The crew that installed my whole house back up generator was very good. I watched the entire installation just because I was interested in how things are done, and the crew and I discussed the process from beginning to end as it went. They kept me informed of what they were doing and why, so I could understand and agree with every step.The only thing I didnt like about the entire experience was the LACK of feedback from this company as I awaited my delivery & installation!It was originally scheduled for September arrival, but I heard nothing from them until I called them about September 16. At that time they told me it had arrived and needed to be checked out and scheduled for installation. 2 weeks past with NO feedback, so I contacted them again, but they had no extra information about my generator. ANOTHER 2 weeks past, so I contacted them once again, and was told something to the effect that theyre working on my project, and it was just about finalized. I finally got my generator installed on November 3.During the run up to the expected delivery date, based on the original sales person and agreement, and the approximate 6 weeks that follow my initial phone call, I had to initiate ALL conversations with the Electric Dr. The ONLY time they called me was after I called them to ask whats going on, and insisted on being kept informed. They were always very apologetic when I talked to them, but even when I asked to be kept more informed of the ongoing process, nothing improved.I believe they would do a lot better overall, if their customer service and/or installation planning staff would take a few minutes to contact the already sold generator set customers to spend 1 or 2 minutes letting them know where things stand. Otherwise, the customer is left in the dark, watching day after day go by, with winter approaching, wanting to put their yard back in place after the installation but before bad weather arrives, and wondering if ANYTHING is going to happen, or will we go through another winter with power outages and no back up system to rely on.

Made an appointment last week waited all morning for them to come and they did not show up. Finally, called to see what was the ETA and the receptionist said “that the storm created “emergencies” and they would not be able to get to me today.” Instead, I would be put in a wait-list and hope that they can get to me soon. I would NOT recommend this business bc your appointment means nothing and and you will need to get in the back of the line, if there’s an “emergency”.

Order a generac last September, said it would be installed in November, then changed to February, tried canceling but was told our deposit was non refundable, finally arrived in late March but didnt get hooked up until April, been waiting on the surge protector that they never called about, finally I called them again and its in stock, this company is the worst Ive ever dealt with!

Proposal was in october of last year, install suppose to be in December. No one showed, no one called. Several attempts over email, finely contacted office, my paper was lost, misplaced or never turned in. My credit score drop 8 points because of being approved for finance, then I cancelled. Was never once told were sorry or it was our mistake. Cancelled my generator to be installed. Poor communication.

The staff that made the appointment were very nice and helpful, the Doc called ahead to confirm I was ready, and when he got here he was very knowledgeable and got it fixed quick. I had installed a ceiling fan myself, but guessed wrong on how the wiring in the wall was run. He got me up and running and it only cost an arm and not the leg. Plus they give you coupons for the next time, theyll be my first call for electric work now.PS: they were my second call, but the first company never called me back to set up an appointment.

Do not use this company. I made an appointment to have an estimate for an in home generator. Not only they loose the appointment--but Patty just called me to tell me that the service manager said that I was not the right fit for them. Now bear in mind that I have had work done previously by their electrician Dennis--who did an excellent job. However, the people in the office responsible for making the appointments, could never get my name, address, phone number or appointment straight. Apparently, it is my fault for being upset.

I opted to contact this company based on the number of good reviews. Unfortunately, we were not so lucky. We needed an electrician to help with a few different issues we were having. The person who came was decently nice, but I honestly dont know how hes an electrician. He literally could not repair any of the issues we had. Or maybe he just didnt try, I dont know. He decided we should just replace all the items that had issues, and actually made the comment I cant think of what else the issue might be, unless its with the wiring, but Im no expert. What?? He also proceeded to complete work without discussing pricing with us and we were ridiculously overcharged for what was done. We would not have had him do what he did had he talked to us first. My husband called to complain and the company credited us $100 off a $689 bill. The $689 included swapping out 3 smoke detectors and him telling us to replace the ceiling fan and light fixtures that had flickering lights. A very disappointing experience…

I had this company come out after a storm to reattach a mast on my home and was charged $1300. The electrician put up an aluminum mast and exactly one month later another storm bent the last off of my home. I called them again and this time was told the standard charge was $1000. When I asked why the price was different I was told my the manager that they had to raise prices because of the derecho storm. This clearly made no sense.

This contractor appreciates the customers desire for a backup generator is mostly about securing peace of mind and my dealings with this contractor suggest they know that and therefor strive to make the experience live up to that expectation. I dealt directly with the owner and this also ensured confidence in the product and service.

I was extremely naive when I hurriedly solicited your services and most certainly should have asked more questions before having you send out a service person. You were highly recommended by a friend, and I trusted his judgement.I also had the option of not accepting your price at the time the quote was given to me during the service call. It was my choice to have you continue with the job I needed done. I was in a position that did not afford me the luxury of waiting for other firms quotes to be presented to me. So my dissatisfaction with your pricing structure is totally on me. I do not wish to imply you misrepresented yourselves, or were in any way unethical.However, having multiple family members in the construction industry and/or in the trades offers me reputable sources of knowledge about this type of service work. We all know a little knowledge can be dangerous. Once the project was completed I felt I was extremely overcharged given the materials supplied and the short amount of time it took to complete the project.Virtually my entire career was spent as a retail manager, so I do feel I have a grasp of the costs that go into operating a business profitably. After all, you’re not a charity, and you are in business to make money. However, sadly, I would not recommend hiring you to anyone with out first getting competitive bids.In closing I would like it noted that your service technician was a highly professional, courteous, and pleasant gentleman to deal with. We lost power last night when a falling tree took down the mast. I called Electric Doctor this morning and they had the power back on within six hours of the initial call. They responded promptly and their workers were hard working and very polite. This is the second time I have used them and would strongly recommend them to anyone with a electrical problem.

From the setting of my appointment to the completion of the work everything was great! I was in a situation that needed immediate attention. When I first called they were booked for 2-weeks... I believe the ladys name is Jody that I spoke to. She said let me see what I can do for you, and within a couple hours she called me back and said we can get there this week! and set my appointment immediately. Marcus called ahead and showed up exactly when he promised. He was so courteous and knowledgeable. Marcus was patient with me as I explained the issues and was quick to remedy the problems. I will definitely recommend Electric Doctor for anyone who needs quick, efficient, affordable great service!

NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! We used them to get some work done on our house we were selling per inspection. We gave them the inspection sheet of what needed to be done. They did it, but when the owners did the walk thru they discovered they DID NOT do what they had said. Now they are giving us the run around about doing it, so much for 100% satisfaction guaranteed! SO NOT HAPPY WITH THEM! They said they would contact the realtor to get it set up since it was closed but the realtor never heard from them. We keep calling and they keep giving us a run around.UPDATE NOW they say WE didnt give them the list of things to be done. Which since we know nothing about electrical work how else would they know what to do per inspection. Anyway NEVER use them they will take your money and then forget what they were suppose to do.

I got in contact with Electric Doctor through Home Advisor. The only issue I wanted them to address was that my lights pulsed or flickered. They were prompt in addressing my inquiry and had a tech out to diagnose. I scheduled the work to be done on March 21.FYI: Cost to come out for an estimate is $49. I knew that going in.I opted to have some additional work done; have my furnace put on its own circuit, have an outlet created for my refrigerator and have the main wires that come in from the meter to the breaker replaced. At the time, they recommended a grounding system be installed, but I said I did not want that done (it was $550).The day the work was done, the electrician (Rod) called me and said they *had* to install the grounding system, as the inspector from the City of Bettendorf said it was necessary. He did give me a discount of $100, making the total for the whole house grounding system $450.My total bill was $1575 after all was said and done. I was floored. I was also overcharged by $181. I called that same day and the $181 refund is pending (it cleared). I have no idea where that extra amount came from.There was debris left behind; wood shavings in several places, three unused circuits left inside the breaker box along with plastic pieces, some small pieces of copper wire on the floor and one piece of insulation that was not put back. I had about 1 hour of cleanup after the electrician left my home.The original issue I called about? Still happening. Several of my light fixtures are still pulsing.I attempted to correspond with the owner, Jeff Lanum, about the following issues/questions via email:1) My issue is not resolved. I still have lights that pulse/flicker. What are my options?2) Can you supply documentation that shows that I HAD to have the grounding system installed? (edit: I did end up calling the city about this and the city electrical inspector did indeed say this was LAW that this had to be put in. Kinda surprised the Electric Doctor didnt know that. I would have never agreed to any of the work done knowing I HAD to have a $500 system installed - it wasnt in the budget)3) I have a giant copper wire that runs from my heater to ??? What is this?4) A mess was left behind. There were wood shavings in several places; top of plastic yarn bins, in some of the yarn, on top of the water heater, behind the plastic bins, near the breaker panel. There were also three disconnected circuits left in the breaker panel along with a lot of debris.5) What circuit was the HVAC system put on?I got one response from Jeff, and then he stopped writing me back. I never did get him to come back out to answer my questions nor tell me when it would be a good time to call.I dont have the time to chase someone down, but I can say with certainty that I will NOT recommend the Electric Doctor to anyone who needs work done.

How do you post a less than 1 star rating???? Heres what they did for me.... They were told the switch was bad so they came and flipped the switch on/off, it didnt work so they determined it was a bad switch - that was a $50.00 diagnostic charge, They then replaced the approximately $2.00 switch in about 10 mins - that was a $100.00 service fee. So about a 10 min job and a $2.00 part cost me $160.00. Learned a lesson, hope you learn from my stupidity also.
