Pretty good selection of international foods, especially dry goods and other ingredients. Also a great beer/wine section. Short on produce. If youre a cautious eater, check the expiration dates. :)
LOVE this place!!!! Wide variety of products, friendly & helpful staff, clean store!
It was exciting to walk about an see/smell the different aromas. Cute little shop an friendly service
Huge selection. Prices are what youd expect for imported items. Overall everything seems fairly priced and again they have so much.
Has lots of variety. Their loose leaf tea is phenomenal. The staff was very kind and helpful too.
Yes! Yes! New management and killing it! Beer tasting! Great selection of ready made food. The tzatziki sauce is so flavorful. Huge range of products and an entire aisle of Ramen (hello fall!)
Have a wonderful selection of every region of food ingredients, not in your typical grocery store, and there selection of incense and herbs are amazing!
My husband and I love this place! They have the biggest selection of coffee beans and a huge variety of tea available. They also have a really good price on seasonings and spices.
Great selection of cultural and/or organic foods. Good wine and beer selection. Staff was friendly and super helpful. (customer begore of us forgot an item on the counter, and the register person asked me to wait so they could chase them out to give them the item).
I love this little local grocery store! It’s great for finding all sorts of international foods and it has a fair amount of household groceries you’d want on hand regularly! They don’t have big produce game but they make up for it elseware
I love this store. Find so many of my favorite things. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Finally, somewhere with a decent gluten-free section! We love World Foods.
I have started calling this “my treat store” because I always find something delicious here. The store is a delight. Truly one of Bloomington’s gems! I’m always excited to visit Sarah, Mosef, and the rest of the friendly staff.Sometimes prices are more than what you’d get on the same produce at say, Kroger, but the selection of international cuisines is unbeatable. 23 kinds of olives. 16 kinds of Tahini. Two dozen olive oils. So many kinds of soy sauce and tamari. Spices? I’m guessing over a hundred. Local honey, European chocolates, boutique jams, all-natural hair and body lotion products… I’m just listing off the top of my head, but seriously, this store is so unique.I dare you to walk down every aisle… twice.
This place is AMAZING! Middle Eastern stuff, Greek stuff, Spanish stuff and spices and and and... Excellent beer and wine selection with reasonable prices. I wish there was a place like this near me! Go and buy stuff and experience the world.
New owners and management, mostly the same stock, fresh bread Friday afternoon
Found my favorite flavor of kombucha there!
Love the selection. All sorts of hard to get items are here. Best feta in town. Olive bar selection lovely. Produce is not the reason to go here, but they have what you need in a pinch. Excellent wine selection with many older vintages of local Oliver wine. They have a decent homeopathic section. All around a great place to shop, browse. Its on my weekly circuit!
Hoped with new ownership it would be cleaned up and wines would be stored properly. Another good wine ruined by a crumbling cork. 🙁
This place is great. They have all of the more unique items you cant get at the big grocery stores
Hard to describe how fun this place is! They have essentials from all over the world, and lots of stuff you wouldnt expect. MEAD. THEY HAVE MEAD.
Most interesting store. Numerous hard to find spices.
I love this store for their unique items, herbs & homeopathic remedies. Oh, and their baklava, yum!
Great variety of bulk items. Combination of health food and international foods, Asian & European. A real gem and I look forward to exploring it further.
They have a little bit of everything youre looking for, and a lot of things you didnt know you needed. Great variety and fun just to look around.
Love this little store it has wonderful healthy and unusual foods.
Unique food items that you wont find anywhere else in town.
Small selection of (black) licorice available this time !! 👎👎
Damiana Leaf and other herbs and oriental foods!!!
Fun store! Excellent chocolate selection.
Great store! Wide selection of products you dont normally find at your everyday grocery store. This place is a hidden gem when it comes to craft beers, ciders, and wines from all over the world. Prices are a little high, but that is to be expected for such rare items.
Theyve got some really cool stuff in there and love the olive selection.
Next generation of management is making store better! Very good wine and beer inventory!
The selection and quality of products is one of the best in Bloomington. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Many gourmet and Mediterranean food choices available.
The best international beer selection in town and probably the state. Amazing exotic local and foreign selections, variety of dried snacks and international cheeses.
Tiny quant store who will play Rick Astley over the speakers unronicaly. Just got our own coffee grinder specifically so we can buy their coffee in bulk, were excited to try their turkish blend!
Needs more variety
Incredible selection. Staff are courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Tons of different products you dont remember you wanted or needed until you get there, and pretty much anything else.
Great selection of herbs.
Nice experience
Great people, strict protective guidelines for Covid, friendly place, wonderful selection.
If you like to cook and have an interest in wine or beer, World Foods Market is a must.
What a neat little place. If you want to find spices this is The place to go theyve got everything. Its also a neat little place to go if you want to buy loose tea or coffee. Also has a good selection of wine. And all kinds of other unusual things you didnt even know you were looking for. It was an enjoyable experience.
Amazing store with so many unique products, spices, keto stuff, soaps. Love it. Highly recommend!
I found what I want👍
This store has a great selection of spices, nuts, grains, teas, organic foods and products. Market of diversified cultural products. Small selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Worth going out of the way for. Knowledgeable staff. Friendly and helpful. Pricing is good. Products excellent. Expanding a new wine room.
Doesnt look like much on the outside, but great selection of natural foods ... and great prices. We were in town for a couple of days and were pleasantly surprised by this place. They have a wide variety of good organics that we didnt find in other local natural foods stores. Not a great selection of fresh meats and such, but good for everything else.
Huge selection of hard to find international items, vitamins and supplements, and wine. They have a minimal produce presence. The prices and quality are spotty, so definitely pay attention. Some things I have found are reasonable, and others are 2-3 times as much as other stores across town. But the staff are usually very friendly and helpful, and the place is enormous. Its always fun to visit and walk the aisles and just see what all is in there.
The best place for herbal supplements. Range in prices is good. The owner is helpful in finding the products your looking for. Also great for all kinds of natural products. Great assortment of Asian sauces. Love the incenses too.
They have the best selection in town when it comes to wine and beer, spices, olives and anything Asian or Middle eastern. The store may not be as ritzy as some, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Vast selection of international food and drinks, also tons of high quality beer and wine. Plenty of bulk goods and teas as well. The place is bigger than it looks from the street, so give yourself some time to look at everything.
Love and support Sahara Mart forever. Its the only place in town to get worldly products. If you want to shop/support local, this is the place to do it.
I love shopping here.
Sahara Mart is a family-owned and operated market that blends modern retail grocery services with distinctive variety and the feeling of intimate surroundings. Plus, the exquisitely delicious Moroccan olives I buy there look scary enough that I wouldnt accept them from a grocer I didnt trust. Note: My wife & I resumed the use of a Chemex coffeemaker now that our kids are grown--Sahara mart is one of the only places left where one can reliably purchase Chemex equipment and filters. (Unroasted coffee too!)
This place has a great selection including every imaginable spice and many bulk items. I question the freshness of some of their food. Theres always a lot a lot of stock there and not many customers. Ive had mouldy chocolate before and one had a worm eating it! They always take care of those issues for me, but Id rather find a place where I didnt have to deal with it in the first place.
Prices are high even for organic lines.
I love this place... I love the stuff they have there. I love the smell of the store. Their alcohol selection is amazing... Not sure what else to say. If youre in Bloomington, definitely make time to stop and check it out...
Great selection of international foods and ingredients, as well as the best selection of wines in town.
I first shopped at this store in 1982! Thats how long Sahara Mart has served Bloomington. It has stayed competitive all these years later by offering ethnic, gourmet and incredible wine selection. The largest choice of ethnic, middle eastern food in the region. Also strong on spices, coffees and teas.
There is always something new and different here. Lots of ethnic goods always on hand. Prices are fair and the place is well laid out. Great selections w lots of organic and healthy choices. Love it!
Looking for different items? Youll find em here. I recommend a trip down the hot sauce isle!
Unique items at a great price.
I went out of my way to get to this shop but they were closed in the early afternoon. Is it still open? I still want to go there.
Absolutely adore this place! They sell my brand of beer here for WAY cheaper than any other of the big liquor stores. They also take the time to get to know their regulars.
Good thing they sell a diverse variety of products and a whole lot of wines at generally cheaper prices. Bad thing that they have very poor wine maintenance procedures that basically ruined a lot of the great wines in the store. E.g. hot storage room and placing old vintage wines top up. Already got a few premature wines here that are obviously the result of bad maintenance.
Great
Good ethic foods store and lots of booze 👍
I have to come here from indy to get loose leaf tea and amazing olives. I always leave woth at least one new thing to try. I wish they would open one here!
Great and diverse selection, especially of tea, vitamins, international foods, and wines. Amazing olive section. Convenient downtown location with parking. Helpful staff.
I come in this place for one or two things and I leave having spent money I didnt intend to. From very fresh organic fair-trade coffee homemade Blended loose leaf teas and Candy everything from Turkish delight to halawa marzipan dipped in chocolate and every kind of candy bar you can imagine. This is the go to International Market in this area
This is one of my favorite places in Bloomington, Indiana and one of the best markets Ive been to ever. The have a fantastic variety of food and beverages. I discover new things to try every time I visit the store. I wish there was a Sahara Mart in Chapel Hill, NC. Im going to miss this place when I leave.
Always find exactly what I was looking for. Only store in town that sells the brand of curry paste and fish sauce that I like.
Huge selection, great prices, knowledgeable staff!
I am amazed by the size and variety of selection. And the experience is so much better than the Kroger across the street. This is now my go to store.
My brother in law is from Cyprus, he says there is more authentic Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine here than anywhere else he has been in the mid west
The name gives enough information to make an educated guess on what to expect. Its antiquated underneath all of the modernization, the dozens of herbs and roots in labeled plastic tins and the weary coffee dispensers. You will probably find what you want, though not instantly, and many other things along the way. I cant ask for anything more. The selection is varied, though if youre looking for a specific brand it can be a toss up. The prices are surprisingly moderate, and theres few things I love as much as a 50% off sticker.
The place to go for some of the items you cant find in your average grocery.
Clean, very well stocked.
The people are friendly and its a nice place to get imported goods that you really cant find elsewhere in Bloomington. However, you have to be very mindful of what is on the shelves. I once bought a small bottle of cheap wine, maybe 8 dollars. I drank only one glass (after eating dinner) and began to feel really sick. I began throwing up violently and couldnt stop for a good hour. I thought maybe it was something I ate earlier in the day or perhaps had a stomach bug. However, after recently talking with a friend who came here and bought an HonestTea that was expired by a few months, I had second thoughts about the wine incident. My friend told me he bought it assuming it would still be good (why would they sell items that are expired?). He began drinking it and later on felt extremely sick. He then noticed the expiration date on the tea!I look back at my wine fiasco and wonder if it was a wine that had gone bad. I never get sick like that, so it wouldnt only make sense given the context.Again, this is a great place for items you may not be able to get elsewhere but I really dont like the fact that I have to either check expiration dates on everything I buy here and/or run the risk of getting sick if there isnt one.
Dont like being insulted by having to leave backpack up front. Just because have backpack dont make assumptions.Youre people are no better than we are Im not a thief
Locally-owned natural and ethnic food store with a wide selection of interesting items. I always find something interesting to try.
This grocery store is a treasure for Bloomington. Being locally owned, I immediately thought that this store would have higher prices than the franchises nearby, but that is not the case! I compared prices with FreshThyme, and Sahara Mart had significantly better prices on the exact same supplements and imported foods I was looking for. The amount of selection here is huuuuge (perfect for the health conscious person), and the bulk food section is out of this world for a town the size of Bloomington. Give this place a try!
Great place to find specific things. Best wine selection in town, for sure. Definitely check expiration dates, though.
This is a combination of groceries, health food and international food store. If you are in Bloomington,IN and looking for something specific to food or cook, this is probably where you will find it. Also, they have a great wine and beer collection from around the world!
Great locally-owned location with great variety and prices
A wonderful place to look for international and organic foods. It also has an incredible wine and beer selection. A must stop.
You have to try the Penguin 🐧 gummies. Right past the register. Amazing store & Owners!!!!
Great place to find funky and hard to find grocery items. Always friendy people working there. Great wine selection also.
All types of payments are received absolutely on point place for your organic needs!
Phenomenal selection of products from all over the world. Awesome place to visit and shop.
I have never found a better value for wine. Truly the greatest store in Indiana for this reason alone. I love the sheep feta and castellano olives too. This is a foodies niche paradise.
Great place to go if you cant find something youre looking for elsewhere. Sometimes they have awesome deals.
Great place but a bit pricey
Lots of varieties and good brands. Good place to explore all the food.
Exceptional selection of groceries, spices, and beverages, and especially friendly staff.
The best place to shop for unusual ingredients in Bloomington. Wonderful olive bar, incredible wine selection, and the best vitamin section I have seen.
With 6200 wines and many more beers, this is a must go destination for the beer and wine enthusiast. You can even get the elite and hard to find Zombie Dust by Three Floyds brewery here, if you come on the day it is delivered. They have the best selection of supplements in town and staff know their products. Sahara Mart offers local Amish foods, like eggs, cheaper than anywhere else in town, milk and cheeses. If you go in on Tuesday, most items are 10 percent off, which leads to big savings. They have a coconut water, C20, which is the best kind in my opinion. Great prices, friendly folks and a huge selection of cold beverages in their giant drink cooler. The baklava is to die for!
