Shane was pleasant, even taking time to be sure I was enjoying the hat on my head (even though I procured that piece elsewhere). Everytime I come in, Im treated like a friend and usually learn a thing or three.

A great place to buy beautiful hats for men or women. The selection is outstanding with a nice variety of styles and colors. This is where I went to get my first real, nice, hat. Ive purchased hats at both locations, but this is the one where I didnt already know what I wanted first. The customer service was top notch. If you want to talk hats, or let them guide you to a style you might enjoy, you wont be disappointed.

Phenomenal hats and fantastic personnel. The man really knows his stuff and the WIDE selection of hats leads to quite awhile being spent there. If I lived in Boston, I know where Id be looking for a job lol.

Nice staff but I bought a Salmagundi brand hat just a few months ago and Im not happy with its losing the dimples on the top and side.I would post a photo of the hat but I dont see that option.Wow, great response!When I first saw your response to my review I didnt hit see more. I was very happy with your lifetime free minor blocking and such. I was showing my wife your nice reply when I saw see more.I am incredibly impressed.I visit my son in Boston every fall so I bought the hat when I was there. I live in Seattle.I think Ill make a winter visit this year and see you in a week or so.

I love this shop. I try to stop by every time I am in Boston. I bought a wallet there six years ago that has been my favorite ever and just went by to get a new one and picked up a gorgeous bowtie at the same time. Their hats are also fantastic and the staff is very friendly and helpful!

Dropped into this hat shop while visiting Boston. The owner was so helpful and friendly! He measured our heads, taught us everything about proper hat care, and made sure that each of the hats we tried on fit our heads, but was never pushy about selling. Ive never experienced that level of service in other hat shops. I still look at my hats that I purchased from here and wish the shop were closer, but mainly Im just thankful it exists.

Fantastic store with super friendly staff. Small shop with a huge selection. Only about 1/3 of the total inventory is on display so if you don’t see what you like on the shop floor, ask them what they have in the stock room.The staff said they make about about half of their product. I bought a nice Stetson.Lots of help - great experience.

Beautiful selection of hats from the most famous brands, as well as from minor manufacturers. Needless to say, the quality of the products is on average very high. The employees are extremely friendly and professional - they spent a lot of time illustrating the features of all the hats I was interested in and made effort to suggest other products to meet my desires.

This a a great hat shop and they will help find the right fit for your face! They have some cool, different hats not found everywhere. We bought 2 today and plan to go back. Prices are not the cheapest, but you can tell the quality is much higher. These hats will last a long time.

Stumbled upon this place while waiting for dinner. Jessen was awesome, so much knowledge and passion for hats - it was contagious! Im sad I wasnt at the larger location (But my wallet is probably happier I wasnt). I walked away with 3 hats! I could easily spend a day (or more) here trying on all the hats and hearing all the stories. Just bummed Im only in Boston every couple of years

I love Salmagundi! I usually go to the JP location but brought friends from NYC to the North End store bc it was closer to South Station. My friend has very specific taste and the staff found her a great hat unlike anything shed seen in New York!

Recently moved here from the Midwest and stumbled upon this gem on the North End. I rarely wear hats but knew this place through a common friend. Shane eventually knew the owners of the hat shop I frequent at in Dayton, Ohio. It was quite an experience trying on several hats and ended up purchasing one that I like.
