Always very knowledgeable and friendly! Recently Lynn helped me with sizing a piece to my outdoor furniture. She let me take home two sizes to try and bring back the one that did not fit. Every employee Ive ever dealt with at Little has gone above and beyond to be helpful and courteous! I cant say enough good things about their business!

Sad news about Little Hardware in Mountain Brook- staff proudly unmasked, while most customers are wearing them. When we asked the cashier why no masks, she quickly stated, No mandates. Might come to that in a couple of weeks, but not wearing masks until they are mandated. I guess the possibility the everyone wearing masks for the next couple of weeks might have a positive effect escapes her. bye-bye Little Hardware- its been fun!

Highly upset with little hardware. I brought my saw in for repair for trigger malfunction. I also have warranty so I wasn’t expecting to pay anything. Came back to pick up with a charge of $70. They told me the trigger wasn’t covered in warranty when it wasn’t any physical damage done to it. They also took it upon themselves to sharpen my blades without 1st asking me & charged me for it. That was the 1st issue. 2nd issue came when I took the saw back because it wouldn’t start correctly. Long story short they gave me my saw back in the condition you see in this picture & charged me $20 for it saying it also didn’t fall under warranty. I spoke with the manager he told me there was nothing he could do & he would have to charge me to put it back together.

I have always loved going to the Little Hardware. They have been so helpful throughout the years. However, today in the paint section Frank was completely rude. About 24 months ago I was purchasing some Pratt and Lambert paint for my home. I called to order my shade and they called me to let me know that they were no longer going to be carrying it so I may want to order some extra if I had other rooms to paint. I did that. Since I have not used the paint for a while, I wanted to shake the can of one of the three gallons I still have so I went to see them. Frank said he couldn’t do that because the can had not been properly closed but maybe he could try. Then he told that he didn’t even think that I had purchased the paint there. I was shocked that a man would call me a liar about where I purchased paint. I personally painted the house and definitely remember my many trips to Little Hardware to get paint (most of it from John). At that point, I took the paint and walked out. I imagine that my sentiment about such unacceptable behavior is widespread but as a retired Army Major General, I am deeply offended by it. I will never go back.

OMG this place is amazing. I know nothing about Home Improvement. I called first before I came for the items I was told to get by someone else and they verified that they had what I needed. Then when I got there they walked me to what I needed and took it to the register for me and offered to carry the items to my car. I love shopping local and I will definitely be back. They also sell a dozen eggs that are locally grown and organic for $6.99 a dozen.

I dont think theres any other reason than theyve been here forever that Little Hardware continues to rake in ridiculous revenue. Nothing really noteworthy about this little ironmonger.

This was DEFINITELY NOT my best shopping experience. There were at least 8 employees milling about upon my arrival yet it took awhile before someone asked if I needed assistance. Considering the store was slammed with 3 other customers, I understand everyone was very busy (Not!). The employee who provided assistance did not hide the fact that he would rather do ANYTHING else. With attitude in place, he provided very few answers. Maybe he was’t familiar with the particular unit but if that is the case…get someone who is. I typically do not leave reviews but this location definitely needs customer service training. Attitude is everything! Never make a customer feel unwanted!

This store has all the things you need in a pinch when you need just one more thing to get the project done. The hours are a bit outside of what modern Americans demand but that is also a part of the appeal of this location as well.

Love Little Hardware, their products & services, and the people that work there. Everyone that works there is knowledgeable and if they dont know the answer they can find someone quickly to answer it. Some might think the smaller size is a negative, but it makes finding what you need much easier and I rarely leave wishing they had something I needed. Support local over the big box stores!

Home Depot and Lowes maybe a good place to buy lumber and building materials but for anything else I would highly recommend this place, very knowledgeable and professional

Always friendly. Always helpful. They help you when you are looking for a $2 part or a $500 purchase. Bonus--they have someone on site who rewires old lamps. And they do it for a very reasonable price. They have things you cant find in a big box store. Most notably, a very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Ive been shopping at Little Hardware since the Kate Jackson days of 30+ years. The customer service has always been outstanding but today, I felt like I was shopping at 5 Points Hardware in Southside. Nobody offered to help me and the woman who rang me up wasnt friendly or welcoming. A most disappointing visit.

Plenty of expertise and theyre a Stihl dealer so parts are easy to get.

I needed a water pressure reducing valve so I assumed Id have to go to one of the giants, so I looked at Lowes and Home Depots websites and they had them for $129. Didnt wanna drive there so I called Little, expecting them to be maybe $10 - $20 more. Nope. The very same valve that is $129 at the giants can be found at Little for $109. I was finished with my plumbing project around the same time I wouldve been checking out at Lowes or Home Depot.Shop local everybody! Its more convenient and very frequently less expensive.

This review is for my first time in Little Hardware to purchase a new lock set and the folks were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. Clean environment and most importantly it was very cool inside on a scorching hot Alabama summer day.

This era of big box hardware stores has eliminated most of the small stores. Little Hardware has a helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. I love this store. Its small, but well organized so they have most anything I need for a quick run to the hardware store, but not so much that you get overwhelmed. This is the kind of hardware store I used to go to on Saturdays with my Dad when I was a child, so Im probably nostalgically biased. Just go, you will be glad.

This is what a hometown hardware store is supposed to be. We were helped almost immediately upon entering the store. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. We found items here we could not even find at Home Depot. Will return and avoid big box stores when possible. Shop local.

Absolutely my favorite hardware store. Rarely has there been an item, no matter how seemingly random, that hasnt been in stock. Great selection of so many different things. Find new stuff every time I am in. The staff is TOP NOTCH!

Shopped at big box stores for years and never went into this place because I assumed the prices would be unreasonable, but after going once I was determined to make Little Hardware the only place to get supplies. Not only are their prices good but their customer service is outstanding, they have all the essentials, are very knowledgeable, and are always kind. Without doubt the best hardware store around town.

I’m a local service provider and they have bailed me out of a few binds. Always helpful staff. They even took some of my business cards to give to their customers when they ask who does service in my field!

This is the most awesome hardware store. Why would you go to a big box store when you could shop at Littles where you can find items ranging from fertilizers for your garden, cleaning products, light bulbs, picture hanging items, annuals and vegetable plants and so much more. They also carry paint, re-glue a chair, sharpen garden clippers and knives and lamp repairs sometimes returned in 24 hours. They are knowledgeable and helpful and open till 5:30 weekdays and 5 on Saturdays. They will help you fix your home and give you advise on so many items. Prices very competitive and always service with a smile. It is my go to place for many household items.
