When I first arrived in Boston (for the marathon) I was on a mission to search out some local gins. It took awhile but then I found this place which had the most extensive range of local spirits imaginable. The staff are extremely friendly and provide excellent service. They also stock some good mixers. Just love this place❣️
Thanks for chatting bourbon with two business travelers.
Just had a young employee lose her mind on my friend because they forgot their ID. We had no issue leaving and coming back with my friend’s ID but this employee got personally offended (very offended) that our friend forgot their ID, so that’s a non starter for me—I don’t have the patience to deal with people like that in the world. Wouldn’t recommend based on this incident.2 stars based on the excellent liquor and craft beer selection.-3 stars on the personnel.
Good variety of alcohol.
This is a super nice shop for good spirits, beer, and wine. Its not some sketchy liquor shop. Also, they have an amazing selection (one of the few places that has Hibiki Harmony in stock) and their prices are some of the best Ive seen!
My favorite place to by packaged beer in the city. A range of beer styles so always something to grab. Staff is great. Friendly and helpful. Most cold beer can be purchased ad singles. At places where this is not the case, it can be a deal breaker.
They are very nice overall. Every time I visit, they are always open for conversation and try to make a good suggestion, in which they dont try to make you feel like you have to buy something. Store is always bright and I mostly see them smiling toward whoever walks in. a great liquor store in Boston!!
Fantastic beer selection, especially in the build your own 6 pack section. Also have a tremendous amount of wine. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful too.
Rob, Chris, Amanda, Mike, and Pedro and the rest of the CSL staff are hands down one of the best Ive ever had the pleasure to work with. The knowledge and shear surplus of brands carried is truly unmatched. I highly recommend CSL to anyone looking to purchase libations for an event, at home, or at the office! We will continue to use CSL locally here in Boston! You guys ROCK!
Great place! The staff recommend really good beer! Lady that sold some Massachusetts beers for a Brazilian girl: I loved the Night shift Mainer weisse! Thanks a lot!
The staff here are incredibly helpful. This shop is on my way to the subway, and I always pop in if Im on my way to a dinner party. If I know the menu and ask, the staff will help me select a great option. The beer selection is great, wine selection is great, and they have tons of liqueurs and liquors. AND Luxardo cherries (ugh, so amazing and so expensive, but worth it). Ive had help selecting beer for a pizza party, wine for a Spanish tapas night, wine for a seafood dinner. All were great selections.
They have kind of spirits to make you feel fine!!
Liquor store down the street is run by much nicer folks who are kind and care about the community-saw what I assume was the owner yell at a young lady for trying to hang a poster (where there were already like 5 posters).
Selection good and woman is kind i do not know her name but she always cheerful to me
I live in the neighborhood, and they keep a hard to find beer in stock because Ive asked. Appreciate that
Love this place - the best customer service Ive ever received at a liquor store in Boston. Staff were incredibly patient and would often spend long periods of time helping me make purchasing decisions. Great selection, prices are better than most in the area, and they have a good mix of cheaper, mid-range, and more expensive stuff.
Better beer selection than other stores in the area. Go for a beer tasting on Saturday afternoon. Dunk really knows his stuff
Love this place, very friendly with a great stock of imported beer and wine. Great location. I go here all the time.
Immediately walked in and got a sample of a pretty good mezcal margarita from the feature bartender. Great prices, a lot cheaper than in Canada. Staff was very friendly and offered suggestions for purchases. Ended up buying a bottle of Laphroaig select instead of mezcal, but would definitely come back once more to pick up some other products. Highly recommend.
Great selection of beers, wines and scotches. Friendly service and reasonable prices too
Excellent selection but I was disappointed today that they dont honor the price shown on the shelves.A 1.75l Gordons Gin was posted at $22.99 but they asked a higher price at the cash register. Seem sneaky, and probably illegal to me...
Great selection. Wine, Beer, and Spirits. Youll find yourself saying, They have this?!?
Ive ordered a couple times them for a corporate event which they delivered right to the office, which is awesome. But, I finally got a chance to stop in and check out the selection, while its not one of the huggge stores outside the city, its defiantly larger than half the other stores downtown and has the best selection of craft brews downtown, that Ive found and some of the hard to find liquors. Also, I asked if they had a particular wine, which I had in California, they didnt bummer but they said they could special order it for me. I didt take them up on it...maybe next time.
Great selection with outstanding customer service
Looks nice, but the wines are exposed to sunlight
Diverse selection and knowledgeable staff.
My first visit to Charles Street Liquors is going to be my last. As a customer I do not expect to have my taste preferences or opinions insulted by the store’s staff. As a certified Sommelier I am dismayed that any wine merchant would dismiss anyone’s opinion about wine so rudely.I do not wear my Sommelier certification on my sleeve. I expect that being a customer alone is sufficient reason for my opinion to be of value. Unfortunately, this does not hold true at Charles Street Liquors. While shopping there for a Pinot Noir the other day I casually suggested to one of their “sales” staff that they should consider offering one of my favorite Pinot’s made by Sea Glass in California. This simple suggestion was greeted with a haughty “we do not compete with supermarket wines.” Implying that not only is Sea Glass wine not worthy of being sold by them but that I too must also have a “supermarket palate” for liking it; how silly and rude for anyone in business to treat a customer this way. Adding to the foolhardy nature of her comment were the many bottles of Kendall Jackson, Columbia Crest, Chateau St Michelle and other wines on their shelves that are available in Supermarkets. No high marks for customer service here.Overall, Charles Street Liquors has a similar selection of wines to the other wine shops in the area. Price-wise they are all pretty much the same, some more, some less depending on the wine and the producer. All things considered, I’ll take my “supermarket palate” and business elsewhere.
Really good selection of american and european craft beers, a decent collection of wine, and a somewhat smaller collection of liquor (though they still have all of the basics and then some, especially scotch). the staff is helpful, especially with wine suggestions, and they have free wine tastings on friday afternoons.
Great wine and beer selection, very friendly and helpful employees. I only wish more wines were on sale.
Amazing selection of beer and wine!
They have Bota box wine!!!
Great selection of bourbon!
