I recently bought a new refrigerator from Bensons Appliance. I called and asked Bruce questions about what I was looking for.He was very patient and knowledgeable. He made the buying process so easy as I bought it over the phone and he mailed the papers to me. If youre looking for a new appliance call Bruce for the best customer service!
I called Bensons Appliances in Bloomington IL. to schedule a dishwasher repair. I told the person that took the appointment the brand (Bosch) and provided the model number. I was told my appointment would be on Monday of the following week and that I would be called on Monday before the repairman arrived.On the Monday the day of the repair appointment, I had a few errands to run. I called around 9:00 to see if could get a rough timeframe of when the service person from Bensons would arrive. No one answered the phone so left a message for them to please call me. After a little over an hour no one had called me back. I knew the store was open so I called again.On the second call Bensons answered the phone. The Bensons representative was surprised no one had called me yet and looked up my appointment information. He saw the appointment was for a Bosch Dishwasher and told me that Bensons doesnt work on Bosch Dishwashers!Its of course fine to not work on a certain brand, however, its not fine to make an appointment for a repair, knowing its a brand you dont work on. I could have made an appointment with another company, but instead I was counting on Bensons to know if they worked on Bosch or not. The person making appointments should know what brands Bensons services.. At the very least after it was discovered that an appointment for a Bosch repair had been made I should have been contacted.Secondly, it appears no one was ever going to call me or let me know no one would be coming. I had dogs kenneled, and was staying home waiting on a repairman that Bensons knew was never coming, but couldnt be bothered to let me know.I will be needing new appliance in the near future and I prefer to purchase from small appliance stores due to what I thought would be better service than a large box store. I still may purchase from a smaller store, but it certainly wont be Bensons. I am shocked by the lack of consideration and common decency. Bensons is very unprofessional I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for appliances and appliance services.
After buying a stove, with the expectation that it would be delivered before Thanksgiving, a delivery mix up left us hanging. A big thank you to the owner and the Bloomington sales folks for making the necessary arrangements, and getting us our new stove in time for the holiday. It looks great and I cant wait to try it out.
Ive bought 4 appliances here in the past year, sales manager is very kind. They mean it when they say pleasing you pleases us. Interest free financing available for those in need.
Bensons is the BEST! I will never by an appliance at a big box store again! The prices are competitive but what truly makes them different is their customer service and service after the sale!!!!! Not only did they fix my refrigerator leak for a very reasonable price, but they also were able to find knobs for my stove..all in 3 days!
I have been shopping with Bensons for over 20 years. Sometimes the staff is busy with other customers, but I have always received excellent customer service both in the store and by phone when I have questions. I recommend Bensons to everyone if theyre shopping for appliances.

Jimmy was first rate and took care of my dryer immediately. It then failed again but he came back out and fixed it at no charge. Very pleasant and professional company that stands behind its work.
This is the second time I have had issues with their service department calling me a week later to schedule my appointment after I came into the store. This time I called Mr. Appliance 2 days after not hearing from Bensons. Not sure what the problem with communication is, but I will not be using their service department.
Major appliance shortages everywhere...even worse at independent stores.
Cory was an excellent service tech. For both diagnostic the service was same day as my call. Part was received within 5 days even though it was uncommon. Excellent service experience.

I called on Saturday at 9:00 am and the technician was here at 12:30 pm and by 1:00 pm my dryer was fixed! They provided friendly and fast service throughout the entire process. Thanks Bruce and Cory!!!

What a horrible Experience. Cory Edinger hung up on us when we were questioning the charges. When asking for a manger he placed us on hold for one second and very condescendingly came back on the phone and said none available. When asking for the managers number he refused. What horrible service and customer service.
