed a transfer of two guns and purchased another from this business. The whole process was perfect. The owner took the time to answer my questions and listen to my concerns. I never felt rushed and while there, he greeted customers by name. Thats hard to find these days. Very knowledgeable staff and decent selection of firearms, under the circumstances. Still coming out of Covid so I was impressed with their selection. First class operation and Im glad to have a gun shop close. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend them to anybody in Brandon or anywhere else for that matter.

I’ve lived in Brandon on and off now for 17 years. I’ve been buying firearms and or ammo from them for the last 4 and I must say they are great. Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable, they have good prices on the product they carry. It’s great to see and be able to support some of the smaller outfits like this. Plus they tend to carry more of the niche items that can be harder to find. Jeff is also a distributor for a number of manufactures like Benelli. Sometimes you just want a nice place to talk guns and ask questions about what kind of rifle would be best for one hunt over another. There are a lot of places I can spend my money on firearms and ammo at and I choose Patriot Arms because they are friendly, have great prices, and know their products inside and out. I highly recommend making them your go to place for hunting or firearm products.

I had just left the gun range prior to coming here. I recently added a Law Tactical folder to my AR9 and went to test it out. Well after a few rounds the gun began to malfunction. I folded the brace back and the buffer spring shot across the range (very disappointing). I immediately began looking for a nearby gunsmith and came upon Patriot. I had 30 minutes to get there as they were closing soon. Made it there in 15 minutes and they repaired it in 15 minutes. Thank you guys.

Once I chose one, the entire gun was shown and explained to me. If I decide to buy another one, this is the place I will go and I encourage anyone looking for firearms to visit this gun store. I am a first-time firearm owner. Prior to my first purchase, I researched and tested many different firearms. Additionally, I visited several firearm stores throughout the Tampa Bay area and ultimately decided upon Patriot Arms & Outfitting. The Patriot Arms team was very helpful and patient while providing me with firearm and ownership knowledge. Shouts out to Jeff and Robert for being very nice to work with! You guys are very professional! After deciding on the firearm to purchase, they guided me along the firearm acquisition process from end-to-end. During my visit to pick up the firearm, Jeff was kind enough to take time going through the contents of the firearm case and demonstrating the basics of the firearm.Advice to Prospective First-time Buyers:(a) I recommend checking out Patriot Arms & Outfittings website first. I would not recommend purchasing a firearm through their website, rather use it as a tool to research, and a way to check their selection and prices. Also, I recommend experiencing the purchase end-to-end in person to meet their team and discuss the firearm(s) you are interested in purchasing.(b) Purchasing a firearm is a big deal and should be dealt with thoughtfulness and care. Dont rush your own process. Keep in mind, when purchasing a firearm in Hillsborough County, there is a 5-day waiting period. Thus, if you are thinking about purchasing from their website, there is no need to select the over-night shipping option thinking you could get the firearm next day.(c) During my time visiting other firearm stores, I found that in most cases, my firearm was not in stock and had to be ordered. This may not always be the case with your firearm selection - it might be in-store or it might have to be ordered.

They have a web site that is deceptive. You look up a gun, it says AVAILABLE and so you go to buy it at the store. Wow, I had bought a gun several years ago that was pretty painless. I was the only one in the store though and come to think of it I got passed around between 3 people. Anyways, I was just looking at the site to see if they bought or traded guns only to see the reviews. I always utilize reviews when available. If I went in and had even one of the bad experiences I see on here I couldnt forgive myself for being that ignorant. Thanks to all those being honest about their good and bad experiences. They are very helpful when making a decision! Hard to leave stars when I got turned off by the reviews and not an actual experience but Im not going to jump in a pool when others have told me there isnt any water. So, I marked two stars because I disliked the reviews.Follow up to owner:Well based on your response your saying previous customers who made purchases and not all reviews are reliable including this one, insinuates that any unfavorable reviews are taken in a negative manner and you, the owner get defensive and combative. The fact that you truly have not accepted any ownership for any poor review aside from blaming poor attitudes and poor and unethical customer service on a personal family matter that should not bleed over onto any customer speaks volumes about your core values. The customer is clearly not one of them.

I guess I dont really understand the negative reviews Ive read on here. I ordered a Thompson Triumph T/C Bone Collector from them. He showed me the retail price of the rifle and the quoted me a lower price. Very transparent. After I ordered it he made sure that I was educated on the types of rounds and pellets needed for my rifle since I have never shot muzzleloader before. He talked with me about his experience with his own Bone Collector and then shook my hand. I wish I would remember the gentlemans name but it was a great experience overall. He even said that they didnt have the primers I needed but that he would pick some up for me in Georgia when he went. It was a very good experience at Patriot and I would recommend anyone for this shop.

I had a Colt 1911 on order with these guys for 14 months before I asked for my money back. I got every excuse in the book as to why they couldnt get it. BUT...when I went to another shop having gotten my money back they had it for me in less than 1 month. There are only two possible explanations:1. They just didnt want to deliver it to me at the price I paid, i.e. they did not honor their deal. Or...2. They are totally incompetent at what they do--selling guns.Either way, thats my story. Too bad, I had liked them.

First time person in this shop, needed to swing by and get some ammunition and ask a few questions. The place had two people upfront and 2 customers in the store. I walk in and did a quick browse around and then walked up to the front counter. I waited at that counter looking like a lost puppy for a good 12+ minutes. After one customer left and left a person free, it was not until I flagged him down with a greeting that I got the very first response. This failure to acknowledge somebody in your store its failing to do good business at the most basic level. Anybody that deals with people is in a people business. I did 10 years in the customer service industry and I would fire somebody working for me if they made my customers feel so unwelcome. All you have to do is GREET somebody, even if your with a customer your voice can multitask. If they had taken the 15 seconds to greet me and ask what I need I could have found out they did not even have the ammunition I needed in stock and not waited the other 12 minutes to find out the bad news.Since the ammunition was a no go, I did ask my set of questions. One of them was about transfer fees so happens they charge double what the store down the road does, but quickly I was given the sales speech on why I should buy my weapon from them and not transfer it in from outside. Well now we go back to point#1 the people business. I am perfectly happy and capable of spending more money on something because I trust the source or like the company. But you didnt make me feel happy nor give me any reason to like you, the reason to buy from you was for warranty? But last I check any new weapon comes with a warranty from the manufacture so I feel that point was pretty invalid. What about not having the ammunition in stock, I asked when it will be back in. All the time, every week but not a actual for certain answer. I made a clear broadcast that I am buying a new weapon in the next 2 weeks, you just gave me the sales pitch on why I should buy it from you, and here I am saying I need this ammunition. A good customer service/sales person could have taken that chance to build some loyalty. How about taking my name and phone number and offering to call me when its in stock? That would have been awesome, that would have been the kind of thing I want from a local shop, the kind of thing that says they are worth the extra money for the service and kindness but I had no such offer I was pretty much told to stop back by at a later time and hope that its in.Even if you really didnt like me, nor care thats still just a good way to secure some future business. As now I am most likely just to go buy it somewhere else and I was obviously off put enough with my visit to write this review.Bottom line, the place looks to be a very capable smith/shop. They have a good selection of arms and accessories but they need some better management, a new attitude about how important the customer is as you make tons more money by building loyalty rather than relying on people just throwing money at you because you have what they need.Somebody will get your business because they reach out after it and make people feel welcome. If I want the value Ill get it online, if I go local I want that warm your welcome here and we care feel and Patriot Arms was severely lacking that vibe thus I am sharing that opinion and a very fitting 2/5 star rating.

Way over priced! I purchased a lower receiver for $150 not a big deal. Come to find out I get home and do a lil research turns out that the receiver they sold sells for $60 to $80 online. Thats a profit of anywhere from $90 to $70.When I go back for a refund they charged me a 25% restock fee on an item that I never had do to the 3 day hold. So in the end they still came out winning with $35 of my money on something that I never had to begin with. Stay away from this place!!! Save yourself the headache.

Patriot firearms is way overpriced and the service staff look at you like your stupid if you ask a question. I paid them to boresight a new rifle and scope, and when I picked up the gun, the scope was loose. Yet they said they boresighted the gun, which if they had was now useless since the scope was loose. Didnt offer any way to fix it or take any responsibility, yet still expected me to pay. So, I paid and have yet to return. If I ran out of ammo or needed any accessories and they were the only store open, I would just go without. Stay away from these crooks.

Review №54

Stay away from this place. DO NOT CONSIGN GUNS . Not trustworthy and partners Jeff and other owner obviously do not communicate with one another. I consigned three guns with them for sale. They were recommended by a very respected business person in Brandon and I knew Jeff was associated with the Brandon Foundation. Checked in one month after consigning the guns and noticed one was missing from the floor. I asked about it and was told it had just been sold. They had to wait for three day wait period. I thought that was great. Went back in next day to see what the gun sold for as I had forgot to ask the previous day. Jeff pulled out his sale log and showed me it sold for $600.00. Great! I was only asking $550.00. They got me an extra $50.00 or so I thought. I asked Jeff when check would be sent. I was told the end of the month. I went along with it though I checked my contract and it stated cash payments payed immediately, checks paid within 48 hours of check clearing the bank. It took several weeks for me to get paid and my comission check was based off a $550.00 sale. Their contract states they keep 25% of the final selling price not asking price. When I questioned this, they mysteriously could not locate the paperwork to show me the proof of sale with the date sold and amount paid. The other owner, the bald guy tells me they would not sell a gun for more than asking price. I told him Jeff showed me the the sales log showing a $600.00 purchase price. Response given back, Jeff should not have shown me this log as it is confidential info. Too late for that as it was already done. He then tries to tell me he knows nothing of this situation. I dealt with him three times about this gun. Each time he tells me this is the first time he heard of the issue. If I called, answer was, I will call you back. Never got a call back. Eventually after going to the shop I was told they need to research it as the extra $50.00 may have been for ammo or services. Again, I was told they do not sell guns above asking price. I inquired about a muzzleloader that I consigned that was no longer on the floor. It had been off the floor for more than a week. I inquired about my payment for this as there is no waiting period on muzzleloaders and this time I pointed out there time line on the contract for payment. He payed me right there out of the till. I took my other gun that had not sold off consignment. I questioned why the gun never had a price tag on the gun. I was told we never put prices on consigned guns. We always ask for a higher number than the asking price so that we have wiggle room to negotiate the price to get to the consignors asking price. I thought you never sold guns for more than asking price. So if they give a price and the buyer says yes, my guess is they pocket the money, add to the bottom line and no one knows any better. Consignor gets what he wants and they get to pocket some extra cash. I would have thought everything was great if I had not been shown a sales slip showing the gun sold for $600.00. Nearly six months later and they still have never provided me proof of sale price and date sold. I have sold guns in a shop before. This is very easy information to provide to a customer when you are on the up and up. When you are trying to hide something, this info all the sudden becomes very hard to find. My opinion is these guys are either dishonest or inept. Either way, I would not want or recomend anyone to do business with them. I believe they sell your guns for more than asking price and then keep the money. I will gladly retract this statement of opinion if they would ever provide me proof of the sale of my gun. I want to see a copy of the original receipt with any confidential info blocked out. I have done it for others in my business past. It is quite easy to do if you are on the up and up.
