Appreciate Sephora in Boulder!. This review is for the staff. Ive been going here since I moved to Colorado a few years back. The staff is always welcoming and eager to help.Maya has always been encouraging, knowledgable and supportive with my inquiries and desire to learn more about health and beauty. To add context, I dont wear make up so I mainly go to Sephora to pick my up refills for my skincare routine. I have seeing an esthetician consistently for the last 13 years and the staff is very knowledgable and provides recommendations on my skin care needs.Today I walked in looking for make-up. I usually dont wear make up so the front half of the store is a mystery. Dante. (sp- sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) not only gave me the attention I needed (I need a lot of help when it comes to make-up) they absolutely listened and understood my needs and gave me great recommendations. Best customer service ever!As someone who is an adult and unfamiliar with make-up, not only did they give me a place to start but encouraged me to trust my intuition to pick out products. As somewhere who doesnt wear make-up, that part of the store can seem pretty intimidating to me. They totally encouraged me to trust myself and pick out products that I felt called to- while checking back in with me to see how I was doing and how they can help. At times there were other staff that checked in with me and made me feel comfortable why offering suggestions.I appreciate the staff at Sephora Boulder.. Welcoming, Encouraging and Accepting. Kudos to you!
I was here on a not too busy Thursday morning. All the employees are standing at the door. They greet people but then they go back to what seems to be an ongoing party. They are just talking. The store is filthy. The top of the perfume bottles is covered in dust. They have a 20% off foundation sale. I could have used some help finding the right color. The one I wanted wasnt in stock. Not much is in stock, in fact, lots of empty places. I tend to shop online for most my Sephora purchases, but foundation is hard to get the right color of. Anyhow, an employee showed me where the brand I was interested in was, then went back to continue chatting with her coworkers, wasnt really interested in helping. Its VERY uncomfortable breaking up an ongoing conversation between a handful employees. So I did not. At the checkout, the employee forgot that the item was on sale,I had to remind her, never offered any samples, had a hard time looking up my credit card rewards too. Basically, non of this experience was worthwhile going into a brick and mortar store to, and seriously, someone needs to do some cleaning and restocking in here. This used to be a very nice Sephora location to visit with great customer service. Not today. This visit does not warrant any return from me, or any recommendation.
I do not frequent places like this, so I was a bit naive to the process. I came here to take advantage of a special offer where you get a free makeup session with the purchase of at least $50 worth of makeup. I was charged for the makeup session anyway. I attempted to call the store to dispute the charge, but nobody answered the phone in the middle of the day. I then called the corporate office, but was told thats because each store kinda does their own thing. So, I guess that means Sephora doesnt honor their own specials. Buyer beware. Also, the high end foundation i bought is horrible. Thick and cakey and the color they matched me to makes me look jaundiced. Not a good experience at all. Id love to talk to the store manager, but I cant get hold of anyone.
Worst experience ever I had in here. Compared to other branches, their customer service is worst and unkind. The salesperson in counter yelled at me because I was asking what is bday reward?!
WOW. Im impressed by how poorly I was treated today. There was an advertised promotion in the store and when I made a qualifying purchase I was informed they were out of the gifts (32$ value). One of the managers came over and promised to find a way to honor the promotion, said she would put something together and walked away. I went ahead with my purchase and waited for her to return. After a few minutes I realized she was at the front of the store with another manager chatting. I stared to walk over and one of the managers sneered and told me to have a good day. Irritated, I went to my car and called a couple other stores. Sure enough another location had what I was after and put it on hold... just like any retail store should. Instead they chose to be rude and lose a longtime customer.Update: Sure enough the downtown Denver location honored the promotion and the service there was gracious and apologized for the poor treatment in Boulder. BONUS: The downtown Denver store is full of beautiful faces from a variety of walks in life. Worth the drive from now on.
This store has been ok in the past, but I havent gone in in probably 2 years. Maybe new management, but I was literally 1 minute late (7:01) and the woman said were closed and that all my people have gone home already (while 4 employees were standing in the room waiting on people). The door wasnt locked and this woman still wouldnt sell me something I had in my hand as a sample that she could have walked over and grabbed for me. Bad business strategy. Youve lost my business.
I came into this sephora about a week ago and had an unpleasant experience. One lady was super nice and helped me with a sample. I was with my friend and we were wearing t-shirts and some jeans with no makeup. They came up to us SEVEN times in the span of 15 minutes we were there. I felt like they thought we would take something and was uncomfortable. I ended up getting fed up with my friend and left
I was having a rough day and in the two minutes it took to process my order Maya completely turned my day around. She was super sweet and she changed my entire mood. I wish there were more people like her out there! Sephora is also doing a great job enforcing social distancing and mask wearing. I felt safe and comfortable shopping here.
⭐️ Great customer service from Giselle 🙂
Best eyeliner ever!!
So I absolutely love this store like no other, and have never had an unpleasant experience until yesterday. I do accept that I tested the perfume because I forgot, and was about to make a purchase of $130. This (new) employee runs towards me and lets me know that I am unable to touch them, which I did apologized for. However, he brings me a basket and then proceeds to follow me around the store, I was wearing a backpack and dont necessarily know if it was because he thought I was going to steal something or what. I had 4 items in my basket at the end of my trip which was a quick visit since I had someone following me around and making me feel uncomfortable the whole time. Im not really sure if him following me around had to do with the fact that I have a medium complexion or what, but it was by far the most uncomfortable visit I have ever had at a store. --- I do want to point out that the majority of the personal do know me by my first name, and have always been incredibly nice and amazing with me.
Friendly and helpful staff. I wasnt upsold on anything and the beauty advisor worked with me to find the perfect items. Store was clean and it was clear that they took the COIVD precautions very seriously. I will return to this location in the future.
Good cosmetics store. The clerks here are nice. The only complaint I have is they wont leave you alone for more than 5 seconds and are aggressively ask you if you need help.
Similarly to others, I was not informed that we arent able to use sample testers– which shouldnt be out on display anyway due to COVID-19 precautions, and an older woman with short brown hair (with bangs) and glasses came up and yelled at me for using it. I apologized right away and told her I genuinely didnt know, as I wasnt informed of this new protocol upon entering the store. Instead of accepting my apology and moving on, she continued to yell at me and tried to pick fight with me (someone literally 40 years younger than her age); their GOAL at this location is to publicly embarrass you. I immediately exited the store blown away by the sheer rudeness of this worker. Not to mention my friends and I were followed around the store the entirety of our 10 minute visit (Im sure just to find another customer they could yell at for something they put on display to use in the first place). Heres an idea Sephora– read your reviews, MAKE CHANGES, and hire nicer people? As someone who has worked in customer service the past 6 years I am extremely disappointed in this management and will advise all my friends in Boulder to never shop here.
I went here today and I had a terrible experience. Maybe its because of Covid restrictions but I felt hurt, embarrassed and disrespected. I put a tester on my hand and the manager immediately found me and told me I was told I cant do that. Of course I apologized but I was blown away how terrible and embarrassed I felt afterwards. From the reviews its seems common for customers to be using the testers and for you to find them then embarrass them. Its your responsibility to REMOVE THE TESTERS during Covid if you dont want them used and if you KNOW people use them. Then you wont have to follow the customers around embarrassing them. Then i was at the cashier and she emphatically tells me to stand 6 feet back even though there was no obvious line on where I am supposed to stand. Next time I will buy products at Macys.
Great experience picking up a gift for my wife. The manager Christine went above and beyond to help me out. Her assistance saved me a significant amount of time.
Dont touch the perfume! Thanks Covid. 10 steps just to smell the perfume. Thanks, but no thanks. Other than that, it was a nice store, employees kind of act stuck up though.
Worst experience at this location. The new manager running this location could use some training. I shop at Sephora often as I am a licensed cosmetologist/ make up artist and have been in the store since COVID. I have never been so uncomfortable from the time I walked in the staff was super pushy . I understand saying a brief comment like have you stopped in since new regulations. But literally I had 6 staff members come up to me in less then 3 min time frame saying I can’t touch, Smell, try on samples. Which I knew!!! One time is enough!!! It was a complete turn off I ran out of there. I get rules regulations precautions but communicate with eachother see who you have already approached it’s too much and not pleasant. I found it to be annoying and unprofessional. Sephora do you want people to spend money? I will never shop this location for my business again!
I recently when into Sephora in 29th street mall and have never been treated more rudely in my life. I have shopped at many other Sephoras and never been talked to or treated as such. If you dont want people to touch anything put up signs and also if you dont want items touched then put the testers away from the public. I will never and I mean never step foot in this particular Sephora again and I have already told several of my friends who shop here to stay away. as well Very poor management who will continue to lose customers with the lack of correct training, especially to long time customers. I go to Ulta in Longmont and they are wonderful and much more customer focused.
Ive had some poor experiences with Sephora in the past but this location comes through! I am always greeted promptly and know that someone is around to help if I am trying to locate a product or have questions about the products. Always stocked well and have received great recommendations each time I have visited.
Store after being closed for Covid has not been cleaned (dirty floors & dusty displays)?! Customers need to wear a mask but staff is not keeping 6ft from customers or each other. Everyone including staff need to follow the rules.
Visited just for an online return. Service was great and waited for me to check on something via phone.
I wasn’t aware that Sephora made a change to their return policy. I bought a product 6 days after they changed it (nobody informed me it changed). I went to return the product after my dermatologist recommended I stop using it..turns out I was 7 days late for their new return policy. I live 30 minutes away from Sephora, so I brought it when I could. There was no effort to rectify the situation.I will be shopping elsewhere unfortunately.
The staff is always so friendly and helpful.
I love Sephora generally. But, I came to this store for my complimentary makeover after reaching rouge status and it was just awful.Online, it says that at a makeover the artist will discuss skincare for your skin type and what not. I never received that consultation or any advice. All he did was use a device that said my skin was really dry. (Duh it’s Colorado). No tips on good products for the dry skin. Before beginning the makeup, I told him I really wanted a natural look, that I never wear foundation, and that i was just here to get some expert advice on how to do my makeup better, such as eyebrows or basic contouring. He proceeded to CAKE on the foundation. Used zero blush or color on my cheeks and lips. Caked on one shade of eye shadow, dark black eyeliner, and thick mascara. And then actually expected me to buy the products he used.It was horrible. I looked dead as there was no color on my face.I literally went straight home and washed my face.
The employees at this sephora are some of the most awful I have ever encountered. I asked someone for help and this girl was visibly drunk and I could smell alcohol on her. For it to be acceptable for employees to come into work VISIBLY DRUNK and therefore not being able to help customers due to this is unacceptable. I’ve loved Sephora in the past, but now I wonder if this is a good place to shop from.
Update: The shade of foundation I was recommended was too light so I went back and worked with another artist. I ended up being matched around 4 shades darker...seems like Sephora is REALLY lacking in teaching their employees a basic curriculum to work with clients.I scheduled a makeover several days in advance online. I was so excited! I wrote a paragraph on what I was looking for (and included the several things I intended to buy). When I arrived, no one had read my paragraph. Which is fine I guess, it just would have been helpful I thought. Both Mia and Christine are lovely. But I am concerned that Sephora doesnt train their employees to know a basic, base layer of information. It seemed like there was a big learning curve between the two of those sweet ladies. Creative freedom is great, but a general understanding of how products work together show be provided in training to these employees before they work on clients. Besides those two things, it was a lovely experience.
Was visiting Colorado and scheduled a custom makeover. Taylor was great! She was very knowledgeable about the products and my makeup was flawless! Wonderful experience
Online order!!!!! I ordered a curling iron. Supposed to deliver 3-5 bossiness day . But it wasn’t I kip calling them they said it be next day then the next day it still haven’t got here. Then they said it on next day . i haven’t restive it yet it being 8 days . I am a cametologest I have a wedding to do today that I need that curling iron and I don’t have it on time that it supposed to be here. Costumer serves is no help or they manegers don’t help . Don’t use castumer support line they don’t help!!!!
Nice but wish they had better customer service. Was so packed cudnt get any help had to keep looking around until I found what I went there for.
The gals here were very helpful. Was on an errand for the wife and they got me set up with the correct makeup that my wife was needing.
The manager (Sarah) was very unhelpful on a return of a broken eye pencil. She said that since they stopped selling the item they didnt have to replace it. Argumentative and rude. Wont be coming back. I called Sephora and they replaced no problem. Major hassle.
The selection is amazing and the staff are so kind and helpful.
This store has stuck up people working here.I came to this particular store and was treated like a second class citizen by a young woman with bleached blonde broken hair and her arms riddled with tattoos, like she has any room to treat me like this store was too good for me. I felt like Julia Roberts in that movie pretty woman when the store clerk treats her like she cant afford anything in that store. Big mistake, big. Because I spend lots of money at Sephora but will not spend a cent at this store since the help thinks they are too cool to provide polite and friendly service.
Sephora has the most helpful staff if youre looking for something specific. I went in looking to replace my current eye makeup remover and the salesperson was able to recommend 4 different items based on my requirements, all different price points. This is also the only place Ive found that sells the Murad skin care line.
The staff at this Sephora is always super sweet and happy to help! Ive even had a manager spend quite a bit of time helping me pick out a setting powder. And considering the size of the store they actually have a great selection, they even got Huda Beauty recently!!
Get woke go broke.
Overstaffed and unfriendly.
Ive had nothing but great experiences at this Sephora. I came in 2 months after my birthday and they had no problem giving me my late beauty insider gift! Also i went in last week with my mom and employee Zade (shoutout hes incredible!) helped her find the perfect foundation for her skin and was super fun to be around and extremely helpful.
.I don’t ever leave reviews, but because this has happened every time I got to this store and is super inconvenient for customers I feel the need to. This store is always out of everything and not just popular/new items. For example, today they were out of multiple products I wanted, in addition to normal size bags and any VIB point gifts. I don’t know how Sephora stores order and if it’s a coprerate thing or the managers, but this is really annoying. I could order the products online, but sometimes I want to swatch them in person before I make a purchase. Every employee I’ve interacted with here has been decently pleasant. They arent overly helpful, but I like shopping in peace so I don’t mind. It’s the lack of items stocked here that keeps me from purchasing the amount I would.
Horrible manager, asked a simple question about a product and she had an attitude. She must hate her life, I dont blame her, but gtfo of retail then.
The staff was kind and compassionate. I had a sudden migraine hit me and I had to sit down in the store and basically cry, but the staff offered water, asked how they could help, and were very kind.
A+ customer service. Even when busy the employees go out of their way to help you find exactly what you need.
Worst customer service ever.
Christine is very sweet and helped me find everything I needed. Thank you christine!!
The staff is great! They always remember me and help me find the perfect products
Very helpful employees. Especially if you go there during evenings:)
I have lived in Boulder for years and I try to give this store a chance, but the staff at the Boulder store is so stuck up and rude. They do not care to help you whatsoever. This is NOT what Boulder is about!!! Customer service and treating people with a huge heart is what Boulder is about!! Treat people with respect and smile at your customers.
Great customer service. Staff know whats up.
As an avid online shopper, I usually stay away from the busy Sephora shops, but when the delivery service lost my package I called this Sephora to explain the dilemma and ask for samples of the things I had ordered. The manager was super helpful and had them ready and waiting for me. There was also a really helpful makeup specialist that went through and explained all of benefits of different foundations- which was what I was on the hunt for. Thanks Sephora! I really appreciate your service and kindness!!! Will definitely be back to this location!
Ive been to this Sephora quite often as it is five minutes away from me. Never had a bad experience and the staff is always nice. But about a week ago I was looking to buy a newly released palette (esperanza palette by Kat Von D). I checked the availability at this location on the website with my phone. They were supposed to have it, but when I went, they did not have it out on display. I asked a lady and showed her my phone. She did a quick check of the display stand and the drawer beneath before telling me that the website often lies. Disappointed I ended up going to the Flatirons Mall Sephora a day later. The same thing happened where it was available on the website but not on the display. The manager checked the drawer but this time she also went into the backroom to check stock there. She brought it back and apologized for it not being on display, and even thanked me for letting her know. She was incredibly polite and I was so happy that I could purchase this product. I suspect that the Boulder one had it, but that the lady was just to lazy to go in the backroom to check, also makes me wonder if the same thing has happened to other people.Id give 5 out of 5 stars in terms of the Sephora Stores themselves; I love the organization of various make ups and the atmosphere, regardless of which one Ive been to. Id give the Flatirons store a 5 out of 5 as well. But Im giving 3 out of 5 for the Boulder store because the lady was rude and lazy. Makes me not want to come back to this store and just go to the Flatirons one all the time.Anyway, who knows, maybe I just caught someone on a bad day, so take the review for what its worth. Just felt like I had to post it because of the inconvenience that was caused.
I always try my best not to go to this store. Although living in Boulder, I would rather drive to Nordstrom/ Neiman Marcus in Flatiron malls, Cherry Creek or simply order it online. Every time I go, most of the employees are pretty condenscending. If I ask for recommendations, they always point me to the cheapest (and bad quality) products, stressing the low price multiple times. I follow beauty trends religiously and have a good idea about decent products vs the poor performing ones. At first I gave the benefit of the doubt to them, but when this happens regularly then i know it’s not accidental. I know I look like a student but really, despite Sephora being the store where I least spend my money for beauty products, I am still a VIB Rouge. I am not sure why a lot of (not all, a few were nice) Sephora employees have this attitude. It is frustrating because I go to Sephora for better makeup/skincare products but kept being treated like I cannot afford anything there.
Sarah was fantastic! Knowledgeable and great to work with, answered all my a questions; I did not feel like I was being sold to but rather having a conversation about products and skin care.
Staff were great, got everything I needed.
Great customer service and facial.
Good service, staff was very friendly!
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT! HAD TO DEAL WITH CHERRY CREEK WHICH WAS HORRIBLE!!
I love this place
Energy and atmosphere are great! I use store pickup quite a bit.
Rude customer service
Super unhelpful and rude staff.
When I bought cosmetics for 3 people as a souvenir and asked to add 2 bags at the cash register, I was struck by an unpleasant face and there was no final greeting. I felt lonely after a long time. Its been a while since Ive been shopping and feel sick.I was told that there is only one cosmetics store near here. I dont think Ill go.
