Stepped in on a recommendation and was impressed by the happy and attentive atmosphere. We shared our goal to make some nice italian sandwiches and the rough types of cheese and meats we wanted and were given samples (each fantastic). Was happy when we left, happier when we opened beautifully laid our packages, and stuffed silly after our meal. Thanks!
Unbelievably delicious tuna sandwich. I don’t know how they made it so good. Everything there looked and smelled so good.
AUTHENTIC Italian sandwiches and meats. Cheese and spices. A sort of Italian specialty store with the most extraordinary collection of fine olive oils and other Italian products. Picked up a sandwich while binge drinking in North Boston. Ive never had anything like that. Get one. Its a little trip to Italy. Cool guys running it too. I probably came off as an obnoxious tourist but they were very kind. A truly unique experience.
Such an awesome authentic Italian grocery store. Luca was so nice and very helpful. He let me try 4 olive oils from Italy so I could figure out what one was the spiciest!!
Needed charcuterie platter for company visiting, we discussed desired flavors and spices and was then offered a sample of every ingredient before slicing. Perfect proportions of meats and cheeses were prepared and I threw in some marinated olives and mushrooms to complement. Gracious staff and old world service. Everything was delicious..!
Shared on Yelp too!I don’t know how I won’t cry writing this review. My sister and I are local gals her in Boston, MA. Always loved and will continue to do elsewhere, getting our fresh Italian provisions. Today. Not long ago… that all changed. At the end of the … don’t speak rudely to your customers. Most importantly the ones you grew up with. You want to call my sister names like entitled, b!txh, people like her … apparently you don’t put your pants on like other women. You were degrading and disrespectful. Why why why??? We are Boston girls!!!!Sitting in a restaurant in the North End. My heart still hurts for the way we were treated.Oh well… $149 and change later. JPace here I come.
The best prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich I’ve ever had. Fresh basil, great olive oil, crunchy bread. Amazing! As authentic as it comes. The staff behind the counter couldn’t be friendlier.
Friendly people excellent fresh cold cuts affordable quick subs
My favorite Italian deli in North End Boston. Beautiful cheese selection. Fantastic meats from Italy. Great service. I live in Naples Florida but whenever Im in Boston area visiting family I make it a stop before doing anything, direct from airport.
Great meat and cheese selection. Helpful staff. Perfectly sliced prosciutto.
The Original was great and the prices are good. Also loved the mozz.
Love the food. This is a must when in North Boston
Great Italian cold cuts and sandwiches!
I love this little Italian food shop in the North End. I travel to Boston a few times a year for business and this place is always one of my stops. I buy enough to get me through my charcuterie needs during my visit and some to take home. Aside from amazing meat, cheese and olive choices, this shop has so much more - innumerable olive oil choices, fresh bread, more anchovy options than Ive ever seen and much more. A must stop kind of place!
Absolutely wonderful old school Italian sandwiches, meats and cheeses
Nest sandwichs ever
This place is so frickin good. Im not even kidding. My family came here one time a year or two ago and came across this place by accident. We were so hungry that we stopped here and got sandwiches. Boy was that the best decision we ever made. They were so good. Everything about those sandwiches was perfect. They were the most delicious sandwiches ever. The only problem was that we forgot the name of the place. All we knew was that it was near to Paul Reveres house. I did some hardcore research, filtering through all the Italian places around Paul Reveres house, looking through the descriptions of each, reading every review, until I finally found it: Salumeria Italiana. We started planning our vacation to come back to Boston, all because of those sandwiches. We drove for over six hours to get there and tried to navigate our way through the subway (which aint easy for a couple of country folk). Finally, we reached it. It blends right in to the surroundings, but do not be fooled! The sandwiches are far from ordinary. As soon as my sandwich was ready, I tore open paper surrounding it, and let my teeth sink into the fresh baked bread. Heaven. In the dark world that we live in, these sandwiches are a quick distraction, a beacon of light that can whisk you far away to a better place for just those ten minutes that it takes to eat. It is short, but it is so worth it. (Yes we did actually plan an entire vacation around these sandwiches. Theyre that good. Seriously, go there.)
Great authentic salumeria
This place is great. Great selection of salumi, cheeses and antipasto salads. The employees were nice and very helpful. They gave me an impromptu olive oil tasting to make sure I purchased the one that was perfect for me. There are a few Italian grocery items and delicious breads. This is and has been one of Bostons most popular North End destinations for a reason.
This place has the BEST service and the BEST sandwich in boston IMO. La Donna = heaven. Always get 2 whenever I go...which is at least 3 times a week (ha!)
Everything was wonderful chesse and meat, they have a lot of good stuff! but the guy I suppose its the owner or manager was very rude, if you like to take pictures or videos from the place and Im not kidding, you have to ask him for permission, seems hes not turist friendly otherwise the staff was SUPER nice and helpful. Only because of that Im giving them 1 star, not feeling to come back!!!
We stopped in here full up already from dinner, but couldnt resist the delicious treats in this shop! The staff was very attentive and helped us to pick out which olives we liked best, to go with our cheese and bread. If we had luggage to check, I would have purchased so many goods to take home with me! Pastas, cookies, candies, sauces, oils, and various spreads/ tampanades. We just have to come back!
Sandwiches are incredible. Bread is delicious, ingredients are freshly cut to order
Delicious food and super friendly people!
This place has the best Italian Cold Cuts and, if you can get them, fresh rolls and breads.
My first time in this place and its now one of my favorites in North End.While I was reading some of the reviews here, I confirm, as a non-italian person (Asian), that I was treated friendly and respectfully here. The person who was helping me, Gaetano, hes Italian, and he was very friendly. However, I had a great experience there. Everyone was very attentive and friendly!Thank you for making our afternoon! ☺️
Best Italian sandwich I have had in a long time. I search these things out everywhere I visit. Molinari in San Francisco. Central Market in New Orleans. These are right up there. Great bread. Perfectly sliced and piled meats. So happy I passed this along the Freedom Trail.
Authentic Italian products from pastas, condiments, oils and vinegars to cold cuts and cheeses
A peace of Italy in the US. Taste some cheese or saussage (salami, ham), staff is very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
I went in looking for a nice bottle of olive oil as a gift. I knew the prices are marked up 1.5-2.0x what you can find online. I was willing to buy local and pay for some good advice. I asked someone who worked there for a recommendation and he asked how much I was willing to spend. I said “$30”. He pulled out the bottles in the price range. I asked why he recommended those, why were they special and his response was “they are all special, that’s why they are here”. I pressed for more information but he couldn’t tell me anything about the olive oil. His response was “They are like wine, they are all different.” Not very helpful... I went in willing to to pay 2x (in cash) vs. the cost online but left empty-handed because they couldn’t tell me a single thing about the olive oil.
I have been shopping there for years. They have the best products; the staff there is great; they let U sample things if you are not sure. Its a great place to go to get a taste of Italy
The best !
The best subs
While the meat selection was good the people who work there were just rude. Very unfriendly, seemed annoyed by our presence and the opposite was true for a few Italians who came in. So, maybe you need to be Italian if want to be treated with respect in there.
Authentic, imported delicious Italian delicacies! The crew is very helpful with any doubts you have and you ask for a taste of almost everything. Grab one of their panini or some cold cuts and cheese and walk 2-3 minutes to any of the 5 different parks around the North end and have the perfect picnic!!!
We love this place. We live in Dallas, and every time we go to Boston, we go there. We buy all kinds of cuts and cheeses, their awesome bread, and their fabulous homemade pesto. We walk half a block to eat in the plaza in front of Paul Reveres house. What a delight!
The best meats, cheeses, olives and other imported Italian pantry items; topped off with excellent service!
Best Italian market in Boston. A true little Italy gem where you can find every imported item youve been missing in your (Italian American) life.
Amazing place. Small but great selection of authentic Italian groceries.
Amazing cured meats and cheeses! Staff were very helpful.
Stopped in this cool little place yesterday, and was pretty stoked with my purchases. But, I just realized the food I bought had been expired for nearly 6 months.
An authentic salumeria with a broad selection of everything you need to prepare a gourmet holiday antipasto or simply to pick up a delicious sandwich to satisfy your immediate hunger. It’s a popular place for North End tour guides to visit with their patrons, so be prepared for a possible crowd; but don’t let that put you off either. Just step right up to the counter where a large and competent staff await your order.
I have to admit I wasn’t surprised when I saw the 4.9 overall rating! It’s extremely excellent. Yes it’s expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. A real treat. A famous NY chef ( who I hate ) is a regular here. That should give you an idea of how good it is.
Great selection of cheeses and salamis to go along with the atmosphere and service... grab a couple bottles of red and swing by here for some snacks. You won’t regret it.
Perfect! Tasted everything we had sliced to take home. Little Italian heaven take away.
Outstanding market with a smell that is wonderful. The fresh meats and cheeses were excellent. And the other goods were great too. A great market in the North End. And they take credit cards!
Singular. awesome. delicious. go here.
Best goddam sourdough on the planet. Get the square loaf. Or four at a time and freeze..The cured meats are terrific. Only turnoffs are tourist cattle drives and general lack of interesting stock.
I LOVE this place. The selection of meats and cheeses are incredible. They had a ghost pepper salami the last time I was in an it was incredible as well as a truffle cheese that I still dream about. Grab some stuff from the case, a loaf of bread and walk to the greenway for a nice picnic.
Oh my goodness this place is amazing! Best sandwich in little italy! Such kind staff, really great meats, cheeses, breads, olive oils, pastas, and homemade pesto! We will definitely be back...
Great meats and cheeses! The Spinosi pasta is an all time favorite!!
Freaking great little shop. Everything is delicious and worth tasting at least once. Perfect for any Italian dry goods or meats / cheeses.
The place for Italian meats, cheeses, crackers, boxed risotto, polenta and imported specialty Italian grocery items. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ask questions, learn about items and get a taste of Italy in this small neighborhood treasure.
Oh my lord,my heart be still. Best Italian Market Ever!!! Olives anyway u can imagin. WILL BE BACK
Very authentic Italian Market and Sandwich Shop with excellent service. Every sandwich is made fresh in front of you. Bring your appetite!
We had a great time looking around. I chose a random cold cut and it was awesome between that, the fresh mozzarella and a load of bread we had a wonderful snack while we walked around the north end.
Real nice place, employee even let me try a mozz ball upon request wich I dont think they normally do or they would go through them like hotcakes as it was delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.
Great sandwiches and great selection of imported goods
U dont need to eat grated cheese with wood in it! reasonable prices. when we cannot get here they mail it! love!
The bread, the meats, the cheeses, the basil - put it all together and you’ve got a quality store and deli even my late Italian grandmother would rave about. Try their sandwiches. We had The Original and The Italian, cut in half and shared with each other. OMG! Some of the best ever.
This is a wonderful little delight tucked away in the North End just off Hannover St. They have everything you could possibly want for preparing a delicious Italian meal. We walked out with some flavoured balsamic vinegar.
The perfect Italian neighborhood store! Great cheese, breads, and pasta. Service is excellent.
Great family service and the freshest meats, cheeses, olives and bread!
The best part of the old North End style
Best Italian sandwich in Boston. Terrific bread, a reminder of the old country.
Great place, great guys
Excellent service excellent food best cold cuts
Relocating to Boston so we walked around the north end to see part of our new city. We grabbed a rice ball from Bovas first, an iced coffee from across Old North Church and then waited until we found a place like this to grab something for lunch. Grabbed a sandwich and some of the meats...yum!! Topped off with a little something from Modern Bakery. We then walked out of the north end to swings and grren space across from the public market...what a fun time!! Love that this is our new town!!
Stopped to grab a sub. The Italiano is awesome. Affordable authentic Italian. Loved this cozy little shop.
Great neighborhood Italian market in Little Italy. Everything you need to prepare a wonderful Italian meal.
Beautiful little Italian grocery store superb customer service the the salami options are superb and had meats and what we love about it is that we live not in Boston but we are able to get our food shipped to us no matter where we are so we appreciate that and theyre great customer service
Best Italian food shop in the North End -- all you need except for fresh bread...
Wow this is a Italian market. Authentic foods can be bought here. But the sandwiches are supurb.
One of the last true Italuan grocery stores left in the North End. Wonderful place.
Most authentic Italian deli in North End. Fabulous sandwiches, cheese, olives, homemade pesto and assorted dry goods
Great place goob cold cuts great staff good help
Came to this favorite local Italian shop today just to buy the tasty seasonal “baked buffalo ricotta cake with lemon, from Puglia, or torta di ricotta bufalina al limone, Puglia. Have not found anywhere in Greater Boston to buy this amazing stuff. Would love to know if can be found elsewhere. Actually called ahead to check if they have it, and rushed here by T. Rich yet not too sweet, with perfect amount of lemon. Yum!!! Well, could not resist to grab a bag of Amaretti while in line. Always fun and exciting to come here. Definitely will be back.
Old world Italian salumeria.
Really cool store if you like high quality Italian goods. Great staff.
Ask nicely for a special sandwich and they made one heck of an awesome sandwich!
Good collection of hard to find Italian specialties.
Great clean place anything u need from Italy they have it or can get owner guy is great n friendly
Excellent spot to grab a sandwich for later! We enjoyed one while on the train to a Boston suburb.
Best Italian deli in Boston - the real deal for charcuterie, cheeses, pasta, olives etc
The Best in all of Bostons, North End. The Owner is the kindest Guy around
This is by far the best Italian Market in the Boston area........Bella :)
Authentic Italian market with awesome sandwiches
The best place to go in the whole North End!
Genuine Italian products. Fantastic bread. Outstanding mortadela!
They make delicious sandwiches! My favorite in Boston
Really nice place. Amazing sandwiches and lots of good italian products!
Like Rock & Roll! If you like salamis you probably know that when prepared correctly as Rock & Roll they only come in two varieties, loud and louder. There are not that many places in the Boston area where you can find the loud varieties (aka the real Italians) not to mention the louder or Rage Against the Machine sort of thing (aka Eastern Europeans & ruski salamis). This salumeria has those amazing Italian real salamis, with all the Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin effect in them, try them with nice fresh bread (that they themselves carry) and some good French wine. The Mortadela with truffles is totally regia. They carry a great selection Risottos other than Arborio. Once in a while I buy their expensive Italian brand pastas with no regrets. And I run out of salami, oh no, going to Wegmans for salami makes sob out loud.
Nice little Italian grocery store with a decent selection of meats, cheeses, pastas, and other goods. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
These guys have real Italian oils and meats and are really nice
Fresh cold cuts very tasty
