The shop owners are knowledgeable about their products and very insightful as they helped me pick out gifts for some hard-to-buy-for relatives. Their stock included beautiful options at a wide range of price points so I was able to find what I needed and stay within my budget. I will definitely be back to shop again!
Great for unique gifts for particular teenagers and others.
They have modified hours due to Covid, but their website and Google are not updated with their hours. I checked their website before leaving and ended up waiting for 20 minutes before thinking to call when 11 am came and went. Their phone recording explained new hours.
Cute little shop with very beautifully handmade items sold. Clothing, bedding, bracelets, statues, etc. Very good prices and most of the money goes to organizations. This shop a bit hidden but its awesome and Im so glad I checked it out, Ill be back!
Sankara is the place I go to escape all the cookie cutter shops that seem to be everywhere now. Everything there is unique and ethically made. I especially love that they partner with so many charities to help support women and children in India. Katrina and Francesca are always warm and welcoming whenever I come in the shop. Anytime I am looking for a gift but not sure what to get. I can always count on Sankara to find a wonderful one of a kind gift!
I *adore* Sankara Imports! I have been a customer since they opened in 2012. I fell in love with all of the beautiful artwork and handicrafts. I was thrilled to learn that the mother and daughter owners support artisans overseas by buying from them directly, ensuring fair wages. A percentage of their sales are additionally donated every month to a different charity. They are truly making a difference in peoples lives! My favorite purchases have been my Turkish hand-loomed towels, Nepalese yak wool blankets, and Indian jewelry. Thank you to the owners for bringing us such beautiful products!
Lovely shop, full of beautiful, and unique treasures. Check out the Starfish line of jewelry they carry: beautiful, and affordable pieces which help raise women out of trafficking. All their products are ethically sourced, so you feel great about your purchases, AND its a woman owned business. They carry a wide variety of clothes, jewelry, and housewares like towels, vases, tablecloths, and utensils. I can always find great gifts here.
Sankara Imports is more than a store, it’s a conscious decision to help globally on a local front. Sankara is a heart-driven business that supports women artisans from villages in India and Nepal. Handmade, one of a kind, jewelry, textiles, clothing and more, are the kinds of treasures you will find at this store. Plus every month they donate a percentage back to these artists. It’s win, win! And their downtown Bothell location is delightful!
I love, love, love Sankara! They always have something in my size AND the owners are super sweet and helpful. Plus they have the most gorgeous rings and jewelry. Definitely worth stopping by whenever one is in Bothell. ^_^
When Sankara was in Country Village, they brought a fresh perspective to the Village. Now that they are downtown Bothell, I am always excited to go see them and see what new treasures the ladies bring back after one of their trips. Beautiful ladies. Wonderful shop!
This is a really cute shop staffed by nice people, full of beautiful things. You can easily find something pretty for yourself, or shop for a gift. They also have an adorable shop dog who greeted me at the door and tried to share her toys with me!5% of the proceeds are donated to charity, and there are signs all over the store about the charities they donate to and get items from, the artists who make the items, the techniques used, etc etc. So its informative, too.You can enter from Main Street (from a small door that leads downstairs) or from the parking lot in the back. When I visited, the place was a little hard to find because I was in the parking lot and theres a little driveway in front that had two cars parked directly in front of the store. So you really have to be looking for it to find it... But I promise its worth it!
This place is awesome. A great little hole in the wall import store that only deals in ethical trades. Has some really unique items.
I loved their location and their selection when they were at the Country Village, but now since theyve moved to their location downtown Im not as fond of it. The atmosphere isnt the same the selection isnt the same and the experience was just much different unfortunately,I absolutely loved the store at its former location it left a lasting impression in my mind so much so that I tried to track it down and was greatly disappointed
Everything is beautiful. Items are handmade with care but perfectly priced and I love that profits go to fairtrade & charity groups.
Wonderful store full of beautiful ethically traded handmade clothing and household decor. I love this shop!
