Great staff and selection. They had items Ive never seen in other locations. This included Dungeons and dragons game books, magic cards, video games and consoles. Check out their inventory it will be worth the drive.

I found the organization of the books not very intuitive, but with so many books to look at I wasnt too bothered. And theyre very affordable, as the name implies.

I went for the first time last week and was impressed at the wide DVD collection they have and low prices ! I got the whole twilight series for $10 total.

A great place to spend a few hours browsing books, DVDs and other media. People do a pretty good job of masking and social distancing (one person per bay, most are honoring that). Staff is awesome.

Ive always enjoyed HPB, and am very impressed with how they have handled business during the pandemic. They have a great selection of books, dvds, cds, vinyl and more. Theyve got collectible comics and even a gift section.Their frequent buyer program is also really good. Get some stamps, and save 25% on a future order!If there is any one criticism I have its a lack of consistency in how items are categorized. In electronic/remixes youll find Chumbawamba (what??) Thats pretty minor, though. I definitely recommend it as a regular destination.

This is a fantastic place for those of us still wanting to turn the pages to read a book, pop a movie or CD into a device instead of streaming!. Well worth a look-see!

Like Half Price Books as you can almost always find a book-CD or DVD. Prices are reasonable and helps as Bloomington has pretty much lost our traditional bookstore.

Extremely large and Broad selection of everything from DVDs to books and documentary and small selection of gifts. The staff is very nice and it is a cheery atmosphere.

I know that when I go there I will always find something Im looking for. There is something there for everyone. No matter what you collect they have it. Staff is very helpful and if you cant find it in store they will find it online and have it sent to your home. Great place to shop. One of my favorites.

Awesome book selection, and the staff is very nice as well. I was able to find some cook books Ive really wanted at a steal of a price. While walking around I saw current novels and new releases that friends of mine talk about, all at amazing discounted prices. The store is organized by subject and the staff do an amazing job at keeping it orderly. Definitely come here, youll leave with something even if you didnt plan on it. No regrets.

Love this store, they have TONS of book for great prices. Only downfall is that they don’t have a look-up system for their store, which I feel is pretty inconvenient for as many books as they have. The only way they can find a book is looking the title/author up and going to a section they think the book may be under - seems like a waste of time to customers and employees. But, I love the atmosphere of this place.

It is no long HALF PRICE BOOKS anymore, it is now on American Freight furniture store!

The prices are great. The organization is pretty good making things fairly easy to find. It is set up like a normal HPB, but with cheaper prices. Comics for 20 cents each make great gifts.

Fantastic as always. Even fantastic customer service. Last time I was in a half Price bookstore was approximately 25 years ago in fort Worth Texas I loved it then and I still love it. A little bit bigger and more shelves is always what we need more of here. Its my kind of bookstore .....job well done📖💖

I love books and my kids love books too. We were sad that the only B&N in town close earlier this year. But we are very happy with HPB, thanks to a friend who introduced us to the location. very spacious, have some seats for browsing books, huge selections. I bet you wont have trouble to find the books you like here (because each of us got some books we want after an hour of browsing). So glad HPB is in town. And the price is just unbeatable, $2-$3 a piece for what we bought, in almost new or new condition.

Half priced books is something of a chain in Indiana. I know they have a decent location in Indianapolis where they have more of their higher quality books. This one, as the name implies is rather an outlet. To my knowledge, they do not do trade ins or pay for any used books, which is fair by me. That said they do take donations which if you are willing, isnt a bad place to drop some off.

Definitely a must for book lovers. Not a huge selection, but its great for kids and adults. I was able to find some cookbooks and reading for me and my 13, 11 and 7 year old were also able to find books that excited them. Very happy that the total price for 9 books was $17!

Half Price Books is one of my favorite places to go to get books. In the same way that a new book is nice because it is crisp and has the fresh printed smell, used books have a character unique to themselves. I come here to expand my personal library, a d often find books that I need out of a series (in this case The Wheel of Time). I love getting educational books here too, as theyre a fraction of their cost new. I have always had friendly staff help me, and the store is always in good order. I will definitely be trying to order books next time I am in to see if I can get a few harder to find ones.

A great shop to get books at a great price and their employees are helpful. Downside is their African American book selection is severely lacking.

Great Store with cheap books. The service is great here and all the workers are very nice and helpful. I have never walked into this store and came out empty handed. Dont come here and expect to find new and popular books, however, as they mostly have old used books and overstock.

Huge! Almost too big for my taste. Less organized than a regular store but the huge number of incredible prices are worth it. There are the typical sections around the outside wall with shelves organized by genre and alphabetized by author, just like a regular bookstore. But then the center, roughly half the store, is just random-ish bins of books and whatnot. So many great finds in the huge selection and ridiculous specials, but plan to spend some time finding stuff. The staff are incredibly helpful and nice, as always.

Lots of great bargains, but not as cheap as they used to be. Also, sections arent organized in a way that feels logical to me, and its really hard to find anything in particular if youre attempting to do so. Lots of cheap comics and vinyl.

Absolutely love this place. Always find something worth a buck or two (or 50 cents). You have to do some digging sometimes, and their selection is slim in some areas, but youll still find plenty to love if youre not super specific.

Good place to shop for books, cds, movies, etc. But need stools or something available to sit on for items placed on floor. Difficult to view all items for persons with disabilities.

I have loved Half Price Books since I first found them and I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff in the Bloomington store. But I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in the stores (or chains--depending on where this idea came from) decision to consolidate paperback mysteries into a general fiction section. Westerns? Still in their own section. Science Fiction? still in its own section. I read everything--but when Im in the mood for a mystery, I dont want to have to wade through romance novels to browse. Part of the great thing about brick and mortar book stores is the browsing experience--just walking in with no particular book or author in mind, scanning the shelves, and finding something interesting. On my last visit (my first since the consolidation took place). I stopped browsing at about H in fiction. I was tired of making my way past romance and regular fiction in a search for a new mystery that might catch my eye. I guess after it happened to the hardbacks, I should have expected it in the paperback section--but it doesnt make it any less irritating.

Great selection and well organized, but it bothers me that they dont buy books at this location. Its a college town, people have endless books to sell... 🤷 A little inconvenient.

I was very pleased with this half price books location. I came in and was greeted by an employee almost immediately and offered a free HPB bag. They were running a special in which you could fill a whole bag for 20 dollars. I browsed for about an hour. I found quite a few good titles. I went to purchase with a Gift Card and the cashier helped me even though it was a card for a different location. Overall, great experience and Id recommend them to anyone.

This store is winning me over from a 100% library lifestyle and turning me into an avid book buyer again. The prices cant be beat. Most books are available for just $1, and even on the pricier end, most are $3 or less.Ask about sales and other events. They run a summer reading club both my boys are having fun with, you can get a card stamped with the date for every visit to earn toward a discounted visit, and there are often sales that bring the prices even lower throughout the store.If youre a book lover, youll definitely be back.

Pretty good size selection. There is a section of “outlet” priced books, but a good portion is the same price as a normal half price books.

The employees are breathtakingly rude at this location. They refused to look up a book for me, and informed me that I had to come back tomorrow at 9am, and then they would look it up for me. I then asked a simple question about the location of a book, and the employee rolled her eyes at me and gestured vaguely to the entire store, responding with, It will be on the shelf. Well, yes, I figured it would be on a shelf, its a bookstore, thank you. I will never be going to that store again.

This is an outlet and much of the stock is only roughly sorted/organized. However, if you keep that in mind the store is awesome. They have a huge collection, the prices are LOW and the staff is always very friendly.

Bought a lot of records, ( vinyl ) beware ! Many not playable I sell online they need someone who knows what they are doing . They just buy and wish you the best of luck . I myself would fire the person in charge of vinyl records and make my store rock ! Sad because I would buy all but can not based on my experience.

Get you books here dont get on amazon like a chump they are a dollar and the people are lovely support the brick and mortar dont be an ass. AND ITS CHEAPER. They have special days for super buys, also little gifty trinkets and such. I love them and you should too.

Hard to find anything not to like about HPB, and the outlet is no exception. Great prices, various sales and discounts, and friendly workers as well. Frankly the only book seller that competes and beats online shopping for books. You always find something new and good there, and as mentioned its always good pricing. Dont forget they have records, magazines, music, games, and more than just books too.

We were on vacation and was looking for a Christian book store. I looked on the internet and this is the place that popped up. Books are reasonable prices. They also have dvd, cds, books on tapes, and many other items. Its a must see. God bless you.
