Ive been using Advanced Auto Care for a few years for a variety of repairs. The work is good. They call with updates and help to determine a solution. Prices seem to be competitive with other locally owned auto shops. In general, vehicle repairs are not inexpensive at any place these days. They arent open on weekends and are essentially 8 to 5 M-F. Youll need to schedule your work as they are usually busy with scheduled work. Overall I would recommend.

Easy to schedule the appointment. They made sure to call me before proceeding with any additional work. In fact, there turned out to be nothing wrong with the car. FOR MY GIRLS WITH CAR ISSUES: This is a place you can undoubtedly trust!! I was super nervous to get my car fixed because of how awful my experiences have been with guys who fix cars, but I LOVED my experience here. They didn’t “magically” find a bunch of things wrong with my car even though they took a look to see if there were any major issues. When I went to explain my issue, they actually listened to what I had to say. They even charged $300 less than the Honda dealership that was very clearly trying to rip me off.A big thank you to Advanced Auto Care for being a trustworthy business! ☺️

I had my car towed to the shop the night before service due to faulty brakes. They saw it right away the next day and had it ready in just a few hours. The price they quoted was music to my ears and lower than any other quote Ive gotten from shopping around. Got my car running again, but charged me $115 to recharge my battery, a service that has never cost me more than $20. Also, my car radio stopped working after they serviced my vehicle but they denied having anything to do with it, but still offered to “check it out” for me. News flash, not every college kid is paying for these services on their parents dime. Maybe stop taking advantage of young women and just do your job.

Very friendly and helpful service. I especially appreciated the images they provided me when I took it in for an oil change, showing me the cupping they found happening with my tires. They made me feel confident that I wasnt being weaseled for not knowing too much and they really made it easy for me to make informed decisions for their services.I also had an extremely easy time scheduling appointments - didnt have to schedule too far in advance and was pretty concise with the appointment times. If I had to take it in elsewhere for a full tire replacement, alignment, and shock replacement, they wouldve had my vehicle all day (even with an appt) and this place called me within a few hours after drop-off!Would 10/10 recommend this location to anyone!

As a car enthusiast, it’s awesome when the technician already knows the latest technology and competitive products. I had tires drop shipped to Advanced and they installed them and performed an alignment. The technician started talking tires and alignment info and it coincided perfectly with the hours of research on my own time. I messaged on Saturday and Monday morning they had my truck in the shop and almost completely finished their diagnosis by the end of that day the next morning Jack explained the issues found with my truck explained the results of the testing which I really appreciate especially since it was bad news then gave me a break on the cost of looking into my vehicles issues I dont know if this was because I got an unfortunate case on my hands or if theyre just good people and that is hard enough to find these days. Ive been here multiple times over the years, and theyve always been fast and reliable. Most recently, I took in my car to get the steering looked at. They fixed the steering and replaced a tail light I hadnt seen was out. Theyre nice people who are good at what they do.

I totally trust Advanced Auto and would not take my vehicles anywhere else.

They did a pre purchase auto inspection on a used car I was hoping to purchase. They were very thorough, explained everything really well, were patient, professional, caring.

After some repairs for a minor accident, my truck showed a warning indicator for its 4-wheel drive. I took it to Advance Auto Care for a diagnostic. About one hour after leaving it, they called and told me that the reason for the warning was that the rear differential lock had been engaged (probably when the body shop was checking the lights). I was not charged. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied with the service. The person I spoke with was extremely professional.

They tried to cheat me and did to an extent. I paid $90 for an inspection that included telling me I have rust on my truck as if I couldnt see it. They didnt even fix the squeaking coming from my serpentine belt or the vacuum leak. They tried to tell me I needed new rear brakes which was a flat out lie. I recently replaced my parking brake and I looked at my rear brakes. They dont need replacing. They walked back that comment. They told me my air pump needs replacing but I installed that air pump myself. The reason it went bad was because an engine check valve went bad. So theyre going to replace the air pump without figuring out why it went bad? The mechanic said he hadnt dug that into it. The air pump doesnt even need replacing. They also went snooping around in my truck camper shell. I know because I have a curtain in the rear window which cant be moved without forcing a wire free and it was unhinged. They basically did nothing and kept my truck in their garage for about 2 hours so they could charge me more. I took my truck to Wills in Spencer. Turns out my alternator was making the squeaking. I bought a new one, a new serpentine belt and tensioner. Will charged me $90 and they only took about 30 minutes. Advanced Auto Care are a bunch of crooks and liars. Anybody that says different doesnt know about engines.

These guys are extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They instantly knew what the cause of my problem could be after describing what brought me in and checked everything out for free. They gave me a ride back to my place after I dropped my car off and we’re very nice. After inspection, they were honest and told me that If I didn’t want it, work wasn’t necessary on my car. Very professional and amazing group of people.

We *looooove* Advanced Auto Care. They do excellent work and are the nicest people. We just bought a new (used) car and brought it in to Advanced Auto Care to follow up on a used car inspection--AAC took a careful look over and explained that most of the recommendations from the initial used car inspection were overzealous and could be waited on. They actually charged me $0 after looking over the car and sending me away with in-depth explanations about the car. Theyre the only mechanics we see in Bloomington.

Got me in asap and had every part i needed. Every other place in bloomington was hours of labor & had to wait on the parts i needed for my car they are about getting stuff done in a timely matter and was very good at keeping me updated most definitely recommend & will be coming back(:

I wish that they would have told me that they didn’t have my filter and that they would have to order it when they offered to change it. I know how to change an AC filter and was planning on buying one and doing it myself, I just figured it would be nice to have it off my to-do list, but it ended up taking 2 hours, even with no one else waiting on their cars because I had the first appointment of the day. Additionally a manager really went off on a poor guy delivering some carpets because of their poor customer service (which felt a little ironic after I waited 2 hours!) and felt very unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. They wore masks on and off. No issues with my oil change but I won’t be going back.

I took my car there for servicing. They were really open and up front about what needed to be done. I wasn’t hassled with a bunch of things that needed to be done, but just told what needed to be done at the moment. They got it done quickly and even gave me a ride back home while they were working on my vehicle.

Advanced Auto Care came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! Dropped my car off without an appointment after hours. Got an immediate follow up the next morning the second they were open for business. We walked through the issues with the car and they called back very soon after with a diagnosis and a price estimate. I couldnt pick up the car during their open business hours but they let me pay over the phone and arrange a key situation that I agreed upon. Ill definitely be going to them again in the future.

My poor car sat for a year wasting away, I was sure the pandemic had finally killed it but Dave assured me they could get it going again for me. I had Fleetwoods tow it (so convenient bc the tow bill was included in the repairs). The fellas at Advanced Auto Care fixed it up and had it running again and ready to pick up less than a week later. It needed front and rear brakes, a new battery, oil change, new tires- the rust on the wheels needed to be ground down- etc, they did it all. And it runs great now! The inside still stinks but you’ll have that with a leaky old KIA. I love that car and am so happy I’ll still be able to drive it for another few years. My hubby wasn’t as pleased that they got it running again but that is just fine with me lol. Thanks guys, I haven’t been in to see you for a couple years but you definitely did not disappoint!

Advanced Auto Care performed a 60k mile general maintenance. The car felt fine before the tuneup, but now it actually feels a lot better. Surprised me, because I dont usually notice a difference after maintenance, so I wasnt expecting the drive to feel smoother or more responsive or anything. But it does. :)

Been going there 20+ years, would not take my vehicle anywhere else.

Excellent company! I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very get-go they showed a great level of professionalism and care. They listened carefully to my specific needs and gave me the best options (for me!). They do truly put customer’s interest at front and clearly explain the issue/s, trouble/s with the car in understandable terms. After I dropped the car at their location and was unable to find a taxi, Dave, was so kind to offer me a ride home himself (that’s what I call excellent customer service!) Prior to my visit to Advanced Auto Care, I took my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis for an oil change to the dealer in Bloomington and they found that it needed about $6,000 (!) in repairs to make the car “safe to be on the road”. Advance Auto Care educated me on what was actually wrong with the car and helped me to decide the repairs needed to make it safe. Long story short, Advance Auto Care made the major, absolute repairs needed to make the car safe for less than $1,000 (and in 2 and a half days!) I was, and still am, very pleased with their quality and work ethics. Very honest, cordial, and fair (price) company. No doubt, from now on, they will be “my mechanics” of choice. (I’m telling everyone one I know, who is looking for a good garage, about them).

Took my car to Advanced because it wouldn’t start. Guy had a look at it on the lot, said he couldn’t see under the car as I asked them to look at my bad sway bar as well. Told me the starter was turning over slowly. Needed a new starter, $500. Had the car towed to Flextune,they called me at noon the next day saying they had started the car after cleaning the battery terminals and charging my battery. $75 labor.

Remarkable! I have lived in four cities. In each a mechanic worthy of my trust had to be found. This is my first visit to Matts. Service in terms of courtesy and professionalism was unmatched. Provided direct clear answers to my questions, while acknowledging the uncertainty of certain aspects. Work completed timely and well. You need a mechanic that you can trust. Youre looking at them now.

I felt complete trust in their recommendations and diagnoses. I came in for an oil change and because my auxillary port stopped working, and I was hoping they might be able to diagnose the issue. They quickly let me know this is actually an issue with the connection with the radio, and gave me recommendations as they dont do radio repair or installation (no diagnostic charge). The oil change was quick, and I was able to wait (about an hour).I will also note that the reason I chose this place over another in town (Mission Auto Care) was that Dave at Advanced Auto Care was nice and helpful over the phone (and in person). Even though Mission Auto Care was cheaper for an oil change, the woman I spoke with over the phone was incredibly rude, and I had no faith in anything that she told me. Their hourly rate for diagnostic work was also more expensive.In short, I will definitely use Advanced Auto Care in the future and would highly recommend them. They go the extra mile to take care of their customers.EDIT: After a quick Google search and a YouTube tutorial, I found out that my auxillary port issue could be solved by ordering a $25 part off Amazon to replace the existing port. It took me about 10 minutes to replace (9.5 minutes of that time was spent maneuvering to remove the existing port), and it is now working again. This is what I communicated that I suspected was the issue to begin with. It is a good thing I trusted my instincts, otherwise I might have been out hundreds of dollars for a new radio. I believe the shop was being honest in their recommendation, part of that being to take it elsewhere for this as this is not something they normally deal with, Im just a bit surprised they didnt suggest replacing the port as a first step I might try.

I brought my car to advanced auto care because it started making a really loud nasty noise when it moved. I called and they were able to bring my car in that day and said they would be able to look at it within the next day or two. I got a call back 2 hours later telling me my car was ready to be picked up. Turns out there was a rock stuck somewhere causing the noise. When I checked out they didn’t charge me anything. Amazing service both on the phone and in person. I would recommend this shop to anyone!!
