I dont understand why they have arguably the worst Guitar Center right next to a music school. The selection range of guitars is abysmal, the instruments are largely in bad condition and they only ever have two amplifiers plugged in. When I visited from New York in 2018, they hadnt heard of newer brands like Strandbergs or Aristides back then either so that tells me that this is (somehow) a store that is largely out of touch with the music business in general. Im just confused how theyre still operational after the bankruptcy while the Times Square GC shut down.PS - this is literally the only headless guitar they had in stock
The guys there are true musicians and engineers!!!. I came in with an inquiry of a monitor satellite and no B.S. he got to the nature of what i was talking about. I asked for his advise and he gave true engineering opinionated feedback where it was important. Especially in areas simply where a box presentation can not. You guys on mass ave are awesomeness!!!
Great place. Great people
I was at this location a couple weeks ago. They provided excellent service! I called ahead of time to see if they had a specific mic in stock, and they did. And they also saved it for me. They went above and beyond! I will definitely visit this location again! Thanks fellas!
If they can get it done within their power, they will get it done...As is, with the kinds of things that are happening now, inventory for things you may need now may not suffice .. as well due to availability of accessories to things that are being phased out like outboard power to PA speakers..Crossovers and amplifiers are not available in the stores any longer.. The help is always there cordially from employees.. They will make sure that if it is in the store you will get it.
They are awesome. Stop by.
The acoustics selection is somewhat limited, and every guitar I tried was way out of tune and had dull, rusted strings on it. The strings were so bad I really had no faith whether I would like the guitar or not, because I couldnt distinguish different guitars anymore.
Nice drive up location.
Love this place, friendly staff, have made many trips there, and many happy purchases.
Knowledgeable staff and a wide selection with decent deals. Plus masks are no longer necessary so thats a plus!
Sometimes the staff makes stray away from things you both want to purchas
Very knowledgeable sales representatives who are helpful and friendly! Good stock of necessary and essential items to get musically amplified and technologically connected. Very conveniently located, and also very generous with their hand-sanitizing dispensers!
Small but very friendly guys working there
Went in to get some advice on a XLR microphone + Focusrite interface + a desk -level mike stand for improving the audio for our Zoom lectures. Came out with a complete setup at a discount. Shout-out to Aiden b/c he was super-helpful ! And yes - my new setup was a vast improvement to what I had before... Students commented that they can actually hear the online lectures now =)
The staff at the guitar center is very knowledgeable about all the equipment and software and they also have great prices
Lovely staff and organised store. Easy to find everything you need. Cool foot tap activated hand sanitizer on entering the store.
I was in Boston for spring break, and I stopped into this shop to play around for a little bit and check out their selection. I ended up falling in love with a Breedlove acoustic. The staff was so helpful with answering my questions, helping me figure out how I was going to pay for it and get it back to me in Minneapolis. Im glad that we were able to figure it out, because this guitar simply fits me, especially as a bit of a chunky kid. Thank you!
They are really well versed in what their namesake is.
Very warm and friendly service!
Bought a Guitar from them...its really the only gig in town
The staff here is helpful, knowledgable and kind. I went in Guitar Center my first time searching for a MIDI cable. It was not long before a super nice clerk came over to ask me if I needed help so I got my cable right away. Everything was very smooth. Really liked the atmosphere and the professionalism. They give pretty sound advice on their products, no BS. Enjoyed shopping there and look forward to shopping there again.
Best instruments and close by
All the convenience and reach of a big box store, with the focus and attention to detail of a music store. Odds are, youll get what you need, and be on your way quickly. Great place for quick shopping visits. Also, a very broad selection and wide range create plenty of shopping opportunities to explore what you might need that you do not know!
Great selection of instruments in particular their acoustic guitar room. Bought my Rosewood Recording King Guitar their that they allowed me to put on Layaway. No complaints here!
Im going to give my experience 5 stars. The selection here is okay but Ive definitely been to bigger locations with better selection. What gives this place 5 stars for me is the level of service I got from the team. John John and Brian were outstanding. I probably waited 25 minutes to get help because a patron was taking so long with their purchase. Brian was sure to acknowledge that we were waiting and thanked us for our patience. Then, when I had questions about some specific gear, he took his time to explain the pros and cons of the different options and never made me feel rushed. I really appreciated that effort.Id go back for the consultation to be honest.
This place has all your musical instrument needs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable in all phases of musical instruments and accessories. Theres always something on sale, at decent prices.
Guitar Center is awesome! Theyve got an awesome selection of guitars and other music instruments. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable and fun music lovers atmosphere 😊
Small version but incredibly helpful staff, found everything I needed
Wish I had taken the name of the chap with Blue hair who looked after me at the weekend. Managed to come away with a stunning new Taylor acoustic. He helped with my buying journey and also suggested some great extra products! Would highly recommend to musicians of all levels!! Thanks - George (UK)
My friends phone was stolen in here
Excellent service. Staff was amazing. Manager worked great with the staff. They will make our karaoke night a hit with my new microphone and all my accessories.
Extremely helpful staff. Very friendly.
I needed some audio adapters right away for a stage show and figured it would be impossible to find since there are no more Radio Shacks around. But then I remembered this spot - they have lots of great adapters and cables for sound and it’s all high quality gear. Just what I needed.
Any musical device u need repaired
OK still looking for brian mays gold strings that all fuitR stores dont carry it
Walked in and bought a trombone mute. They told me if it was not exactly what I needed they would order it. I ended up getting a different one delivered to the store and made the exchange. The staff was extremely helpful and made the process easy. Ill be going back.
Everyone was very helpful and not pushy. Great place to check things out if you’re picking up strings and what not. Found out a bunch of things I didn’t know and got a better idea of what effects my sound.
Helpful staff!
Very knowledgeable staff, large selection and great prices. Amazing store, go see for yourself!
Very nice place, they have good prices and everything you need. It is a very busy place. I think they are short staff so they get a bit stressed trying to help everyone. But I love that place.
Employees are friendly and helpful. Wish they had a larger collection of Jackson guitars (personal opinion).
The location is very convenient, so if you need something right now guitar center can be useful. However, theres a very limited selection. Almost everything can be found cheaper online. The staff is rarely helpful.
Loved it, excellent selection of guitars and accessories, a must go! Highly recommend!
Good customer service
Friendly, well-informed staff member, very helpful with a simple, inexpensive purchase.
Bad experience. Store was empty and they crying over covid-19. All I needed was drumsticks and they crying over a mask. Went somewhere else.
They have good range of guitars and they ship the ones that arent. Employees are skilled and guide you in purchasing the right product. Good experience overall.
Wanted jbl 305s, they had em 190 used. Amazon has em 90$ a piece brand new free shipping. They refused to do any kind of negotiating and let me leave with cash in hand. Regardless of policy the manager was rude and condescending. Customer service offered me free cables.. No thanks.
Nice space, the staff is very helpful and welcoming. Everyone there seemed genuinely interested in helping me out. Would certainly recommend to anyone
Ive prob spent about 10k here, its amazing to me how a dying retail shop can mess up an easy 1000$ sale. Never thought Id be a Sweetwater guy.
Incredibly rude employee works here. The tall fat blonde man in lipstick got upset when I didnt want to buy a floor model microphone. I had thanked him for helping me out but was going to just get the microphone new from Amazon before he tried to guilt trip me for using their service over Guitar Centers. He(?) tried to make me feel bad for Amazons poor treatment of their workers. As if Guitar Center has great moral standards for their employees, customers, or even inventory apparently. Its not my fault that you have the body of a viking but dress like my grandmother, spectacles and cranberry lipstick and all.
Really good Guitar Center. Not big compared to others, but they had a good mix of expensive and cheap gear. They had quite a few vintage guitars as well, not just new stuff. The staff was really cool.
The guys thats work there are very nice
I called 4 guitar centers about my repair needs and chose this one because I had a great experience chatting with Dave Rizzuti on the phone. He was very helpful and knowledgeable (and best of all, friendly). This impressed me so much that I made the trek to Berklee (even though there is a guitar center closer to my house). When I came to pick up my guitar, I found that the issue I was hoping to fix had not been completely resolved. Enter: superstar David Lee. David was SO friendly and helpful, teaching me about the parts of the guitar and what causes which issues, doing FAR MORE WORK than I probably ended up paying for, and stayed an hour after he was supposed to leave helping me and making sure I was completely satisfied with the repair. This is a new guitar for me and I was really sad that I had to bring it in at all, so having someone who was so obviously capable and reassuring was really nice. I work retail and I couldnt believe how patient he was. He never once made me feel guilty for keeping him late, and on the contrary, he sincerely made me feel like I was a worthy customer who brightened HIS day. Best of all, he was able (after what seemed like a lot of extra work) to fix the issue I had come for and another issue that had arisen since. I am now the proud owner of a beautiful sounding guitar, and beyond that I learned a lot about guitars from David. Yall should GIVE THIS GUY A RAISE and a bonus because he went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Five stars.
I love it here. Have come to this Guitar Center for years. Great location as well.
Great music store they have a lot of product and the staff is very knowledgeable, you can trade your gear in here also!
Great place for actual guitar PLAYERS; helpful staff thats knowledgeable about their products. Process are a little bit intimidating in general, but other than that, a great stop.
Always great!!
Main store: great, guitar rentals employees always with a terrible attitude and unhelpful
Very friendly staff and great stock. Clean store and nicely organised. Easy to find what youre looking for and staff can help with anything.
Awesome people all around. Easy going environment in general. Love it.
My go to spot for all my needs. Jarrod and his team are fantastic! Thank you for the great customer service!
The service was really nice! Stephen and Hirsh (store manager) took really good care and helped me out patiently. Fixed a fret buzzing issue within minutes despite several customers waiting. Had a good variety of guitars, amps and accessories. Thanks, GC! Also, nearest parking lot to my knowledge is at the Prudential Centre Parking Garage.
Great place to hang out and meet musicians, even if you arent going to buy anything. Plus its right across from Berklee college of music so you always have very talented musicians in there
Pros:Great service and very friendly staff, however, selection was limited. Not nearly as big as other guitar centres around the country.Cons:Guitars could use a restring.
The staff is really helpful and friendly. Plus the inventory is great so youre not going to have a tough time looking for what you want
Big thanks to Miriam and the rest of the staff at the Guitar Center near Berklee. My experience buying a keyboard was great.Miriam helped me pick out accessories for the keyboard and was very good explaining what things might be best for a beginner like me. When it came time to ring up, she and the manager finagled a $100 discount based on a price match with their website without any hassle. She then helped me load all the supplies into an Uber.I was very impressed with everyone at this store and highly recommend.
Friendly with a positive attitude..Atmosphere...nice to be there.
It’s a smaller Guitar Center, not a great selection of used stuff. Convenient for Mass Ave. travel, but there’s a bigger one around the corner.
Perfect place to buy anything you want. From books to fine instruments. Great!
Amazing staff and they help u out very patiently and make sure u get best
Great experience. Lea was super helpful
The Staff were very Helpful
Not bad for a smaller store but the staff was nice and available and knowledgeable.
I dont do reviews but their staff are extreeeeemely knowledgable. Ask for Brian for any Pro Audio needs
A welcoming location. Was visiting from out of town. Didnt get hassled for plugging in a guitar which is always appreciated.
Cool staff always willing to help, and theres a lot of stuff in that store besides guitars. DJs love this place
Helpful, reasonably well-informed staff; management went out of their way to help with an unusual special order and were great about communication and updates.
Great service!
Workers are super nice. Always nice to visit
Friendly staff. Reasonable price. You can try your favorite gear in test room before you check.
My first experience was late because they didnt open on time. But once I was in, the people were very helpful.
Great place to shop for musical instruments and related accessories. While selection is limited, staff is extremely helpful and the place itself is very comfortable for music related shopping.
Just purchased an American strat. Great customer service from Hirsh and Thomas. Thank you!
Ther were very helpful in getting what we need for putting on a karaoke event.
The employees here are douche bags but they helped me find what I needed.
Lovely people work in that guitar center. Its small but the folk are always chill.
I would deff recommend this place as they have a variety of music instruments as well as all kinds of accessories
The guys in the repair shop really know their business.
Its a Guitar Center, essentially anything you need in the world of musical instruments youll find it here.
They have an amazing collection of musical instruments but they didnt have much of the stuff I was looking for (given the existence of the items in their online store.)
Beautiful store, great selection. The employees and managers were beyond helpful with every sort of question I had
First time here and Nice layout, but need to work on customer service. This guy with blonde long hair helped serviced me. I asked for a adapter to connect microphone to an aux shaped end. He showed me to the section with microphone chords and when I tried to explain what I wanted he got a attitude and told me he never heard of what I was looking for after I pointed it out. I offered to show him a picture of what I wanted and the kind of microphone I had and he snatched the adapter out of my hand and walked away and said he doesn’t need to see the picture. He then walked to the counter as I followed him, scanned the item and tossed it as the counter. At that point I felt uncomfortable. I work in sales and I would never make a customer feel that way. Suggestions walk around the store if it’s your 1st time and look for what your looking for because honestly no one wants to walk into a store and feel uncomfortable.
I bought an article ( a music production keyboard), i was so excited to use it. However when i got home i found out that it was used and returned by finding it dirty, there was crud all over the pads and the keys.It was really odious !Im going to give it back and take a new one, however it was a waste of time and effort. The stuff has to check the returned items before selling them again !In order to not only excoriate, i can say that the stuff is experienced and can give usefull advice.
I bought my prized Les Paul. Im addicted, I have 18 guitars and cant play 1... it looks cool though!
GC IS COOLnot super awesome. They are getting pretty down and out, and the stores are looking VERY threadbare
