Checked this spot out looking for sausage. Got a lesson in humility. What the San Diego Zoo is for animals, this place is for animals that have been smoked and made into sausage. Just... amazing variety. The sausage I got was top notch, as were the pastries. Very helpful folks. Ill be back for sure.

Went there this week for what was described as fresh kielbasa.Well it was fresh.....FRESH FAT,lots of it, the taste was of garlic and not much else.Oh, you think kielbasa is a RING.Not here,it was almost like Italian sausage, straight about 6 inches barley twisted to separate the links.Although, I dont want to insult Italian sausage.Dont waste your time, there isnt any Kielbasa here,no a fatty, overpriced tube filled with fat some type of unseasoned meat. The inside of the store was, dirty, dim and looked like the old barroms along DotAve that, I remember.Given the massive Sub offerings, its a glorified sub shop.On a positive note the rye bread was killer.

Ive been shopping at DJs off and on for a few years. They used to have cash only but now they switched to #Clover POS what makes it super easy to pay (and I dont have to leave anything behind if its over the cash amount I have on me). They have a good selection of breakfast and lunch options and a lot of good quality Polish products. I love their doughnuts.

I went into this place on the morning of Oct 16 as they had a sandwich board outside advertising their breakfast sandwiches. I went back to the deli counter and asked for two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches and a nice fellow grabbed them out of a case that keeps them warm.I went up to the counter and managed to have just enough cash to cover the two breakfast sandwiches, $10.63. A bit on the pricey end for two BECs but if its good I dont mind.I opened mine and it looked absolutely delicious. The egg was slightly runny, the ciabatta was toasted, and the cheese and bacon plentiful; it was great. I didnt realize until about 5 minutes later but my GFs sandwich was different. The bread was more stale, the egg was over hard, and the bacon was brown! WTF! It was definitely not fresh, my hunch is that it was left over from the previous day. I would have gone back if I wasnt on my way to work.I feel like this place has a lot of potential and probably has some very good products and sandwiches. But for two breakfast sandwiches at $11 Id expect something very fresh, not one great and one gross. Bummer they dont accept cards either.

My name is Anatoly, and I live in Anaheim, CA. Im new to Dorchester, Im here in south Boston working on a project and I happen to stumble apon D & J Market about a year ago. And I must say, that has been my one of the best experiences so far. Im on a mission to try every soup and sandwich they make. So far every sandwich has been outstanding, and the soups are awesome!!! Its just one of the things you would not believe until you try. I love this place. I come here four or five times per week for lunch and I try to at least bring four more guys with me. Overall I give two thumbs up. A must taste and see.
