I was unsure about spending this kind of money on windows for my new home. I had already paid for windows that were in stock and the building supply company refunded my money and had Chris to call me. Chris was so nice and took so much time with me. He taught me how Pella windows were made and the materials that was used in Pella windows that sets them apart from the rest. After speaking to Chris there was no way that I was going to put cheap windows in my new home! Chris is a valuable asset to the Pella window company. It felt like I had known Chris all of my life when I hung up the phone. He is so down to earth and friendly. I highly recommend Chris Meadows for all your window needs because he is a very knowledgeable, helpful, and professional trade representative for the Pella window company. I’m so thankful that God crossed our paths and my new home will have the best windows. I have made a new friend also along the way :)

I generally don’t leave reviews. When I do it’s usually to reward exemplary service. This is NOT one of those reviews. On November 29, 2018 I had a new front door installed by Pella. I had no problem with this transaction. On November 10, 2020 we noticed that my Pella door seal had broken on the side and it had oozed insulation. This was within the two year warranty that Pella provides with their product. I contacted the salesperson who had helped us and he gave us the number of their customer service and told me who to talk to. That is where the process broke down. Local customer service, it turned out, never did what they said they were going to do. Never. They said that they would send out someone to look at the door. They didn’t. They said that they would call me back or email me. They didn’t. I had to contact the salesperson again, I also had to send him the information that I had sent Birmingham customer service. He talked with his manager and then the salesperson came out to look at the door. They agreed to replace the door. Then customer service called me to say that my door was no longer available and I could select another door. I did. All along the way I told them that we would be leaving town mid-February and wouldn’t be back for a long time. They told me that the door had arrived but couldn’t get it painted before we left Birmingham in February.I called them on August 10th, six weeks before we were going to be back in Birmingham. They scheduled installation for September 23, 2021. They sent me an email confirmation for that date. On September 21st I called them to confirm. I called again the morning of the 23rd, since I hadn’t heard from them. They told me that no, They didn’t have the door. The manager had decided that I should have the original door that I purchased (the one I was told they no longer sold) and because of COVID it wasn’t in yet. It would now be installed on October 22nd. There was nothing they could do to expedite this. On October 20th I called to confirm and get a time. They told me it would be installed between 12:00-2:00pm. I didn’t hear from them and called them on installation day, October 22nd. Keep in mind that I had been told by customer service and received an email from the manager saying that it would be installed on October 22nd. I was then told that the door had not been painted yet and it would take 3 days to dry. Plus, there was only one installation person who could install the door and that he doesn’t work on Friday. Keep in mind that THEY rescheduled the installation for Friday. It didn’t matter though since they hadn’t painted the door. I offered to come to their warehouse to paint the door. They declined. The manager then called me on Monday October 25th. They had procured the paint. Seriously, don’t they know what the products that they sell require to install? The door had to dry. They scheduled and SHOWED UP on Wednesday October 27th. The installer was great. It was not his fault that this fiasco occurred.One point to note is that if you try to call national Pella to try to get help, they will say that it is up to the individual distributor. This branch is OWNED by national Pella. They, as with this location, simply do not care. You may pay for quality product but you do not get quality product or quality service.

Chris Raco was super nice and amazing. He was straight forward and very open about everything. No pressure to buy, very laid back, easy going guy. He went into details for me. I’m looking forward to have my new windows installed.

UPDATE 12/16/2010 - The owner obviously didnt read my post. I sent an email to social media before posting this review. I sent it 12/2 to be exact. Still nothing as of today.ORIGINAL: I have had terrible customer service from Pella. We ordered some replacement windows way back in July to be installed by a personal contractor. Long story short we didnt get the windows that were agreed upon. I have spent months with Pella trying to get the issue resolved. I have windows that I dont want and Pella is slow to respond. I even sent an email to the social media account listed on other reviews but havent gotten a response. I really want to resolve my problem. I knew Pella as a great brand when I started this process but now I will never use Pella again.

They never called us back to give us an estimate so we bought from Lowes.

UPDATE - I tried reaching out to the social media site at KC South/Pella, per their request to my original review below. It has a month without any response to try to resolve my problem. This is an example of the service from KC South. Their response to my original review seems only to be a weak attempt to show they are concerned.ORIGINAL review - We bought all new Pella Architect (alum clad, top of the line) windows for our new house in 2006 (59 windows around $40K), suppose to be the best with lifetime warranty. Turns out after 10+ years, at least one had rotted (fine print stating it was not covered) & one of the sash window glass got broke (our fault). It has been a horrible nightmare dealing with the Bham service location. Four (4) phone calls from (4) different people got me (4) different, accelerating prices for just one window sash (like almost twice the price of the original entire window frame & both sashes). The first replacement sash took forever to come in & its obvious the service people are less than enthusiastic about servicing the customer. Multiple cell phone numbers to call & no consistency. Its like a shady organization that has the attitude of buy what we have at our price or go away! Ill NEVER buy Pella windows again. For anyone in the market for windows,, run away from Pella as fast as you can!!

We have had a terrible experience with Pella over the past several months. We ordered our windows in July through Carlos, who assured us that Pella windows are “the Lexus of windows,” whatever that means. The day of installment, Pella charged our account TWICE. Windows aren’t cheap. They took several days to refund our money from the overcharge. When the installers finished that day, they noticed the grid of the picture window did not line up with the grid of the two windows on either side of it. They told us they would have to order another custom piece of glass for it. They left, and I had to fix a lot of their caulking where they left gaps. Several weeks later, they return to install the new glass in the picture window. They get it in, then notice it’s the EXACT SAME as the wrong one before. Carlos is minimally responsive at this point, and pawns us off on the incompetent lady that charged us twice for the window in the first place. At this point, we’ve paid for the job in full, and it hasn’t been completed. This past week (November!), they came with a THIRD piece of glass. The installation guys measure it before starting and realize that once again, it is incorrect. Either the office, the factory, or both are completely incapable of doing their jobs. At this point, we’ve taken 3 days off work to be there when they install the windows. Pella has wasted a tremendous amount of our time. Please save yourself some time and money and go with a different company! Maybe Pella used to be a good company, but those days are gone. Their customer service is garbage, and they can’t seem to figure out how to fix their mistakes. I am nauseated that I gave this inept company my money.Update 8/18/20: Someone from Pella’s marketing or PR team saw this review and reached out to me around January 2020. They then put me in contact with someone from the local Birmingham branch to “make things right”. After being promised a refund (they even said it had been approved!), they completely ghosted me and I never received a refund. I called Pella a few weeks ago and finally spoke to a person in the Birmingham office. They said the person who was handling my refund was furloughed and that’s why I never heard back from them. They apologized and said they would look into my refund the following day. I haven’t heard back from them, despite following up multiple times. I have now been dealing with this for more than a year.

Pella replaced our front door last November and the experience was very good. So this year we replaced three large windows on the front of our house. The sales rep came out and went over several options for the windows with us. After we picked out the windows we wanted a second rep came out to verify the window measurements. We were pleased to see the installation crew was the same one that replaced our door and they did another very good and professional job with the window installation. We are very pleased with every aspect of our experience with Birmingham Pella based on our two projects done with them. Pella may not be the cheapest windows/doors, but we couldnt be more pleased with the quality of their products and ease of doing business with them.

We are very pleased with our new Pella windows. I want to let you know how much I appreciated working with Carlos. There was kind of a hiccup during the time from ordering to time of installation and Carlos was VERY HELPFUL in getting things worked out. He had inherited our job after they had been ordered. Also, the installation crew did an excellent job as well.

My wife and I have replaced two different large door and window projects with Pella Window and Doors of Birmingham in the last two years and we could not be more pleased with the level of communication, installation, service, and quality of the products. From the beginning to the end of the experience - sales to service - they want the customer to be 100% satisfied. We intend to use Pella for our remaining window and door projects in the future.

The folks they send to install have been great and very informative. Theyve explained all of the details as they worked and even did extra to ensure a quality job. The installers from Huntsville were wonderful, but an appointment was set up for Saturday, January 23 to finish the job due to rain on the 15th of January. Winter storm-no accumulation, bit cold and sun is out. Nobody called Gee, I am sorry we will not make it to finish the job. We are snowed in in Birmingham, which had no accumulation whatsoever. So sorry you got up at 7AM. So sorry, you moved your furniture, which is hard at age 75 Installation supervisor away from cell phone-who is away from their cell phone today and does not return messages. Office is closed. When I went to look at the windows office was closed for lunch 12-1. Still closed at 1:10. Young man still playing on computer. Who closes office for lunch without leaving a skeletal in the office for customers. Getting ready to paint interior of house starting Monday thinking job would be finished. Yes. I understand Pella a great product but customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

The install of my windows a year ago went great. I’m trying to get someone to come service some specific areas that the caulking is inadequate. I have been trying for 6 weeks to get in touch with someone. I have called, left voicemails with no response, chatted with an online representative who said to consider this done, yet it’s still not taken care of nor have I received a call from anyone. I called again today, 9/10/19 and FINALLY spoke to a live representative, and she tells me they do not have any technicians available and I can call a local handy-man. I asked to speak to a manager and she says they don’t have one right now. So, again, another failed attempt to get anything resolved. Install and windows are great hence why I gave Pella a 2 versus a 1. Service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. If I were to rate on service alone it would only be one star.

Its always sad when you know much more about the products than the salesperson does. I suggest a quick google search during orientation for the sales staff. You can learn much more about the product yourself at home.

This was our second round of replacement windows and we could not be happier with the results. From Chris, the Pella representative, to Andria who did all the scheduling, to the install team this was a perfect example of good business. Yes, Pella windows may be a little more expensive but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and this is true. These are the best investment in my home.

When Pete, arrived for our appointment, it was as if we had know each other, when in fact this was our first meeting and conversation. I was impressed in that he didnt try to pressure me in making a purchase. He asked what are you looking for? We shared with Pete our needs and then he showed us a window and explained Pellas way of building windows. We were just interested in getting a bid that day, but after we saw his sample and heard about the professionalism of the installers, we signed a contract to purchase Pella windows. My wife and I couldnt be happier with our decision.

Pete was friendly and great to work with. He was knowledgable about doors and he provided different options for us to consider. He designed the doors for us during his visit to our house. Our experience with Pete was great!

We went to the homewood office to get quotes on Windows for our new house. The sales person we spoke with was to get our quote back to us by the end of the week. We did not hear from her and after several calls we did get the quote. Several weeks later we needed an update on the quote after several emails and phone calls we have still not heard back from her. Yesterday my husband spoke to the receptionist who said the sale person had been extremely busy but promised to call us back by the end of the day, and we are still waiting for that return call. We understand busy but a email acknowledging us would have been great.

Called and scheduled an appointment a week in advance, even sent photos and measurements of exactly what I needed. Never heard a word. Called back on the day of the appointment to be told by the same person scheduling the appointment...”oh yeah, we can’t do that”. Thanks for wasting my time Pella.

Our salesman, Randy Simpson, was great. The windows and doors are beautiful and of the highest quality. I would highly recommend Pella windows.

Please be aware that Pella does not stand behind their product. Their warranty is worthless. We called them to come inspect some of their installation because we noticed the windows were leaking and we had a serious wood rot problem. It took them over 3 weeks to schedule a visit. Their serviceman informed us that we should have been putting putty around the windows about every 5 years and oh yes said the warranty would not have covered any of that-it only covered the windows, which made no sense to us. Also be aware and Google the class action law suit filed against Pella for shoddy workmanship. A word to the wise-avoid these folks. Once they have ur money u are left to sink or swim.

The entire process has been a pleasure! The customer service is excellent!!!! And my door is beautiful! It is such a pleasure to know customer service is still a priority. Pella rocks!!!!!!!! Thanks so much!!!

KC South LLC is the worst company Ive ever worked with they started our window project in March now its the end of October and the projects still not completed. Theyve canceled install appointments, build windows that didnt fit, reorder 3 times and Im left with a bill of $12,000 half of the job completed been given the runaround and numerous broken promises. This company doesnt care about customer service, commitments or standing by their word.Take your money, time and trust elsewhere!

I talked with several window companies before going with Pella to replace all 27 windows in our home. Carlos is the first person we spoke with who sold us the windows. He was such a nice person, and we enjoyed meeting him. Andria worked with us next to get the install scheduled. Finally, Teless crew installed the windows. Their work was awesome. We have hardwood floors throughout our house, and we do not wear shoes in the house. I never said anything at all to Teles, or his crew. I noticed a few hours after they started none of the were wearing shoes. The windows look great, they were finished in 2 days with some minor touch-ups the third day. Teles is from Brazil, and I truly enjoyed meeting him. He took about 1 minute one evening and showed my son some of his soccer skills. Hes had a Grapico for the first time when I offered him one. His first statement was wow, 1916. On the can it said since 1916, which Ive never noticed before he pointed it out. I enjoyed his accent, and the time we got to know each other. In summary, every single person I spoke with at Pella was superb. Great company, and I highly recommend them.

We researched and decided we wanted fiberglass windows. The Pella Impervia windows were the only fiberglass that we could find available in our area of the country. We went to Lowes (the only place locally that sells Pella windows) and got a quote, but were not impressed with the knowledge of the sales people there (We knew far more than they did.). Since we were replacing windows we had questions that we were having trouble getting answered. I went online trying to find information and while I was on the website for Pella Windows and Doors of Birmingham (the closest Pella store to us, but still a couple of hours away), a pop-up box asked if I would like an in-home consultation. Since I had already given my zip-code, I was shocked at this offer, but said yes. I couldnt be more pleased with the service we received from this point on. A sales rep came to our home; answered all of our questions, and we never felt pressured to make a purchase. We were replacing wood windows that were 30+ years old, and had been a purchase that we never expected to be replacing, but they had not stood the test of time! We do not want to ever have to replace windows again! So getting something that was going to last was very important to us. We decided to come back with wood clad windows in our great-room and replace all the other windows in the house with fiberglass. It took a little longer than I would have liked to get the windows in, but good things are worth waiting for! The crew that was sent to install the windows were wonderful! They were very professional and did a great job all around! The only complaint that I have is that it is VERY hard to raise and/or lower the wood windows. Our previous window had a slight groove across the wood at the top and the bottom, where your fingers could get a grip to raise and lower, but these have nothing! This is a manufacturing issue that I hope will be addressed. We plan to add handles of some sort to the top and bottom windows to assist in the raising and lowering. This was a very expensive project, that will be worth it if, indeed, our windows never have to be replaced again. Thank you Pella!

There is no way these glowing reviews are real. Please read the negative reviews and that is what exactly happened to me. You can never talk to anyone local, all calls go to Maryland and then they might call you back. Wrong orders, cancelled appointments and double hung windows that have so much air coming in the curtains move when windy. $35k for a job that started in 2017 now they want to set up an appointment 2 months from now to look at the warranty. Be warned!!!!!!

Had Pella windows installed had an issue witha window Pella Windows wanted to charge $825 to replace a pane found another company that was doing it for $250 I will never have Pella windows again especially when the window was under warranty

I cannot express just how pleased we are with our new vinyl windows. We feel like we have a new home. They are superbly crafted and Chris Raos worked out an amazing deal for us after explaining every detail about our selection. All 13 windows are perfect due to the precision and expertese of Andy, Grace and William during the install. Thank you Pella for making our house a home.August 8, 2018 -I am editing my review to add that we recently decided to have our double glass deck doors and the half moon window above them replaced by Pella. We are extremely pleased with the quality of our window purchase and have noticed a significant drop in our cooling bill. The doors will add much more efficiency to our home. Chris Raco again was very knowledgeable and willing to work to fit this current project into our budget. Steve [sorry I forgot his last name but he is the only Steve :) ] again came out for the detailed measurements of the door and answered all our concerns. I look forward to seeing Andy and Grace again soon, as I requested they be the installers.

We just spent ~25,000 on Pella windows in multiple rooms. Wish I had read reviews before hand. Installation was very sloppy. Interior trim damaged in multiple places with no or inadequate repair and of course now they wont return my calls. I just want someone from Pella to come out and actually see the poor job their installers are doing. Im dreading what leakage and other problems are likely to develop based upon the reviews Ive read. Definite buyers remorse

Seriously guys . . i just need to know if ill be able to purchase the X slab of an old slider (likely not from this century and i believe its an old 7281) . . if this is not available, please just say so and ill move to plan B

They never answered the phones or returned me messages. I finally had to call corporate to get my service scheduled and then they wouldnt schedule my repair until after my house sold. Very disappointing, I would think Pella would fire these folks for destroying their good name. I would never buy a Pella product in Birmingham AL!

We visited the showroom, had a salesperson to our home and ordered the door, had another Pella Rep at our home to take the final measurements and write the specs for the installers. At EVERY step of the way, I advised each Pella rep that I wanted our inside threshold to be flush with our living room floor. I mentioned to EACH person we came into contact with that this was not negotiable. After the installers showed up, they again took measurements, and advised that there would be a 1/4 inch difference - not ideal, but I could live with that. I left for about an hour, and came back to find the door already installed with a 1 1/2 inch difference. Not attractive, and a tripping hazard. The installers had another Pella rep on scene, who basically told me nothing could be done, despite my repeated show of anger and disappointment. The final blow was today, when we touched up the outside paint with the paint purchased by Pella to match our exterior (the installers told us to wait 2 weeks to allow the caulk to set up). Surprise! The paint is interior paint, not exterior, and does not match the existing paint. I would NEVER do business with Pella again. They made no attempt to make this right with me, and did not offer any sort of price reduction because of their repeated errors. This is not any oversight - NO STARS.

Terrible experience. Havent done anything they say they would do yet! They have a lot of my money and havent come to work- run from this company!

Run away from this company!! They take forever and have zero customer service once they have your order

Horrible communication. Unless you love waiting for someone to not call you go with another company. Pella Windows and Doors of Birmingham is the WORST place to spend your money.
