Absolutely adore this market. We love to take the drive from Scranton, PA because nothing compares to the freshness and variety. Its worth the trip for all of the Middle Eastern goodies that remind me of my grandmother. The staff is always so nice and helpful. Cant wait to plan another drive down!

Great place to buy so much produce at great prices. Such a nice variety, everything is well stocked up, a lot of employees, store is clean and lines are not that long. They also have a butcher shop in the back that is pretty good as well. If you are looking for plants, they have those outside but, I did not look at them. It was 90°+ and I was walking around 😎

I love this supermarket. They have a great meat dept. Abundant fresh veggies and fruits. They sell seasonal flowers. They have great prices too.

Place is nice and very organized, but unfortunately the last 2 times me and my wife bought fruits and vegetables 85% of the products the next few days or even something the next day were damage, products always looks good form the outside but they were bad from inside check my pictures

Cold air was a welcome escape from the summer heat and humidity on this late August day. The produce greets you as you enter, a wide variety from the usual red tomato to the unexpected fresh dates. Theres a cold deli counter, breads, especially middle eastern breads, an impressive assortment of grains, yogurts, ayran, cheeses, and juices. The quality is excellent and the prices are competitive. If you are looking for an adventure without leaving home, you should visit Azars and try some new things. We recommend getting a bottle of elderflower syrup and mixing with cold water (1:10) for a glass of sweet heaven on earth.

As far as food and prices go....they cant be beat! But, that being said, they are not nice friendly people. They act as though youre bothering them. No pleasantries, no smiles, no nothing. If they fixed that one issue they would get 5 STARS!!

Azar supermarket is clean, they have a large variety of fresh produce at a low price, and lots of middle-eastern and Easter Europe products you cannot find in regular grocery stores. Employees are very professional and friendly at the same time, and always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers.

There is an extensive varity of produce, quality compares to that of wegmans. Prices as good as Aldis or better. Deli, meat counter, grocery section and in the summer an out door floral section. Plenty of registers. Handicap parking. I enjoy trying some of the varieties of produce. This used to be Elias. Name change, same maybe even a little better.If my review was helpful please hit like.

Here is just some of the great and fresh food that Azar has to offer daily. If you have not had a chance to go, please do so you will not be disappointed. Their employees are very personable and friendly. Either off 191 in Bethlehem or in Allentown off Tilghman Street.

First time here, I usually go to the market in Allentown. Parking was easy and plenty of space, they have a big variety of beautiful plants at very reasonable prices and plenty of shopping carts and baskets. However I found that a lot of things that I usually buy were not very fresh.Like the recao, cilantro,spanish vegetables. The mangoes were very wrinkly which means they are bad. I would never buy those. I wanted to buy spanish veggies but changed my mind.I will go elsewhere. The employees I encountered were very nice though.

Have always really liked Azar, but green produce the last two weeks was terrible - rotten wilted parsley, for example. Many of the vegetables should have just been thrown away. What is going on?

Reasonable prices on produce. Lots of cool items that cant be found anywhere else and I stock up on Turkish tea, wafers, and candy. The cashiers are courteous. I have never had an issue shopping here and will always stop by when in the Bethlehem area.UPDATE 26 September 2018: It looks like they are changing their name to Azar. The sign says they are staying the same ownership. Still no public rest room which sucks because I drive in from Reading. I met the owners daughter today, July 24, 2019 and a very pleasant conversation.

Very well organized produce. Large selection of uncommon produce. Didnt walk thru grocery aisle but appeared to have good selection of ethnic products. They did have boxes of disposable gloves at the entrance with a sign Mandatory all Customers Must Wear Gloves, which I really liked & there was a masks required sign on entry door. Its a tiny local grocery & produce market that Ive known through 3 owners & name changes and its still a great place.

I totally love this market. I have been shopping here for many years. The prices for produce are the best, and the is always there. The selection is unbeatable. The staff is helpful and friendly. Unlike other markets, when I leave there I have bags full of food and a bag full of junk.

Amazing selection for produce, international products and a fresh deli counter. Prices are great, selection is abundant, and this place has a very welcoming feel. My wife and I picked up some Halva, Turkish Delight, German Chocolate, and Arepas. We will be coming back again and again for the variety of fresh produce!

Since this market changed the name and most likely ownership, they are rude and unprofessional. They changed the prices on two items we had in the cart. Not only did they change the price as I was trying to pay but also took the item out of my cart as if i wasnt able to purchase it. Unacceptable and very unprofessional. I understand we are humans and make mistakes but that is no way to treat a customer who has shopped here for years and it was not a price or number mistake i made. Cashier was super polite and even argued with the produce guy defending me.

She is the sweetest person in that store with a high level of customer service excellence! Ask for her by name, you won’t be disappointed. She also packs everything for you really nice in the bags. My favorite produce market, until today. What are the workers thinking when they pulled down their face masks and talked laud around food? I guess their spits fully covered those peppers, broccoli, cabbages, ... Dont dare to shop there till the pandemic is over.

The market was crowded with very narrow isles making it nearly impossible to maintain even close to a 6 foot distance. Went there primarly searching for plants to put outside in a terrace area. While some looked fair, others were weak and even dead. They used to have good plants but not this time. Quite disappointed!

Best place to buy European, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern FoodI discovered AZAR market 8 years ago, in the way to work, and I am happy I did. This is our must go shopping trip, once a month, even we live 30 minutes far from it. I particularly appreciate that here are lots of items from Europe, Mediterranean and & Middle Eastern, we cant find in other stores plus the prices are very affordable. Best variety of Olives and REAL Olives Oil. Beside of that there is a large variety of fruits and veggies, including some very exotic. I cant wait for spring when they open the garden center. In few words, this is a market for people valuing freshness and practicality, and not for fancy snobs. We hope that in time they will expend and open a store in New Jersey, closer to us.

Clean and practical. It is an excellent place if you are looking for a mediterranean cousin. They bring fresh bread (pita) a few times a week. Prices are fair, not the cheapest, though.

Not a bad place to pick up your produce for a reasonable price. My experience with Elias has been really hit and miss. Most of the produce is perfectly fine and there is even a handful of items that other places do not carry. With that being said you can also find items that are bruised, overly ripe, or unsatisfactory in some other manner. They had strawberries once BYGO at a discounted price which would have been a good deal until I had a closer look and saw that they were starting to grow fuzz. Please dont get me wrong, I buy LOTS of produce here and the majority is perfectly fine, I just happen to find more items here that are not fine than I would expect or like to and most certainly more than other places. They have a small and limited selection of other products such as coffee, canned goods, etc. that I feel are generally overpriced. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. The store itself is clean and orderly and there is plenty of parking. They are easy to find in a convenient location on Linden St. in Bethlehem. They are not my first pick for produce but not for any negative reasons. I would not have a problem recommending them and you should certainly stop in and see for yourself.

Ive heard from several friends of mine told me that that Elias Market had some good prices. I was content with my normal options and paid no mind to their opinions. My friends certainly were incorrect, they have AMAZING prices! I especially love the selection of fruits and vegetables, much better than the other other markets Ive been using.To top it off, they have a wide selection of halal and Mediterranean products which I love! My family will enjoy this market!

Azar is a great market for produce, spices, and all sorts of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients and foods. They have a good fresh meat selection (including halal). Plenty of fresh regional pita choices. Great place to purchase freshly finely ground coffee with your choice of cardamom for use in making Turkish style coffee. Wonderful olives, cheeses and cured meats as well and candy/sweets from several other countries.They have extensively remodeled and made it much easier to park and get around the store. Hood place to go for seasonal items like Easter flowers, Christmas greens, pumpkins and fall decor, etc. Good prices and helpful staff.

Love this place. Huge variety of food from all over the world. Amazing butcher shop. Fabulous fruits and veggies. Fresh olives, hummus, other middle Eastern food.

Prices are fair. But staff can be a bit unfriendly at times. Groceries get smush by the cashiers because they dont care what goes in which bag. Food is only good for no more than 2 weeks and must be use soon before it goes bad. You essentially pay for what you get.

Yes, prices are good but when some of the stuff is only a day or two from going bad are you saving anything? It’s hit or miss when you get your stuff home and actually see if it’s still fresh or not.

Love this place! We live in northeast NJ but we shop here every time we visit my parents in Bethlehem. Great salads and dips, nuts, and a lot of other foods - Middle Eastern and American.

A supermarket sell everything you need and fresh vegetables.

I like this place for sourcing carribean fruits and veggies. They also have a large selection of spices. That being said, if you choose to shop there,.here are three things you must know:. 1. You need to use what you buy within 48hrs because the food just does not keep like Wegmans produce. I returned some mushrooms that were two days old and had sprouted so much mold and hair it was unbelievable. I guess it was unbelievable because the customer service representative just about accused me of lying and consulted to other people before begrudgingly exchanging them 2. Maybe its cultural but the employees do not seem to thrilled to be there or see you. This is not everyone, but enough for you to notice. 3. Make sure when you go there that you have already used the bathroom, because they do not have customer restrooms and they are not letting you use theirs. I got to use it once. It was during their remodel. After being told no by an employee, on my way outtout door, to walk passed a man who turned out to be the owner. He saw my face was not happy and asked if he could help me. I told him, I come here weekly, Ive been here 40 minutes today, I have a full cart, and Im leaving it because I have to use the bathroom. Im not coming back to get these groceries. So he let me use their bathroom. Do you believe they remodeled the whole place and still no restrooms! SMH

I really enjoy this store. The produce is nice and reasonably priced. Normal grocery items can sometimes be a bit pricey but I mainly come for the hard to find ethnic grocery items which are priced well. I stopped by for some plants today and they looked great, a good selection of flowers and vegetables for planting. The workers I encountered were helpful and courteous. Parking can be a bit stressful on the weekends since it is usually crowded... I like to go during the week when it isnt as crazy.

Place is looking great now that they are remodeling and prices are always the lowest I encounter. Gave it three stars only because the fruit sometimes has mold growing on it due to poor storage. As long as you know how to pick fruit properly and check stuff well its good

Nice market with a great variety of fruit and vegetables especially ethnic and hard to find roots and vegetables. A very nice selection of tomatoes if you are in to different flavors. Prices are great if you know how to pick through. Decent selection of cold cuts but the real gem is their line of nuts and dry fruit at a fraction of the supermarket prices. Middle Eastern and Greek cheeses, coffees, pita breads and cookies. Friendly personnel and atmosphere. If you are in the Lehigh Valley area this place should be on your weekly list.

I personally like sending my wife to shop here.... lol.. the prices are fair and you get some fruits and vegetables you would have in other countries. The variety is small, but over all is a good place for quick shopping
