Lost a tuning peg part and had a buddy stop in on his way up to Island Park with just some photos. Guys were more than helpful: didn’t have the part but gave him a “maybe” and offered some other stores and options. I bought my first Martin from these folks back in the early 2000s, and the service just continues to be amazing. I’ll drive the extra hour anytime. Keep doing what y’all do!

By far the best store in Montana. Not only do they have exactly what you want, their staff is just superb. With phone calls, they respond quickly and efficiently. Didnt get to come into the store, but ordered online. I had seen in an Instagram story there was a sick Taylor from 99 and it was too good of a deal to pass up. I called immediately and was greeted warmly by a fellow named Tyler, and he helped set me up to purchase it and was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout the multiple conversations we had about that guitar. It safely arrived today, packed better than any guitar Ive ever purchased, and with brand new strings. Cool store with good selection. I heard about itheir store when I went to NAMM a few summers ago and thought it would be cool to check out when I was in town.However, when I went to their ‘vault room’ I was very unimpressed. Don’t get me wrong, I love custom-shop guitars, I own several guitars of them myself, but with the employee breathing down my neck, you would have thought they had original and historic pieces in there.I saw a guitar in their vault that I had been looking to pull the trigger on for a while! With Montana not having sales tax, I figured now would be the best time (I am from Nebraska). It was a limited run, and my home store couldn’t get it in. I asked if I could play the guitar and the employee said “we only let people who intend to purchase play these guitars”. In my Six years of selling and reviewing guitars for my customers, I have never been told that. I am young and we were just at glacier so I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. I felt profiled and demeaned as a player for this reason (I hadn’t touched anything, he hadnt heard me play). I was considering buying a $4,000 guitar from ‘The Music Villa’. Now I wouldn’t buy a pick.As someone who sold guitars for many years, you don’t judge your customers. Music is for everyone, not just the social elite. It’s not just for the wealthy, but also the layman. Be rude to me all you want, you’re not going to make me stop loving music, I’m a professional musician. But if they did it to me, they did it to a kid that needed music, and they crushed his soul because he doesn’t “look like he is going to purchase”.

I am extremely happy with my experience at Music Villa. A Rickenbacker 660 is not easy to find on the shelf. And Bozeman is a long way from my home in Florida. The 2017 Jetglo they posted was exactly what I wanted. After reading the history of Music Villa and speaking to Abel, I was confident that I could make the purchase without worry. I spoke to Paul later during the transaction; the owner and employees are all about providing great instruments in a fair manner. A very enjoyable purchase and visit to the best guitar store in Montana. They have a huge selection I could look for hours. I have been to Guitar Center before and although they have a good selection it is not even close to being as charming and comfortable as Music Villa. Local owners and local feel make this a great place to visit, even if youre just a beginner like me.

I purchased a custom short scale Martin HD-28 from Music Villa. This was my first time buying a guitar online. Music Villa setup the guitar perfectly with low action just exactly like I requested and the guitar arrived without a scratch via UPS. This short scale HD-28 is even better than I had hoped for. I’m 100% satisfied.

My Sales Engineer was Kenny. He was awesome, patient, helpful and interested in my needs and preferences. He recommended a great pickup to install in my new guitar and Alan the guitar tech installed it within 1 hour and threw in a strap button at no cost. The Cordoba C7 was the perfect guitar for my needs. While waiting for the install, Blaze, the acoustic guitar specialist spent quite a bit of time showing me the Martins, Taylors and Gibsons and explaining the product lines in depth. The Music Villa Staff are passionate about what they do and the shop itself is one of the best in the Country. Worth the drive down from Great Falls Montana. Im extremely satisfied and impressed.

The new stuff can be a bit pricey, but they also dont have power over that as much as say, guitar center. With that said, I gave them 5 stars on customer service, selection and, here it is....they have the best prices on used gear since I have lived in NY. With that said...keep it a secret 🤫

Theyve got a great selection, including lots of one-of-a-kind guitars from the Gibson factory down the street that you cant get anywhere else. But what really sets Music Villa apart is the customer service. They take care of you even after theyve got your money. Heres how:I ordered a Gibson acoustic over the phone from Music Villa and, because I live in a state hundreds of miles away, wasnt able to play it before buying. The guitar had been discontinued and Music Villa had one of the very last ones made. They took the time to get me photos and even a video of the guitar being played so I could see and hear it before buying.So, I buy the guitar and it arrives, but there are a couple small issues with it. Nothing that affected how it sounded or played, just a couple cosmetic fit-and-finish things that were probably overlooked before it even left the factory. But if Im dropping guitar-for-life money, I want it to be as close to perfect as possible. Anyway, I call Music Villa and let them know, and they ask me, What can we do to make it right? And then they made it right.They were able to put me in contact with a master luthier in my area who was able to take care of the issues, avoiding the need for me to ship the guitar back to Music Villa in the dead of winter, and Gibsons warranty covered the work.Ordering an instrument before seeing/playing it was not my preference, but I would absolutely feel comfortable doing so from Music Villa again because of how well they took care of me. I was visiting the area from the Carolinas and stopped by the store to play a few of the acoustic guitars. The website looked like they had a good selection and I was not disappointed. They had all the popular models of the Taylor, Martin, and Gibson lines along with some older vintage guitars. The staff were very inviting and instead of high pressure sales, they were perfectly content just talking guitar. It was a real pleasure and if I were in the market to buy, I would not hesitate to allow these fine folks to help with the purchase.

For quite a while, I looked for a Deering parlor banjo in my area and online and could not find one. I have purchased two Taylor Guitars here and the service is excellent. They answered all my ignorant beginner questions. They will do consignment, trade ins and financing. The prices are better or equal to online prices from what I have seen plus you can sit and play in a comfortable environment before making a decision. I also got one of my guitars restrung there and had them lower the action and now its easier to play. I will be back for more stuff and services.

I did not overpay, they offer the same deals that you find online.. I was able check out different cymbals and rides before I bought a set. The person helping me went Way Beyond what they had to do, come to find out it was the owner. His employees reflect the same quality.

Music Villa is one of the best music stores I have ever been to. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and great at making sure you get what you want. I have purchased six guitars from here and each experience was fantastic. They also have a great guitar tech (Nate). They have a wide range of locally made acoustic guitars from Gibson. Their selection of Martin acoustics is huge. And they are one of the few PRS dealers in the US. Even when they haven’t had the specific item in stock that I want they are super quick to special order it in for you.

Travel around the country a bit and always hit up any guitar shop I cross. All I can say is the people of Bozeman are very fortunate. Tremendous inventory and a sales staff who check their egos at the door. One of the best shops Ive ever visited.

Ive been watching these guys on the internet for years now. I had wanted a Hummingbird my whole life. About a year ago, I hatched a plan for the bird (get it, birds come from eggs) and began communicating with the owner, Paul, over e-mail.All that planning, I drove from North Dakota to Bozeman, MT, my Jeep absolutely full of trade-ins. I got there, and all the staff were super friendly. (I wish I could have spent more time there browsing and interacting.) I unloaded. Paul was busy busy, but he still took time out of his frantic day to serve me personally.Music Villa is a top-notch, small business, community-oriented and extremely customer-friendly. They gave me such a fantastic deal. Most stores will give you a percentage of fair market value for trade-ins. This is what I was expecting. Instead, Paul gave me what he thought he could sell each item for. I ended up getting way more than I thought I would, and I traded straight up for a 2016 Gibson Hummingbird Vintage, which is not a cheap guitar!Thanks to my trade-ins, and thanks to Paul and Music Villa, I got the best guitar Ive ever played in my life, and I could not be happier. I feel like I got a fantastic deal. He explained to me that hell make out fine on it, because he obviously pays less for the new guitars than he sells them for. He said once he gets all my old gear inventoried (which sounds like it takes forever and is a pain), he will be fine, and thats how he was able to give me what hed sell them for. I really appreciate it. He was just so great to deal with, so honest. He did not try to talk me into anything or haggle me or pull the wool over my eyes. He dealt with me kindly, gently and fairly.The whole experience is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Im so thankful to Music Villa!

No other store that Ive been into has the friendly vibe and great selection of the MV. The family-run store is a place where everybody knows my name and makes me feel welcome even if I am not buying anything that day. They know how important it is to seed the dream of future acquisitions. The webisodes are hilarious and the new virtual store tour on Google Maps is engaging. You can check out the store for yourself, but its best to stop in and meet the staff. They will connect you with your musical goals.
