I really wanted to support this small business so I ordered 6 cu. yd. of eco grow compost (with delivery, just shy of $400). I didnt realize I was getting compost from a municipal waste stream. The load was FILLED with micro-trash, including broken glass. Bummer for aesthetics and bare feet on the lawn! No one there warned me of the downsides of this product. I wouldnt order it again. Other than that, the transaction was fine and the delivery was on time.

We opted for the humus instead of regular mulch because it is a finer material. Very pleased with the product and same day delivery.

I truly appreciate the good old fashion down-home customer service where they treated us like old friends. Brad, the owner, is an expert, very willing to help, and is one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life. This place is a gift to this community.

I urgently needed a very small amount of soil and it happened to be 4:30 on Friday, so I called ahead to make sure theyd still be open and could sell small amounts of planters mix. I did NOT think to ask if they take credit cards. So I drove up all in a hurry right before closing and with no cash on me, but they knew I urgently wanted the dirt so they told me to take it and come back with money the next day! Ive never encountered something like that, even for $3 worth of soil. I mean, Im not recommending anyone go up there without cash, and I was super glad I found enough bills and quarters in my car because the trip back up would have been a hassle, but I appreciated the offer immensely. They were very nice to me.

Their driver is among the best in the world at doing his job which includes expertly pouring gravel on mountain driveways. My experience with their customer service, even when I have questions, is that they are willing to help out and give good advice. Neat place and pros at doing what they do.

Been buying from Lee Hill for years. Its a perfect place to get bulk material. Dont let the negative reviews stop you from shopping here. A small owner operated business thats been in town forever.

Weve been customers for years. I find them friendly an great to work with. Johns fantastic at getting that big truck up our driveway, which is no small feat! Just ordered a load of crushed asphalt from them today. So thats 3X Ive ordered from them this summer alone.

Shovel various types of gravel and fill. Good prices. Bring your own bucket. Some fantastic old machinery in the yard as well.

I was so excited to find Lee Hill Peat. I bought 3 cubic cards of great soil for my raised beds and it was delivered a couple hours later. The soil is fantastic, and I love being able to support a local business like this one.

Very friendly warm people. I cant understand some of the reviews. The only downside is they dont go to Coal Creek Canyon. But they do go to the house in Nederland. I will always buy all my landscaping material from them at least for the properties they deliver to.

I had to yell at the guy (the owner of the business) to get him stop dumping long enough for me to put a couple of sheets of plywood down. As soon as he hit the spot he was just going to dump it out and leave. Maybe i shouldnt have prepaid.The product was supposed to be 3/4 river rock. But it wasnt sorted. There was everything from sand to 3/4 stones in the mix and there was a lot of small gravel less than 1/4. That was yesterday. Today I bought some more from Pioneer Sand company in Boulder and their river rock was sorted. It was all greater than 1/4 and up to 3/4. So Lee Hill Peats river rock wont drain well.This backing up and dumping without talking is a bit aggressive and disrespectful.So: Bad product and jaded service. Thats my take.

Limited supply but great and friendly service.

Ordered 6 yards of dirt. They said it had some rocks - I was thinking gravel rocks. When they dumped it, much of the material was boulders up to 1 foot in diameter which was totally unusable for our application. I asked if he could take it back and even said Id pay a small fee to have it removed. His (the owners) take was that it was tough luck and that it was my problem to deal with. I never once raised my voice or said a bad word. I tried calling him and he hung up on me. Its been some time since Ive experienced customer service that was this poor!

Don’t take cards of any kind and no atm. I don’t care if you charge extra for using a credit card, I just want the f***ing option. Not very nice either.

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience to Meg. Condescending and rude. Not the best place to go for a small order.

Unfortunately Lee Hill Peat is very conveniently located in town but their customer service is terrible. They are rude and condescending. If you do need to use their services you should probably bring a man to do the talking because as a women you are meant to stay in the kitchen.

Not retail. They just ignore you until you go away.

I was nearly run off the road by a Lee Hill Peat driver. When I got home I called Lee Hill Peat. The driver actually answered the call and started yelling at me. He said I was driving too slowly!
