My wife and I stopped by on a Friday to look for a tree. We went inside aspen for some advice on the type of tree that would work best with our soil conditions. The person behind the counter was rude and a complete ash. He kept telling us any tree would need to be mounded. Message received. We never did find out what type of tree would work best fir us. I dont mean to birch, we have used Billings Nursery in the past for landscaping, but I wont spend another dime there.

I have stopped here a few times over the last four years, I have only made one purchase. I am done trying to give them business. I know their prices are high but they usually have a large selection of plants and rock so I would occasionally stop to see what they had. As mentioned in other reviews, it was the customer service that kept me from buying anything most times - more so than the higher prices.

The whole crew at Billings Nursery has LOCAL knowledge and has always been great to me. One year, I got heirloom tomato plants that grew over 6 tall after their help and advice. They are great people and I would recommend them to anyone needing plant or landscaping help.

The only decent part about visiting this place is their dog. We’ve been going here for three years, but this past year there is a woman who works behind the counter who is extremely obtuse and rude. I usually don’t complain about single employees, but because she plays a pivotal role in almost every interaction with a customer I feel the need to warn incoming patrons because she’s just that unpleasant. It’s one thing to have bad day, as that is totally understandable, but to be consistently lackluster and crotchety is both unprofessional and embarrassing.

Through the past years I have purchased trees, flagstone rock, plants, sand and soil. They are so wonderful to buy from. So helpful and kind.
